RESUMEN

Based on a clinical case report, the article shows the individual selection of effective therapy for a patient with arterial hypertension and dyslipidemia. Taking into account the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, Equamer® was selected as a fixed combination of amlodipine + lisinopril + rosuvastatin capsules 10 mg+20 mg+10 mg (Gedeon Richter Plc, Budapest, Hungary). In the patient with hypertension, ischemic heart disease was verified, and stenting of the anterior descending artery was performed. According to the clinical guidelines, when arterial hypertension is associated with ischemic heart disease, the drug therapy of choice should be a combination of dihydropyridine slow calcium channel blockers with an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor. The fixed triple combination of amlodipine, lisinopril, and rosuvastatin is one of the most appropriate in this clinical situation; this combination targets the two major risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, arterial hypertension and dyslipidemia.

RESUMEN

The functioning of central and peripheral structures of the gastrocnemius m. neuromotor apparatus was studied in rats exposed to simulated gravitational unloading. Gastrocnemius reflex (H) and motor (M) responses evoked by electrical stimulation of the sciatic nerve were measured after 7, 14, 21 and 35 days of tail-suspension. It was shown that thresholds of registered potentials went down on all days of testing; the H-amplitude rose during every testing and M-amplitude rose after 35 days of the gravitational unloading. Results of the experiments indicate changes in the functioning of motor centers that modulate properties and characteristics of peripheral neuromotor structures. The observed rearrangements can be caused by reduction of the afferent inflow.

RESUMEN

The process of carbon deposition onto 3d metal surface immersed in aromatic solvents (benzene, toluene, xylene) at ambient conditions was studied for as-prepared magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) and Fe-based films by thermal analysis, mass spectrometry, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The mechanism of the deposition at the interface is likely the heterogeneous Scholl oxidation of the aromatic hydrocarbons, which is the cationic polymerization of the aryl rings. It results in the formation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) chemically bonded to the surface of a MNP or thin metallic film. The benzene rings in the polycyclic deposit do not maintain planar aligned structures and do not provide delocalization of the π-electrons in the zone structure. Contrary to the dense graphite layers, the polycyclic layers, although chemically bonded, are not attached tightly to the surface. Such "hairlike" structure of the carboneous deposit might be especially favorable for the applications that imply the enhanced interaction at the surfaces incorporated in the functional matrices (polymeric composites or biosensors). The aromatic chemical nature of the deposit provides strong interaction with most polymers, while its loose structure favors conformational mobility of macromolecular chains at the interface.

RESUMEN

In this work, we studied the effect of vibratory stimulation of the foot support zones on the functional state of the leg muscles and the content of N2A titin isoforms in rats under simulated microgravity (hanging model). The results of this study showed that vibratory support zones of the rat foot in a gravity discharge may reduce the incidence in amplitude of the leg muscle motor response and undesirable reduction of the titin content.

RESUMEN

The goal of this work was to study the influence of daily 3-hr vibrostimulation of the supporting zones of the foot and 3-hr of usual locomotion on the functional state of the soleus, gastrocnemius, and tibial anterior muscles in rats after 7 and 14 days of hindlimb unloading. After 7 days of unloading the soleus weight decreased, while the weight of gastrocnemius and tibial anterior remained unchanged. After 14 days of hindlimb unloading a weight reduction was observed in all studied muscles. Vibrostimulation of the foot and supporting afferentation prevented the loss of weight in gastrocnemius and tibial anterior during the first week of unloading and reduced the negative effect of hindlimb unloading in 14 days. Our results demonstrate that the amplitude of the M-response after 7 days of hindlimb unloading was decreased predominantly in soleus as compared to gastrocnemius and tibial anterior. By the 14 day we observed restoration of the amplitude of the M-response in gastrocnemius and tibial anterior, and the increased amplitude of the M-response in soleus. Different techniques for foot stimulation in rats during hindlimb unloading demonstrated the positive effect in regard to M-response restoration--the amplitude of the M-response was increased in all studied muscles. Thus, our results demonstrate that foot vibrostimulation or supporting afferentation can completely prevent atrophy caused by hindlimb unloading in gastrocnemius and tibial anterior and decrease atrophy in soleus in rats.

RESUMEN

This article reports on the magnetic properties of interacting uncoated nickel ferrite (NiFe2O4) nanoparticles synthesized through an aerosol levitation-jet technique. A comprehensive set of samples with different compositions of background gas and metal precursors, as well as applied electric field intensities, has been studied. Nanoparticles prepared under a field of 210 kV m(-1) show moderately high-field irreversibility and shifted hysteresis loops after field-cooling, also exhibiting a joint temperature decrease of the exchange field and coercivity. The appearance of memory effects has been checked using the genuine ZFC protocol and the observed behavior cannot be fully explained in terms of thermal relaxation. Although dipolar interactions prevail, exchange interactions occur to a certain extent within a narrow range of applied fields. The origin of the slow dynamics in the system is found to be given by the interplay of the distribution of energy barriers due to size dispersion and the cooperative dynamics associated with frustrated interactions.

RESUMEN

The paper is concerned with the results of experimental and estimated investigations into the spatial distribution of an absorbed dose and the spectrum of neutrons during irradiation of a water phantom by a P-3 beam of a BP-10 reactor. The ratio of densely ionizing and rarely ionizing components of an absorbed dose as well as the ratios between neutrons of different energetic groups were shown to undergo considerable changes with the penetration of reactor neutrons into the depth of a tissue-equivalent medium. The obtained results serve as basic data in various biomedical investigations using reactor neutron beams, including the planning of their use in cancer therapy.

RESUMEN

The authors obtained theoretical and experimental data on the sensitivity to monochromatic and reaction neutrons of ionization chambers with different sizes of the air cavity between tissue equivalent walls. Significant difference of the sensitivity to neutrons of such heterogeneous chambers was noted as compared to that of homogeneous tissue equivalent ionization chambers. However proceeding from the results of the study we can determine with the precision of 10% the absolute absorbed doses in the dosimetry of biomedical investigations using neutrons of different energies.
