RESUMEN

AIM: Development of enzyme immunoassay detection of B and D factors of complement alternative pathway functional activity for solving diagnostic and prognostic problems of patient therapy. Study activity of these factors in blood sera of children with atopic dermatitis before and after therapy for elucidation of the role of complement alternative pathway in pathogenesis of this disease. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Children aged 6 months to 18 years with atopic dermatitis were examined for functional activity of B and D factors in blood sera before and after therapy by the developed methods. RESULTS: The developed enzyme immunoassay methods for determination of functional activity of B and D complement alternative pathway showed high sensitivity and reliability. In children with atopic dermatitis factor B and D activity was significantly lower than normal before treatment. After treatment these activity increased significantly (p < 0.004) and in the case of D factor--up to normal. CONCLUSION: The data obtained in the study indicates the presence of complement alternative pathway activation in atopic dermatitis in children and the possibility of use of factor B and D functional activity analysis for diagnostic and prognostic purposes.

RESUMEN

The use of various doses of metoprolol (spesicor, Leiras, Finland), a selective beta 1-adrenoblocker, in patients with CHD combined with clinical or instrumentally detectable symptoms of bronchial asthma or stage I-II essential hypertension with angina pectoris of I-II functional classes, has shown that metoprolol cardioselective blockade is a relative phenomenon which has definite correlation with a dose, duration of therapy, and the initial status of the bronchopulmonary system. An antianginal effect was observed in 68.5% of patients, an antihypertensive effect--in 71.3%, side-effects--in 6.4%.

RESUMEN

A study of bronchial permeability in 98 patients with acute pneumonia during clinico-roentgenological convalescence using a method of the analysis of the flow-volume loop diagram showed disorders of bronchial permeability in 73.46% of the patients, of them obvious disorders in 21.42% and latent ones in 52.04%. Hyperreactivity of the tracheobronchial tree to acetylcholine was established in 84.4% of the patients without signs of obvious obstruction and in some cases only to obsidan indicating the presence of disorders of vagotonic regulation without change in the functioning of beta-adrenoreceptors.

RESUMEN

Reproducibility of the flow-volume indicators at forced expiration and inspiration was calculated during examination of 210 healthy subjects and 420 patients with different pulmonary diseases. Reproducibility of the flow-volume indicators of the median and end part of the forced expiration which reflect largely the function proper of the patency of the distal parts of the bronchial tree was essentially higher in patients and tended toward increase with a rise in the degree of ventilation abnormalities. Reproducibility of the conventional spirographic parameters in healthy subjects and patients with ERF abnormalities did not differ whatever their character and degree.
