OBJECTIVE: To describe the disease burden of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) globally, regionally, and in 204 countries by age, sex, and sociodemographic index (SDI) from 1990 to 2019, and to explore cross-national inequalities across SDI. METHODS: The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2019 database collected data on KOA worldwide from 1990 to 2019, including prevalence, incidence, years lived with disability (YLDs). The average annual percentage change (AAPC) was used to measure temporal trends. In addition, the inequality slope index and the health concentration index were calculated to quantify the unequal distribution of the burden of KOA across 204 countries worldwide. RESULTS: In 2019, the global age-standardized prevalence rate increased by 7.5% compared with 1990, and the age-standardized incidence rate increased by about 6.2%; The age-standardized YLDs rate increased by about 7.8%. In addition to the Republic of Korea and the United States of America, the disease burden of KOA has increased year by year in other countries around the world. The incidence of KOA was highest at ages 50-59, while the prevalence and rates of YLDs were highest at ages 75-84. The burden of KOA was higher in women than in men. Cross-country inequality suggests that the inequality in the burden of KOA between high SDI and low SDI countries becomes greater, and that countries with high SDI bear a disproportionately high burden. CONCLUSION: The global KOA burden has risen steadily between 1990 and 2019, and cross-national inequality gaps remain large. Targeted measures must therefore be taken to address this inequality and the increasing global KOA disease burden.

BACKGROUND: Recent interest in the Non-High Density to High Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol ratio (NHHR) has emerged due to its potential role in metabolic disorders. However, the connection between NHHR and the development of kidney stones still lacks clarity. The primary goal of this research is to explore how NHHR correlates with kidney stone incidence. METHODS: An analysis was conducted on the data collected by the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) between 2007 and 2018, focusing on adults over 20 years diagnosed with kidney stones and those with available NHHR values. Employing weighted logistic regression and Restricted Cubic Spline (RCS) models, NHHR levels' correlation with kidney stone risk was examined. Extensive subgroup analyses were conducted for enhanced reliability of the findings. RESULTS: The findings indicate a heightened kidney stone risk for those at the highest NHHR levels relative to those at the lowest (reference group). A notable non-linear correlation of NHHR with kidney stone incidence has been observed, with a significant P-value (< 0.001), consistent across various subgroups. CONCLUSION: A clear link exists between high NHHR levels and increased kidney stone risk in the American adult population. This study highlights NHHR's significance as a potential indicator in kidney stone formation.

BACKGROUND: Kidney stones exhibit a robust correlation with cardiovascular disease (CVD). The objective of this research is to investigate the correlation between kidney stones and Life's Essential 8 (LE8), a newly updated assessment of cardiovascular health (CVH), among adults in the United States. METHODS: In this study, which analyzed data from the 2007-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, we employed LE8 scores (ranging from 0 to 100) as the independent variable, classifying them into low, moderate, and high CVH categories. The research examined the relationship between LE8 scores and kidney stones by using multivariate logistic regression and restricted cubic spline models, with kidney stones as the dependent variable. RESULTS: Out of the 14,117 participants in this research, the weighted mean LE8 score was 69.70 ± 0.27. After accounting for confounding factors, there was an inverse association between higher LE8 scores and the likelihood of developing kidney stones (OR of 0.81 per 10-point increase, with a 95% confidence interval of 0.77-0.85), demonstrating a non-linear dose-response pattern. Similar patterns were observed for health behaviors, health factor scores, and kidney stones. Stratified analyses demonstrated a stable negative correlation between LE8 scores and kidney stones across different subgroups. CONCLUSION: LE8 and its subscale scores exhibited a robust and inverse correlation with the occurrence of kidney stones. Encouraging adherence to optimal CVH levels has the potential to serve as an effective strategy in preventing and minimizing the occurrence of kidney stones.

Background: Open debridement remains the gold standard for the clinical treatment of post-traumatic elbow stiffness. However, postoperative complications, such as re-contraction and heterotopic ossification of the elbow joint, are highly prevalent. Hinged external fixation appears to offer the potential for greater improvement of joint function and reduction of complications. The purpose of this article is to provide the latest evidence on the effectiveness and safety of hinged external fixation combined with open debridement for the treatment of post-traumatic elbow stiffness. Methods: We searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure, MEDLINE, PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library databases until December 31, 2022. STATA 15.1 software was used to analyze all the data for this article. The quality of the included articles was evaluated using the Cochrane Reviewer's Handbook 5.3. Results: Finally, we selected 8 high-quality RCTs for our meta-analysis, which included 555 patients. The meta-analysis demonstrated that hinged external fixation combined with open debridement for post-traumatic elbow stiffness (treatment group) showed a significant increase in elbow flexion and extension mobility (WMD = 5.16, 95% CI 4.39-5.49, Z = 13.02, P = 0.000), Mayo elbow function scores (WMD = 5.25, 95% CI 4.33-6.17, Z = 11.15, P = 0.000), and Mayo excellent rate (RR = 1.25, 95% CI 1.14-1.37, Z = 4.87, P = 0.000). Additionally, there was a significant decrease in the complication rate (RR = 1.11, 95% CI 1.02-1.20, Z = 2.54, P = 0.011) compared to open debridement alone (control group). Furthermore, the results of the publication bias test showed no significant bias. Conclusions: With the assistance of hinged external fixation, open debridement for post-traumatic elbow stiffness can lead to increased elbow mobility and a reduced complication rate. However, due to the small sample size, a multicenter randomized controlled trial with a larger sample size is still necessary to further confirm the effectiveness and safety of hinged external fixation combined with open debridement for post-traumatic elbow stiffness. Hypoxia is an essential hallmark of solid tumors and HIF1α is a central regulator of tumor cell adaptation and survival in the hypoxic environment. In this study, we explored the biological functions of cell cycle division-related gene 8 (CDCA8) in bladder cancer (BCa) cells in the hypoxic settings. Specifically, we found that CDCA8 was significantly upregulated in BCa cell lines and clinical samples and its expression was positively correlated with advanced BCa stage, grade, and poor overall survival (OS). The expression of CDCA8 proteins was required for BCa cells to survive in the hypoxic condition. Mechanistically, CDCA8 stabilizes HIF1α by competing with PTEN for AKT binding, consequently leading to PTEN displacement and activation of the AKT/GSK3ß signaling cascade that stimulates HIF1α protein stability. Significantly, HIF1α proteins bind to CDCA8 promoter for transcriptional activation, forming a positive-feedback loop to sustain BCa tumor cells under oxygen-deficient environment. Together, we defined CDCA8 as a key regulator for BCa cells to sense and prevail oxygen deprivation and as a novel BCa therapeutic target.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate efficacy between arthroscopic popliteal cyst drainage and arthroscopic popliteal cyst resection. METHODS: From January 2013 to June 2021, 54 patients with popliteal cyst (Rausching-Lindgren gradeⅠto Ⅲ) were treated with arthroscopic surgery. There were 24 males and 30 females. The age ranged from 44 to 72 years old, with a mean of (62.67±6.08) years old. The course of the disease ranged from 1 to 72 months, with a mean of(15±14) months. Twenty-four patients (group A) were underwent arthroscopic internal drainage of popliteal cyst. Thirty patients (group B) were underwent arthroscopic resection of popliteal cyst. Preoperative main symptoms included knee pain, swelling, walking pain, popliteal swelling, popliteal mass and so on. After 1, 3, 6 months and 1, 2 years of surgery, routine outpatient follow-up was conducted to observe and compare the surgical time, bleeding volume, preoperative and postoperative visual analog scale (VAS), knee Lysholm score, and complications between two groups. RESULTS: All incisions healed at one stage after operation. All 54 patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 6 months to 2 years, with an average of (13.89±4.29) months. There was no intraoperative vascular or nerve injury. Operation time and intraoperative blood loss of the two groups:group A of (62.08±9.55) min and (8.00±1.69) ml, group B of (69.50±6.99) min and (8.70±2.00) ml. Popliteal pain, swelling, limitation of flexion and extension were significantly relieved after operation. VAS before and one month after operation between two groups:group A of 5.38±1.21 and 2.63±0.71, group B of 5.60±1.26 and 2.80±0.81. Lysholm scores of knee joint before and 6 months after operation:group A of 62.59±4.99 and 89.74±2.90, group B of 63.87±3.23 and 89.02±2.35. Knee joint function improved significantly in both groups. In group A, 4 cases had popliteal cyst at 3 months after operation, and 2 cases had small isolated cyst at 1 year after operation. There was no recurrence of cyst in group B. CONCLUSION: The results between two arthroscopic treatments of popliteal cyst are satisfactory, and there is no significant difference in the amount of blood loss, safety, postoperative pain VAS score and knee function recovery. It is suggested that arthroscopic resection of the cyst wall should be performed when the technique is mature, especially for large cysts and septal cysts.

Background: Neuropathic pain (NP) takes a heavy toll on individual life quality, yet gaps in its molecular characterization persist and effective therapy is lacking. This study aimed to provide comprehensive knowledge by combining transcriptomic and proteomic data of molecular correlates of NP in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), a cortical hub responsible for affective pain processing. Methods: The NP model was established by spared nerve injury (SNI) in Sprague-Dawley rats. RNA sequencing and proteomic data from the ACC tissue isolated from sham and SNI rats 2 weeks after surgery were integrated to compare their gene and protein expression profiles. Bioinformatic analyses were performed to figure out the functions and signaling pathways of the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) enriched in. Results: Transcriptomic analysis identified a total of 788 DEGs (with 49 genes upregulated) after SNI surgery, while proteomic analysis found 222 DEPs (with 89 proteins upregulated). While Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analyses of the DEGs suggested that most of the altered genes were involved in synaptic transmission and plasticity, bioinformatics analysis of the DEPs revealed novel critical pathways associated with autophagy, mitophagy, and peroxisome. Notably, we noticed functionally important NP-related changes in the protein that occurred in the absence of corresponding changes at the level of transcription. Venn diagram analysis of the transcriptomic and proteomic data identified 10 overlapping targets, among which only three genes (XK-related protein 4, NIPA-like domain-containing 3, and homeodomain-interacting protein kinase 3) showed concordance in the directions of change and strong correlations between mRNA and protein levels. Conclusion: The present study identified novel pathways in the ACC in addition to confirming previously reported mechanisms for NP etiology, and provided novel mechanistic insights for future research on NP treatment. These findings also imply that mRNA profiling alone fails to provide a complete landscape of molecular pain in the ACC. Therefore, explorations of changes at the level of protein are necessary to understand NP processes that are not transcriptionally modulated.

The bill of materials (BOM) runs through all stages of the life cycle of manufacturing products, which is the core of manufacturing enterprises. With increasing complexity of modern manufacturing engineering and widespread using of intelligent manufacturing technology, the BOM data keeps rising and transformation process is increasingly frequent and complicated. In order to improve efficiency of BOM management and ensure the diversity, accuracy and consistency of BOM in the product development, the BOM multi-view integrated management and mapping method for complex products were researched. First, a complex product BOM integrated management framework and the evolution model based on multiple views were established which described the BOM integrated management mechanism and transformation relationship among different BOMs. Subsequently, process of BOM transformation was analyzed, and a BOM transformation model was proposed. Moreover, a rule-based BOM multi-view mapping algorithm was proposed. With the rule definition and mathematical modelling for key components, the complex mapping principle was elaborated. Finally, the BOM multi-view transformation cases and the prototype system were illustrated and discussed, which verified the feasibility and versatility of model and method.

BACKGROUND: Optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) is a promising, noninvasive invasive intracranial pressure (ICP) measurement method. This study aims to analyze the differences in ONSD between the left and right eyeballs and the differences in ultrasonic measurement between the transverse and sagittal planes. METHODS: Data from a total of 50 eligible patients with various types of brain injury who were admitted to our hospital from May 2019 to June 2021 were analyzed. An ONSD assessment was then performed using Philips B-mode ultrasound, measuring ONSD 3 mm posterior to the eyeballs. The left and right ONSDs in the transverse and sagittal planes were measured. Intraparenchymal fiber optic sensors and catheters were inserted into the ventricles and connected to an external pressure transducer to measure ICP. RESULTS: A total of 164 sonographic measurements of ONSD were performed in 50 patients with brain injury in a prospective observational study. Statistically significant differences were found in ONSD between the transverse and sagittal planes. The difference in the left ONSD between the transverse and sagittal planes was 0.007 ± 0.030 cm (P = 0.003). The Spearman rank correlation test showed that the correlation coefficient between ICP and left/right ONSD in the transverse/sagittal planes was 0.495 vs 0.546 and 0.559 vs 0.605, respectively. The results showed that the areas under the curve of ONSD in the transverse and sagittal planes were 0.843 and 0.805, respectively. Medcalc software was used to compare the areas under the receiver operator characteristic curve, and the results showed that ONSD in the sagittal plane is generally better than in the transverse plane (P = 0.0145). CONCLUSIONS: This study found that ONSD in the sagittal plane is superior to the transverse plane regarding the comprehensive efficacy of ICP, and unilateral measurement is sufficient.

Background: Different wavelengths of ultraviolet (UV) light cause skin damage through different mechanisms. Minimal erythema dose (MED) is usually used to clinically evaluate skin sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation by inducing skin erythema using ultraviolet B (UVB) or ultraviolet A (UVA) + UVB. Aims: In this study, we detected changes in the blood flow at the MED erythema caused by UVB and UVA + UVB radiation through optical coherence tomography (OCT) to explain the role of different bands of ultraviolet rays in erythema induction. Methods: Two MED irradiation areas on the subjects' back were irradiated with UVB alone or UVA + UVB (UVA: UVB = 8:1). The absolute energy of UVB remained the same in UVB and UVA+UVB. At 24 h after the irradiation, the changes in the blood flow in the MED area were detected using OCT. Results: Compared with the blank control, the maximum blood flow depth, blood flow peak, and total blood flow of UVB-MED and UVA+UVB-MED were significantly increased. Notably, the maximum blood flow depth and blood flow peak of UVB-MED were higher than UVA+UVB-MED. There was no significant difference in total blood perfusion between UVA+UVB-MED and UVB-MED. Under the same UVB energy, the skin erythema caused by UVA + UVB was weaker than UVB alone. Conclusions: The analysis of local blood flow by OCT showed that the peak and maximum depth of local blood flow caused by UVB alone were significantly higher than UVA + UVB.

A novel method for the construction of a cyclopenta[c]quinoline ring via cyclization of 3-bromoindoles with internal alkynes in the presence of palladium is described. The formation of the cyclopenta[c]quinoline ring is proposed from a double [1,5] carbon sigmatropic rearrangement of the spirocyclic cyclopentadiene intermediate, which is generated in situ from the cyclization of 3-bromoindoles with internal alkynes involving a sequential double alkyne insertion into the carbon-palladium bond and dearomatization of indole. The present studies have developed a novel ring-expansion reaction of the pyrrole ring to pyridine via one carbon insertion into the C2-C3 bond of indoles and provided a simple and distinct route for the construction of tricyclic fused-quinoline derivatives that are not easy to access with conventional methods.

We propose a modified configuration of the nonlinear-optical loop mirror (NOLM) unit by introducing the polarization-effect optimization (PE) into a nonlinear Sagnac interferometer through a polarization-maintaining optical coupler, enabling significant extension of the regeneration region (RR) of the all-optical multi-level amplitude regenerator. We carry out the thoughtful investigations on this PE-NOLM subsystem, and reveal the collaboration mechanism between the Kerr nonlinearity and the PE effect in only one unit. Moreover, the proof-of-concept experiment and its theoretical discussion of multiple-level operation have been performed, observing the 188% enhancement on the RR extending and the consequent 4.5 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) improvement for a 4-level pulse amplitude modulated (PAM4) signal compared to the conventional NOLM scheme.

Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of TightRope system combined with Locking-Loop biplane anatomical reconstruction technique in the treatment of acute acromioclavicular joint dislocation. Methods: A clinical data of 28 patients with acute acromioclavicular joint dislocation who met the selection criteria and admitted between June 2018 and December 2021 was retrospectively analyzed. There were 18 males and 10 females, with an average age of 47.7 years (range, 22-72 years). The causes of injury included falling (13 cases) and traffic accidents (15 cases). The acromioclavicular joint dislocation was rated as Rockwood type Ⅲ in 7 cases, type Ⅳ in 16 cases, and type Ⅴ in 5 cases. The time from injury to operation was 4-13 days, with an average of 9.5 days. The acromioclavicular joint dislocation was reconstructed with TightRope system and high-strength wire by Locking-Loop methods during operation. The operation time and complications were recorded. Visual analogue scale (VAS) score, Constant-Murley score, and active range of motion of shoulder (forward flexion and upward lift, abduction and upward lift, and external rotation) were recorded before operation and at 12 months after operation to evaluate the functional recovery of shoulder. The loss of acromioclavicular joint reduction was assessed by comparing the coracoclavicular distance (CCD) based on the anteroposterior X-ray films at 3 days and 12 months after operation. Results: The operation time was 58-100 minutes (median, 85 minutes). All incisions healed by first intention. All patients were followed up 12 months. During follow-up, 2 patients developed shoulder adhesion, which recovered after rehabilitation exercise. At 12 months after operation, the VAS score was significantly lower, the Constant-Murley score was significantly higher, and the range of motion of the shoulder joint (forward flexion and upward lift, abduction and upward lift, and external rotation) significantly increased when compared with preoperative ones ( P<0.05). X-ray films showed that the CCD was 8.4 (7.3, 9.4) and 9.2 (8.1, 10.1) mm at 3 days and 12 months after operation, respectively, with a significant difference ( Z=-4.665, P<0.001). During follow-up, there was no complication such as infection, titanium plate entrapment, fracture, internal fixation failure, or redislocation. Conclusion: The treatment of acute acromioclavicular joint dislocation with TightRope system combined with Locking-Loop biplane anatomical reconstruction has the advantages of small incision, joint reduction under direct vision, high fixation strength, and low incidence of postoperative complications, which can effectively relieve the pain of patients' shoulder joint and facilitate the recovery of shoulder joint function.

Soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) serves as a potential target in inflammation-related diseases. Based on the bioactivity-guided separation, a new sesquiterpenoid inulajaponoid A (1) was isolated from Inula japonica with a sEH inhibitory effect, together with five known compounds, such as 1-O-acetyl-6-O-isobutyrylbritannilactone (2), 6ß-hydroxytomentosin (3), 1ß,8ß-dihydroxyeudesma-4(15),11(13)-dien-12,6α-olide (4), (4S,6S,7S,8R)-1-O-acetyl-6-O-(3-methylvaleryloxy)-britannilactone (5), and 1-acetoxy-6α-(2-methylbutyryl)eriolanolide (6). Among them, compounds 1 and 6 were assigned as mixed and uncompetitive inhibitors, respectively. The result of immunoprecipitation (IP)-MS demonstrated the specific binding of compound 6 to sEH in the complex system, which was further confirmed by the fluorescence-based binding assay showing its equilibrium dissociation constant (Kd = 2.43 µM). The detail molecular stimulation revealed the mechanism of action of compound 6 with sEH through the hydrogen bond of amino acid residue Gln384. Furthermore, this natural sEH inhibitor (6) could suppress the MAPK/NF-κB activation to regulate inflammatory mediators, such as NO, TNF-α, and IL-6, which confirmed the anti-inflammatory effect of inhibition of sEH by 6. These findings provided a useful insight to develop sEH inhibitors upon the sesquiterpenoids.

A complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) can provide important information for gene rearrangement, molecular evolution and phylogenetic analysis. Currently, only a few mitogenomes of hermit crabs (superfamily Paguridae) in the infraorder Anomura have been reported. This study reports the first complete mitogenome of the hermit crab Diogenes edwardsii assembled using high-throughput sequencing. The mitogenome of Diogenes edwardsii is 19,858 bp in length and comprises 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and 22 transfer RNA genes. There are 28 and six genes observed on the heavy and light strands, respectively. The genome composition was highly A + T biased (72.16%), and exhibited a negative AT-skew (-0.110) and positive GC-skew (0.233). Phylogenetic analyses based on the nucleotide dataset of 16 Anomura species indicated that D. edwardsii was closest related to Clibanarius infraspinatus in the same family, Diogenidae. Positive selection analysis showed that two residues located in cox1 and cox2 were identified as positively selected sites with high BEB value (>95%), indicating that these two genes are under positive selection pressure. This is the first complete mitogenome of the genus Diogenes, and this finding helps us to represent a new genomic resource for hermit crab species and provide data for further evolutionary status of Diogenidae in Anomura.

For stochastic nonlinear systems (SNSs) perturbed by compound uncertainties, the conventional model-based control approaches assume that the evolution behavior of uncertain variables is known. Unfortunately, such approaches are often conservative for most practical scenarios with the slow convergence speed and unsatisfactory anti-interference performance. For this sake, an adaptive control scheme based on deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) and multi-dimensional Taylor network (MTN) is proposed here to address the tracking problem for a category of SNSs subject to fast time-varying uncertainties, stochastic disturbance and unknown time-varying delays. The effect of time delay is embedded in the reproducing kernel Hilbert space through the error coordinate transformation. In the framework of DDPG, the MTN-based surrogate is utilized to construct the online network and target network via the temporal-difference method, which promises more desirable real-time performance due to its concise structure than conventional NN-based surrogates. In order to enhance the robustness of the system under fast time-varying uncertainties, a novel persistent excitation (PE) mechanism is designed to ensure that the control policy is appropriately rewarded or punished. Based on the PE condition, weights of MTNs converge exponentially and animate the system to evolve towards the target persistently. The tracking error and closed-loop state signals are proved theoretically to be uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB) via Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. A numerical simulation from the process industry verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method.

OBJECTIVE: To explore clinical effect of lateral locking compression plate combined with medial buttress plate in treating osteoporotic comminuted fractures of proximal humerus. METHODS: From May 2017 to December 2021, 12 patients with osteoporotic comminution of proximal humerus were treated by lateral locking compression plates combined with medial buttress plates, including 5 males and 7 females, aged from 55 to 78 years old, bone mineral density(BMD) less than -2.5 g/cm3, the time from injury to operation was from 2 to 6 days. According to Neer classification, 7 patients were type Ⅲ, 4 patients were type Ⅳ and 1 patient was type Ⅵ. Postoperative complications, fracture healing and internal fixation were observed and Constant-Murley score of shoulder joint was used to evaluate clinical effects at 6 months after operation. RESULTS: Postoperative wound healed well at stage I. All patients were followed up from 6 to 18 months. Humeral head collapse and necrosis occurred in 1 patient and humeral head varus in 1 patient. No impact of shoulder joint, internal fixation loosening occurred. Constant-Murley score at 6 months ranged from 45 to 90 points, and 6 patients got excellent result, 3 good, and 3 poor. CONCLUSION: Locking compression plate combined with medial buttress plate could effectively reconstruct medial humeral column support and enhance fracture stability, and receive satisfactory clinical results. However, no control group was established in this study, and function of shoulder joint has not been evaluated many times after operation, so it cannot dynamically reflect changes of shoulder joint function.

Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of arthroscopic long head of biceps tendon (LHBT) transposition combined with Swivelock anchor double fixation in treatment of massive and irreparable rotator cuff tears. Methods: Between June 2019 and November 2021, 25 patients with massive and irreparable rotator cuff tears were treated by arthroscopic LHBT transposition combined with Swivelock anchor double fixation. There were 12 males and 13 females. The age ranged from 47 to 74 years (mean, 62.4 years). The disease duration ranged from 1 to 62 months (median, 7 months). The rotator cuff tears were classified as Hamada grade 2 in 25 cases and Goutallier grade 1 in 2 cases, grade 2 in 22 cases, and grade 3 in 1 case. Pre- and post-operative shoulder range of motion (ROM), visual analogue scale (VAS) score, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) score, and Constant-Murley score were recorded. Postoperative complications were observed. The reconstructed tissue integrity was confirmed by MRI. Results: All operations were successfully completed. The operation time was 120-330 minutes (mean, 189.6 minutes). All incisions healed by first intention. All patients were followed up 10-36 months (mean, 22.0 months). At last follow-up, the ROM in forward flexion, abduction, and external rotation, VAS score, UCLA score, and Constant-Murley score were superior to those before operation, and the differences were significant ( P<0.05). According to UCLA scoring standard, shoulder joint function was rated as excellent in 5 cases, good in 18 cases, and poor in 2 cases, with an excellent and good rate of 92.0%. No other complications occurred except shoulder joint adhesion in 2 cases. At last follow-up, MRI examination showed no retear of rotator cuff, and LHBT was intact. Conclusion: For massive and irreparable rotator cuff tears, arthroscopic LHBT transposition combined with Swivelock anchor double fixation can increase the force of pressing the humeral head, effectively relieve the pain, improve the ROM of joints, maximize the recovery of shoulder function, and do not increase the number of anchor nails.

RESUMEN

Fluorescent probes have emerged as indispensable chemical tools to the field of chemical biology and medicine. The ability to detect intracellular species and monitor physiological processes has not only advanced our knowledge in biology but has provided new approaches towards disease diagnosis. In this review, we detail the design criteria and strategies for some recently reported fluorescent probes that can detect a wide range of biologically important species in cells and in vivo. In doing so, we highlight the importance of each biological species and their role in biological systems and for disease progression. We then discuss the current problems and challenges of existing technologies and provide our perspective on the future directions of the research area. Overall, we hope this review will provide inspiration for researchers and prove as useful guide for the development of the next generation of fluorescent probes.

Cu(OH)2 nanomaterials are widely investigated for non-enzymatic glucose sensors due to their low-cost and excellent performance. Cu(OH)2 nanomaterials usually grow on substrates to form sensor electrodes. Reported works mainly focus on structure adjusting of the Cu(OH)2 nanostructures, while the optimization of substrates is still lacking. In the present work, directional porous Cu (DPC) was applied as the substrate for the growth of Cu(OH)2 nanograss (NG), and hierarchical structures of Cu(OH)2@DPC were prepared by alkaline oxidation. The morphology and microstructure evolution of the prepared hierarchical structures was investigated, and the non-enzymatic glucose sensing performance was evaluated. Cu(OH)2@DPC exhibits enhanced comprehensive non-enzymatic glucose sensing performance compared to the reported ones, which may benefit from both the effective adsorption of the Cu(OH)2 NG with a relatively high surface area and the high solute exchange of the DPC by a channel effect. This work provides new insights into the further improvement of the non-enzymatic glucose sensing performance of Cu(OH)2 nanostructures by optimizing the substrate structure.
