RESUMEN

The article deals with the production of the extract of Echinacea purpurea herbs when selecting an extractant concentration, the size of particles in a raw material and the method of extraction. Using 60% (v/v) ethanol for production of the immune system enhancing extract, the extract becomes green due to pigmental substances; therefore, 60% (v/v), 70% (v/v), and 96% (v/v) ethanol was not used for extraction. It is recommended to use 50% (v/v) ethanol for extraction. Using 40% (v/v) ethanol not all active substances are extracted and resistance of the extract to microbial contamination is weaker. It was determined that the method of repercolation should be used to yield the largest amount of active substances. The largest amount of active substances in the immune system enhancing extract was obtained when the flow speed of extract was 0.2 ml/min. The quality of extract was tested within the period of 26 months by the monitoring of following parameters: appearance of the extract, refraction index, relative density, ethanol concentration, the amounts of dry residue and chicoric acid. The analysis was carried out every three months. The samples of the extract remained stable during storage: no alterations of color, smell or taste were observed. Some of the samples had deposits, which is quite natural in the production of drugs from herbal material, as they have no influence on the quality of the drug (the amounts of active substances were found to be within acceptable limits). On the basis of the obtained results, the period of expiry of the immune system enhancing tincture was confirmed to be 2 years.

RESUMEN

The objective of this work is to produce chewable tablets out of Echinacea purpurea liquid extract (1:1) and ascorbic acid: to create the technology, to select methods of analysis and to examine stability. The paper describes the technology of tablets: a method of condensation is chosen; the influence of additional substances over tableting is established; pressing characteristics of tableting mixtures are examined. The quality of tablets is evaluated in terms of appearance and technological rates: average tablet mass, hardness against pressure, hardness against wearing, time of disintegration, and speed of ascorbic acid secretion. The identity of ascorbic acid, ferments and hydroxycinamon acid was established. Quantities of ascorbic and chicory acids were defined. The tablets produced were named "Askoeziuofito" tablets. The name consists of abbreviated terms of ascorbic acid, Echinacea plant and phytochemical preparation.

RESUMEN

The article deals with the production of the complex tincture of Hyperici herba 80.0 g, Cinnamomi cortex 20.0 g, Rosmarini folium 20.0 g, Lavandulae flos 20.0 g, Zingiberis rhizoma 60.0 g and the selection of an extracting liquid phase, and the choice of extraction method. The experimentally determined optimal conditions for tincture preparation were as follows: concentration of ethanol--70% (V/V), the particle size of the leaves, herb, flowers--2.0-3.0 mm, for the bark and the roots--0.3-0.5 mm, the extraction method--percolation. The quality of the tincture was evaluated by analyzing the sum of flavonoids (recalculated into equivalent amount of rutin), dry residue, the concentration of ethanol, density of the extractive preparation, and microbial contamination. Also the overall appearance was checked, the identification of flavonoids was performed by color reactions and high-pressure liquid chromatography.

RESUMEN

The article deals with the production of the "Saules" tincture in a way of selecting an extractive agent concentration, the size of particles of the raw material and the method of extraction. The experiment indicates that the optimum concentration of ethanol in the tincture is 70% V/V, the particles' size is in the range from 1 to 2 mm; the production method recommended for use is percolation. The quality of the tincture was evaluated by determining the quantity of flavonoids and dry residue, the concentration of the ethanol, the density and the microbial contamination. The presence of quercetin, rutin and hyperoside was confirmed using high-pressure liquid chromatography. The stability of the tincture was evaluated.
