The authors of the present article based their assumption on the concept that the sensory systems are the "windows to the brain" through which various functions of the human organism can be controlled. Comprehension of the fundamental mechanisms of the optimization of the sensory systems, brain, and cardiac functions has increased based on the prolonged sensory flows using conscious and unconscious aromatherapy and multimodal sensory activation. Sensory flow evoked stable systemic responses, including adaptive alteration of psycho-emotional state, attention, memory, sensorimotor reactions, intersensory interaction, visual information processing, statokinetic stability, and autonomic heart rhythm control. The efficacy and expediency of the use of sensory flow for non-medicinal correction of vital functions of the human organism at the initial stages of ageing was revealed.

La comprensión de los mecanismos fundamentales de la optimización del sistema sensorial, del cerebro, y de las funciones cardíacas ha aumentado gracias a los flujos sensoriales prolongados empleando la aromaterapia consciente y no consciente y la activación sensorial multimodal. [Effect of oxygen baths and massage on hemodynamics in patients with neurocirculatory dystonia]. / Vliianie kislorodnykh vann i massazha na protsessy gemodinamiki u bol'nykh neirotsirkuliatornoi distoniei.

56 patients with neurocirculatory asthenia (NCA) of a hypertensive and cardial type aged 30 to 55 years took general oxygen baths and collar zone massage, no drugs were used. The baths and the massage improved the disease course in 92.6% patients: improved hemodynamics, relieved high vascular resistance, lowered high diastolic blood pressure, decreased heart rate in tachycardia. More effective was the treatment in hypertensive NCA.

[Changes in the autonomic status in vegetovascular dystonia syndrome during exposure to permanent magnetic field ]. / Izmenenie vegetativnogo statusa pri sindrome vegetososudistoi distonii pod vliianiem postoiannogo magnitnogo polia.

Permanent magnetic field was applied by placing two magnetic discs (induction 60 mT) in the projection of great arteries on both sides symmetrically. The treatment was given to hypertensive patients with vegetovascular asthenia. A course of such magnetic treatment affects pathogenetic mechanisms of vegetative disorders due to the ability of permanent magnetic field to restore vegetative homeostasis, normalize sympathicotony and vegetative regulation.

[The effect of phyto-air ionization on the main homeostatic systems in patients with neurocirculatory dystonia and essential hypertension]. / Vliianie fitoaéroionizatsii na osnovnye gomeostaticheskie sistemy bol'nykh neirotsirkuliatornoi distoniei i éssentsial'noi gipertenziei.

We used phytoaeroionization in patients with neurocirculatory asthenia and essential hypertension. We discovered a favourable influence of phytoaeroionization on function of the brain and its hemodynamics. It also reduced the immunity response tension, activated hormone regulation, promoted mobilization of energetic resources of the organism which contribute to improvement of adaptation processes.

[Intracranial electrical stimulation in the treatment of neurocirculatory asthenia and essential hypertension]. / Intrakranial'naia elektrostimuliatsiia v lechenii vegetososudistoi distonii i gipertonicheskoi bolezni.

The treatment of neurocirculatory asthenia and essential hypertension stage I and II with low-frequency bioresonance intracranial electrostimulation (BIES) performed on portable two-channel unit SEM-02 led to uneventful sthenic condition, relief of headache, improved sleep and performance, exercise tolerance. The quality of the bioenergetic field advanced in all the patients. Low-energy BIES may be used in many diseases, provides fast therapeutic effect in minimal intake of drugs, is nontoxic and hypoallergic. The unit SEM-02 proved 2.6 and 1.41 times more effective than similar domestic and foreign equipment, respectively.

Intervalocardiography was used to study the effect of carbon dioxide narzan baths on autonomic parameters in 125 children aged 10-15 with vascular dystonia (VD). In sympathicotonic VD vegetative background and reactivity did not change much. In vagotonic VD balneotherapy was adequate.

[The efficacy of electrotherapy with pulsed currents of different frequencies in combined forms of cerebrovascular and vertebrogenic pathology]. / Effektivnost' élektroterapii impul'snymi tokami raznykh chastot pri sochetannykh formakh tserebrovaskuliarnoi i vertebrogennoi patologii.

Sinusoidal modulated currents, fluctuorisation and interference therapy were compared for efficacy when applied according to segment-oriented technique to cervical and thoracic spine. A total of 150 patients with combined cerebrospinal and vertebrogenic lesions were treated in sanatorium on the Black sea shore (Yalta). These techniques demonstrated both similarity and difference in their effects. Mechanisms of action of the above variants of medium-frequency electrotherapy are considered.

For individual evaluation of phytotherapy in flying personnel suffered from neurocirculatory dystonia of a hypertonic type there have been used discriminant equations describing different aspects of pathogenesis of this disease. It is demonstrated that these equations permit to evaluate an individual efficiency of treatment not only at the level of the whole body but at the level of single systems as well which can be used for purposeful correction of the applied therapy. The gained results are indicative of the advisability of further introducing the discriminant analysis into medical practice.

Discontinuation of chemotherapy substituted for a course of acupuncture and electroacupuncture in 124 patients with coronary heart disease, essential hypertension and neurocirculatory dystonia resulted in a positive response of cerebral and peripheral hemodynamics, myocardial contractility and diastolic function. Myocardial hypertrophy regressed, exercise tolerance enhanced. Reflex activation of stress-limiting systems arresting excess adrenergic action on circulation is probably responsible for these phenomena.

[A respiratory syndrome in patients with neurocirculatory dystonia]. / Respiratornyi sindrom u bol'nykh neirotsirkuliatornoi distoniei.

The purpose of the work was to evaluate the compensatory and adaptive possibilities of oxygen transport systems in moderate hypoxic hypoxia to define the sensitivity to hypoxia of patients suffering from neurocirculatory dystonia (NCD) with the respiratory syndrome and to elaborate training therapy methods. 40 patients suffering from cardial NCD were examined. Of these, 23 complained of dyspnea. The general hypoxemic test (GHT) was used; parameters of external respiration, hemodynamics, gas composition of blood, and the content of oxidation substrates were examined. Analysis of the clinical picture of respiratory disorders in patients with cardial NCD revealed the differences in their nature. In addition to psychogenic factors of dyspnea, of importance was a decrease in the compensatory and adaptive possibilities of the body as regards hypoxia, which occurs in mental, physical stress, changes in meteorological conditions, in closed premises, and in vegetovascular crises.

[Effect of reflexotherapy on the baroreflex function of patients with neurocirculatory dystonia and the initial stages of hypertension]. / Vliianie refleksoterapii na sostoianie baroreflektornoi funktsii u bol'nykh s neirotsirkuliatornoi distoniei i nachal'nymi stadiiami gipertonicheskoi bolezni.

Central and peripheral hemodynamic effects of reflex therapy were assessed by means of echocardiography and rheovasography, as was the pulse rate, arterial blood pressure and peripheral vascular tonicity response to the baroreflex test in patients with neurocirculatory dystonia, the hypertensive syndrome and essential hypertension, stage IB-HA by L. A. Miasnikov's classification. The hypotensive effect and favorable central hemodynamic changes contribute to the recovery of an adequate pulse and blood pressure response to the baroreflex test, and a greater baroreflex test-induced drop in vascular tone.

[Clinico-physiological and biochemical aspects of artificial stable functional connections in the human brain]. / Kliniko-fiziologicheskie i biokhimicheskie aspekty artifitsial'nykh stabil'nykh funktsional'nykh sviazei mozga cheloveka.

The paper presents the results of clinico-physiological and biochemical studies of artificial functional connections (ASFC-1) of the human brain, formed in parkinsonians in the process of treatment by means of implanted electrodes. Medical activation of ASFC-1 is shown to have an optimizing influence on the mechanisms of intracentral regulation and connected with the latter other brain systems, such influence being reflected in the dynamics of clinical effects and vegetative-humoral activities. It is shown that ASFC-1 may be used for treatment and diagnostic aims in patients with prolonged diseases of the nervous system.
