RESUMO
Objective:To observe the effect of Yi Jin Jing(Sinew-transforming Qigong Exercises)intervention on anxiety in asymptomatic patients with Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)infection during quarantine. Methods:A total of 160 asymptomatic patients with COVID-19 infection were stratified by gender and divided into an observation group and a control group by the stratified randomization method, with 80 cases in each group. The control group was given basic nursing in the cabin, and the observation group was given additional Yi Jin Jing exercises once a day,20 min each time, and trained continuously until 1 d before leaving the cabin. The Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA)score was compared between the two groups. Results:A total of 154 cases were included for data analysis in this study, including 74 cases in the observation group and 80 cases in the control group. After intervention, the HAMA scores in both groups increased(P<0.05),while the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).In the control group, the HAMA score of females after intervention was higher than that of males. The scores of mental anxiety and somatic anxiety in both groups were higher than those before intervention, while the score of mental anxiety in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control(P<0.05).However,there was no statistical difference in the somatic score between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Patients with COVID-19 infection will get anxious during quarantine.Yi Jin Jing exercise can effectively reduce the aggravation of anxiety in asymptomatic patients with COVID-19 infection during concentrated quarantine.
RESUMO
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to examine the effect of Liu-zi-jue exercise on the respiratory symptoms, quality of life, and mental health of patients with mild coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). METHODS: A single-center randomized controlled trial was conducted with 104 patients with mild COVID-19. The patients were randomly assigned to the Liu-zi-jue plus conventional therapy group and conventional therapy group. The outcome measures included Modified Borg Dyspnea Scale (MBDS) score, Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) score, Fatigue Scale-14 (FS-14), respiratory symptoms, and vital signs. Data were collected on the first and sixth days of hospitalization and on the discharge day. RESULTS: Repeated-measures ANOVA revealed that the whole scales all showed a downward trend in the two groups (all 0.05). The results of single-group effect suggested that the whole scale score in the intervention group was significantly lower than that in the control group at the sixth day of hospitalization. Compared with the control group, only the MBDS, expectoration, and FS-14 scores showed significantly lower scores at the discharge day ( 0.001, 0.011, 0.002). Comparison within the group showed that all the variables were significantly different at the three time points with a decreasing trend ( 0.05), except for the PHQ-9 and expectoration scores ( 0.331, 0.052). All patients' vital signs remained within a stable normal range throughout the hospital stay. CONCLUSION: The results suggested that Liu-zi-jue exercise as a complementary and alternative therapy showed beneficial effects on improving the symptoms (shortness of breath, fatigue, and cough), quality of life, and mental health of patients with mild COVID-19.

Objective: To explore the clinical efficacy of spine subtle adjusting manipulation for postpartum low back pain (PLBP). Methods: A total of 76 patients with PLBP were randomized into a control group and a treatment group, with 38 cases in each group. The control group was treated with core muscle strengthening exercises, and the treatment group was treated with spine subtle adjusting manipulation. After 3 weeks of treatment, the clinical efficacy was observed, and the visual analog scale (VAS) score and Oswestry disability index (ODI), and the changes of lumbar Cobb angle and pelvic rotation were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 92.1%, and that of the control group was 78.9%. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the VAS score and ODI in both groups decreased, and the intra-group differences were all statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no intra-group statistical differences in the lumbar Cobb angle or pelvic rotation in the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, there were no statistical differences in the lumbar Cobb angle or pelvic rotation between the two groups (P>0.05); the VAS score and ODI in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Spine subtle adjusting manipulation can effectively relieve the pain for patients with PLBP, and improve their daily activity function.
RESUMO
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Chinese massage therapy in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) by measuring lower-limb gait parameters. We recruited 20 women with knee OA, who then underwent Chinese massage therapy three times per week for 2 weeks. The patients underwent gait evaluation using a six-camera infrared motion analysis system. They completed Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index questionnaires before and after treatment. We calculated the forward speed, step width, step length, total support time percentage, initial double support time percentage, and single support time percentage. We also measured the angles at the knee, hip, and ankle during the stance phase of walking. The results showed statistically significant mean differences in knee pain relief, alleviation of stiffness, and physical function enhancement after therapy (P < 0.05). The patients gained significantly faster gait speed, greater step width, and increased total support time percentage after the Chinese massage therapy (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in the range of motion or initial contact angles of the knee, hip, or ankle during the stance phase of walking. We concluded that Chinese massage is a beneficial complementary treatment and an alternative therapy choice for patients with knee OA for short-term pain relief. Chinese massage may improve walking ability for these patients.

RESUMO
Objective: To observe the effect of acupuncture and Chinese mina manipulation therapy in treating knee osteoarthritis, and analyze the alteration of musculus quadriceps femoris strength. Methods: A total of 80 patients were randomly assigned to a treatment group receiving acupuncture combined Chinese tuina manipulation therapy (n=40) and a control group receiving Fenbid treatment (n=40), curative effective score, Lequene & Mery assessment tests, and isokinetic evaluation were recorded before and after the treatment course. Results: The total effective rate was 90.0 % in the treatment group and 87.5% in the control group, without a significant difference between the two groups. Lequene & Mery assessment tests had no significant change. Musculus quadriceps femoris isokinetic evaluation improved significantly after the treatment course in the two groups (P<0.05), and there was a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture combined with tuina manipulation therapy and Fenbid treatment both can reduce knee pain and joint disability in the short term, though no improvement was shown in the severity of the disease.Acupuncture combined with mina manipulation therapy is better than Fenbid in improving the strength, total work and explosive force of the musculus quadriceps femoris.

RESUMO
A hemodynamic model of capillary and tissue, in which tissue pressure changed with swing manipulation of Traditional Chinese Medical Massage (TCMM), is presented in this paper to explain the hemodynamic mechanism of swing manipulation. Blood flowed in capillary with low Reynolds number. Plasma exuded through capillary according to the Starling's Law. Tissue pressure changed linearly with the massage force measured. Blood apparent viscosity, plasma protein concentration and red cell's hematocrit were taken into account. Capillary flow rate, blood apparent viscosity, filtration rate and filtration fraction with dynamical change of tissue pressure were calculated numerically, and were compared with those in static tissue pressure condition. Results showed that, dynamical change of tissue pressure led to the increase of capillary flow rate and the decrease of blood apparent viscosity, which qualitatively explained the hemodynamic mechanism of "promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis" in swing manipulation of TCMM.
