RESUMO

The grey water footprint (GWF) is an advanced index linking pollution load and water resources. However, the existing agriculture-related GWF was developed based on hydrological processes, which limits its role in watershed water pollution level (WPL) measurements. The main scope of this study is to calculate GWF and WPL based on runoff, total nitrogen (TN), and total phosphorus (TP) observations in the Hujiashan Watershed of China's Yangtze River Basin. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was utilized to explore the impact pathways of environmental features on GWF and WPL. On this basis, propose measures for the management of this agricultural watershed. The results showed that the TN concentration had a V-shaped trend in 2008-2015, while the TP gradually decreased. The GWF calculations for the TN and TP were compatible with the temporal trends for the concentrations, which were higher in the wet season (0.45 m3/m2 for TN, 0.10 m3/m2 for TP) than in the dry season (0.11 m3/m2 for TN, 0.02 m3/m2 for TP) and increased from upstream to downstream. The WPLs of TN exceeded 2.0 in the midstream and downstream areas, whereas those for TP were inconspicuous. According to PLS-SEM, the GWF is primarily influenced by topographical variables and hydrological features, whereas the WPL is mainly controlled by hydrological features and landscape composition. Fertilizer reduction and efficiency measures should be implemented on farmland and appropriately reducing farming activities on slopes to relieve the GWF and WPL in the watershed.

RESUMO

Plant elemental composition and stoichiometry are useful tools for understanding plant nutrient strategy and biogeochemical cycling in terrestrial ecosystems. However, no studies have examined how plant leaf carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and phosphorus (P) stoichiometry responds to abiotic and biotic factors in the fragile desert-grassland ecological transition zone in northern China. Then a systematically designed 400 km transect was established to investigate the C, N, and P stoichiometry of 870 leaf samples of 61 species from 47 plant communities in the desert-grassland transition zone. At the individual level, plant taxonomic groups and life forms rather than climate or soil factors determined the leaf C, N, and P stoichiometry. In addition, leaf C, N, and P stoichiometry (except leaf C) was significantly influenced by soil moisture content in the desert-grassland transition zone. At the community level, leaf C content showed a considerable interspecific variation (73.41 %); however, the variation in leaf N and P content, as well as C:N and C:P ratios, was mainly due to intraspecific variation, which was in turn driven by soil moisture. We suggested that intraspecific trait variation played a key role in regulating community structure and function to enhance the resistance and resilience of plant communities to climate change in the desert-grassland transition zone. Our results highlighted the role of soil moisture content as a critical parameter for modeling the biogeochemical cycling in dryland plant-soil systems.

RESUMO

Colostrum contains large number of nutrients that promote the growth, differentiation, and biological functions for goat kids early somatic cells, which is crucial to meet the nutritional demands, immune function, and the health of goat kids later growth. Great attention has been given not only to nutritional ingredient differences between colostrum and normal milk, but also to function differences, and their effect on the physical and sensory properties of goat kid's growth performance and health status. This paper reviews the research progress of goat colostrum in recent years, mainly including the colostrum yield, components, i.e., proteins, lactose, and immunoglobulin, as well as the influence factor, i.e., number of lactation and littler size, nutrition during the gestation, and breeding environment. In addition, this review aims to summarize the synthesis and secretion mechanisms, and the digestion and absorption mechanism of goat colostrum. We conclude that even though the composition and physicochemical properties of goat colostrum are highly dynamic and variable, and the digestion and absorption mechanism has not been made fully clear until now, direct feed microbial (DFM) may be a promising alternative for improving the quality of colostrum that should be further explored for their practical usage.

RESUMO

Objective:To promote the reuse of recyclable medical wastes by analyzing the current status of the disposal and factors affecting recycling of medical wastes in medical institutions.Methods:On-site investigations were made on the collection and disposal of recyclable medical wastes at 20 tertiary hospitals in Liaoning Province in the timeframe from January 1 through December 31 of 2018, together with on-site interviews of 25 managers and 5 transfer personnels. Investigation results were then subject to descriptive analysis. Results:There were 18 tertiary hospitals that separately collect recyclable infusion bottles and infusion bags, and only one hospital collected empty bottles of penicillin and cephalosporin antibiotics. There was a linear relationship between the amount of recyclable medical wastes and the actual number of beds available( F=47.177, P=0.000). The amount of medical waste generated in general hospitals and that of recyclable medical waste generated were much higher than those of traditional Chinese medicine hospitals and specialized hospitals. The main factors on the recovery were poor and delayed command of relevant laws and decrees, and inadequate rules and regulations of the hospital, as well as lack of qualified recycling companies and poor compliance of transfer personnel. Conclusions:It is recommended that hospitals formulate and update rules and regulations, establish standardized recycling processes, and strengthen relevant staff training and supervision. The health commission is recommended to enhance communication with relevant authorities, for due appraisal of the qualifications of enterprises recovering recyclable medical wastes.

RESUMO

The water quality of a small watershed will directly affect the water quality safety of the entire watershed. The Lidu small watershed of the Fulin District in Chongqing was selected for this study. The characteristics of runoff and the microbial community in the receiving water body were analyzed by high-throughput sequencing technology. The effects of the physical and chemical factors of the water body on the microbial diversity in the water body were also investigated. The results showed that the small watershed of Lidu was an important source of nitrite and dissolved organic carbon for the receiving water. There was no significant difference in the microbial richness and diversity of the water flowing through different pollution sources in the small watershed, and the microbial diversity index was negatively correlated with the total phosphorus (r -0.79--0.84, P ≤ 0.01) and phosphate (r -0.71--0.80, P ≤ 0.01) of the water. At the phylum level, Actinobacteria (37.33% ±14.69%) accounted for the largest proportion of runoff flowing through the agricultural area, followed by Proteobacteria (32.53% ±7.18%), Cyanobacteria (14.65% ±22.64%), Bacteroidetes (8.50% ±3.67%), and others. Proteobacteria (43.67% ±10.80%) accounted for the largest proportion of runoff flowing through the industrial area, followed by Bacteroidetes (25.33% ±11.97%), Actinobacteria (24.17% ±14.66%), Firmicutes (2.53% ±0.72%), and others. At the genus level, hgcI_clade (19.08% ±13.46%) accounted for the largest proportion of runoff flowing through the agricultural area, followed by CL 500-29 _marine_group (7.40% ±4.44%), Limnohabitans (7.05% ±3.14%), and others. Flavobacterium (20.40% ±12.37%) accounted for the largest proportion of runoff flowing through the industrial area, followed by hgcI_clade (15.30% ±11.11%), Acinetobacter (9.33% ±11.50%), and others. The Flavobacterium in the runoff water may be related to the input of industrial sources in the watershed. Nitrous nitrogen, total phosphorus, phosphate, pH, and Zn2+ were the main environmental factors that affected the microbial community in the small watershed. They can explain the variance of microbial community 0.26, 0.21, 0.20, 0.15, and 0.14, respectively. DOC, nitrate nitrogen, and heavy metal ions such as Cu2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, and As3+ were also related to the proportion of some microorganisms in the water.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Digestive tumors are malignant tumors of epithelial origin with high rates of morbidity and mortality worldwide. At present, surgery is the main treatment for patients with digestive tumors. In this study, we conducted a survey of patients with digestive cancers to explore the influence of family support on postoperative quality of life, with the aim of providing a basis of reference for further improvement of the quality of life of such patients. METHODS: A total of 82 patients with digestive cancer who underwent surgery in Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between October, 2018 and April, 2019 were selected to take part. The self-made questionnaire, the European Cancer Research and Treatment Organization's Core Quality of Life Questionnaire for Cancer Patients, and the Family Support Scale were used to investigate the patients, and the collected data were statistically analyzed. RESULTS: The family support scores of the 82 enrolled patients ranged from 5 to 15 points, with an average score of (8.86±2.47) points; 60 cases (73.17%) scored ≥10 points and 12 cases (26.83%) scored <10 points. Patients who were married, aged under 30 years old, or employed as civil servants had higher family support scores than other patients (P<0.05). The scores for physical function, emotional function, and overall health status/quality of life in patients who had a high family support score were higher than those in patients who had a low family support score (P<0.05). According to the logistic regression model, Patients with higher age, getting married, with education level of bachelor degree or above, occupation as farmer and with other digestive tract tumor got higher family support score. (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Good family support can effectively improve quality of postoperative life for patients with digestive cancer. Education, age, occupation and marriage are all independent factors that affect family support.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE:To promote rational use of OTC in the family ,and to provide reference for the formulation of related policy by health administration department. METHODS :By stratified cluster sampling method ,using residents of 4 cities from Gansu province as objects ,face-to-face questionnaire household survey was conducted in Jan. 2019. The general information of the residents and their family self-medication behaviors were collected ,and the influential factors [tendency factors (including cognition of OTC and attitude towards self-medication ),contributing factors and strengthening factors ,and odds ratio (OR)was used to study the correlation between factors and results] of self-medication behaviors were analyzed by PRECEDE-PROCEED model. Epi Data 3.10 software was used to establish database ,and SPSS 16.0 software was adopted to analyze the family self-medication behavior of residents statistically. RESULTS :A total of 3 600 questionnaires were sent out ,and 3 111 valid questionnaires were recovered ,with an effective recovery rate of 86.4%. 81.8%(2 541/3 106)of the respondents had self- medication behavior in the past 1 year. The results of binary Logistic regression and χ2 test showed that female residents ,irregular daily life , no chronic disease ,low monthly family income ,new rural cooperative medical care and urban residents ’medical insurance were more inclined to self-medication. In the tendency factors ,residents who knew that OTC could be purchased in the pharmacy without the doctor ’s prescription (OR=1.322), Δ 基金项目 :国家自然科学基金资助项目 (No.41405108, No.21472077) drug package with OTC logo (OR=1.397)and the Chinese *讲师,硕士。研究方向:药物新制剂、新剂型、新技术。E-mail: herbal medicine also had toxic side effects (OR=1.750),the 410843130@qq.com possibility of self-medication was greater ;the residents who # 通信作者:教授,博士。研究方向:药物活性分子的设计与合 seldom cleaned the family medicine box (OR=0.462),quick 成。E-mail:wangshh@lzu.edu.cn and effective drugs (OR=0.670) and ADR (OR=0.688) 中国药房 2020年第31卷第11期 China Pharmacy 2020Vol. 31 No. 11 ·1377· were the factors that prevent the occurrence of se lf-medication behavior ,while low drug price (OR=5.298)was the tendency factor of self-medication behavior. In the contributing factors ,the incidence of self-medication of residents with regular drugs in their home was 2.997 times higher than that those without reserves ;the convenience of self-medication (OR=1.376),the proximity of drugstores to home (OR=1.680),the credibility of drug quality (OR=1.355) had a facilitating effect on the occurrence of self-medication. In the strengthening factors ,the suggestions of relatives and friends (OR=3.388),books, newspapers and TV network advertisements (OR=2.043)had a strengthening effect on the occurrence of self-medication. The above factors had a significant effect on the residents ’self-medication(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS :The family self-medication behavior of residents in Gansu province is common. The residents with higher cognitive level tend to self-medication ;the lower the drug price ,the more likely the self-medication behavior will occur. The factors contributing to the occurrence of self-medication are the regular drugs at home ,the proximity of drugstores to home ,and the credibility of drug quality. The suggestions of relatives and friends, online advertising and other factors are the strengthening factors of the occurrence of self-medication behavior.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical effect of acupuncture on smoking cessation and withdrawal symptoms and to explore the influence factors of acupuncture on smoking cessation. METHODS: A total of 500 subjects with tobacco dependence were randomized into an acupuncture group, an auricular therapy group, an acupuncture plus auricular therapy group, a TENS group and a nicotine replacement therapy group (NRT group), 100 cases in each one. In the acupuncture group, acupuncture was applied at Baihui (GV 20), Lieque (LU 7), Hegu (LI 4) and Zusanli (ST 36). The treatment was given 5 times a week, once a day in the first 2 weeks. The treatment was given once every 2 days in the week 3 and 4, 3 times a week, and twice a week, once every 3 days in the week 5 to 8. In the auricular therapy group, the ear point pressure therapy was used at shenmen (TF4), neifenmi (CO18), pizhixia (AT4) and jiaogan (AH6a), 3 times a week. In the acupuncture plus auricular therapy group, acupuncture and auricular therapy were adopted with the same points and manipulation as the previous two groups. Acupuncture was given 3 times a week and the auricular therapy was given twice a week. In the TENS group, SDZ-Ⅱ B type electric acupuncture apparatus was used to stimulate Lieque (LU 7) and Zusanli (ST 36), once a day. In the NRT group, the nicotine patch was used on the chest, back and the upper arms of the subjects, once a day. The duration of treatment was 8 weeks as one course in every group. Afterwards, the 16-week follow-up was conducted. The time-point withdrawal rate was evaluated by the level of urine cotinine in 8 weeks of treatment and in the follow-up in the subjects of 5 groups. The persistent withdrawal rate was evaluated by the self-report of the subjects in 8 weeks of treatment as well as in the follow-up in the 5 groups. The withdrawal effect, the score of the fagerstrom test for nicotine dependence (FTND) and the score of the heaviness of smoking index (HSI) were compared among the groups. Twenty indexes were selected as the potential influence factors, the 72 h withdrawal rate based on the level of urine cotinine in 8 weeks of treatment and in the follow-up was taken as the dependent variable. Using the two categories of Logistic regression analysis, the influence factors of therapeutic effect of acupuncture were screened for smoking cessation. RESULTS: After 8 weeks of treatment, the time-point withdrawal rate in the subjects among the groups was NRT group > acupuncture plus auricular therapy group > auricular therapy group > acupuncture group > TENS group. In the follow-up, the time-point withdrawal rate was acupuncture plus auricular therapy group > NRT group > acupuncture group > TENS group > auricular therapy group, but without statistical significance in comparison (P>0.05). After 8 weeks of treatment, the persistent withdrawal rate in the subjects among the groups was auricular therapy group > TENS group > acupuncture group > acupuncture plus auricular therapy group > NRT group. In the follow-up visit, the persistent withdrawal rate was auricular therapy group > TENS group > acupuncture plus auricular therapy group > acupuncture group > NRT group. The result in the auricular therapy group was better than all of the other 4 groups (P<0.05). Except in the follow-up visit, FTND score in the acupuncture group was lower than the auricular therapy group (P<0.05), FTND score and HSI score were not different significantly in statistics among the groups either in 8 weeks of treatment or in the follow-up (P>0.05). The regression analysis showed that the factors, i.e. nationality, educational background, drinking frequency, pre-treatment FTND score, pre-treatment HSI score and smoking cessation for physical reason in family, were correlated significantly with the withdrawal result after 8-week treatment (P<0.05). The factors, i.e. education background, smoking age, pre-treatment FTND score and different therapeutic methods, were correlated significantly with the withdrawal result in the follow-up (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Acupuncture combined with auricular therapy effectively reduce nicotine dependence and smoking intensity and relieve withdrawal symptoms. There are many factors that affect the withdrawal effect in smoking cessation. Hence, the influence factors in smoking cessation with acupuncture should be clearly determined so as to develop the individual regimen for smoking cessation and improve the clinical therapeutic effect of acupuncture on smoking cessation.
