Nouveau procédé: les greffes séquentielles de cellules cutanées guérissent-elles les brûlures de troisième degré? étude comparative à propos de 517 patients.

The goal of this study is to evaluate an alternative to tissue grafts and cutaneous substitutes. Five hundred and seventeen burn patients were treated between February 2012 and June 2016: 381 of them benefited from cell therapy. 1 to 4 cm2 of autologous healthy total skin graft was dissected into epidermis, dermis and hypodermis, and then separately transformed into three cell-rich suspensions: some of these suspensions were eclectically chosen and associated first with platelet-rich plasma and thereafter with cryoprecipitate of plasma. Also, sequential seedings were performed every 2 days. The day after seeding, irrigation with antioxidants, protectors and healing stimulants was carried out twice daily. Deep 2nd degree burns healed in 5 to 10 days, while for 3rd degree burns results were achieved in 20 days for small areas and 50 days, on average, for larger areas. This reproducible technique could find its place in the therapeutic arsenal against burns.

[Fibroma of the tunica albuginea. Apropos of a case]. / Fibrome de la tunique albuginée. A propos d'un cas.

Fibroma of the tunica albuginea is a rare, benign lesion. Only twenty cases have been published. We have observed one case a solitary testis of a 40 years old patient. The treatment performed was enucleation. The interest of this case consists in the rarity of the case and the operative solution proposed. After a review of the literature, we summarise the characteristics of this disease.

[Voluminous elephantiasis of both legs treated by the Gibson's procedure]. / Volumineux éléphantiasis des deux jambes traité par le procédé de Gibson.

The diagnosis of elephantiasis of both lower limbs was made in a 39 year old woman after a fourteen year history of essential lymphoedema accompanied by hypoproteinaemia of 37 g/l. Complete excision of the diseased tissues was performed from the knees down with resection of the aponeuroses and cover by skin grafts raised from the legs at the start of the operation. A good result was observed after three years. After reviewing the literature, the authors recall the essential features of primary lymphoedema of the lower limbs.

Biochemical, endocrine, and other indices during quinestrol therapy.

PIP: The effect of .025 mg quinestrol twice daily for 6 months was studied in 8 menopausal and postmenopausal women. There was no change in mean body weight, blood pressure readings, pulse rate or electrocardiograms. Vaginal smears showed an estrogenic effect of the drug which included cornification of the vaginal epithelium. There was a slight decrease in beta lipoproteincholesterol and serum acid phosphatase. There was an increase in serum creatine between the third and sixth months of treatment with no change in serum creatinine. In non-diabetic women, glucose-induced hypophosphatemia was accentuated. In diabetic women, the glucose tolerance appeared to improve. In both groups, increases in serum insulin caused by a glucose load were less under quinestrol therapy than without.^ieng
