RESUMEN

Pyroptosis is a newly recognized type of programmed cell death mediated by the gasdermin family and caspase. It is characterized by the formation of inflammasomes and the following inflammatory responses. Recent studies have elucidated the value of pyroptosis induction in cancer treatment. The inflammatory cytokines produced during pyroptosis can trigger immune responses to suppress malignancy. Physical approaches for cancer treatment, including radiotherapy, light-based techniques (photodynamic and photothermal therapy), ultrasound-based techniques (sonodynamic therapy and focused ultrasound), and electricity-based techniques (irreversible electroporation and radiofrequency ablation), are effective in clinical application. Recent studies have reported that pyroptosis is involved in the treatment process of physical approaches. Manipulating pyroptosis using physical approaches can be utilized in combating cancer, according to recent studies. Pyroptosis-triggered immunotherapy can be combined with the original anti-tumor methods to achieve a synergistic therapy and improve the therapeutic effect. Studies have also revealed that enhancing pyroptosis may increase the sensitivity of cancer cells to some physical approaches. Herein, we present a comprehensive review of the literature focusing on the associations between pyroptosis and various physical approaches for cancer and its underlying mechanisms. We also discussed the role of pyroptosis-triggered immunotherapy in the treatment process of physical manipulation.

While the negative consequences of particular illnesses have been associated with the neutrophil percentage to albumin ratio (NPAR), its association with cardiovascular disease (CVD) is still lacking in the broader public. This study examines the relationship between NPAR and CVD prevalence using information from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), with particular attention to potential nonlinear associations. This analysis included 26,225 adults from NHANES 2011-2020. We investigated the association between NPAR levels and CVD using weighted generalized linear models, subgroup analysis, threshold effects, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, and sensitivity analysis. Restricted cubic splines were used to assess potential nonlinearity in the NPAR-CVD association. Elevated NPAR levels were significantly associated with increased CVD prevalence (P < 0.001). In model 3, individuals in the highest NPAR quartile had a 46% greater CVD prevalence compared to those in the lowest quartile [OR: 1.46 (1.16, 1.83), P = 0.002], a finding consistent across unweighted logistic regression models. This association remained unchanged by various factors (P > 0.05). While restricted cubic spline analysis indicated potential nonlinearity, it did not significantly improve model fit over the linear model (P > 0.05). This study identifies a significant association between NPAR and CVD prevalence among the broader populace, suggesting the potential influence of inflammation on cardiovascular disease.

PURPOSE: To assess the predictive value of the 21-gene recurrence score (RS) on the survival outcomes of postoperative radiotherapy (PORT) in elderly patients with T1N0 luminal breast cancer after breast-conserving surgery. METHODS: We retrospectively included patients aged ≥ 70 years and diagnosed with T1N0 luminal BC between 2004 and 2015 using the data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results. The RS groups were categorized using the TAILORx criteria as follows: low risk (RS < 11) (LR), intermediate risk (RS 11-25) (IR), and high risk (RS > 25) (HR). Kaplan-Meier analysis, propensity score matching (PSM), and Cox proportional hazards analysis were used for statistical analysis. RESULTS: We included 5901 patients in the analysis. Of the patients, 4492 (76.1%) underwent PORT, while 1409 (23.9%) did not receive PORT. There were 1588 (26.9%), 3613 (61.2%), and 700 (12.0%) patients classified as LR, IR, and HR, respectively. There were 1182 (74.4%), 2773 (76.8%), and 537 (76.7%) patients in the LR, IR, and HR groups receiving PORT, respectively (P = 0.182). A total of 1353 pairs of patients were completely matched using PSM. PORT was independently associated with better overall survival (OS) (P < 0.001) and breast cancer-specific survival (BCSS) (P = 0.015) in the entire cohort. The sensitivity analyses showed that the receipt of PORT was not associated with OS (P = 0.887) and BCSS (P = 0.861) in the LR group. However, the receipt of PORT was associated with OS (P < 0.001) and BCSS in the IRHR group (P = 0.026). CONCLUSION: Our study highlights the possible role of the 21-gene RS in predicting the survival outcomes of PORT following BCS in elderly patients with T1N0 luminal breast cancer.

The prolonged dependence on industrial development has accentuated the cumulative effects of pollutants. Simultaneously, influenced by land construction activities and green space depletion, the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect in cities has intensified year by year, jeopardizing the foundation of sustainable urban development. Prudent urban spatial planning holds the potential to robustly ameliorate the persistent deterioration of the UHI phenomenon. This study selects Jinan City as a case study and employs spatial autocorrelation and spatial regression algorithms to explore the spatiotemporal evolution of urban-rural patterns at the township scale. The aim is to identify key factors driving the spatiotemporal differentiation of Land Surface Temperature (LST) from 2013 to 2022. The research reveals a trend of initially rising and subsequently falling LST in various townships, with low-temperature concentration areas in the southern mountainous region and the northern plain area. The "West-Central-East" main urban axis and the southeast Laiwu District exhibit high-temperature zones. Significant influences on LST are attributed to pollution levels, topographical factors, urbanization levels, and urban greenness. The global Moran's Index for LST exceeds 0.7, indicating a strong positive spatial correlation. Cluster analysis results indicate High-High (HH) clustering in the central Shizhong District and Low-Low (LL) clustering in the northern Shanghe County. Multiscale Geographically Weighted Regression (MGWR) outperforms Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) and Ordinary Linear Regression (OLR), providing a more accurate reflection of the regression relationships between variables. By investigating the spatiotemporal evolution of LST and its driving factors at the township scale, this study contributes insights for future urban planning and sustainable development.

As a new generation of display technology, micro-light-emitting diodes (micro-LEDs) have been widely recognized owing to their excellent performance in brightness, contrast ratio, resolution, etc. This work proposes a continuous wave (CW) laser writing strategy to achieve perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) array with small pixel size and pitch, overcoming the processing difficulties and limitations of mass transfer. Since PQDs have highly dynamic surface ligand states and low ionic bond energy, suitable laser power can quench PQDs and form an array area. The use of low-power CW lasers in the laser direct writing process, on the one hand, greatly maintains the luminescence performance and edge flatness of each PQD array, and the pixel pitch (1.5 µm-9 µm)/size can be adjusted arbitrarily, which meets the high-resolution micro-display requirements. On the other hand, we found that after the low-power laser quenches the PQDs, its residual oxide can absorb photons, thus reducing the backlight leakage in color conversion micro-LEDs. Finally, red/green/blue three-color conversion micro-LED and laser projection displays were realized; these results provide a feasible strategy for next-generation micro-LED displays.

ZIF-67 was grown in situ on carbon cloth (CC) using a simple one-step method. The prepared ZIF-67/CC electrodes exhibited excellent CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) performance in a dielectric barrier discharge plasma reactor. The highest concentrations of produced formic acid and formaldehyde were 9.16 and 0.068 mmol L-1 at a reaction time of 1 h, respectively. The high performance is related to the unique high aspect ratio structure and pad-like cavity of ZIF-67, which results not only in an increase in the specific surface area for CO2 adsorption but also in the hydrophobicity of the electrode. Unexpectedly, the superoxide radical (·O2-) greatly affects the reduction performance of the electrode. In addition, the ZIF-67/CC electrode maintained good CO2RR performance in the presence of different pollutants, and the production of formic acid and formaldehyde increased to 10.81 and 0.11 mmol L-1 at 1 h with the addition of 10 mg L-1 phenol. This research provides new directions in the field of plasma catalysis.

BACKGROUND: The 3-piece inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) is the most widely used device for erectile dysfunction refractory to medications, containing a reservoir inserted into the retropubic space (RPS) or an alternative/ectopic space (AES). Indications for removal of the reservoir include malfunction, malposition, or infection. In revision cases without infection, reservoir removal is sometimes optional. AIM: We reviewed outcomes and complications related to reservoir removal from a large multi-institutional series. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed databases at 6 institutions over 7 years. Patients with artificial urethral sphincter, urethral sling, or mini-jupette were excluded. OUTCOMES: Outcomes and complications related to IPP reservoir removal were analyzed. Data were collected, but only reservoir-related complications at surgery were included. Data were compared between the RPS and AES cohorts to evaluate differences with a χ2 test, with significance at P < .05. RESULTS: Of 215 cases, there were 172 RPS and 43 AES reservoirs. The mean patient age was 65.3 years. An overall 131 procedures were due to malfunction and 49 to malposition of an IPP component; 35 were secondary to infection. Among those retained (n = 44), reasons included reuse, avoiding surrounding structure damage, and difficult dissection. Among those removed (n = 171), 15 required a counterincision. To determine the statistical difference between those removed from the RPS and an AES, the χ2 test result was P = .00059, indicating a significant difference in the need for a counterincision between the groups. Complications included bladder perforation (n = 1) in the RPS group and an avulsion of the epigastric vessels requiring abdominal exploration (n = 1) in the AES group. To determine the statistical difference between RPS and AES complications, the χ2 test result was P = .365, indicating no significant difference between the groups. STRENGTHS AND LIMITATIONS: Strengths include being a multi-institutional study with high-volume skilled implanters. Limitations include being a retrospective review, with implanters exclusively performing penoscrotal incisions and not utilizing an infrapubic approach. Last, there was a lack of long-term follow-up with these patients. CONCLUSIONS: Removal of an IPP reservoir remains safe, with few intraoperative complications. Surgeons should be aware of the inferior epigastric vessels during removal in an AES or be willing to perform a counterincision to avoid injury to surrounding structures. Surgeons should also obtain preoperative imaging to identify the specific location of the reservoir and adjacent anatomy. This is the first multi-institutional study reviewing outcomes related to reservoir removal during IPP revision or removal surgery.

The egg parasitoid Anastatus japonicus is a key natural enemy in the biological control of various agricultural and forestry pests. It is particularly used against the brown marmorated stink bug Halyomorpha halys and the emerging defoliator pest Caligula japonica in East Asia. It has been proved that the eggs of Antheraea pernyi can be used as a factitious host for the mass production of A. japonicus. This study systematically documented the parasitic behaviour and developmental morphology exhibited by A. japonicus on the eggs of A. pernyi. The parasitic behaviour of A. japonicus encompassed ten steps including searching, antennation, locating, digging, probing, detecting, oviposition, host-feeding, grooming, and resting. Oviposition, in particular, was observed to occur in three stages, with the parasitoids releasing eggs during the second stage when the body remained relatively static. Among all the steps of parasitic behaviour, probing accounted for the longest time, constituting 33.1% of the whole time. It was followed by digging (19.3%), oviposition (18.5%), antennation (9.6%), detecting (7.4%), and the remaining steps, each occupying less than 5.0% of the total event time. The pre-emergence of adult A. japonicus involves four stages: egg (0 to 2nd day), larva (3rd to 9th day), pre-pupa (10th to 13th day), pupa (14th to 22nd day), and subsequent development into an adult. Typically, it takes 25.60 ± 0.30 days to develop from an egg to an adult at 25℃. This information increases the understanding of the biology of A. japonicus and may provide a reference for optimising reproductive devices.

Chalkiness is an important grain quality trait in rice. Chalk5, encoding a vacuolar H+-translocating pyrophosphatase, is a major gene affecting both the percentage of grains with chalkiness (PGWC) and chalkiness degree (DEC) in rice. Reducing its expression can decrease both PGEC and DEC. In this study, the first exon of Chalk5 was edited in the elite restorer line 9311 using the CRISPR/Cas9 system and two knockout mutants were obtained, one of which did not contain the exogenous Cas9 cassette. PGWC and DEC were both significantly reduced in both mutants, while the seed setting ratio (SSR) was also significantly decreased. Staggered sowing experiments showed that the chalkiness of the mutants was insensitive to temperature during the grain-filling stage, and the head milled rice rate (HMRR) could be improved even under high-temperature conditions. Finally, in the hybrid background, the mutants showed significantly reduced PGWC and DEC without changes in other agronomic traits. The results provide important germplasm and allele resources for breeding high-yield rice varieties with superior quality, especially for high-yield indica hybrid rice varieties with superior quality in high-temperature conditions.

RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES: To investigate the predictive value of coronary CT angiography (CCTA)-based radiomics for vessel-specific ischemia by stress dynamic CT myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patients with typical angina/atypical angina/non-angina chest pain who underwent both stress dynamic CT MPI and CCTA scans were retrospectively enrolled. The following models were constructed for ischemic prediction using logistic regression and CCTA-derived quantitative and radiomic features: plaque quantitative model, lumen quantitative model, CT-fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR) model, integrative quantitative model, plaque radiomic model, peri-coronary adipose tissue (pCAT) radiomic model, integrative radiomic model, and quantitative and radiomic fusion model. A relative myocardial blood flow ≤ 0.75 on stress dynamic CT MPI was considered ischemic. The models' performances were quantified by the area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve (AUC). RESULTS: 386 coronary vessels (stenosis grade: 25%∼75%; training set: 200 [ischemia/non-ischemia=96/104]; test set:186 [ischemia/non-ischemia=79/107]) from 326 patients were included. The plaque radiomic model (training/test set: AUC=0.81/0.80) outperformed (p < .05) both the plaque quantitative (training/test set: AUC=0.71/0.68) model and the lumen quantitative (training/test set: AUC=0.69/0.65) model in identifying ischemia. The integrative radiomic model (training/test set: AUC=0.83/0.82) outperformed (p < .05) the CT-FFR model (training/test set: AUC=0.74/0.73) for ischemic prediction. The quantitative and radiomic fusion model (training/test set: AUC=0.86/0.84) outperformed (p < .05) the integrative quantitative model (training/test set: AUC=0.79/0.77) for ischemic detection. CONCLUSION: The plaque and pCAT radiomic features were superior to the plaque and pCAT quantitative features in predicting ischemia and the addition of the radiomic features to the quantitative features for ischemic identification yielded incremental discriminatory value.

A cascade oxidation/Pictet-Spengler condensation/annulation process has been developed for the one-pot total synthesis of nitramarine, nitraridine, and their analogues. The procedure proceeded with easily available quinolines and tryptophan derivatives. A simple and metal-free approach, wide substrate scope, and functional group tolerance make it applicable for the synthesis of diverse bioactive nitramarine, nitraridine, and their derivatives. Furthermore, the bioactivity evaluation has identified two promising leading compounds 5d and 5e with potent antitumor proliferative activity against breast cancer cells.

BACKGROUND: Polydactyly is a prevalent congenital anomaly with an incidence of 2.14 per 1000 live births in China. GLI family zinc finger 3 (GLI3) is a classical causative gene of polydactyly, and serves as a pivotal transcription factor in the hedgehog signaling pathway, regulating the development of the anterior-posterior axis in limbs. METHODS: Three pedigrees of polydactyly patients were enrolled from Hunan Province, China. Pathogenic variants were identified by whole-exome sequencing (WES) and Sanger sequencing. RESULTS: Three variants in GLI3 were identified in three unrelated families, including a novel deletion variant (c.1372del, p.Thr458GlnfsTer44), a novel insertion-deletion (indel) variant (c.1967_1968delinsAA, p.Ser656Ter), and a nonsense variant (c.2374 C > T, p.Arg792Ter). These variants were present exclusively in patients but not in healthy individuals. CONCLUSIONS: We identified three pathogenic GLI3 variants in polydactyly patients, broadening the genetic spectrum of GLI3 and contributing significantly to genetic counseling and diagnosis for polydactyly.

Background: Oxidative stress is a known pathogenic mechanism in cardiovascular disease (CVD), yet the association between dietary antioxidants and CVD in the general population remains underexplored. This study leverages data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to investigate the association of a composite dietary antioxidant index with CVD in US adults. Methods: Analyzing data from 25,997 adults (2011-2020 NHANES), we employed weighted generalized linear models, subgroup analysis, threshold effect analyses, and sensitivity analysis to assess the association between dietary antioxidants and CVD. Nonlinear associations were explored through a restricted cubic spline, with gender-specific stratification and threshold effect analysis to identify critical inflection points. Results: Increasing levels of the composite dietary antioxidant index corresponded with decreased CVD prevalence (P < 0.001). In all models, weighted generalized linear models revealed a consistent negative association between CVD prevalence. And in Model 3, Quartile 4 had a 29% lower CVD prevalence than Quartile 1[0.71 (0.59, 0.85), P < 0.001]. Meanwhile, the findings of the unweighted logistic regression model demonstrated stability. Various characteristics such as sex, age, race, PIR, education, BMI, alcohol consumption, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes did not influence this inverse association (P for interaction >0.05). Notably a nonlinear association was observed, with a significant inflection point at 3.05 among women. Conclusion: This study demonstrates a strong negative association between the composite dietary antioxidant index and CVD prevalence, suggesting the potential protective role of dietary antioxidants. These findings underscore the need for prospective studies to further understand the impact of oxidative stress on cardiovascular health.

Background: The association between insulin resistance and cardiovascular diseases (CVD) is of significant interest. However, there is limited published research on the relationship between CVD and the triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI). This study aims to examine the association between TyG-BMI and CVD in US adults. Method: We analyzed data from 11016 adults collected through the 2011-2020 NHANES. Employing weighted generalized linear models, subgroup analysis, sensitivity analysis, and receiver operating characteristic curves, we examined the association between the TyG-BMI index and CVD. Nonlinear associations were investigated using restricted cubic splines. Results: Higher TyG-BMI values were significantly associated with an increased prevalence of CVD (P<0.001). Weighted generalized linear models consistently demonstrated a positive association across all models. Specifically, individuals in the highest tertile of TyG-BMI had a 38% higher CVD prevalence than those in the lowest quartile (OR=1.380; 95% CI=1.080, 1.763). Unweighted logistic regression models further confirmed these findings. Sex, race, education, family income to poverty ratio, smoking, hypertension, and diabetes did not modify this positive association (P for interaction >0.05). Incorporating the TyG-BMI index into traditional risk factor models marginally improved the prediction of CVD prevalence (P for comparison <0.05). Conclusions: The TyG-BMI index, an indicator of insulin resistance, is significantly positive associated with a higher prevalence of CVD. These findings underscore the importance of managing insulin resistance to prevent CVD and highlight the need for further research into the underlying mechanisms of this association.

OBJECTIVE: To explore their perceptions and attitudes toward condom use and the underlying reasons for the low usage frequency among Chinese older adults. METHODS: A qualitative study design utilizing interpretive phenomenological analysis was employed. Data were collected through field observation and face-to-face in-depth interviews among older adults aged 50 years or above and having engaged in sexual activities within the previous year. RESULTS: Three main themes emerged: perceiving unnecessary due to misconceptions and low awareness, interactive stereotypes rooted in sociocultural beliefs, and stigmatized social norms including gender inequity and economic unbalance. CONCLUSIONS: Tailored interventions focusing on addressing misconceptions, increasing awareness, and reducing culturally ingrained stereotypes and stigma surrounding condom use are essential to promote condom use among older adults in order to prevent HIV transmission in China.

The chloroplast biogenesis occurs in cotyledon during alfalfa seed germination before true leaf formation, and is extremely important for the followed plant development and growth. In this study, we conducted a simulation of alfalfa seed germination in the soil by using tin foil and focused on 10 pivotal time points of chloroplast biogenesis in cotyledons before and after light exposure, which showed significant differences in multispectral images, and covered the whole process of chloroplast biogenesis from proplastid, etioplast to mature chloroplast. We revealed three phases that referred to the programmed involvements of photosynthesis promotion, ultrastructure maturity, transcriptomic expression, and protein complex construction, and observed distinct transcriptional expressions of genes from nuclear and chloroplast genomes. In phase I at dark germination before light exposure, chloroplast-encoded genes showed up-regulated expressions together with the importation of chloroplast proteins. In phase II for the first day after light exposure, nuclear-encoded genes' expressions were initiated at 2 h after light exposure (E2h), followed by swift assembly of chloroplast thylakoid membrane protein complexes, and roaring Fv/Fm and contents of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and carotenoid. The initiation at E2h was pronounced by the observation of gradual accumulation of single lamella, and facilitated the formation of granum stacks (thylakoid) at E8h in phase II. In phase III from the second day after light exposure, chloroplast became gradually complete with the fully established photosynthetic capacity. Altogether, our results layed a theoretical foundation for enhancing potential photosynthetic efficiency in alfalfa and related species.

The egg parasitoid Mesocomys trabalae Yao, Yang, and Zhao is used as a biocontrol agent against the emerging defoliator pest Caligula japonica Moore in East Asia. It has been proven that the eggs of Antheraea pernyi Guérin-Méneville can be used as a factitious host for the mass production of M. trabalae. We examined the parasitic behavior and morphological characteristics of the developmental stages of M. trabalae reared on A. pernyi eggs. The parasitic behavior of M. trabalae encompasses 10 steps, involving searching, antennation, locating the oviposition site, drilling, probing, detecting, oviposition, host feeding, grooming, and resting, with the oviposition step further divided into 3 stages. We determined that the parasitoid released an egg during the second stage of the oviposition step, while her body remained in a relatively static state. Among all the steps in parasitic behavior, probing occupied the longest time, accounting for 26.33% of the entire parasitism process. It was followed by oviposition (15.88%), drilling (15.10%), antennation (13.09%), detecting (10.79%), host feeding (10.02%), and the remaining steps, each occupying less than 5.00% of the total time in steps. The pre-emergence of adult M. trabalae comprised of 4 stages: egg (0-1 day), larva (2-6 days), prepupa (7-11 days), pupa (12-20 days), followed by the development into an adult, and it usually took 20-22 days to develop from an egg into an adult at 25°C. This study advances our understanding of the biology of Mesocomys parasitoids and their mass-rearing for use in augmentation programs.

Purpose: To investigate the treatment response and toxicity of the combination of induction chemotherapy (IC) and PD-1 inhibitor in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LANPC). Methods: Patients with stage III-IVA NPC who received IC or IC + PD-1 inhibitor were included. The chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used for statistical analysis. Results: A total of 225 patients were identified, including 193 (85.8%) and 32 (14.2%) who received IC alone and IC + PD-1 inhibitor, respectively. The addition of PD-1 inhibitor to IC significantly improved the tumor response than those treated with IC alone. The complete response (CR), partial response, stable disease, and progressive disease rates of 4.7% vs. 31.3%, 69.4% vs. 62.5%, 24.9% vs. 6.3%, and 1.0% vs. 0% in patients receiving IC alone and IC + PD-1 inhibitor, respectively (P<0.001). The results of the multivariate logistic regression showed that receiving PD-1 inhibitor was an independent predictor influencing the CR rate of patients (odds ratio 9.814, P<0.001). The most common toxicity by using IC and PD-1 inhibitor was hematological toxicity. In terms of non-hematological toxicity, 7 (21.9%) patients experienced thyroid dysfunction and all of them were hyperthyroidism. No grade 5 toxicities were found. In those who received IC and PD-1 inhibitor, the one-year locoregional recurrence-free survival, distant metastasis-free survival, disease-free survival, and overall survival were 100%, 96.9%, 96.9%, and 100%, respectively. Conclusion: The addition of PD-1 inhibitor to IC has promise as an effective treatment approach for LANPC. More studies are expected to provide further insights into the optimal use of this treatment strategy, paving the way for more personalized and effective treatment options for patients with LANPC.

AIM: To investigate the short-term efficacy and safety of inebilizumab for neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD). METHODS: A total of 33 patients with NMOSD treated with inebilizumab (Group INB, n=15) or rituximab (Group RTX, n=18) in addition to high-dose glucocorticoids were included. Both groups underwent hormone shock therapy during the acute phase. Subsequently, Group INB received inebilizumab injections during the remission phase, while Group RTX received rituximab injections. A comparison of aquaporins 4 (AQP4) titer values, peripheral blood B lymphocyte counts, and visual function recovery was conducted before and 8wk after treatment. Additionally, adverse reactions and patient tolerability were analyzed after using inebilizumab treatment regimes. RESULTS: Following inebilizumab treatment, there was a significantly improvement in the visual acuity of NMOSD patients (P<0.05), accompanied by a notable decrease in AQP4 titer values and B lymphocyte ratio (P<0.05). Moreover, inebilizumab treatment showed a partial effect in preventing optic nerve atrophy (P<0.05). However, there were no significant differences in other therapeutic effects compared to rituximab, which has previously demonstrated substantial therapeutic efficacy (P>0.05). Furthermore, inebilizumab exhibited higher safety levels than that of rituximab injections. CONCLUSION: The combination of inebilizumab and high-dose glucocorticoids proves to be effective. In comparison to rituximab injections, inebilizumab displays better tolerance and safety. Moreover, it demonstrates a partial effect in preventing optic nerve atrophy. Thus, it stands as an effective method to reduce the disability rates and improve the daily living ability of patients with NMOSD.
