RESUMEN

Prevalent Shortwave downward radiation (SWDR) estimates assume a flat surface, neglecting topographic effects and leading to significant errors in mountainous regions. We introduce SWDR topography correction coefficients (TCCs), based on the mountain radiative transfer model tailored for the Pan-Third Pole region. This dataset effectively bridges the disparities between flat-surface SWDR and rugged-surface SWDR, forming part of the Long-term Earth System spatiotemporally Seamless Radiation budget dataset (LessRad). Validation results using a three-dimensional radiative transfer model demonstrate the efficacy of this method in correcting solar direct radiation, sky diffuse radiation, and SWDR under diverse conditions. At a spatial resolution of 2.5 arc-minutes, the correction accuracy for solar direct radiation is characterized by a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.998, a relative root mean square error (rRMSE) of 2.4%, and a relative bias (rbias) of 0.8%. For sky diffused radiation, an R² of 0.965, a rRMSE of 1.2%, and a rbias of -0.8%. SWDR corrections under clear and cloudy skies also show high accuracy, demonstrating the robustness of the TCCs approach.

Chrysanthemum × morifolium has great ornamental and economic value on account of its exquisite capitulum. However, previous studies have mainly focused on the corolla morphology of the capitulum. Such an approach cannot explain the variable inflorescence architecture of the chrysanthemum. Previous research from our group has shown that NO APICAL MERISTEM (ClNAM) is likely to function as a hub gene in capitulum architecture in the early development stage. In the present study, ClNAM was used to investigate the function of these boundary genes in the capitulum architecture of Chrysanthemum lavandulifolium, a closely related species of C. × morifolium in the genus. Modification of ClNAM in C. lavandulifolium resulted in an advanced initiation of the floral primordium at the capitulum. As a result, the receptacle morphology was altered and the number of florets decreased. The ray floret corolla was shortened, but the disc floret was elongated. The number of capitula increased significantly, arranged in more densely compounded corymbose synflorescences. The yeast and luciferase reporter system revealed that ClAP1, ClRCD2, and ClLBD18 target and activate ClNAM. Subsequently, ClNAM targets and activates ClCUC2a/c, which regulates the initiation of floral and inflorescence in C. lavandulifolium. ClNAM was also targeted and cleaved by cla-miR164 in this process. In conclusion, this study established a boundary gene regulatory network with cla-miR164-ClNAM as the hub. This network not only influences the architecture of capitulum, but also affects compound corymbose synflorescences of the C. lavandulifolium. These results provide new insights into the mechanisms regulating inflorescence architecture in chrysanthemum.

This study underscores the paramount importance of facial expressions in pigs, serving as a sophisticated mode of communication to gauge their emotions, physical well-being, and intentions. Given the inherent challenges in deciphering such expressions due to pigs' rudimentary facial muscle structure, we introduced an avant-garde pig facial expression recognition model named CReToNeXt-YOLOv5. The proposed model encompasses several refinements tailored for heightened accuracy and adeptness in detection. Primarily, the transition from the CIOU to the EIOU loss function optimized the training dynamics, leading to precision-driven regression outcomes. Furthermore, the incorporation of the Coordinate Attention mechanism accentuated the model's sensitivity to intricate expression features. A significant innovation was the integration of the CReToNeXt module, fortifying the model's prowess in discerning nuanced expressions. Efficacy trials revealed that CReToNeXt-YOLOv5 clinched a mean average precision (mAP) of 89.4%, marking a substantial enhancement by 6.7% relative to the foundational YOLOv5. Crucially, this advancement holds profound implications for animal welfare monitoring and research, as our findings underscore the model's capacity to revolutionize the accuracy of pig facial expression recognition, paving the way for more humane and informed livestock management practices.

Objective: This study was intended to explore the relationship between level of serum phosphate and prognosis in septic patients. Methods: Data were obtained from the public database, which were divided into 2 subgroups according to whether they were complicated with chronic kidney disease. Initial values of serum phosphate were extracted from patients on admission to hospital. Propensity score-matched analysis was performed. The relationship between hypophosphatemia, hyperphosphatemia and the severity of the disease in septic patients was explored separately. The lowess smoothing technique and the Kaplan-Meier method were utilized for a preliminary analysis of serum phosphate levels in relation to in-hospital mortality and 28-day survival. The initial values of serum phosphate were graded as level 1 (<1.5 mg/dL), level 2 (1.5-2.7 mg/dL), level 3 (2.7-4.5 mg/dL), level 4 (4.5-5.5 mg/dL), level 5 (5.5-6.5 mg/dL), level 6 (6.5-7.5 mg/dL) and level 7 (> 7.5 mg/dL). Multivariate logistic regression and cox regression was used to analyse the relationship between serum phosphate levels and mortality. Results: There were 4059 cases (17.4%) combined with chronic kidney disease, including 419 cases (10.3%) with hypophosphatemia and 1091 cases (26.8%) with hyperphosphatemia. There were 19224 cases (82.6%) not combined with chronic kidney disease, including 3769 cases (19.6%) hypophosphatemia and 2158 cases (11.2%) hyperphosphatemia. After propensity score-matched, in-hospital mortality, 28-day mortality, risk of septic shock was significantly higher in the 2 subgroups of hypophosphatemia patients than in normophosphatemia patients. In-hospital mortality, 28-day mortality, risk of septic shock, occurrence of renal replacement therapy, occurrence of acute renal failure, and maximum clinical score were all significantly higher in the 2 subgroups of patients with hyperphosphatemia than in patients with normophosphatemia. Multivariate logistic regression was consistent with cox regression results. In septic patients without chronic kidney disease, hypophosphatemia was an independent risk factor for death. When serum phosphate was lower, the risk of death was higher. In all septic patients, hyperphosphatemia was an independent risk factor for death. When serum phosphate was higher, the risk of death was greater. Conclusions: Both hypophosphatemia and hyperphosphatemia are associated with increased mortality in septic patients and are independent risk factors for death.

Proton-conducting materials are key components for constructing high-energy-density electronic devices. In this work, by accumulating NH4Br into the nanospace of the classical metal organic framework MIL-101-Cr, a proton conductivity as high as 1.53 × 10-1 S cm-1 was achieved at 363 K and 100% RH. The proton conduction of NH4Br@MIL-101-Cr was also high even at lower relative humidity; for instance, it was ∼10-2 S cm-1 at 75% RH. The activation energy was calculated to be 0.11 eV for NH4Br@MIL-101-Cr, indicative of tight H-bond networks and a low barrier to proton transfer, and confirming the occurrence of pure proton conduction as well.
