RESUMEN

For the purpose to determine the clinic-pathogenetic efficacy of Cycloferon liniment in the combined therapy of parodontitis of patients with focal tuberculosis medical examination and treatment of 40 patients is carried out. It is established, that use of liniment Cycloferon in the combined treatment of patients with focal tuberculosis allows to accelerate process of normalization of lipid peroxidation parameters and antioxidant potential of blood, to decrease infection load (Herpes symplex virus I, Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus) in parodontal recess and evidence of local inflammation with reduction of activity of the tumours necrosis factor and interleukin 1beta, that provides acceleration of recuperation processes, lowering the frequency of parodontitis relapses.

RESUMEN

The specific features of contingents of patients with respiratory tuberculosis were studied during the sanatorium-stage treatment in 2004-2005. Out of 317 patients (57.4% females and 42.6% males), 70.7% of the patients aged under 45 years; the females were more frequently observed to have focal forms of the disease whereas the males had infiltrative forms and were more frequently operated on for tuberculosis. 27.1% of the patients (more commonly males) had underweight (more than 10 kg body weight deficiency); 36.3% were unemployed; the women's social status was higher than the men's; 72.5% of the patients had comorbidity. Drug intolerability was observed in 21.8% of the patients and 20.5% did not complete treatment. The above features complicate a rehabilitative process and require a significant correction of the treatment recommended by dispensaries, as well as additional therapeutic and diagnostic measures.

RESUMEN

The phthisiology teaching program for non-phthisiological physicians provides for the extension and strengthening of skills in diagnosis, differential diagnosis, intensive care, medical and surgical treatment, anesthesiology and resuscitation in patients with tuberculosis and in its prevention and early detection. The effective training of physicians is determined by the teacher's professional competence and the trainees' needs for the efficiency of an educational process. A great role in building up practical skills is played by the physicians' independent work that is an integral part of improvement of clinical thought and that is most significant in building up knowledge and skills. The efficiency of training envisages different forms of control: verbal, written, testing, practical, and combined, each being actively used while teaching phthisiology in non-phthisiological physicians.

RESUMEN

In the past 5 years, the epidemiological situation associated with tuberculosis has greatly aggravated in the high ecological risk areas (the towns of Engels and Volsk) of the Saratov region. Morbidity has increased from 40 to 48 per 100,000 persons (to 79 in Engles). The proportion of destructive and acutely progressive types of pulmonary tuberculosis and the number of those died from tuberculosis among the followed up at the tuberculosis dispensary are on the increase.
