RESUMO

The internal organs and meridians were associated with Yin and Yang, five elements, six qi, and time and space, based on the holistic view of heaven, earth and human, according to Huangdi Neijing. The syndrome differentiation system of six meridians and Zang Fu meridians were established by Shanghan Zabing Lun, on the basis of the three Yin, three Yang, six meridians, and five Zang system in Huangdi Neijing. We put forward the concept of the six meridians syndrome differentiation system of circular motion, considering that the six meridians syndrome differentiation system actually implies the theory of circular motion. The syndrome differentiation system was constructed with the circular model of one qi circulating around the road, rising left and falling right, corresponding up and down, and maintaining conservation in the middle as the core, integrating Yin and Yang, five elements, six qi, Zang Fu and meridians, qi, blood and body fluid, and the integration of heaven, earth and human, focusing on "disease location and disease nature", taking classical prescriptions as the main treatments, and cooperating with external treatments such as acupuncture and moxibustion. We organically combined the circular motion with the syndrome differentiation of the six meridians, systematically interpreted the physiological bases, pathological changes, progressive patterns, and the treatments, based on syndrome differentiation, by inheriting the classical thinking mode of Hetu, Luoshu,Zhouyi, Huangdi Neijing, ShennongHerbal Classic, and Shanghan Zabing Lun.

RESUMO

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) may have an effect on the pain associated with orthodontic treatment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of LLLT on pain and somatosensory sensitization induced by orthodontic treatment. Forty individuals (12-33 years old; mean ± standard deviations: 20.8 ± 5.9 years) scheduled to receive orthodontic treatment were randomly divided into a laser group (LG) or a placebo group (PG) (1:1). The LG received LLLT (810-nm gallium-aluminium-arsenic diode laser in continuous mode with the power set at 400 mW, 2 J·cm) at 0 h, 2 h, 24 h, 4 d, and 7 d after treatment, and the PG received inactive treatment at the same time points. In both groups, the non-treated side served as a control. A numerical rating scale (NRS) of pain, pressure pain thresholds (PPTs), cold detection thresholds (CDTs), warmth detection thresholds (WDTs), cold pain thresholds (CPTs), and heat pain thresholds (HPTs) were tested on both sides at the gingiva and canine tooth and on the hand. The data were analysed by a repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA). The NRS pain scores were significantly lower in the LG group (P = 0.01). The CDTs, CPTs, WDTs, HPTs, and PPTs at the gingiva and the PPTs at the canine tooth were significantly less sensitive on the treatment side of the LG compared with that of the PG (P < 0.033). The parameters tested also showed significantly less sensitivity on the non-treatment side of the LG compared to that of the PG (P < 0.043). There were no differences between the groups for any quantitative sensory testing (QST) measures of the hand. The application of LLLT appears to reduce the pain and sensitivity of the tooth and gingiva associated with orthodontic treatment and may have contralateral effects within the trigeminal system but no generalized QST effects. Thus, the present study indicated a significant analgesia effect of LLLT application during orthodontic treatment. Further clinical applications are suggested.

RESUMO

High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprint technology is an important means of quality control of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparations, which can reflect the whole process of raw materials as well as the whole process and quality of finished products. It has become the primary quality control method of modern TCM preparations. In this paper, recent advances in HPLC fingerprints and their combination techniques in the quality control of TCM preparations were reviewed, which provided the basis for quality control of TCM preparations.

RESUMO

Phyllanthus emblica L.and Terminalia chebula Retz.were the most common Tibetan medicines. The combination of Phyllanthus emblica L.,Terminalia chebula Retz.and Term inalia bellirica (Gaertn.) Roxb.was known as Triphala, which was the basis of the most frequently-used prescriptions. The present study summarized and made a further comparison between Phyllanthus emblica L.and Terminalia chebula Retz.over chemical constituents and pharmacological activities, which provided evidence for their clinical use and the basic theory.

RESUMO

This study aimed to investigate the effects of tannins extracted from Tibetan medicine Phyllanthi Fructus on cytochrome P450 enzyme of liver microsomes in rats.Cocktail probe substrates were incubated with liver microsomes in vitro.Metabolic elimination percentages of the six probe substrates, including dapsone, dextromethorphan hydrobromide, coumarin, phenacetin, chlorzoxazone and tolbutamide, were determined by HPLC.The effects of tannins extracted from Tibetan medicine Phyllanthi Fructus on the enzymatic activity of rat liver microsomal P450s was evaluated. It was found that tannins extracted from Phyllanthi Fructus did not impact P450 enzymes. The IC50 values of CYP3A4 and CYP1A2 were over 200 μg·mL-1,while the IC50 value of CYP2C9 was superior to 500 tg·mL-1.In conclusion,Tannins extracted from Tibetan medicine Phyllanthi Fructus did not significantly affect cytochrome P450 enzymes.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the application effect of the health care integration mode after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of patients in cardiology department. Methods 100 patients (the experimental group) were randomly selected from 200 patients to implement integrated health service management model, usual care service mode was given to the other 100 patients (the control group). After 12 months, the incidence of haemorrhage and hematoma, the average length of hospital stay, the patients' quality of life, patients' satisfaction degree in two groups of patients were compared. Results Compared with the control group, the incidence of postoperative haemorrhage and hematoma decreased, the average length of stay shortened, the patients' quality of life and satisfaction degree significantly improved after PCI in the experimental group. Conclusions Compared with ordinary care model, health integration model can reduce the incidence of haemorrhage and hematoma in patients after PCI,alleviate the suffering of patients; shorten the average length of stay and reduce the economic and emotional burden of patients; improve the patients' quality of life and satisfaction degree, deepening nursing work connotation, and promote the development of nursing.

RESUMO

Objective To quantify the effect of gradual respiratory functional training on the lung function and quality of life (QOL) of patients convalescing from Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). Methods Thirty-two GBS patients were randomly divided into two groups a control group which received routine nursing and a respiratory function training group. The training was in three stages:thoracic or/and abdominal respiration, deep breathing and respiratory exercise. After 2 and 4 months of treatment, the 16 min walk test and the SF-36 health questionnaire were used to evaluate the subjects' lung function, motor capacity and QOL. Results After 2 and 4 months of treatment, vital capacity (VC),forced vital capacity (FVC),forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) and maximal ventilatory volume (MVV) had all improved significantly in the training group.Their 6 min walk distances and QOL ( in all 8 domains) had also improved significantly. The average VC.FVC.FEV1 and MVV in the control group all decreased slightly but the decreases were not significant.Their 6 min walk distances had improved significantly, however,as had the physical function, mental health.psychological role, physical pain and integrated health domains of their QOL. Conclusion Training the respiratory functional of GBS patients during convalescence can prevent the lung function decay due to muscle weakness, and can also improve motor ability and QOL.
