RESUMEN

Optimized fabrication of Z-scheme photocatalyst based on MOF materials offers sustainable energy generation and environmental improvement due to their attractive properties. The Z-scheme heterojunctions consisting of UiO-66 cubes covered with Zn0.5Cd0.5S nanoparticles were fabricated by a facile solvothermal method. Thanks to the Z-scheme carrier transport under simulated sunlight irradiation, UiO-66@Zn0.5Cd0.5S exhibited enhanced photocatalytic performance of H2 generation synchronized with organic pollutant degradation in fluoroquinolone antibiotic wastewater. Synergistically, the highest comprehensive performance was obtained in ciprofloxacin solution. The H2 yield reached 224 µmol∙ g-1∙ h-1 and simultaneously the removal efficiency was up to 83.6 %. The degradation pathways revealed that the process of piperazine ring cleavage and decarboxylation also generates H protons, further promoting the production of H2. Therefore, the effective spatial separation and transfer of the photoinduced carriers are attributed to the good band structure, large specific surface area, and cooperative reduction and oxidation reactions of UiO-66@Zn0.5Cd0.5S, resulting in significant photocatalytic activity. The toxicity assessment of antibiotics and intermediate products during the photocatalytic reaction also verifies the reduction of environmental risk. This study highlights a promising way to expand the application of the MOFs-based photocatalyst in clean energy conversion coupling with water remediation.

RESUMEN

Optimize the separation and transport mechanism of photogenerated carriers in heterojunction composites, and make full use of the active sites of each material are key factors to enhance photocatalytic activity. Herein, we successfully synthesize defective CdLa2S4@La(OH)3@Co3S4 (CLS@LOH@CS) Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts through a facile solvothermal method, which show broad-spectrum absorption and excellent photocatalytic activity. La(OH)3 nanosheets not only greatly increase the specific surface area of photocatalyst, but also can be coupled with CdLa2S4 (CLS) and form Z-scheme heterojunction by converting irradiation light. In addition, Co3S4 with photothermal properties is obtained by in-situ sulfurization method, which can release heat to improve the mobility of photogenerated carriers, and also be used as a cocatalyst for hydrogen production. Most importantly, the formation of Co3S4 leads to a large number of sulfur vacancy defects in CLS, and thus improving the separation efficiency of photogenerated electrons and holes, and increasing the catalytic active sites. Consequently, the maximum hydrogen production rate of CLS@LOH@CS heterojunctions can reach 26.4 mmol g-1h-1, which is 293 times than pristine CLS (0.09 mmol g-1h-1). This work will provide a new horizon for synthesizing high efficiency heterojunction photocatalysts through switching the separation and transport modes of photogenerated carrier.

RESUMEN

Based on the tripartite influence model, the present study linked investment in others' selfies on social media to facial dissatisfaction and cosmetic surgery consideration. We also tested the mediating role of appearance comparisons and general attractiveness internalization in these relationships. Additionally, potential gender differences in the proposed model were examined. A sample of 884 Chinese adolescents (mean age = 16.80 ± 0.92, ranging from 14 to 19 years old) completed self-reported measures of investment in others' selfies, appearance comparisons, general attractiveness internalization, facial dissatisfaction, and cosmetic surgery consideration. Results showed that investment in others' selfies was positively associated with facial dissatisfaction and cosmetic surgery consideration. Path analysis further revealed that investment in others' selfies was associated with appearance comparisons and general attractiveness internalization, which in turn were associated with facial dissatisfaction, and then facial dissatisfaction was related to cosmetic surgery consideration. Additionally, there were indirect associations between investment in others' selfies and cosmetic surgery consideration via general attractiveness internalization and facial dissatisfaction respectively, but not via appearance comparisons. No gender difference was found in the proposed model. Findings of the present study provide preliminary support for the tripartite influence model in the context of investment in others' selfies on social media and cosmetic surgery consideration and enrich the literature on body image and cosmetic surgery in the Chinese context.

RESUMEN

Restrained eating is becoming widespread recently. The present study aimed to examine whether peer appearance teasing was positively associated with restrained eating among Chinese adolescent girls and whether this association was mediated by fear of negative appearance evaluation (FNAE) and body surveillance. A sample of 720 Chinese adolescent girls completed questionnaires on peer appearance teasing, FNAE, body surveillance, and restrained eating. Peer appearance teasing was significantly and positively related to girls' restrained eating. FNAE mediated the relationship between peer appearance teasing and restrained eating. Furthermore, the association between peer appearance teasing and restrained eating was sequentially mediated by FNAE and body surveillance. The findings of this study provide new insights into the development of restrained eating among adolescent girls, and highlight peer appearance teasing and body surveillance as potential targets for intervention programs regarding body image concerns and eating disorders.

RESUMEN

In traditional Chinese society, filial piety (FP) served as the philosophical foundation of social governance, without which chaos would prevail. It indicates that the function of FP is not limited to family. FP can predict attitudes and behaviors in other social contexts. This study examined the relationship between FP and moral disengagement, and the mediating roles of the dark triad personality, and cultural differences regarding these mechanisms. An online self-report survey was conducted in two different culture groups- university students from China (N = 400, 37% male, Mage = 20.41, SD age = 2.52) and Islamic countries who are studying in China (N = 378, 59.25% male, Mage = 24.29, SD age = 4.77). Correlation analysis showed that authoritarian FP was positively associated with moral disengagement among students from China and Islamic countries, while reciprocal FP only negatively correlated with moral disengagement among Chinese students. Moreover, reciprocal FP directly and negatively affected moral disengagement, and did so indirectly through the mediating role of Machiavellianism. However, authoritarian FP directly and positively influenced moral disengagement, and did so indirectly through the buffering role of narcissism. These two parallel mediating models are not affected by culture. Though FP varies from culture to culture, reciprocal FP and authoritarian FP play critical roles in influencing personality and moral development. Reciprocal FP reduces moral disengagement directly and indirectly by weakening Machiavellianism. The role of authoritarian FP is conflicting. It can strengthen moral disengagement, but may also weaken it by deterring the development of the narcissistic personality. The findings enlighten us to view authoritarian FP dialectically. These two parallel mediating models are not affected by culture, indicating the applicability of DFPM in other societies. Future studies are encouraged to involve participants from more divergent countries and cultural backgrounds.

RESUMEN

Mindfulness plays an important role in promoting prosocial behavior and well-being. With the spread of Internet usage, people's online prosocial behavior (OPB) has garnered great attention. Based on the link between online and offline behaviors, we predict that mindfulness can also facilitate OPB. We examined the association of mindfulness and OPB and the mediating effect of empathy. A total of 674 Chinese undergraduate students completed self-report measures of these constructs. The results showed that different dimensions of mindfulness predicted empathy, which in turn predicted OPB. Perspective taking was the main mediator in the mindfulness-OPB link. Mindfulness improves receptiveness to others' needs and feelings, thereby enhancing the willingness to help them, even in none-face-to-face situations.

RESUMEN

MoS2 microrods constructed by ultrathin nanosheets have been synthesized, for the first time, by thermal decomposition of intermediate (NH4)2MoS4 crystals, which could not only provide the single-source for both the molybdenum and sulfur atoms, but also served as the self-sacrificed template. The well-defined microstructure was characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, BET, respectively. The results indicated that MoS2 microrods with uniform morphology were assembled by defective ultrathin nanosheets. Moreover, these MoS2 microrods exhibit superior catalytic activity with the apparent rate constant (κapp) of 0.161 min-1 for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) by NaBH4. Encouragingly, the MoS2 microrods still show evident activity for the reduction of 4-NP after five cycle tests, which has significant importance for the application in the reduction of 4-NP to p-aminophenol (4-AP). Also, this method can be extended to construct other kinds of metal dichalcogenides (TMDs).

RESUMEN

The relationships between several Hofstede's cultural dimensions and prosocial behavior at national level have been investigated by some studies. Yet the roles of indulgence versus restraint (IVR) and long-term versus short-term orientation (LTO), two newly established cultural dimensions, have received insufficient interest. This study aimed to investigate whether the World Giving Index (WGI), a national level measure of prosocial behavior (including donating, volunteering, and helping a stranger) provided by Gallup, was affected by IVR and LTO. The results suggested a positive link between IVR and WGI, and a negative link between LTO and helping a stranger. Culture values can in a great extend account for why prosocial behavior varies across countries. Further analysis revealed interactions among IVR, LTO, and individualism versus collectivism (IND). Simple slope analyses found that: (1) a higher level of IND could enhance the positive influence of IVR on prosocial behavior; (2) a lower level of IND could weaken the negative impact of LTO on prosocial behavior; (3) a higher level of IVR could weaken the negative effect of LTO on prosocial behavior.

RESUMEN

Detecting formaldehyde at low operating temperature and maintaining long-term stability are of great significance. In this work, a hierarchical Co3O4 nanostructure has been fabricated by calcining Co5-based metal-organic framework (MOF) microcrystals. Co3O4-350 particles were used for efficient gas-sensing for the detecting of formaldehyde vapor at lower working temperature (170 °C), low detection limit of 10 ppm, and long-term stability (30 days), which not only is the optimal value among all reported pure Co3O4 sensing materials for the detection of formaldehyde but also is superior to that of majority of Co3O4-based composites. Such extraordinarily efficient properties might be resulted from hierarchically structures, larger surface area and unique pore structure. This strategy is further confirmed that MOFs, especially Co-clusters MOFs, could be used as precursor to synthesize 3D nanostructure metal oxide materials with high-performance, which possess high porosity and more active sites and shorter ionic diffusion lengths.

RESUMEN

A novel heterostructure catalyst of Ni2P/Ni12P5 has been fabricated through a simple solvothermal method by modifying the molar ratio of the initial raw materials. The products are characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), nitrogen adsorption and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). It is found that the two phases, Ni2P and Ni12P5, are interlaced with one another in the as-formed nanocomposite, resulting in more interfaces. The bi-phase catalyst exhibits a markedly enhanced catalytic activity in the reduction of 4-nitrophenol, as compared to that of single Ni2P or Ni12P5. The enhanced catalytic activity can be attributed to the unique n-n series effects, which result in the increased ease of electron transfer over the Ni2P/Ni12P5 bi-phase catalyst.

RESUMEN

In this paper, hierarchical Ag-decorated SnO2 microspheres were synthesized by a facile one-pot hydrothermal method. The resulting composites were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, BET, and FTIR analysis. The catalytic performances of the samples were evaluated with the reduction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol by potassium borohydride (KBH4) as a model reaction. Time-dependent experiments indicated that the hierarchical microspheres assembled from SnO2 and Ag nanoparticles can be formed when the react time is less than 10 h. With the increase of hydrothermal time, SnO2 nanoparticles will self-assemble into SnO2 nanosheets and Ag nanoparticles decorated SnO2 nanosheets were obtained. When evaluated as catalyst, the obtained Ag-decorated SnO2 microsphere prepared for 36 h exhibited excellent catalytic performance with normalized rate constant (κ nor) of 6.20 min-1g-1L, which is much better than that of some previous reported catalysts. Moreover, this Ag-decorated SnO2 microsphere demonstrates good reusability after the first five cycles. In addition, we speculate the formation mechanism of the hierarchical Ag-decorated SnO2 microsphere and discussed the possible origin of the excellent catalytic activity.

RESUMEN

SnO2/Ag hollow microsphere, assembled form SnO2 and Ag nanoparticles, was synthesized via a facile one-step hydrothermal synthesis method using Na2SnO3.3H2O, CO(NH2)2 and AgNO3 as raw materials. XRD, SEM, and TEM results revealed that the obtained SnO2/Ag hollow microsphere with diameters of ca.3-5 µm was built from uniformly distributed rutile SnO2 and cubic Ag nanoparticles. Moreover, XPS results indicate the existence of strong interaction between Ag and SnO2 nanoparticles, rather than simply physical contact, endowing the SnO2/Ag hollow microspheres with excellent photocatalytic performance in the degradation of RhB solution under visible light irradiation.
