Data describing the use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in pediatric acute liver failure (PALF) are scarce. Thus, we aimed to describe the use of ECMO in patients with PALF using the data from the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) Registry between January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2022. We described patients' characteristics at ECMO initiation, outcome, and factors associated with mortality. A total of 335 children underwent ECMO support in the context of PALF. Veno-arterial (VA) ECMO was the most prevalent mode (66.6%), followed by veno-venous (VV) ECMO (33.4%). Extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR) was used in 21.5% of the cardiac arrest. In-hospital mortality was 66.6%. Both higher lactate (OR 1.128, CI 1.06-1.209, p < 0.001) and PaCO2 (OR 1.022, CI 1.001-1.047, p 0.05) levels before ECMO reported greater odds of mortality. Low body weight, persistence of hyperlactatemia (OR 0.985, CI 0.973-0.997, p 0.013), and hyperbilirubinemia (OR 2.477, CI 1.042-6.100, p 0.045) after 24 h from ECMO deployment were associated to greater odds of mortality. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that the use of ECMO for the management of respiratory and cardiac failure in patients with PALF should be considered with caution and that further research is needed to understand its role in this specific high-risk population. OBJECTIVE: Scanty data are available about neonatal systemic vascular resistances (SVR). We aim to provide reference values and nomograms for neonatal SVR. DESIGN: Multicenter, cross-sectional,descriptive study performed in France and Italy. Neonates with complete hemodynamic stability were enrolled. Non-invasive measurements of SVR by electrical cardiometry performed once, after the first 72 h and before the 7th day of postnatal age. RESULTS: We studied 1094 neonates: SVR was correlated with gestational age (ρ = -0.55, adj-r = -0.46, p < 0.001) and birth weight (ρ = -0.59, adj-r = -0.45, p < 0.001) irrespective of newborn sex. The relationships between SVR, gestational age and birth weight were represented by power equations and SVR was decreasing with increasing age and weight. Age- and weight-based SVR nomograms had optimal goodness-of-fit (non-linear R2 ≥0.74). Similar results were obtained for body surface indexed-SVR. CONCLUSIONS: In hemodynamically stable neonates, SVR decrease with increasing gestational age and birth weight. Specific gestational age and birth weight-based nomograms are provided for the clinical interpretation.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a high-risk and low-volume life support with increasing clinical study. However, heterogenous outcome definitions impede data assimilation into evidence to guide practice. The Academic Research Consortium (ARC), an international collaborative forum committed to facilitating the creation of stakeholder-driven consensus nomenclature and outcomes for clinical trials of medical devices, supported the ECMO Core Elements Needed for Trials Regulation And quality of Life (ECMO-CENTRAL) ARC. The ECMO-CENTRAL ARC was assembled to develop definitions of paediatric ECMO adverse events for use in clinical trials and regulatory device evaluation. An initial candidate list of ECMO adverse events derived from the mechanical circulatory support ARC was supplemented with a review of ECMO-relevant adverse event definitions collated from literature published between Jan 1, 1988, and Feb 20, 2023. Distinct teams of international topic experts drafted separate adverse event definitions that were harmonised to existing literature when appropriate. Draft definitions were revised for paediatric ECMO relevance with input from patients, families, and an international expert panel of trialists, clinicians, statisticians, biomedical engineers, device developers, and regulatory agencies. ECMO-CENTRAL ARC was revised and disseminated across research societies and professional organisations. Up to three rounds of internet-based anonymous surveys were planned as a modified Delphi process. The expert panel defined 13 adverse event definitions: neurological, bleeding, device malfunction, acute kidney injury, haemolysis, infection, vascular access-associated injury, non-CNS thrombosis, hepatic dysfunction, right heart failure, left ventricular overload, lactic acidaemia, and hypoxaemia. Definitional structure varied. Among 165 expert panel members, 114 were eligible to vote and 111 voted. Consensus was achieved for all proposed definitions. Agreement ranged from 82% to 95%. ECMO-CENTRAL ARC paired rigorous development with methodical stakeholder involvement and dissemination to define paediatric ECMO adverse events. These definitions will facilitate new research and the assimilation of data across clinical trials and ECMO device evaluation in children.

Pertussis continues to be a highly contagious respiratory infection, especially in children, with cyclical peaks of disease spread every three to five years. Here, we report relevant cases of B. pertussis infection between August 2023 and January 2024, and compare them with B. pertussis prevalence in pediatric patients admitted to the Reference Italian Pediatric Hospital, located in Rome, from January 2015 to July 2023. A total of 5464 tests for B. pertussis were performed during the study period, and 6.9% were positive. At the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a sharp decrease in the presence of B. pertussis, which reappeared only in August 2023, recording five new cases. All five children presented with paroxysmal cough 5 to 10 days before admission. Four patients had other mild respiratory symptoms and moderate B. pertussis DNA levels (Ct mean: 26). Only one child, with very high B. pertussis DNA levels (Ct: 9), presented with severe respiratory failure. The patients with mild/moderate infection achieved clinical recovery while the patient with the severe manifestation died of cardiac arrest. These observations highlight the reemergence of pertussis even in vaccinated countries and its association with morbidity and mortality especially in young children. This emphasizes the importance of rapid diagnosis to immediately implement appropriate treatment and monitoring of immune status.

Background: Cardiogenic shock in children still carries a high mortality risk despite advances in medical therapy. The use of temporary mechanical circulatory supports is an accepted strategy to bridge patients with acute heart failure to recovery, decision, transplantation or destination therapy. These devices are however limited in children and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) remains the most commonly used device. Veno-arterial ECMO may provide adequate oxygen delivery, but it does not significantly unload the left ventricle, and this may prevent recovery. To improve the likelihood of left ventricular recovery and minimize the invasiveness of mechanical support, the Impella axial pump has been increasingly used in children with acute heart failure in the last decade. Purpose: There are still limited data describing the Impella indications, management and outcomes in children, therefore, we aimed to provide a comprehensive narrative review useful for the pediatric nurses to be adequately trained and acquire specific competencies in Impella management.

There are minimal data describing use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in pediatric patient after a liver transplantation (LT). This study aimed at describing ECMO run in this specific situation using the data from Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) Registry between January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2022. We described patients' characteristics at ECMO initiation, outcome and mortality risk factors. We identified 27 patients with a median age of 2.7 years (interquartile range (IQR) = 1.5-9.9). Main indication for ECMO support was respiratory (14/27 [52%]) followed by extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR) (7/27 [26%]) and cardiac (6/27 [22%]). Overall in-hospital mortality was 63% (17/27). Mortality rate according to ECMO indications was 50% for both respiratory and cardiac failure and reached 100% for ECPR patients. Overall, nonsurvivors experienced significantly more complications under ECMO support ( p = 0.007). Main on-ECMO complications were hemorrhagic (11/27 [41%]) and thrombotic (7/27 [26%]). No clinical or biologic factors was predictive of patients' outcome. Our results suggest that ECMO support is a viable option for cardiac and respiratory indications after pediatric LT. Occurrence of complications while on ECMO are associated with unfavorable outcomes. The extremely high mortality rate in ECPR patients merits further research.

TBX4 gene, located on human chromosome 17q23.2, encodes for T-Box Transcription Factor 4, a transcription factor that belongs to the T-box gene family and it is involved in the regulation of some embryonic developmental processes, with a significant impact on respiratory and skeletal illnesses. Herein, we present the case of a female neonate with persistent pulmonary hypertension (PH) who underwent extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) on the first day of life and then resulted to have a novel variant of the TBX4 gene identified by Next-Generation Sequencing. We review the available literature about the association between PH with neonatal onset or emerging during the first months of life and mutations of the TBX4 gene, and compare our case to previously reported cases. Of 24 cases described from 2010 to 2023 sixteen (66.7%) presented with PH soon after birth. Skeletal abnormalities have been described in 5 cases (20%). Eleven cases (46%) were due to de novo mutations. Three patients (12%) required ECMO. Identification of this variant in affected individuals has implications for perinatal and postnatal management and genetic counselling. We suggest including TBX4 in genetic studies of neonates with pulmonary hypertension, even in the absence of skeletal abnormalities.

Large seasonal outbreaks of bronchiolitis put pressure on healthcare systems and particularly on intensive care units (ICUs). ICU admission is necessary to provide respiratory support to the severest cases, otherwise bronchiolitis can result in substantial mortality. ICU resources are often insufficient and there is scant evidence to guide the ICU clinical management. Most available studies do not cover the ICU-admitted cases and do not consider the associated public health issues. We review this topic through a multidisciplinary approach from both the clinical and public health perspectives, with an analysis based on pathophysiology and cost-effectiveness. We suggest ways to optimise respiratory care, minimise ICU stay, "protect" ICU beds and, whenever possible, make them available for other critically ill children. We also provide guidance on how to prepare ICUs to work under stressful conditions due to outbreaks and to reduce the risk of nosocomial cross-contamination, particularly in ICUs caring for high-risk children. Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is an invasive life support technique that requires a blood pump, an artificial membrane lung, and vascular cannulae to drain de-oxygenated blood, remove carbon dioxide, oxygenate, and return it to the patient. ECMO is generally used to provide advanced and prolonged cardiopulmonary support in patients with refractory acute cardiac and/or respiratory failure. After its first use in 1975 to manage a severe form of meconium aspiration syndrome with resultant pulmonary hypertension, the following years were dominated by the use of ECMO to manage neonatal respiratory failure and limited to a few centers across the world. In the 1990s, evidence for neonatal respiratory ECMO support increased; however, the number of cases began to decline with the use of newer pharmacologic therapies (e.g., inhaled nitric oxide, exogenous surfactant, and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation). On the contrary, pediatric ECMO sustained steady growth. Combined advances in ECMO technology and bedside medical management have improved general outcomes, although ECMO-related complications remain challenging. Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is an essential tool to monitor all phases of neonatal and pediatric ECMO: evaluation of ECMO candidacy, ultrasound-guided ECMO cannulation, daily evaluation of heart and lung function and brain perfusion, detection and management of major complications, and weaning from ECMO support. Conclusion: Based on these considerations and on the lack of specific guidelines for the use of POCUS in the neonatal and pediatric ECMO setting, the aim of this paper is to provide a systematic overview for the application of POCUS during ECMO support in these populations. What is Known: ⢠Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) provides advanced cardiopulmonary support for patients with refractory acute cardiac and/or respiratory failure and requires appropriate monitoring. ⢠Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is an accessible and adaptable tool to assess neonatal and pediatric cardiac and/or respiratory failure at bedside. What is New: ⢠In this review, we discussed the use of POCUS to monitor and manage at bedside neonatal and pediatric patients supported with ECMO. ⢠We explored the potential use of POCUS during all phases of ECMO support: pre-ECMO assessment, ECMO candidacy evaluation, daily evaluation of heart, lung and brain function, detection and troubleshooting of major complications, and weaning from ECMO support.

The ELSO Scientific Oversight Committee, an international and diverse group of ECMOlogists ( https://www.elso.org/registry/socmembers.aspx ), selected the most impactful and innovative research articles on pediatric ECMO emerging from ELSO data. Here they present brief highlights of these publications.

BACKGROUND: The objective of this animal study was to evaluate the hemodynamic performance of a new centrifugal pump for extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support in neonates. METHODS: Six healthy swines were supported with veno-venous ECMO with the New Born ECMOLife centrifugal pump (Eurosets, Medolla, Italy) at different flow rates: 0.25, 0.5, 0.6, and 0.8 L/min; three animals were evaluated at low-flows (0.25 and 0.5 L/min) and three at high-flows (0.6 and 0.8 L/min). Each flow was maintained for 4 hours. Blood samples were collected at different time-points. Hematological and biochemical parameters and ECMO parameters [flow, revolutions per minute (RPM), drainage pressure, and the oxygenator pressure drop] were evaluated. RESULTS: The increase of the pump flow from 0.25 to 0.5 L/min or from 0.6 to 0.8 L/min required significantly higher RPM and produced significantly higher pump pressures [from 0.25 to 0.5 L/min: 1470 (1253-1569) versus 2652 (2589-2750) RPM and 40 (26-57) versus 125 (113-139) mmHg, respectively; p < .0001 for both - from 0.60 to 0.8 L/min: 1950 (1901-2271) versus 2428 (2400-2518) RPM and 66 (62-86) versus 106 (101-113) mmHg, respectively; p < .0001 for both]. Median drainage pressure significantly decreased from -18 (-22; -16) mmHg to -55 (-63; -48) mmHg when the pump flow was increased from 0.25 to 0.5 L/min (p < .0001). When pump flow increased from 0.6 to 0.8 L/min, drainage pressure decreased from -32 (-39; -24) mmHg to -50 (-52; -43) mmHg, (p < .0001). Compared to pre-ECMO values, the median levels of lactate dehydrogenase, d-dimer, hematocrit, and platelet count decreased after ECMO start at all flow rates, probably due to hemodilution. Plasma-free hemoglobin, instead, showed a modest increase compared to pre-ECMO values during all experiments at different pump flow rates. However, these changes were not clinically relevant. CONCLUSIONS: In this animal study, the "New Born ECMOLife" centrifugal pump showed good hemodynamic performance. Long-term studies are needed to evaluate biocompatibility of this new ECMO pump.

Perfluorocarbons (PFCs) are organic liquids derived from hydrocarbons in which some of the hydrogen atoms have been replaced by fluorine atoms. They are chemically and biologically inert substances with a good safety profile. They are stable at room temperature, easy to store, and immiscible in water. Perfluorocarbons have been studied in biomedical research since 1960 for their unique properties as oxygen carriers. In particular, PFCs have been used for liquid ventilation in unusual environments such as deep-sea diving and simulations of zero gravity, and more recently for drug delivery and diagnostic imaging. Additionally, when delivered as emulsions, PFCs have been used as red blood cell substitutes. This narrative review will discuss the multifaceted utilization of PFCs in therapeutics, diagnostics, and research. We will specifically emphasize the potential role of PFCs as red blood cell substitutes, as airway mechanotransducers during artificial placenta procedures, as a means to improve donor organ perfusion during the ex vivo assessment, and as an adjunct in cancer therapies because of their ability to reduce local tissue hypoxia.

BACKGROUND: In this retrospective study, we report the effectiveness and safety of a dedicated extracorporeal carbon dioxide removal (ECCO2R) device in critically ill patients. METHODS: Adult patients on mechanical ventilation due to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) or decompensated chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (dCOPD), who were treated with a dedicated ECCO2R device (CO2RESET, Eurosets, Medolla, Italy) in case of hypercapnic acidemia, were included. Repeated measurements of CO2 removal (VCO2) at baseline and 1, 12, and 24 h after the initiation of therapy were recorded. RESULTS: Over a three-year period, 11 patients received ECCO2R (median age 60 [43-72] years) 3 (2-39) days after ICU admission; nine patients had ARDS and two had dCOPD. Median baseline pH and PaCO2 levels were 7.27 (7.12-7.33) and 65 (50-84) mmHg, respectively. With a median ECCO2R blood flow of 800 (500-800) mL/min and maximum gas flow of 6 (2-14) L/min, the VCO2 at 12 h after ECCO2R initiation was 157 (58-183) mL/min. Tidal volume, respiratory rate, and driving pressure were significantly reduced over time. Few side effects were reported. CONCLUSIONS: In this study, a dedicated ECCO2R device provided a high VCO2 with a favorable risk profile.

The main objective of this study was to describe the current mechanical ventilation (MV) settings during extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome (P-ARDS) in six European centers. This is a retrospective observational cohort study performed in six European centers from January 2009 to December 2019. Children > 1 month to 18 years supported with ECMO for refractory P-ARDS were included. Collected data were as follows: patients' pre-ECMO medical condition, pre-ECMO adjunctive therapies for P-ARDS, pre-ECMO and during ECMO MV settings on day (D) 1, D3, D7, and D14 of ECMO, use of adjunctive therapies during ECMO, duration of ECMO, pediatric intensive care unit length of stay, and survival. A total of 255 patients with P-ARDS were included. The multivariate analysis showed that PEEP on D1 (OR = 1.13, 95% CI [1.03-1.24], p = 0.01); D3 (OR = 1.17, 95% CI [1.06-1.29], p = 0.001); and D14 (OR = 1.21, 95% CI [1.05-1.43], p = 0.02) and DP on D7 were significantly associated with higher odds of mortality (OR = 0.82, 95% CI [0.71-0.92], p = 0.001). Moreover, DP on D1 above 15 cmH2O (OR 2.23, 95% CI (1.09-4.71), p = 0.03) and native lung FiO2 above 60% on D14 (OR 10.36, 95% CI (1.51-116.15), p = 0.03) were significantly associated with higher odds of mortality. Conclusion: MV settings during ECMO for P-ARDS varied among centers; however, use of high PEEP levels during ECMO was associated with higher odds of mortality as well as a DP above 15 cmH2O and a native lung FiO2 above 60% on D14 of ECMO. What is Known: ⢠Invasive ventilation settings are well defined for pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome; however, once the children required an extracorporeal respiratory support, there is no recommendation how to set the mechanical ventilator. ⢠Impact of invasive ventilator during extracorporeal respiratory support ad only been during the first days of this support but the effects of these settings later in the assistance are not described. What is New: ⢠It seems to be essential to early decrease FiO2 on native lung once the ECMO flow allows an efficient oxygenation. ⢠Tight control to limit the driving pressure at 15 cmH20 during ECMO run seems to be associated with better survival rate.

Introduction: The current study aims at describing a sample of adolescents admitted to a tertiary referral pediatric hospital for drug self-poisoning and to identify variables that could explain and predict a higher severity of intoxication. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the cases of drug self-poisoning in adolescents admitted to the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital between January 2014 and June 2022 requiring consultation by the local Pediatric Poison Control Center (PPCC). We reported the type and class of drug ingested and correlated the clinical characteristics of the patients with their Poison Severity Score. Results: The data of 267 patients were reported. Most patients were female (85.8 %), with a median age of 15.8 years at presentation. Half of the patients were symptomatic at admission (44.2 %), and most had at least one psychiatric comorbidity (71.1 %). Most patients were hospitalized (79.6 %), 16.6 % of cases required antidote administration and a minority required intensive care. Most patients received a PSS score of 0 (59.6 %). The most frequently ingested drug was acetaminophen (28.1 %) followed by ibuprofen (10.1 %) and aripiprazole (10.1 %). Antipsychotics as a class were the most abused drugs (33.1 %). The correlation of clinical variables with the PSS showed that older and male patients were more prone to be severely intoxicated. Conclusions: This single-center study identifies the most commonly ingested drugs in a large sample of adolescents with voluntary drug self-poisoning, also showing that older and male patients are more susceptible to severe intoxication.

OBJECTIVES: Literature is emerging regarding the role of center volume as an independent variable contributing to improved outcomes. A higher volume of index procedures may be associated with decreased morbidity and mortality. This association has not been examined for the subgroup of infants with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) receiving extracorporeal life support (ECLS). Our study aims to examine the risk-adjusted association between center volume and outcomes in CDH-ECLS neonates, hypothesizing that higher center volume confers a survival advantage. DESIGN: Multicenter, retrospective comparative study using the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization database. SETTING: One hundred twenty international pediatric centers. PATIENTS: Neonates with CDH managed with ECLS from 2000 to 2019. INTERVENTIONS: None. MEASUREMENTS AND MAIN RESULTS: The cohort included 4,985 neonates with a mortality rate of 50.6%. For the 120 centers studied, mean center volume was 42.4 ± 34.6 CDH ECLS cases over the 20-year study period. In an adjusted model, higher ECLS volume was associated with lower odds of mortality: odds ratio (OR) 0.995 (95% CI, 0.992-0.999; p = 0.014). For an increase in one sd in volume, that is, 1.75 cases annually, the OR for mortality was lower by 16.7%. Volume was examined as a categorical exposure variable where low-volume centers (fewer than 2 cases/yr) were associated with 54% higher odds of mortality (OR, 1.54; 95% CI, 1.03-2.29) compared with high-volume centers. On-ECLS complications (mechanical, neurologic, cardiac, hematologic metabolic, and renal) were not associated with volume. The likelihood of infectious complications was higher for low- (OR, 1.90; 95% CI, 1.06-3.40) and medium-volume (OR, 1.87; 95% CI, 1.03-3.39) compared with high-volume centers. CONCLUSIONS: In this study, a survival advantage directly proportional to center volume was observed for CDH patients managed with ECLS. There was no significant difference in most complication rates. Future studies should aim to identify factors contributing to the higher mortality and morbidity observed at low-volume centers.

INTRODUCTION: ExtraCorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) in pediatric patients with COVID-19 has a survival rate similar to adults. Occasionally, patients may need to be cannulated by an ECMO team in a referring hospital and transported to an ECMO center. The ECMO transport of a COVID-19 patient has additional risks than normal pediatric ECMO transport for the possible COVID-19 transmissibility to the ECMO team and the reduction of the ECMO team performance due to the need of wearing full personal protective equipment. Since pediatric data on ECMO transport of COVID-19 patients are lacking, we explored the outcomes of the pediatric COVID-19 ECMO transports collected in the EuroECMO COVID_Neo/Ped Survey. METHODS: We reported five European consecutive ECMO transports of COVID-19 pediatric patients collected in the EuroECMO COVID_Neo/Ped Survey including 52 European neonatal and/or pediatric ECMO centers and endorsed by the EuroELSO from March 2020 till September 2021. RESULTS: The ECMO transports were performed for two indications, pediatric ARDS and myocarditis associated to the multisystem inflammatory syndrome related to COVID-19. Cannulation strategies differed among patients according to the age of the patients, transport distance varied between 8 and 390 km with a total transport duration between 5 to 15 h. In all five cases, the ECMO transports were successfully performed without major adverse events. One patient reported a harlequin syndrome and another patient a cannula displacement both without major clinical consequences. Hospital survival was 60% with one patient reporting neurological sequelae. No ECMO team member developed COVID-19 symptoms after the transport. CONCLUSION: Five transports of pediatric patients with COVID-19 supported with ECMO were reported in the EuroECMO COVID_Neo/Ped Survey. All transports were performed by an experienced multidisciplinary ECMO team and were feasible and safe for both the patient and the ECMO team. Further experiences are needed to better characterize these transports and draw insightful conclusions.

Introduction: Simulation training offers an authentic team-based learning opportunity without risk to real patients. The Educational Corner at the annual congress of the European Branch of Extracorporeal Life Support Organisation (EuroELSO) provided an opportunity for multiple simulation training sessions facilitated by experts from all over the world.Aim: We aimed to review the educational impact of EuroELSO Educational Corner and whether it provides a quality ECLS training to a wide spectrum of multidisciplinary international attendees utilising high and low fidelity simulation, workshops and hands on sessions.Methods: During the congress, 43 sessions were conducted dedicated to ECLS education with identified educational objectives. The sessions focused on management of adults and children on V-V or V-A ECMO. Adult sessions covered emergencies on mechanical circulatory support with management of LVAD and Impella, managing refractory hypoxemia on V-V ECMO, emergencies on ECMO, renal replacement therapy on ECMO, V-V ECMO, ECPR cannulation and performing perfect simulation. Paediatric sessions covered ECPR neck and central cannulation, renal replacement on ECMO, troubleshooting, cannulation workshop, V-V recirculation, ECMO for single ventricle, PIMS-TS and CDH, ECMO transport and neurological injury.Results: The Educational Corner was attended by more than 400 participants over the two congress days. Majority of responders (88%) reported that training sessions met the set educational goals and objectives and that this would change their current practice. Almost all (94%) reported that they received useful information and 95% would recommend the session to their colleagues.Conclusion: The Educational Corner, as an integral component of the annual EuroELSO congress, achieved the set educational goals and provided quality education based on the recipient survey. Structured multidisciplinary ECLS education with standardised curriculum and feedback is an important key step in delivering quality training to an international audience. Standardisation of European ECLS education remains an important focus of the EuroELSO.
