RESUMEN

There is little research about the stress, quality of life (QOL) and gut microbiota in newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. In this study addressing the dearth of research on stress, quality of life (QOL), and gut microbiota in newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, 82 individuals were prospectively observed. Utilizing the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy (FACT)-Breast questionnaire to assess health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and the Distress Thermometer (DT) to gauge distress levels, the findings revealed a mean FACT-B score of 104.5, underscoring HRQOL's varied impact. Significantly, 53.7% reported moderate to severe distress, with a mean DT score of 4.43. Further exploration uncovered compelling links between distress levels, FACT-B domains, and microbial composition. Notably, Alcaligenaceae and Sutterella were more abundant in individuals with higher DT scores at the family and genus levels (p = 0.017), while Streptococcaceae at the family level and Streptococcus at the genus level were prevalent in those with lower DT scores (p = 0.028 and p = 0.023, respectively). This study illuminates the intricate interplay of stress, QOL, and gut microbiota in newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, offering valuable insights for potential interventions of biomarker or probiotics aimed at alleviating stress and enhancing QOL in this patient cohort.

BACKGROUND: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease that primarily affects young women, has many different manifestations, and the disease severity can wax and wane. OBJECTIVES: This study aims to determine the association between prior bariatric surgery and SLE outcomes. SETTING: A population-based, retrospective study using data from the U.S. Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS) database between 2005 and 2018. METHODS: Data of hospitalized patients with SLE and morbid obesity were extracted. Exclusion criteria were age <18 years and missing information on mortality. Patients were separated into 2 groups: with or without prior bariatric surgery. One: 4 propensity score matching (PSM) were performed to balance the characteristics between the groups. Associations between prior bariatric surgery and inpatient outcomes were determined by logistic regressions. RESULTS: A total of 38,286 hospitalized patients with SLE and morbid obesity were identified. After exclusions and PSM, there remained 9050 subjects in the study sample (with prior bariatric surgery: 1810; without prior bariatric surgery: 7240), representing 44,952 U.S. inpatients. After adjusting for confounders in multivariable analysis, prior bariatric surgery was significantly associated with lower odds for prolonged length of stay (LOS), unfavorable discharge, and SLE-related complications. Specifically, prior bariatric surgery was significantly associated with lower risks of acute myocardial infarction (AMI)/stroke (aOR = .44, 95% CI: .30-.65), venous thromboembolism (VTE) (aOR = .74, 95% CI: .57-.96), pneumonia (aOR = .60, 95% CI: .47-.76), sepsis (aOR = .62, 95% CI: .51-.75), acute and chronic glomerulonephritis (aOR = .53, 95% CI: .38-.76), acute kidney injury (AKI) (aOR = .64, 95% CI: .52-.77), and anemia (aOR = .77, 95% CI: .68-.87). CONCLUSIONS: Prior bariatric surgery is associated with favorable in-hospital outcomes in hospitalized patients with SLE and decreased likelihood for several SLE-related complications.

AIM: Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a relatively safe and efficient alternative to surgery for patients with benign thyroid nodules. We investigated predictive factors associated with volume reduction using digital imaging analysis. METHODS: In this retrospective study, a prospectively maintained database containing the data of patients who received treatment from April 2019 to March 2020 was analyzed. Computerized analysis for quantitative measurement of echogenicity, heterogeneity, and the proportion of cystic components was performed on ultrasonographic images. The volume reduction rate (VRR) was calculated during follow-up. Treatment efficacy was defined as a volume reduction greater than 50% of baseline volume. RESULTS: The median volume of 58 benign thyroid nodules before RFA was 22.7 mL. Of 53 nodules with sufficient follow-up, the median VRR was 46.4%, 61.5%, 63.4%, and 67.4% at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months, respectively. Overall, at one-year follow-up, treatment efficacy was achieved in 39 (74%) nodules. In a multivariate regression analysis, the proportion of cystic components and RFA treatment time were independently associated with treatment efficacy. A subgroup analysis focusing on solid nodules indicated a negative correlation between echogenicity and VRR. CONCLUSIONS: The proportion of cystic components in thyroid nodules is the main predictor of RFA treatment efficacy. In solid nodules, higher echogenicity is associated with a lower volume reduction.

Coaxial core/shell electrospun nanofibers consisting of ferroelectric P(VDF-TrFE) and relaxor ferroelectric P(VDF-TrFE-CTFE) are tailor-made with hierarchical structures to modulate their mechanical properties with respect to their constituents. Compared with two single and the other coaxial membranes prepared in the research, the core/shell-TrFE/CTFE membrane shows a more prominent mechanical anisotropy between revolving direction (RD) and cross direction (CD) associated with improved resistance to tensile stress for the crystallite phase stability and good strength-ductility balance. This is due to the better degree of core/shell-TrFE-CTFE nanofiber alignment and the crystalline/amorphous ratio. The coupling between terpolymer P(VDF-TrFE-CTFE) and copolymer P(VDF-TrFE) is responsible for phase stabilization, comparing the core/shell-TrFE/CTFE with the pristine terpolymer. Moreover, an impressive collective deformation mechanism of a two-length scale in the core/shell composite structure is found. We apply in-situ synchrotron X-ray to resolve the two-length scale simultaneously by using the small-angle X-ray scattering to characterize the nanofibers and the wide-angle X-ray diffraction to identify the phase transformations. Our findings may serve as guidelines for the fabrication of the electrospun nanofibers used as membranes-based electroactive polymers.

RESUMEN

The coaxial core/shell composite electrospun nanofibers consisting of relaxor ferroelectric P(VDF-TrFE-CTFE) and ferroelectric P(VDF-TrFE) polymers are successfully tailored towards superior structural, mechanical, and electrical properties over the individual polymers. The core/shell-TrFE/CTFE membrane discloses a more prominent mechanical anisotropy between the revolving direction (RD) and cross direction (CD) associated with a higher tensile modulus of 26.9 MPa and good strength-ductility balance, beneficial from a better degree of nanofiber alignment, the increased density, and C-F bonding. The interfacial coupling between the terpolymer P(VDF-TrFE-CTFE) and copolymer P(VDF-TrFE) is responsible for comparable full-frequency dielectric responses between the core/shell-TrFE/CTFE and pristine terpolymer. Moreover, an impressive piezoelectric coefficient up to 50.5 pm/V is achieved in the core/shell-TrFE/CTFE composite structure. Our findings corroborate the promising approach of coaxial electrospinning in efficiently tuning mechanical and electrical performances of the electrospun core/shell composite nanofiber membranes-based electroactive polymers (EAPs) actuators as artificial muscle implants.

In this study, a polyethylene (PE) film coated with chitosan (CS) and gallic acid (GA) was prepared using plasma modification technology and applied for the preservation of tilapia fillets. Based on the analysis of surface morphology and surface functional groups, it was shown that plasma modification allowed CS and GA coating on PE. And GACS/PE demonstrated better antioxidant ability than CS/PE and GA/PE individually. The results of the tilapia freshness test showed that the total plate count showed that GACS/PE can inhibit 1.52 log CFU/g and delay the production of volatile basic nitrogen below 15 mg/100 g after 14 d of storage. Moreover, GA/PE (0.26 mg MDA/kg) and GACS/PE (0.24 mg MDA/kg) showed better thiobarbituric acid inhibitiry effect than control (0.30 mg MDA/kg) on day 14. These results indicate that these packaging films are efficient in extending the shelf life of tilapia fillets.

We aimed to ascertain whether therapeutic hypothermia (TH) acts as cardioprotective management for heat stroke (HS). Adult male rats under general anesthesia were exposed to whole-body heating (43°C for 70 min) to induce HS. Rats with HS displayed hyperthermia (core body temperature 42°C vs. 36°C); hypotension (30 mmHg vs. 90 mmHg mean arterial blood pressure); suppressed left ventricular (LV) performance (stroke volume 52 µl/min vs. 125 µl/min), ejection fraction (0.29% vs. 0.69%), relaxation factor (72 ms vs. 12 ms), and arterial elastance (0.31 mmHg/ µl vs. 10 mmHg/ µl); increased myocardial injury markers (e.g., creatine kinase-MB: 86 U/L vs. 24 U/L, cardiac troponin I: 3.08 ng/ml vs. 0.57 ng/ml); increased myocardial oxidative stress markers (e.g., malondialdehyde: 6.52 nmol/mg vs. 1.06 nmol/mg, thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances: 29 nmol/g vs. 2 nmol/g); decreased myocardial antioxidants (e.g., superoxide dismutase: 6 unit/mg vs. 17 unit/mg, reduced glutathione: 0.64 nmol/mg vs. 2.53 nmol/mg); increased myocardial proinflammatory cytokines (e.g., tumor necrosis factor-α 3200 pg/ml vs. 1000 pg/ml, interleukin-6: 668 pg/ml vs. 102 pg/ml); and increased cardiac damage scores (2.2 vs. 0.3). TH therapy significantly reversed the following conditions: HS-induced hyperthermia (37.5°C core body temperature), hypotension (71 mmHg), suppressed LV performance (stroke volume: 97 µl/min, ejection fraction: 0.65%, relaxation factor: 39 ms, and arterial elastance: 0.99 mmHg/µl), increased myocardial injury markers (e.g., creatine kinase-MB: 37 U/L, cardiac troponin I: 1.06 ng/ml), increased myocardial oxidative stress markers (e.g., malondialdehyde: 2.68 nmol/mg, thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances: 12.3 nmol/g), decreased myocardial antioxidants (e.g., superoxide dismutase: 13.3 unit/mg, reduced glutathione: 2.71 mmol/mg), increased myocardial proinflammatory cytokines (e.g., tumor necrosis factor-α 1500 pg/ml, interleukin-6: 108 ng/ml); and increased cardiac damage scores (0.9). We thus conclude that TH protects against HS-induced arterial hypotension by promoting LV performance in rats. These results add to the literature regarding the use of TH as cardioprotective management for HS.

BACKGROUND: Hungry bone syndrome is characterized by prolonged and severe hypocalcemia following parathyroidectomy. Previously, we reported that preoperative alkaline phosphatase is a major factor predicting prolonged hospital stay. Nonetheless, some patients with low alkaline phosphatase levels presented with hungry bone syndrome, suggesting that additional factors may play a role. METHODS: From September 2010 to December 2017, consecutive dialysis patients who underwent parathyroidectomy for secondary hyperparathyroidism were analyzed. Length of hospital stay was used as a surrogate marker for postoperative bone hunger. RESULTS: A total of 260 patients were included in the study. The median postoperative hospital stay was 3 days, and 69 (27%) patients had a stay longer than 3 days. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that alkaline phosphatase (odds ratio [OR] = 1.005), osteocalcin (OR = 1.001), and subtotal parathyroidectomy (OR = 0.061) were associated with prolonged hospital stay. Multivariate linear regression analysis indicated that age (ß = - 0.170), alkaline phosphatase (ß = 0.430), and osteocalcin (ß = 0.166) were correlated with the length of stay. After surgery, the median osteocalcin level increased from 264 to 478 ng/mL (P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Alkaline phosphatase is the main predictor of hungry bone syndrome after parathyroidectomy, and preoperative osteocalcin is an additional independent predictor. Patients with a high osteocalcin level may prone to have a higher demand for calcium supplementation.

A variety of conductive films made of a hybrid of two conductive nanomaterials have been used as stretchable electrodes or interconnectors, desirable for stretchable electronic devices. Their intrinsic stretchability of electrical conductivity allows for accommodating mechanical strain to a certain extent under various deformations. However, few efforts have been made to enhance the interactions between two conductive components in a hybrid system. Herein, we reported new conductive films with tri-layer sandwich structures based on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and Ag nanowires (NWs), encapsulated in silicone rubber, exhibited high stretchability along with insignificant piezoresistivity. They are suitable to be stretchable interconnectors. A successive vacuum filtration method was used to stack the conductive components layer by layer. The effects of the stacking sequence and the interactions between layers on the stretchability and stability of the electrical properties under mechanical deformations were studied. In the case of a tri-layer conductive film comprising two CNT outer layers and one AgNW central layer in the presence of enhanced interfacial interactions, it showed exceptionally durability in withstanding repetitive deformations.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate suitable condition for extraction of the active components from Ajuga nipponensis (A. nipponensis). METHODS: Orthogonal experimental design was used to determine the optimal extraction parameters for ecdysterones and flavonoids. Finally, the hepatoprotective abilities of A. nipponensis extracts were evaluated by CCl4-induced animal models. RESULTS: Maximum yields of flavonoids (7.87 ± 0.10) mg/g and ecdysterones (0.73 ± 0.02) mg/g could be obtained when the extraction time was 50 min, the extraction temperature was 60 °C, and the ratio of sample to 70% (v/v) ethanol was 1:20 (w/w). The antioxidant property of A. nipponensis was correlated to the concentration of its extracts. At 5 mg/mL, A. nipponensis extract scavenged 84.8% of DPPH radical and had absorbance values of 2.43 ± 0.04 reducing power. Upon CCl4-induced liver injury, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase and glutamic pyruvic transaminase decreased significantly after the mice were treated with A. nipponensis. Histological researches also explained that A. nipponensis reduced the extent of liver lesions induced by CCl4. CONCLUSIONS: A. nipponensis exhibited potent antioxidant activity in chemical experimental models and hepatoprotective effect against CCl4-induced liver damage.

In situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction is used to investigate a three-way piezo-phototronic soft material. This new system is composed of a semi-crystalline poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-trifluoroethylene) piezoelectric polymer and titanium oxide nanoparticles. Under light illumination, photon-induced piezoelectric responses are nearly two times higher at both the lattice-structure and the macroscopic level than under conditions without light illumination. A mechanistic model is proposed.

The aim of this study was to develop an optimal microencapsulation method for an oil-soluble component (curcumin) using γ-PGA. The results show that Span80 significantly enhances the encapsulation efficiency (EE) of γ-Na(+)-PGA microcapsules. Therefore, the effects of γ-Na(+)-PGA, curcumin and Span80 concentration on EE of γ-Na(+)-PGA microcapsules were studied by means of response surface methodology (RSM). It was found that the optimal microencapsulation process is achieved by using γ-Na(+)-PGA 6.05%, curcumin 15.97% and Span80 0.61% with a high EE% (74.47 ± 0.20%). Furthermore, the models explain 98% of the variability in the responses. γ-Na(+)-PGA seems to be a good carrier for the encapsulation of curcumin. In conclusion, this simple and versatile approach can potentially be applied to the microencapsulation of various oil-soluble components for food applications.

OBJECTIVES: Perchlorate, nitrate, and thiocyanate are well-known inhibitors of the sodium-iodide symporter and may disrupt thyroid function. This exploratory study investigated the association among urinary perchlorate, nitrate, and thiocyanate concentrations and parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels in the general U.S. population. METHODS: We analyzed data on 4265 adults (aged 20 years and older) from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2005 through 2006 to evaluate the relationship among urinary perchlorate, nitrate, and thiocyanate concentration and PTH levels and the presence of hyperparathyroidism cross-sectionally. RESULTS: The geometric means and 95% confidence interval (95% CI) concentrations of urinary perchlorate, nitrate, and thiocyanate were 3.38 (3.15-3.62), 40363 (37512-43431), and 1129 (1029-1239) ng/mL, respectively. After adjusting for confounding variables and sample weights, creatinine-corrected urinary perchlorate was negatively associated with serum PTH levels in women (P = 0.001), and creatinine-corrected urinary nitrate and thiocyanate were negatively associated with serum PTH levels in both sex groups (P = 0.001 and P<0.001 for men, P = 0.018 and P<0.001 for women, respectively). Similar results were obtained from sensitivity analyses performed for exposure variables unadjusted for creatinine with urinary creatinine added as a separate covariate. There was a negative relationship between hyperparathyroidism and urinary nitrate and thiocyanate [odds ratio (95% CI) = 0.77 (0.60-0.98) and 0.69 (0.61-0.79), respectively]. CONCLUSIONS: A higher urinary concentration of perchlorate, nitrate, and thiocyanate is associated with lower serum PTH levels. Future studies are needed to determine the pathophysiological background of the observation.

According to the literatures, Flammulina velutipes contains biologically active components such as dietary fiber, polysaccharide, and mycosterol, whose effects in reducing blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol have been proven. This study used the active components extracted from Flammulina velutipes powder (FVP) and Flammulina velutipes extract (FVE) to investigate the impact of these active components on lipid metabolism of hamsters. The results show that the total dietary fiber content in FVP and FVE is 29.34 mg/100 g and 15.08 mg/100 g, respectively. The total mycosterol content is 46.57 ± 0.37 mg/100 g and 9.01 ± 0.17 mg/100 g, respectively. The male hamsters were subjected to lipid metabolism monitoring by adding 1, 2, and 3% FVP or FVE into their diets for a period of 8 weeks. The animal assay results show that the 3% FVP and FVE groups have the lowest concentration of TC (total cholesterol), TG (triacylglycerol), LDL (low density lipoprotein cholesterol), and LDL/HDL (high density lipoprotein cholesterol) in the serum and liver (P < 0.05). Our results demonstrate that the addition of 3% FVP or FVE has a significant effect on the lipid metabolism in hamsters whose increased level of HDL in the serum was induced by high fat diet.

BACKGROUND: Bilateral cleft nose deformity is increasingly being treated before primary repair with nasoalveolar molding. With the Grayson technique, nasal molding is started when the alveolar gap is reduced to 5 mm, whereas with the Figueroa technique, nasal molding and alveolar molding are performed at the same time. Both techniques significantly lengthen the columella, but their comparative efficacy, efficiency, and incidence of complications have not been investigated. METHODS: In this blinded, retrospective study of 58 patients with complete bilateral cleft lip-cleft palate, 27 underwent Grayson nasoalveolar molding and 31 underwent Figueroa nasoalveolar molding. Outcomes were compared by analyzing pretreatment and posttreatment facial photographs and clinical charts for efficacy (i.e., columella length ratio, alar width ratio, alar base width ratio, nostril shape, nasal tip angle, nasolabial angle, and nasal base angle), efficiency (i.e., molding frequency), and incidence of complications (e.g., facial irritation and oral mucosal ulceration). RESULTS: Grayson and Figueroa nasoalveolar molding did not differ in treatment efficacy for columellar length ratio, alar width ratio, alar base width ratio, nostril shape, nasal tip angle, nasolabial angle, or nasal base angle (all p > 0.05). Grayson nasoalveolar molding was less efficient (i.e., required more adjustments) (10.8 ± 4.1 versus 7.6 ± 1.5; p = 0.001) and had a higher incidence of oral mucosal ulceration (26 percent versus 3 percent; p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Both Grayson and Figueroa nasoalveolar molding similarly improve nasal deformities and reduce alveolar gaps; however, the Figueroa technique is associated with fewer oral mucosal complications and more efficiency.

BACKGROUND: Peritoneal dialysis (PD)-related peritonitis is the most common complication and the leading cause of technique failure for patients on PD therapy. The aim of this study was to review the episodes and outcomes of PD-related peritonitis, with special reference to the effects of age and diabetes status. METHODS: The study comprised 204 consecutive peritonitis episodes between January 2001 and June 2011 from our registry database. Factors associated with treatment failure and mortality were analyzed with multi-variable logistic regression modeling. RESULTS: The overall peritonitis rate was one episode per 65 patient-months or 0.187 episodes/patient-year. Older patients had lower probability of remaining free of peritonitis (log rank, p<0.001). Elderly patients and diabetic subjects had a higher risk of peritonitis-related dropout. Age (odds ratio [OR], 1.37; p=0.041), diabetes mellitus (OR, 3.64; p=0.005), and gram-negative peritonitis (OR, 3.55; p=0.011) were independent determinants of catheter removal. Age (OR, 1.93; p=0.026) and diabetes (OR, 5.98; p=0.015) were the only predictors of death from peritonitis. CONCLUSIONS: Old age and diabetes mellitus are two major risk factors for adverse outcomes of PD-related peritonitis. Although they are not contraindications to PD, our results suggest that these patients need meticulous care when peritonitis occurs.

BACKGROUND: Nasoalveolar molding is increasingly being used to treat unilateral cleft nose deformity before primary repair. The Grayson technique starts nasal molding when an alveolar gap is reduced to 5 mm, whereas the Figueroa technique performs nasal and alveolar molding at the same time. The authors investigated the comparative efficacy, efficiency, and incidence of complications of the two techniques. METHODS: A blinded, retrospective study was conducted on 63 patients with complete unilateral cleft lip-cleft palate; 31 underwent the Grayson nasoalveolar molding and 32 underwent the Figueroa nasoalveolar molding. Pretreatment and posttreatment facial photographs and clinical charts were used to compare efficacy (nostril height ratio, nostril width ratio, columellar angle), efficiency (molding frequency), and incidence of complications (facial irritation, mucosal ulceration). RESULTS: The Grayson and Figueroa techniques did not differ in treatment efficacy for nostril height ratio (0.86 ± 0.09 versus 0.85 ± 0.09; p > 0.05) and columellar angle (84.0 ± 4.5 degrees versus 85.3 ± 2.6 degrees; p > 0.05). Although the Grayson technique was more effective for reducing nostril width ratio (1.21 ± 0.29 versus 1.27 ± 0.19, p = 0.05), it was less efficient (i.e., required more adjustments) (10.9 ± 2.5 versus 8.8 ± 1.9; p < 0.001) and had a higher incidence of mucosal ulceration (23 percent versus 3 percent; p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The two nasoalveolar molding techniques differed in efficacy, efficiency, and incidence of complications in patients with complete unilateral cleft lip-cleft and palate. Understanding these differences may help surgeons and orthodontists improve outcome expectations and consultations with patients' families. CLINICAL QUESTION/LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: Therapeutic, III.

Fresh fish is typically brought to market refrigerated at approximately 4 °C, R-storage. A storage method has been devised that combines refrigeration with a high-voltage electrostatic field (100 kV/m; E-storage). It was developed to improve the quality and prolong the shelf life of foods. This study investigated changes in the freshness of tilapia meat under E-storage conditions. The total viable count of tilapia reached 107 CFU/g on the 7th d of refrigeration in R-storage. By the 6th d, K-value had increased from 20% to 61.7% for E-storage and to 94.7% for R-storage. Volatile basic nitrogen had increased from 12.54 mg/100 g to about 24.34 and 25.03 mg/100 g for R- and E-storage (on the 7th and 10th d), respectively. The sensory assessment also indicated that E-storage yielded an improvement in quality over that of R-storage. Practical application of the study model has the potential to prolong the freshness of fish.

One of the most popular issues in electrostatic biology is the effects of a high-voltage electrostatic field (HVEF) on the thawing of chicken thigh meat. In this study, chicken thigh meat was treated with HVEF (E-group), and compared to samples stored in a common refrigerator (R-group), to investigate how HVEF affects chicken thigh meat quality after thawing at low temperature storage (-3 and 4 degrees C). The results showed that there were no significant differences in biochemical and microorganism indices at -3 degrees C. However, the HVEF can significantly shorten thawing time for frozen chicken thigh meat at -3 degrees C. After thawing chicken thigh meat and storing at 4 degrees C, the total viable counts reached the Intl. Commission on Microbiological Specification for Foods limit of 10(7) CFU/g on the 6 and 8 d for the R- and E-group, respectively. On the 8th d, the volatile basic nitrogen had increased from 11.24 mg/100 g to 21.9 mg/100 g for the E-group and 39.9 mg/100 g for the R-group, respectively. The biochemical and microorganism indices also indicated that the E-group treatment yielded better results on thawing than the R-group treatment. The application of this model has the potential to keep products fresh.

The removal effect on excessive fusel alcohols from rice spirits were investigated using nanofiltration (NF) and ultrafiltration (UF). Compared to UF (GE and GH membranes), NF (DK and DL membranes) showed 10 times greater effect for fusel alcohols rejection due to molecular weight cut-off. On operating pressures, 488.95 kPa was suitable with a rejection rate attaining 44.2% for DK membrane. Only slight changes in physicochemical indices including ethanol concentration, flavor, total acidity, pH value, and soluble solid content were observed for rice-spirits after NF treatment. Moreover, rice spirits treated with the DK membrane achieved a higher score in sensory evaluation. We anticipated a practical application of the nonheat processes in rice spirits production.
