[Pregnancy and delivery in woman after ovarian cancer treatment--case report]. / Ciaza i poród u kobiety po leczeniu raka jajnika--opis przypadku.

The course of pregnancy and delivery in women after surgical and multiagent chemotherapy of ovarian cancer was observed. The patient delivered healthy infant by cesarean section at 39 week of normal pregnancy. During the operation there were taken some of tissue excisions for histological examination. There were no clinical or macroscopic symptoms of the disease but in one of biopsy the malignant cells were present. The patient was treated by chemotherapy four weeks after delivery.

The activity of thymidine phosphorylase in the uterine myomas and the myometrium in perimenopausal women.

The activity of thymidine phosphorylase (dThdPase) in the myometrium and uterine myomas has been investigated in perimenopausal women. Differences in the activity of dThdPase have been found depending on the myoma type, menopause stage and the phase of the menstrual cycle in which the surgery was performed. The enzyme in the cytoplasmatic soluble fraction obtained at 50,000 x g was the most active in cellular leiomyomas of the follicular phase, the least in adenomyomas of the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle, whereas its activity in myometrium was always unchanged. Greater differences can be observed in the activity of dThdPase after a partial purification of the enzyme from myomas. It seems that the increase in dThdPase activity may point to its correlation with transient, premalignant tumor which may later transform into malignant forms.

[Effect of umbilical cord compression on acid-base parameters in blood from the umbilical artery in neonates]. / Wplyw ucisku pepowiny na parametry równowagi kwasowo-zasadowej we krwi z tetnicy pepowinowej noworodków.

To find out the influence of nuchal cord on neonatal acid-base balance we obtained 117 umbilical artery blood samples from full-term newborns immediately after cord clamping. In 29 cases umbilical cord entanglement was observed while delivery. For each case we matched control case with basic obstetrical factors comparable. In those two groups no significant difference between mean values of acid-base balance parameters was found.

The paper gives an overview of basic principles of cooperation between gynaecologists in infertility treatment. The authors experience in dealing with patients requesting donor insemination is presented. The outline of psychological consultation in such cases is given.

[Does treatment with antiestrogens in men with oligozoospermia influence the course of pregnancy in infertile married women]. / Czy leczenie antyestrogenami nieplodnosci meskiej wplywa na przebieg ciazy u kobiet z nieplodnoscia malzenska.

Study aimed at obtaining answer to the question if antiestrogenic treatment (tamoxifen or clomiphene) of men having oligozoospermia has an impact on the pregnancy course. The pregnancy courses were live analysed of 34 healthy women, who had been treated with the artificial insemination by husband, having received tamoxifen or clomiphene. No important distinction in the pregnancy courses were found. Delivery at term took place more frequently in the first group than in the second one. There were insignificantly more frequently births of males in both groups.

The authors describe their own method of the dynamic hysterosalpingography using the self-constructed hydraulic hystero-infusing pump. The diagnostic procedure's remote control system allows to avoid superfluous of radiation.
