RESUMEN
Due to the bioavailability and movement of antimony in trophic web, the overexploitation of antimony mine resulted in antimony contamination that harmed the ecology nearby, raising concerns for public health. Whereas, most researches focused on the removal of antimony in the aqueous instead of the immobilization of antimony in the soil. Herein, the immobilized performance of biochar (BC) loaded with nano zero-valent iron (nZVI-BC) on antimony in the soil near the smelting area was researched through pot experiments for the first time, and its stabilization mechanism on antimony was investigated by valent state variation of antimony. The results demonstrated that BC restricted the cation exchange capacity and catalase activity in the soil, while nZVI-BC had a favorable and negative impact on two variables, respectively. The nZVI-BC showed more stable immobilization capacity on antimony over time than BC, whose exchangeable speciation only marginally rose (2%-6%), although the exchangeable speciation of antimony fell both from 15% to 2% after adding the BC and nZVI-BC, The electron attraction force between nZVI-BC and antimony was also intensified owing to the oxidation-reduction process, which was considered as the stabilizing principle of nZVI-BC on antimony in soil. Furthermore, the decreased bioaccumulation factor for the perennial ryegrass (0.46-0.21) and Galinsoga parviflora Cav. (0.26-0.17) stated that the BC effectively mitigated the bioaccumulation risk of antimony.

The fate of fluoroquinolone antibiotics norfloxacin and ofloxacin were investigated in mesocosmic wetlands, along with their effects on nutrients removal, antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and epiphytic microbial communities on Hydrilla verticillate using bionic plants as control groups. Approximately 99% of norfloxacin and ofloxacin were removed from overlaying water, and H. verticillate inhibited fluoroquinolones accumulation in surface sediments compared to bionic plants. Partial least squares path modeling showed that antibiotics significantly inhibited the nutrient removal capacity (0.55) but had no direct effect on plant physiology. Ofloxacin impaired wetland performance more strongly than norfloxacin and more impacted the primary microbial phyla, whereas substrates played the most decisive role on microbial diversities. High antibiotics concentration shifted the most dominant phyla from Proteobacteria to Bacteroidetes and inhibited the Xenobiotics biodegradation function, contributing to the aggravation in wetland performance. Dechloromonas and Pseudomonas were regarded as the key microorganisms for antibiotics degradation. Co-occurrence network analysis excavated that microorganisms degrade antibiotics mainly through co-metabolism, and more complexity and facilitation/reciprocity between microbes attached to submerged plants compared to bionic plants. Furthermore, environmental factors influenced ARGs mainly by altering the community dynamics of differential bacteria. This study offers new insights into antibiotic removal and regulation of ARGs accumulation in wetlands with submerged macrophyte.

The discharge of tailing leachate and metallurgical wastewater has led to an increasing trend of water pollution. In this study, nZVI-modified low-temperature biochar was used to adsorb Sb(III) from water. The adsorption capacity and speed of nZVI-BC were better than those of BC, and the best adsorption effect was observed for 4nZVI-BC, with 93.60 mg·g-1 maximum adsorptive capacity, which was 208.61% higher than the original BC. The Langmuir and Temkin models were well fitted (R2 ≥ 0.99), and PSO was more in line with the 4nZVI-BC adsorption process, indicating that the adsorption was a monolayer physico-chemical adsorption. The combination of XRD, FTIR, and XPS characterization demonstrated that the adsorption mechanism predominantly included redox reactions, complexation, and electrostatic interactions. The thermodynamic results demonstrated that 4nZVI-BC adsorption on Sb(III) was a spontaneous endothermic process. Additionally, the order of the influence of interfering ions on 4nZVI-BC was CO32- > H2PO4- > SO42- > Cl-. After three repeated uses and adsorption-desorption, the adsorption ratio of Sb(III) by 4nZVI-BC was still as high as 90% and 65%, respectively. This study provides a theoretical reference for the exploration and development of Sb(III) removal technologies for aquatic environments.

Although in vitro simulation and in vivo feeding experiments are commonly used to evaluate the carrier role of microplastics in the bioaccumulation of toxic chemicals, there is no direct method for quantitatively determining their vector effect. In this study, we propose a dual-labeled method based on spiking unlabeled hydrophobic organic contaminants (HOCs) into soils and spiking their respective isotope-labeled reference compounds into microplastic particles. The bioaccumulation of the unlabeled and isotope-labeled HOCs in Eisenia fetida earthworms was compared. Earthworms can assimilate both unlabeled and isotope-labeled HOCs via three routes: dermal uptake, soil ingestion, and microplastic ingestion. After 28 days of exposure, the relative fractions of bioaccumulated isotope-labeled HOCs in the soil treated with 1% microplastics ranged from 15.5 to 55.8%, which were 2.9-47.6 times higher than those in the soils treated with 0.1% microplastics. Polyethylene microplastics were observed to have higher relative fractions of bioaccumulated isotope-labeled HOCs, potentially because of their surface hydrophobicity and amorphous rubbery state. The general linear models suggested that the vector effects were mainly due to the microplastic concentration, followed by polymer properties and HOC hydrophobicity. This proposed method and the derived empirical formula contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the vector effects of microplastics for HOC bioaccumulation.

The advanced physical techniques are introduced briefly at firstly. Additionally, evaluate on chemical method for plastic decomposition and review on biotic degradation of plastic. The reactive oxygen species and the enzymes play a crucial role in chemical and biotic degradation processes, respectively. The reactive oxygen species are derived from the activated state of oxides, and the enzymes that aid the microorganism to ingest plastic through its metabolic mechanism are secreted by the microorganism. Subsequently, the potential possibility of upcycling plastic is analyzed from two aspects of the technology and application. The innovative technology utilizes sunlight as driver-power of plastic upcycling. And the carbon capture, utilization and sequestration and the growth substrate provided the novel guided directions for plastic recycle. Lastly, the three suggestions on plastic waste management are expected to establish an economy and efficient plastic sorting system, and two engineering solutions on plastic recycle are to make a contribution for sustainable upcycling of plastic.

Single-crystal sapphire (α-Al2O3) is an important material and widely used in many advanced fields. The semi-fixed abrasive grain processing method based on solid-phase reaction theory is a prominent processing method for achieving ultra-precision damage-free surfaces. In order to develop the proposed method for polishing sapphire, the basic characteristics of the semi-fixed abrasive grains polishing tool for polishing sapphire were determined. Weight analysis was used to study the influence rules of parameters on surface roughness and material removal rates using an orthogonal experiment. Then, the optimized polishing tool was obtained through a mixture of abrasive particle sizes to reduce the difficulty in molding the polishing tool. Finally, polishing experiments using different polishing tools were carried out to investigate polishing performance by considering the surface roughness, material removal rate and the surface morphology during polishing. The results showed that (1) external load affects the surface roughness and material removal rate the most, followed by abrasive particle size, sand bond ratio, revolution speed of the workpiece and he polishing tool; (2) the difficulty in manufacturing the polishing tool could be reduced by mixing larger abrasive particles with small abrasive particles; (3) the polishing tool with 200 nm and 1 µm particle sizes performed best in the first 210 min polishing.
RESUMEN
As rapid industrial and social growth, antimony mines are the overexploited, leading to the accumulation of trivalent antimony in the aquatic environment near smelters, which harm human health. To eradicate trivalent antimony from water, an innovative nanomaterial in the form of sludge biochar loaded with zero-valent bimetal was synthesized using a liquid-phase reduction method. The adsorption performance of the nanomaterial for trivalent antimony was investigated based on a series of adsorption experiments using sludge biochar, nano zero-valent iron biochar, and nano zero-valent bimetal biochar. The results showed that the optimal adsorption performance of the three nanomaterials for trivalent antimony, considering the economic practicability, was highlighted at solution pH of 3 and 0.05 g of nanomaterial. Additionally, the maximum adsorption capacity of sludge biochar, nano zero-valent iron biochar, and nano zero-valent bimetal biochar is 3.89 mg g-1 at 35 °C, 32.01 mg g-1 at 25 °C, 50.96 mg g-1 at 25 °C, respectively. The adsorption process of sludge biochar is endothermic, resulting in an increase in the adsorption capacity with increasing temperature, whereas the exothermic reaction contributes to decrease in the adsorption capacity at increasing temperature for the other two carbon nanomaterials. The inhibitory effect of coexisting ions was in the order: Al3+ > NH4+ > Na+ > K+; CO32- > CH3COO- > H2PO4- > S2-. Additionally, nanomaterials promoted seed germination and growth. Investigation of the adsorption mechanism using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed that trivalent antimony was oxidised to pentavalent antimony, and Fe(III) was reduced to Fe(II). The formed primary battery formed by copper ions and iron acclerated electron transfer and improved the adsorption rate. This implied that trivalent antimony could be removed through the synergistic action of the adsorption behaviour and redox reaction. Therefore, the biochar loaded with the zero-valent bimetal serves as a pathway for eradicating trivalent antimony.
