Biochar has emerged as a versatile and efficient multi-functional material, serving as both an adsorbent and catalyst in removing emerging pollutants (EPs) from aquatic matrices. However, pristine biochar's catalytic and adsorption capabilities are hindered by its poor surface functionality and small pore size. Addressing these limitations involves the development of functionalized biochar, a strategic approach aimed at enhancing its physicochemical properties and improving adsorption and catalytic efficiencies. Despite a growing interest in this field, there is a notable gap in existing literature, with no review explicitly concentrating on the efficacy of biochar-based functional materials (BCFMs) for removing EPs in aquatic environments. This comprehensive review aims to fill this void by delving into the engineering considerations essential for designing BCFMs with enhanced physiochemical properties. The focus extends to understanding the treatment efficiency of EPs through mechanisms such as adsorption or catalytic degradation. The review systematically outlines the underlying mechanisms involved in the adsorption and catalytic degradation of EPs by BCFMs. By shedding light on the prospects of BCFMs as a promising multi-functional material, the review underscores the imperative for sustained research efforts. It emphasizes the need for continued exploration into the practical implications of BCFMs, especially under environmentally relevant pollutant concentrations. This holistic approach seeks to contribute to advancing knowledge and applying biochar-based solutions in addressing the challenges posed by emerging pollutants in aquatic ecosystems.

The exploration of sonodynamic therapy (SDT) as a possible replacement for antibiotics by creating reactive oxygen species (ROS) is suggested as a non-drug-resistant theranostic method. However, the low-efficiency ROS generation and complex tumor microenvironment which can deplete ROS and promote tumor growth will cause the compromised antibacterial efficacy of SDT. Herein, through an oxygen vacancy engineering strategy, TiO2- x microspheres with an abundance of Ti3+ are synthesized using a straightforward reductant co-assembly approach. The narrow bandgaps and Ti3+/Ti4+-mediated multiple-enzyme catalytic activities of the obtained TiO2- x microspheres make them suitable for use as sonosensitizers and nanozymes. When graphene quantum dot (GQD) nanoantibiotics are deposited on TiO2- x microspheres, the resulting GQD/TiO2- x shows an increased production of ROS, which can be ascribed to the accelerated separation of electron-hole pairs, as well as the peroxidase-like catalytic activity mediated by Ti3+, and the depletion of glutathione mediated by Ti4+. Moreover, the catalytic activities of TiO2- x microspheres are amplified by the heterojunctions-accelerated carrier transfer. In addition, GQDs can inhibit Topo I, displaying strong antibacterial activity and further enhancing the antibacterial activity. Collectively, the combination of GQD/TiO2- x-mediated SDT/NCT with nanoantibiotics can result in a synergistic effect, allowing for multimodal antibacterial treatment that effectively promotes wound healing.

BACKGROUND: Soybean (Glycine max), a vital grain and oilseed crop, serves as a primary source of plant protein and oil. Soil salinization poses a significant threat to soybean planting, highlighting the urgency to improve soybean resilience and adaptability to saline stress. Melatonin, recently identified as a key plant growth regulator, plays crucial roles in plant growth, development, and responses to environmental stress. However, the potential of melatonin to mitigate alkali stress in soybeans and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. RESULTS: This study investigated the effects of exogenous melatonin on the soybean cultivar Zhonghuang 13 under alkaline stress. We employed physiological, biochemical, transcriptomic, and metabolomic analyses throughout both vegetative and pod-filling growth stages. Our findings demonstrate that melatonin significantly counteracts the detrimental effects of alkaline stress on soybean plants, promoting plant growth, photosynthesis, and antioxidant capacity. Transcriptomic analysis during both growth stages under alkaline stress, with and without melatonin treatment, identified 2,834 and 549 differentially expressed genes, respectively. These genes may play a vital role in regulating plant adaptation to abiotic stress. Notably, analysis of phytohormone biosynthesis pathways revealed altered expression of key genes, particularly in the ARF (auxin response factor), AUX/IAA (auxin/indole-3-acetic acid), and GH3 (Gretchen Hagen 3) families, during the early stress response. Metabolomic analysis during the pod-filling stage identified highly expressed metabolites responding to melatonin application, such as uteolin-7-O-(2''-O-rhamnosyl)rutinoside and Hederagenin-3-O-glucuronide-28-O-glucosyl(1,2)glucoside, which helped alleviate the damage caused by alkali stress. Furthermore, we identified 183 differentially expressed transcription factors, potentially playing a critical role in regulating plant adaptation to abiotic stress. Among these, the gene SoyZH13_04G073701 is particularly noteworthy as it regulates the key differentially expressed metabolite, the terpene metabolite Hederagenin-3-O-glucuronide-28-O-glucosyl(1,2)glucoside. WGCNA analysis identified this gene (SoyZH13_04G073701) as a hub gene, positively regulating the crucial differentially expressed metabolite of terpenoids, Hederagenin-3-O-glucuronide-28-O-glucosyl(1,2)glucoside. Our findings provide novel insights into how exogenous melatonin alleviates alkali stress in soybeans at different reproductive stages. CONCLUSIONS: Integrating transcriptomic and metabolomic approaches, our study elucidates the mechanisms by which exogenous melatonin ameliorates the inhibitory effects of alkaline stress on soybean growth and development. This occurs through modulation of biosynthesis pathways for key compounds, including terpenes, flavonoids, and phenolics. Our findings provide initial mechanistic insights into how melatonin mitigates alkaline stress in soybeans, offering a foundation for molecular breeding strategies to enhance salt-alkali tolerance in this crop.

Sarcomatoid carcinoma (SC) is a rare, complex, aggressive tumor that spreads rapidly, is highly malignant, and has metastasized. Surgical resection is the primary treatment, and it usually occurs in the lungs and kidneys but rarely in the neck. Patients with advanced sarcomatoid carcinoma (SC) of the head and neck (HN) have a poor progonsis. In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have been established as treatments for many solid tumors; however, the effectiveness of ICIs in treating SC of HN is still little recognized. We report a case study of a middle-aged woman with primary sarcomatoid carcinoma of the neck. She developed sarcomatoid carcinoma of the contralateral neck 7 months after the first surgical treatment. Subsequently, disease recurrence and metastasis occurred 8 months after the second surgery. The patient did not receive any treatment after both surgeries. The tumor showed high programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression, with a combined positive score (CPS): 95. The patient's response to treatment was assessed as partial remission (PR) after 2 cycles of anlotinib combined with sintilimab. The patient has survived for over 2 years and remains in PR status, despite experiencing grade 2 hypothyroidism as an adverse event during treatment. The case highlights the efficacy and safety of anlotinib and sintilimab as a first-line treatment.

Background: Early recognition of dementia like Alzheimer's disease is crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment, and existing objective tools for early screening of cognitive impairment are limited. Objective: To investigate age-related behavioral indicators of dual-task cognitive performance and gait parameters and to explore potential objective markers of early cognitive decline. Methods: The community-based cognitive screening data was analyzed. Hierarchical cluster analysis and Pearson correlation analysis were performed on the 9-item subjective cognitive decline (SCD-9) scores, walking-cognitive dual-task performance, walking speed, and gait parameters of 152 participants. The significant differences of indicators that may related to cognitive decline were statistically analyzed across six age groups. A mathematical model with age as the independent variable and motor cognition composite score as the dependent variable was established to observe the trend of motor cognition dual-task performance with age. Results: Strong correlation was found between motor cognitive scores and SCD and age. Gait parameters like the mean value of ankle angle, the left-right difference rate of ankle angle and knee angle and the coefficient of variation of gait cycle showed an excellent correlation with age. Motor cognition scores showed a decreasing trend with age. The slope of motor cognition scores with age after 50 years (k = -1.06) was six times higher than that before 50 years (k = -0.18). Conclusions: Cognitive performance and gait parameters in the walking-cognitive dual-task state are promising objective markers that could characterize age-related cognitive decline.

Glutathione peroxidase 2 (GPX2) is a selenium-dependent enzyme and protects cells against oxidative damage. Recently, GPX2 has been identified as a candidate gene for backfat and feed efficiency in pigs. However, it is unclear whether GPX2 regulates the development of porcine preadipocytes and skeletal muscle cells. In this study, adenoviral gene transfer was used to overexpress GPX2. Our findings suggest that overexpression of GPX2 gene inhibited proliferation of porcine preadipocytes. And the process is accompanied by the reduction of the p-p38. GPX2 inhibited adipogenic differentiation and promoted lipid degradation, while ERK1/2 was reduced and p-p38 was increased. Proliferation of porcine skeletal muscle cells was induced after GPX2 overexpression, was accompanied by activation in JNK, ERK1/2, and p-p38. Overexpression methods confirmed that GPX2 has a promoting function in myoblastic differentiation. ERK1/2 pathway was activated and p38 was suppressed during the process. This study lays a foundation for the functional study of GPX2 and provides theoretical support for promoting subcutaneous fat reduction and muscle growth.

BACKGROUND: Chronic migraine (CM) is a debilitating neurofunctional disorder primarily affecting females, characterized by central sensitization. Central sensitization refers to the enhanced response to sensory stimulation, which involves changes in neuronal excitability, synaptic plasticity, and neurotransmitter release. Environmental enrichment (EE) can increase the movement, exploration, socialization and other behaviors of mice. EE has shown promising effects in various neurological disorders, but its impact on CM and the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine whether EE has the potential to serve as a cost-effective intervention strategy for CM. METHODS: A mouse CM model was successfully established by repeated administration of nitroglycerin (NTG). We selected adult female mice around 8 weeks old, exposed them to EE for 2 months, and then induced the CM model. Nociceptive threshold tests were measured using Von Frey filaments and a hot plate. The expression of c-Fos, calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and inflammatory response were measured using WB and immunofluorescence to evaluate central sensitization. RNA sequencing was used to find differentially expressed genes and signaling pathways. Finally, the expression of the target differential gene was investigated. RESULTS: Repeated administration of NTG can induce hyperalgesia in female mice and increase the expression of c-Fos and CGRP in the trigeminal nucleus caudalis (TNC). Early exposure of mice to EE reduced NTG-induced hyperalgesia in CM mice. WB and immunofluorescence revealed that EE inhibited the overexpression of c-Fos and CGRP in the TNC of CM mice and alleviated the inflammatory response of microglia activation. RNA sequencing analysis identified that several central sensitization-related signaling pathways were altered by EE. VGluT1, a key gene involved in behavior, internal stimulus response, and ion channel activity, was found to be downregulated in mice exposed to EE. CONCLUSION: EE can significantly ameliorate hyperalgesia in the NTG-induced CM model. The mechanisms may be to modulate central sensitization by reducing the expression of CGRP, attenuating the inflammatory response, and downregulating the expression of VGluT1, etc., suggesting that EE can serve as an effective preventive strategy for CM.

Type-I and -III interferons play a central role in immune rejection of pathogens and tumors, thus promoting immunogenicity and suppressing tumor recurrence. Double strand RNA is an important ligand that stimulates tumor immunity via interferon responses. Differentiation of embryonic stem cells to pluripotent epithelial cells activates the interferon response during development, raising the question of whether epithelial vs. mesenchymal gene signatures in cancer potentially regulate the interferon pathway as well. Here, using genomics and signaling approaches, we show that Grainyhead-like-2 (GRHL2), a master programmer of epithelial cell identity, promotes type-I and -III interferon responses to double-strand RNA. GRHL2 enhanced the activation of IRF3 and relA/NF-kB and the expression of IRF1; a functional GRHL2 binding site in the IFNL1 promoter was also identified. Moreover, time to recurrence in breast cancer correlated positively with GRHL2 protein expression, indicating that GRHL2 is a tumor recurrence suppressor, consistent with its enhancement of interferon responses. These observations demonstrate that epithelial cell identity supports interferon responses in the context of cancer.

OBJECTIVE: White matter lesions (WMLs) increase the risk of stroke, stroke recurrence, and death. Higher plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC) increases the risk of stroke, acute myocardial infarction, and hypertension. To evaluate the relationship between PAC and cerebrovascular events in patients with hypertension and WMLs. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective cohort study that included 1041 participants hospitalized. The outcome was new-onset cerebrovascular events including intracerebral hemorrhage and stroke. A Cox regression model was used to evaluate the relationship between baseline PAC and the risk of cerebrovascular events. RESULTS: The mean age of participants was 60.9±10.2 years, and 565 (53.4%) were males. The median follow-up duration was 42 months (interquartile range [IQR]: 25-67), and 92 patients experienced new-onset cerebrovascular events. In a multivariate-adjusted model, with PAC as a continuous variable, higher PAC increased the risk of cerebrovascular events; patient risk increased per 1 (hazard ratio [HR: 1.03], 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.01-1.06, P < 0.01), per 5 (HR: 1.17, 95% CI: 1.06-1.31, P < 0.01), and per 10 ng/dL (HR: 1.41, 95%: 1.14-1.75, P < 0.01) increase in PAC. When PAC was expressed as a categorical variable (quartile: Q1-Q4), patients in Q4 (HR: 2.12, 95% CI: 1.18-3.79, P < 0.05) exhibited an increased risk of cerebrovascular events compared to Q1. Restrictive spline regression showed a linear association between PAC and the risk of new-onset cerebrovascular events after adjusting for all possible variables. CONCLUSIONS: Our study identified a linear association between PAC and the risk of new-onset cerebrovascular events in patients with hypertension and WMLs.

Coagulation alterations manifest early after severe burns and are closely linked to mortality outcomes. Nevertheless, the precise characterization of coagulation changes associated with early mortality remains elusive. We examined alterations in indicators linked to mortality outcomes at both the transcriptomic and clinical characteristic levels. At the transcriptomic level, we pinpointed 28 differentially expressed coagulation-related genes (DECRGs) following burn injuries and endeavored to validate their causal relationships through Mendelian randomization. DECRGs tied to survival exhibit a significant association with neutrophil function, wherein the expression of CYP4F2 and P2RX1 serves as robust predictors of fatal outcomes. In terms of clinical indicators, early levels of D-dimer and alterations in serum calcium show a strong correlation with mortality outcomes. Coagulation depletion and fibrinolytic activation, stemming from the hyperactivation of coagulation pathways post-severe burns, are strongly linked to patient mortality. Monitoring these early coagulation markers with predictive value can effectively identify individuals necessitating priority critical care.

The tailored spatial intimacy of the bimetallic sites demonstrated distinct catalytic performance for the oxidation of benzylalcohol. Culex pipiens pallens Coquillett, 1898 (Diptera: Culicidae) was the dominant health threat to mosquito species in Beijing, and it is important to unravel the spatial distribution and environmental correlations of Cx. pipiens pallens in Beijing. 3S technology methods and spatial statistics were used to clarify the distribution pattern. Subsequently, linear and spatial regression were performed to detect the environmental factors linked with the density of Cx. pipiens pallens. The same "middle peak" spatial distribution pattern was observed for Cx. pipiens pallens density at the community, subdistrict, and loop area levels in our study area. In addition, there were various correlated environmental factors at the community and subdistrict scales. At the community scale, the summary values of the Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI) in 2 km buffer zone (MNDWI_2K) were negatively correlated, and the summary values of Normalized Difference Built-up Index (NDBI) in 800 m buffer zone (NDBI_800) was positively correlated to the Cx. pipiens pallens density. However, the summary values of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index and Nighttime Light Index significantly affected Cx. pipiens pallens density at the subdistrict scale. Our findings provide insight into the spatial distribution pattern of Cx. pipiens pallens density and its associated environmental risk factors at different spatial scales in the Haidian district of Beijing for the first time. The results could be used to predict the Cx. pipiens pallens density as well as the risk of lymphatic filariasis (LF) infection, which would help implement prevention and control measures to prevent future risks of biting and LF transmission in Beijing.

Flame retardants could improve the safety properties of lithium batteries (LBs) with the sacrifice of electrochemical performance due to parasitic reactions. To concur with this, we designed thermal-response clothes for hexachlorophosphazene (HCP) additives by the microcapsule technique with urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin as the shell. HCP@UF combines with polyacrylonitrile (PAN) by hydrogen bonds successfully to form PAN-HCP@UF as the flame-retardant solid polymer electrolyte. The hydrogen bonds ensure excellent mechanical properties of the polymer electrolyte. The multiscale free radical-annihilating agent HCP effectively eliminates hydrogen free radicals of electrolytes under high temperature, showing excellent flame retardation. During the operation of the battery, functional groups on the UF resin act as active sites to promote the migration of lithium ions, while the internal HCP is protected from electrochemical reaction. With 25% HCP@UF addition, the limiting oxygen index of the PAN-HCP@UF increases to 28% and the Li+ transfer number up to 0.80. By UF protection, the initial capacity retention rate of the Li||LFP battery that assembles with PAN-HCP@UF is 88.8% after 500 cycles at 0.5 C. Thus, the microcapsule-encapsulated approach is deemed to provide an innovative strategy to prepare high-safety solid-state LB with a stable long cycle life.

Atomic doping is widely employed to fine-tune crystal structures, energy band structures, and the corresponding electrical properties. However, due to the difficulty in precisely regulating doping sites and concentrations, establishing a relationship between electricity properties and doping becomes a huge challenge. In this work, a modulation strategy on A-site cation dopant into spinel-phase metal sulfide Co9S8 lattice via Fe and Ni elements is developed to improve the microwave absorption (MA) properties. At the atomic scale, accurately controlling doped sites can introduce local lattice distortions and strain concentration. Tunned electron energy redistribution of the doped Co9S8 strengthens electron interactions, ultimately enhancing the high-frequency dielectric polarization (ɛ' from 10.5 to 12.5 at 12 GHz). For the Fe-doped Co9S8, the effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) at 1.7 mm increases by 5%, and the minimum reflection loss (RLmin) improves by 26% (EAB = 5.8 GHz, RLmin = -46 dB). The methodology of atomic-scale fixed-point doping presents a promising avenue for customizing the dielectric properties of nanomaterials, imparting invaluable insights for the design of cutting-edge high-performance microwave absorption materials.

OBJECTIVE: To systematically review and meta-analyze the efficacy and safety of salvage endoscopy for residual or recurrence of colorectal tumors after endoscopic resection. METHODS: Multiple databases including PubMed, EMBASE and the Cochrane Library were searched to screen for eligible studies and perform data extraction and pooled analysis. RESULTS: Sixteen studies on salvage endoscopy for residual or recurrent colorectal cancer after endoscopic resection were included, covering approximately 994 patients. The results of the meta-analysis demonstrated that salvage endoscopic therapy for residual or recurrent colorectal tumors following endoscopic resection achieved an en bloc resection rate of 92% (95% CI 0.85-0.97; I2 = 91%) and an R0 resection rate of 82% (95% CI 0.75-0.87; I2 = 78%). The rates of intraoperative or postoperative bleeding and perforation were 10%/1% and 5%/2%, and the recurrence rate was 2%. CONCLUSIONS: Salvage endoscopic resection is an effective and safe treatment strategy for residual or recurrent colorectal tumors after endoscopic resection.

OBJECTIVES: The translocation of intestinal flora has been linked to the colonization of diverse and heavy lower respiratory flora in patients with septic ARDS, and is considered a critical prognostic factor for patients. METHODS: On the first and third days of ICU admission, BALF, throat swab, and anal swab were collected, resulting in a total of 288 samples. These samples were analyzed using 16S rRNA analysis and the traceability analysis of new generation technology. RESULTS: On the first day, among the top five microbiota species in abundance, four species were found to be identical in BALF and throat samples. Similarly, on the third day, three microbiota species were found to be identical in abundance in both BALF and throat samples. On the first day, 85.16% of microorganisms originated from the throat, 5.79% from the intestines, and 9.05% were unknown. On the third day, 83.52% of microorganisms came from the throat, 4.67% from the intestines, and 11.81% were unknown. Additionally, when regrouping the 46 patients, the results revealed a significant predominance of throat microorganisms in BALF on both the first and third day. Furthermore, as the disease progressed, the proportion of intestinal flora in BALF increased in patients with enterogenic ARDS. CONCLUSIONS: In patients with septic ARDS, the main source of lung microbiota is primarily from the throat. Furthermore, the dynamic trend of the microbiota on the first and third day is essentially consistent.It is important to note that the origin of the intestinal flora does not exclude the possibility of its origin from the throat.

Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) has become a challenging problem in pig industry worldwide, causing significant profit losses. Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) has been regarded as a safe probiotic strain and has been shown to exert protective effects on the intestinal dysfunction caused by PEDV. This study evaluated the effect of LGG on the gut health of lactating piglets challenged with PEDV. Fifteen piglets at 7 days of age were equally assigned into 3 groups (5 piglets per group): 1) control group (basal diet); 2) PEDV group: (basal diet + PEDV challenged); 3) LGG + PEDV group (basal diet + 3×109 CFU/pig/day LGG + PEDV). The trial lasted 11 days including 3 days of adaptation. The treatment with LGG was from D4 to D10. PEDV challenge was carried out on D8. PEDV infection disrupted the cell structure, undermined the integrity of the intestinal tract, and induced oxidative stress, and intestinal damage of piglets. Supplementation of LGG improved intestinal morphology, enhanced intestinal antioxidant capacity, and alleviated jejunal mucosal inflammation and lipid metabolism disorders in PEDV-infected piglets, which may be regulated by LGG by altering the expression of TNF signaling pathway, PPAR signaling pathway, and fat digestion and absorption pathway.

OBJECTIVE: To compare the predictive value of hepatitis B virus (HBV) RNA and HBsAg quantification upon discontinuation of nucleos(t)ide analogues (NAs) therapy for clinical and virological relapse in chronic hepatitis B (CHB). STUDY DESIGN: Observational study. Place and Duration of the Study: Department of Infectious Diseases and Hepatology, The Second Hospital of Shandong University, Jinan, China, from July 2014 to December 2020. METHODOLOGY: CHB patients received single NAs and discontinued treatment following appropriate standards. HBsAg quantification was conducted using the i2000 Chemiluminescent Immunoassay (CLIA) Analyser, while serum HBV RNA quantification was performed using specific RNA target capture and simultaneous amplification and testing. The main observational endpoints included virological relapse and clinical relapse. RESULTS: Eighty-one patients were recruited, with 15 patients achieving HBsAg loss at cessation. Twenty-nine individuals encountered virological relapse, while 13 patients experienced clinical relapse. Thirty-one patients achieved HBsAg <100 IU/ml at NAs cessation, among whom 26 achieved undetectable HBV RNA, while four patients suffered virological relapse (15.4%). Serum HBV RNA emerged as an independent determinant of virological relapse (HR 1.850), clinical relapse (HR 2.020), and HBsAg loss after NAs cessation (HR 0.138). The presence of HBsAg <100 IU/ml at cessation did not serve as a predictor for virological relapse and clinical relapse. CONCLUSION: Lower HBV RNA levels predict a better off-treatment response. Discontinuation of prolonged NAs therapy appears as a viable and safe choice for patients with undetectable HBV RNA. In comparison to HBV RNA, HBsAg <100 IU/ml at cessation did not show sufficient predictive value for virological relapse and clinical relapse. In this study, peptide-based self-assembled nanosheets with a thickness of approximately 1 nm were prepared using a hierarchical covalent physical fabrication strategy. The covalent alternating polymerization of helical peptide E3 with an azobenzene (AZO) structure yielded copolymers CoP(E3-AZO), which physically self-assembled into ultrathin nanosheets in an unanticipated two-dimensional horizontal monolayer arrangement. This special monolayer arrangement enabled the thickness of the nanosheets to be equal to the cross-sectional diameter of a single linear copolymer, which is a rare phenomenon. Molecular dynamics simulations suggested that the synergistic effect of multiple molecular interactions drives the self-assembly of CoP(E3-AZO) into nanosheets and that various methods, including phototreatment, pH adjustment, the addition of additives, and introduction of cosolvents, can alter the molecular interactions and modulate the self-assembly of CoP(E3-AZO), yielding diverse nanostructures. Remarkably, the ultrathin nanosheets selectively inhibited cancer cells at certain concentrations.

A new detection platform based on a hydroxylated covalent organic framework (COF) integrated with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was constructed and used for detecting adrenergic receptor agonists (ARAs) residues in milk. The hydroxylated COF was prepared by polymerization of tris(4-aminophenyl)amine and 1,3,5-tris(4-formyl-3-hydroxyphenyl)benzene and applied to solid-phase extraction (SPE) of ARAs. This hydroxylated COF was featured with hierarchical flower-like morphology, easy preparation, and copious active adsorption sites. The adsorption model fittings and molecular simulation were applied to explore the potential adsorption mechanism. This detection platform was suitable for detecting four α2- and five ß2-ARAs residues in milk. The linear ranges of the ARAs were from 0.25 to 50 µg·kg-1; the intra-day and the inter-day repeatability were in the range 2.9-7.9% and 2.0-10.1%, respectively. This work demonstrates this hydroxylated COF has great potential as SPE cartridge packing, and provides a new way to determine ARAs residues in milk.
