RESUMO

The aim of the study was to assess the impact of cytoflavin and bioflavin therapy on the dynamics of clinical and psychophysiological status of patients with Osteochondrosis. 150 patients with osteochondrosis of a backbone were investigated. The patients were divided into two groups using method of randomization: the main group - 75 patients - and control group -75 patients. All patients received a standard treatment (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, myorelaxants, chondroprotectors, as well as physiotherapy). The main group in addition to standard treatment received biofeedback therapy and cytoflavin. The results showed that cytoflavin and biofeedback therapy significantly enhanced the positive effect of standard treatment and significantly increased the quality of life of patients. It is recommended to treat elderly patients with neurological complications of spinal osteochondrosis with Cytoflavin in combination with biofeedback therapy Before prescribing biofeedback therapy and Cytoflavin it is necessary to take into account a number of positive and negative predictors of their effectiveness in reducing severity of pain syndrome.

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was assessment of the effect of cytoflavin preparation inclusion in surgical treatment of patients with malignant neoplasms of small pelvic organs and diabetes mellitus. A prospective examination of 51 patients aged 56 to 76 years suffering from diabetes mellitus and malignant neoplasms of the pelvic organs was performed. Patients were divided into two groups: the first group consisted of 27 patients whose adaptive potential was characterized by tension of adaptation mechanisms, the second one - 24 patients with poor adaptation. In turn, in each group, patients were divided into subgroups depending on the treatment regimen: in the main subgroup of the first group (14 people) the treatment program was supplemented with cytoflavin (10 ml 2 times a day), in the main subgroup of the second group were 13 patients with cytoflavin supplement (20 ml 2 times a day). Patients of control groups underwent standard therapy. State of energy deficiency was assessed by methemoglobin, carbohemoglobin, P50, oxygen delivery, consumption and extraction. Concentration of glucose, lactate, lactate dehydrogenase was assessed. The results of the study showed clear relationship between the nature of changes in transport and oxygen consumption, adaptation adaptive reactions, allowing to identify mechanisms that characterize formation of various types of energy deficiency in perioperative period in patients with malignant diseases of the pelvic organs and diabetes. Use of cytoflavin contributed to a qualitative and effective correction of energy deficiency as well as reduction in the patients stay in the hospital.

RESUMO

The present observational study addressed effects of cytoflavine on symptoms of asthenia and emotional and autonomic regulation in patients with organic emotional-labile (asthenic) disorder (F06.6). Fifty one females and 49 males (mean age 36.8±11.0 years) were included into the study during their in-patient treatment in Moscow Research and Clinical Center for Neuropsychiatry of the Healthcare Department. All patients received standard antidepressant and vascular therapy, were consulted by psychologists or psychotherapists, visited physiotherapeutic procedures, massage and medical physical training. In addition, 50 patients received cytoflavin two tablets twice per day. At the psychiatric re-assessment before discharge both cytoflavin and control groups showed similar significant reduction of asthenia symptoms. At the same time, patients with cognitive deficits showed significantly larger improvement of cognitive functions after cytoflavin treatment in comparison with cognitively deficient patients after only standard therapy. Improvement of depressive symptoms was significantly larger in cytoflavin group in comparison with controls as well. These data are consistent with previous studies which showed cytoflavin to be effective as a treatment for patients with cognitive deficits and organic depression.

RESUMO

Authors compared cognitive functions in 60 patients (main group) with different stages of discirculatory encephalopathy (DE), I, II and III stages. A comparison group included 10 age-matched normals without DE. All patients underwent a clinical-neurological investigation and performed neuropsychological tests (MMSE, the Clock drawing test, Burdon probe) and Spilberger-Khanin test. Cognitive evoked potentials, including P300, were recorded. Results revealed the decrease in performance on neuropsychological tests and P300 components that indicated the slowing of metabolic processes in the cerebral cells of patients with DE. In patients treated with cytoflavin, the activation of metabolic processes in the brain cells that indicated the protection of the cellular cluster clinically manifested itself in neurocognitive and electrophysiological improvements was observed.

RESUMO

The functional activity of mitochondria of the muscular coat of small intestine (MCSI) has been studied in the normal state and under experimental widespread purulent peritonitis (WPP) conditions. The experiments have been carried out on a group of 55 male rabbits of chinchilla breed. It is established that, as a result of the WPP development, the functional activity of mitochondria in MCSI considerably decreases. The comparative analysis of the efficiency of metabolic drugs cytoflavin and neoton showed advantage of the citoflavin preparation, the administration of which allowed the indices of mitochondria in intact animals to be exceeded on the fifth day of postoperative period. The research results show expediency of a complex treatment of WPP using cytoflavin preparation for the normalization of biological oxidation processes and elimination of enteric insufficiency.

RESUMO

Experiment carried out on laboratory animals (rats) were aimed at comparative evaluation of the effect of several neuroprotective drugs under the conditions of model brain ischemia-reperfusion. The experimental methods included staining of brain tissue sections by hematoxiline-eosine, Nissl staining, and expression of NOS1, NOS3, TRAIL by imunnohistological means. The intensity of damage in various parts of brain and the nature of apoptosis without neuroprotection and with popular neuroprotectors (cytoflavin, actovegin, mexidol) and a test drug at the stage ofpreclinical trial (AKF-90-7) were evaluated. Characteristic cytotoxic (coagulative pycnomorphic and colliquative necrosis of neurons) and vascular (hemostasia, erythropedesis) changes were revealed. The neuroprotective effectof drugs decreases in the following order: AKF-90-7 > cytoflavin > actovegin > mexidol.

RESUMO

We present the results of a multicenter study on efficacy of cytoflavin in the treatment of patients with acute ischemic stroke. Seventy patients (41 of the main group and 29 of the control group) were enrolled in the study. All patients received basic therapy aimed at improving systemic hemodynamics, rheological blood properties and at the prevention of stroke complications. Patients of the main group were treated with cytoflavin as follows: days 1-10 - 20 ml (in 400 ml of the 0,9% NaCl solution) twice a day intravenously in drops; days 11-35 - 850 mg twice a day. We assessed the dynamics of restoration of lost functions (NIHSS, the Rankin scale, the Barthel index) and volumes of ischemic lesion (MRI T1-, T2-, diffusion-weighted images). Results of the study on patients of the control group were supplemented with literature data about 306 patients studied using clinical scales and 40 patients studied with MRI. We revealed a trend towards an effect of cytoflavin on the preservation of brain matter in the acute phase of stroke. Cytoflavin reduced the neurological deficit and improved activities of daily living in patients that may be explained by the less brain damage.

RESUMO

Single (80 mg/kg) or multiply repeated (30 mg/kg) intramuscular injections of phenylhydrazine decrease the functional activity of mononuclear blood cells and the reduces immunological reactivity of the organism. Benfotiamine and riboxin decrease the extent of changes in the immunological response to a single administration of phenylhydrazine but do not significantly influence the immunological functions impaired by repeated injections of the hemolytic toxin.

RESUMO

The introduction of gentamycine to Wistar rats leads to the toxic liver damage, suppresses humoral immune response to goat erythrocytes, and induces immunosuppressant properties in erythrocytes (caused by increased lipid peroxidation in their membranes and violated cell energy balance) Under these conditions, a combination of the laser or magneto-laser irradiation with the administration of phylloquinone of riboxin provides for a more effective correction of the immune reaction and antioxidant status as compared to the radiation treatment without drugs or with essential. Elimination of the gentamycine induced immunosuppressant properties of erythrocytes is explained by the ability of phylloquinone and essential to reduce the intensity of lipid peroxidation in the cell membranes and with the ability of riboxin to normalize the cell energy balance. An important factor of immunosuppression development in the case of a toxic liver damage caused by D-galactosamine it the interaction of thrombocytes and light erythrocytes with serum factors. The introduction of essential and riboxin favors this interaction and stimulates the development of immunosuppression in thrombocytes.

RESUMO

Clinical efficiency of dedystrophic treatments for nonstabilized primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) in the presence of normalized intraocular pressure is compared in 168 patients (246 eyes). In one group of patients ischemic angiopathy and hyperreactivity of optic vessel adrenoreceptors associated with hypokinetic central hemodynamics and constitutional metabolic status of the organism was corrected by cinnarisin and riboxin. Patients with predominating congestive angiopathy symptoms, hyper- or eukinetic circulation and "slow" acetylation were treated by pantothenic acid, endotelon, and hyperbaric oxygenation. In both groups epithalamine, eiconol, and magnetic laser therapy were used, if indicated. This helped stabilize the process in 91% patients with initial POAG, in 87.5% with well-developed condition vs. 66.1% and 38.2% patients treated by traditional therapy (period of observation 3 years).

RESUMO

D-galactosamine (DGA) increases the erythrocyte content of malonic dialdehyde (MDA) and the degree of peroxide hemolysis (DPH) of the erythrocytes, and reduces the 2,3-diphosphoglycerate (DPG) and ATP content. DGA induces the appearance of immunosuppressive properties in light erythrocytes. Essentiale (2 mg/kg) reduces the MDA content and DPH in the heavy erythrocytes and induces the appearance of immunostimulating properties in them. Riboxine (2 mg/kg) reduces the content of DPG and ATP in the light erythrocytes and prevents the appearance of immunosuppressive properties in them. Injection of 2 mg/kg of Essentiale or riboxine does not affect the development of the immune response induced by sheep erythrocytes in DGA poisoned rats. Combined injection of the compounds in a dose of 1 mg/kg intensifies the immune response of the poisoned animals.

RESUMO

It has been established in experiments on white rats that prolonged (for 2 weeks) intoxication with antituberculous drugs (isoniazid plus rifampicin plus pyrazinamide) results in cytolytic liver injury. This manifests by hyperaminotransferasemia, initiation of lipid peroxidation, suppression of the antioxidant system and bile production. Daily injections of tocopherol acetate (15 mg/kg) and riboxine (100 mg/kg) together with administration of antituberculous drugs reduce their hepatotoxicity. The combined use of these hepatoprotectors and antioxidants provides a dramatic increase of their efficacy in durable intoxication with antituberculous drugs.

RESUMO

A study is presented of the carbohydrate energy metabolism and processes of peroxidation in rats with experimental pitutrin-isadrin myocardial infarction. Essential changes of these values were noted. It is concluded that quinasopyrin and preparation E normalize to a greater extent and riboxin to a smaller extent metabolic disorders in the ischemia-involved myocardium tissues.

RESUMO

The effect of riboxin (100 mg/kg body weight) on different kinds of metabolism in the cardiac muscles of Wistar rats in norm and during experimental pituitrin-neoepinephrine-induced myocardial infarction was studied. Riboxin was found to stimulate anaerobic glycolysis with the hyperproduction of lactate and the formation of glucose deficiency and also to increase the rate of protein synthesis on polyribosomes. Administration of riboxin during the formation of myocardial infarction considerably hinders the pronounced character of its electrocardiographic and biochemical manifestations. Thus, in the ischemic cardiac muscle the pool of macroergic phosphates is preserved, glycolysis and adaptive protein synthesis are impaired to a lesser degree that probably underlies the cardioprotective effect of riboxin.

RESUMO

The effects of dibunol (30 mg/kg) and inosie-F (40 mg/kg) on the cardiac muscle reparation were studied on 162 coronary artery ligated rats. The long-term administration (30 days) both of dibunol and inosie-F increased the rate of collagen synthesis in the infarction area. Dibunol averted the development of the left ventricular pump failure, while inosie-F didn't prevent the postinfarction depression of cardiac contractility.
