RESUMEN

Accurate delineation of Gross Tumor Volume (GTV) is crucial for radiotherapy. Deep learning-driven GTV segmentation technologies excel in rapidly and accurately delineating GTV, providing a basis for radiologists in formulating radiation plans. The existing 2D and 3D segmentation models of GTV based on deep learning are limited by the loss of spatial features and anisotropy respectively, and are both affected by the variability of tumor characteristics, blurred boundaries, and background interference. All these factors seriously affect the segmentation performance. To address the above issues, a Layer-Volume Parallel Attention (LVPA)-UNet model based on 2D-3D architecture has been proposed in this study, in which three strategies are introduced. Firstly, 2D and 3D workflows are introduced in the LVPA-UNet. They work in parallel and can guide each other. Both the fine features of each slice of 2D MRI and the 3D anatomical structure and spatial features of the tumor can be extracted by them. Secondly, parallel multi-branch depth-wise strip convolutions adapt the model to tumors of varying shapes and sizes within slices and volumetric spaces, and achieve refined processing of blurred boundaries. Lastly, a Layer-Channel Attention mechanism is proposed to adaptively adjust the weights of slices and channels according to their different tumor information, and then to highlight slices and channels with tumor. The experiments by LVPA-UNet on 1010 nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) MRI datasets from three centers show a DSC of 0.7907, precision of 0.7929, recall of 0.8025, and HD95 of 1.8702 mm, outperforming eight typical models. Compared to the baseline model, it improves DSC by 2.14 %, precision by 2.96 %, and recall by 1.01 %, while reducing HD95 by 0.5434 mm. Consequently, while ensuring the efficiency of segmentation through deep learning, LVPA-UNet is able to provide superior GTV delineation results for radiotherapy and offer technical support for precision medicine.

AIMS: Standard methods of heart chamber volume estimation in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) typically utilize simple geometric formulae based on a limited number of slices. We aimed to evaluate whether an automated deep learning neural network prediction of 3D anatomy of all four chambers would show stronger associations with cardiovascular risk factors and disease than standard volume estimation methods in the UK Biobank. METHODS: A deep learning network was adapted to predict 3D segmentations of left and right ventricles (LV, RV) and atria (LA, RA) at ∼1mm isotropic resolution from CMR short and long axis 2D segmentations obtained from a fully automated machine learning pipeline in 4723 individuals with cardiovascular disease (CVD) and 5733 without in the UK Biobank. Relationships between volumes at end-diastole (ED) and end-systole (ES) and risk/disease factors were quantified using univariate, multivariate and logistic regression analyses. Strength of association between deep learning volumes and standard volumes was compared using the area under the receiving operator characteristic curve (AUC). RESULTS: Univariate and multivariate associations between deep learning volumes and most risk and disease factors were stronger than for standard volumes (higher R2 and more significant P values), particularly for sex, age, and body mass index. AUC for all logistic regressions were higher for deep learning volumes than standard volumes (p<0.001 for all four chambers at ED and ES). CONCLUSIONS: Neural network reconstructions of whole heart volumes had significantly stronger associations with cardiovascular disease and risk factors than standard volume estimation methods in an automatic processing pipeline.

The Hubbard model is an iconic model in quantum many-body physics and has been intensely studied, especially since the discovery of high-temperature cuprate superconductors. Combining the complementary capabilities of two computational methods, we found superconductivity in both the electron- and hole-doped regimes of the two-dimensional Hubbard model with next-nearest-neighbor hopping. In the electron-doped regime, superconductivity was weaker and was accompanied by antiferromagnetic Néel correlations at low doping. The strong superconductivity on the hole-doped side coexisted with stripe order, which persisted into the overdoped region with weaker hole-density modulation. These stripe orders varied in fillings between 0.6 and 0.8. Our results suggest the applicability of the Hubbard model with next-nearest hopping for describing cuprate high-transition temperature (Tc) superconductivity.

Blood vessel segmentation is a crucial stage in extracting morphological characteristics of vessels for the clinical diagnosis of fundus and coronary artery disease. However, traditional convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are confined to learning local vessel features, making it challenging to capture the graph structural information and fail to perceive the global context of vessels. Therefore, we propose a novel graph neural network-guided vision transformer enhanced network (G2ViT) for vessel segmentation. G2ViT skillfully orchestrates the Convolutional Neural Network, Graph Neural Network, and Vision Transformer to enhance comprehension of the entire graphical structure of blood vessels. To achieve deeper insights into the global graph structure and higher-level global context cognizance, we investigate a graph neural network-guided vision transformer module. This module constructs graph-structured representation in an unprecedented manner using the high-level features extracted by CNNs for graph reasoning. To increase the receptive field while ensuring minimal loss of edge information, G2ViT introduces a multi-scale edge feature attention module (MEFA), leveraging dilated convolutions with different dilation rates and the Sobel edge detection algorithm to obtain multi-scale edge information of vessels. To avoid critical information loss during upsampling and downsampling, we design a multi-level feature fusion module (MLF2) to fuse complementary information between coarse and fine features. Experiments on retinal vessel datasets (DRIVE, STARE, CHASE_DB1, and HRF) and coronary angiography datasets (DCA1 and CHUAC) indicate that the G2ViT excels in robustness, generality, and applicability. Furthermore, it has acceptable inference time and computational complexity and presents a new solution for blood vessel segmentation.

Introduction: Attaining a favorable work-life balance is a complex and ongoing challenge in the nursing profession. According to a person-context interactionist perspective and the two-factor theory, this study investigated the underlying mechanism by which organizational support impacts work-family enrichment via protective factors (i.e., decent work) and depleting factors (i.e., burnout) among Chinese nurses. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional research design was utilized in this study, employing an online questionnaire as the primary method for data collection. The study included 355 nurses who completed a self-reported questionnaire designed to measure variables such as organizational support, decent work, burnout, work-family enrichment, and demographic information. The collected data were analyzed using a chain mediation model in PROCESS macro (Model 6). Results: The findings of the analysis revealed that nurses reporting higher levels of organizational support also exhibited a greater sense of work-family enrichment. Moreover, the study identified indirect effects of organizational support on work-family enrichment, mediated by decent work and burnout. Discussion: These findings suggest that targeted interventions aimed at promoting organizational support can contribute to the overall well-being and work-life balance of nurses.

An efficient palladium-catalyzed carbonylation of aryl fluorosulfates with aryl formates for the facile synthesis of esters was developed. The cross-coupling reactions proceeded effectively in the presence of a palladium catalyst, phosphine ligand, and triethylamine in DMF to produce the corresponding esters in moderate to good yields. Of note, functionalities or substituents, such as nitro, cyano, methoxycarbonyl, trifluoromethyl, methylsulfonyl, trifluoromethoxy, fluoro, chloro, bromo, methyl, methoxy, N,N-dimethyl, and [1,3]dioxolyl, were well-tolerated in the reactions, which could be kept for late-stage modification. The reactions employing readily available and relatively robust aryl fluorosulfates as coupling electrophiles could potentially serve as an attractive alternative to traditional cross-couplings with the use of aryl halides and pseudohalides as substrates.

Objective: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory and destructive arthritis, characterized by inflammatory infiltration and bone destruction. Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction (HGWD) is traditional Chinese medicine, which has been applied in the treatment of RA in clinical. The aim of this study was to investigate the therapeutic effect of HGWD on collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) mouse model. Methods: DBA/1J female mice were used to establish the collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) model. HGWD was administered intragastrically once a day for four weeks starting on the 22nd day after the first immunization. The body weight, hind paw thickness and clinical score were measured every five days. Gait analysis, histopathological staining, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), ultrasound imaging and micro-computed tomography imaging were performed to determine the effects of HGWD treatment on inflammation and bone structure in this model. Moreover, Real-time PCR and Western blot analysis were used to detect inflammatory factors mRNA and protein levels after HGWD intervention in RAW 264.7 cells. Results: HGWD attenuated symptoms of arthritis, suppressed inflammatory synovium area and the serum levels of inflammatory factors, inhibited joint space enlargement in the knee and ankle joints, reduced numbers of osteoclasts, protected bone destruction, as well as improved motor function. HGWD decreased the expression of mRNA for inflammatory factors and the protein expression levels of p-NF-кB and IL-17. Conclusion: These results suggested that HGWD suppresses inflammation, attenuates bone erosion and maintains motor function in collagen-induced arthritis mice.

This research aims to investigate the causal effects of consumers' Covid-19 pandemic experiences on their preferences for sustainable consumption. Drawing on social identity theory, we argue that pandemic experiences heighten consumers' awareness of the importance of adhering to collective social norms, subsequently motivating them to adopt sustainable consumption practices that promote collective interests. Through three preregistered experiments, we demonstrate that: (i) Covid-19 pandemic experiences increase consumers' preferences for sustainable consumption; (ii) this effect is more pronounced for individuals with severer pandemic experiences and females; (iii) pandemic experiences influence sustainable consumption preferences by enhancing consumers' social normative compliance. This study contributes to the understanding of Covid-19's consequences from a micro-level perspective of consumer behavior and offers insights into the factors driving consumers' sustainable consumption preferences.

The consumption of poultry eggs has increased in recent years owing to the abundance of production and improvements in living standards. Thus, the safety requirements of poultry eggs have gradually increased. At present, few reports on analytical methods to determine banned veterinary drugs during egg-laying period in poultry eggs have been published. Therefore, establishing high-throughput and efficient screening methods to monitor banned veterinary drugs during egg-laying period is imperative. In this study, an analytical method based on ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) combined with QuEChERS-based techniques was developed for the simultaneous determination of 31 banned veterinary drugs encompassing nine drug classes (macrolides, antipyretic and analgesic drugs, sulfonamides, antibacterial synergists, anticoccidials, antinematodes, quinolones, tetracyclines, amphenicols) in different types of poultry eggs. The main factors affecting the response, recovery, and sensitivity of the method, such as the extraction solvent, purification adsorbent, LC separation conditions, and MS/MS parameters, were optimized during sample pretreatment and instrumental analysis. The 31 veterinary drug residues in 2.00 g eggs were extracted with 2 mL of 0.1 mol/L ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid disodium solution and 8 mL 3% acetic acid acetonitrile solution, and salted out with 2 g of sodium chloride. After centrifugation, 5 mL of the supernatant was cleaned-up using the QuEChERS method with 100 mg of octadecylsilane-bonded silica gel (C18), 50 mg of N-propylethylenediamine (PSA), and 50 mg of NH2-based sorbents. After nitrogen blowing and redissolution, the 31 target analytes were separated on a Waters CORTECS UPLC C18 analytical chromatographic column (150 mm×2.1 mm, 1.8 µm) at a flow rate, column temperature, and injection volume of 0.4 mL/min, 30 ℃, and 5 µL, respectively. Among these analytes, 26 analytes were acquired in dynamic multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode under positive electrospray ionization (ESI+) conditions using (A) 5 mmol/L ammonium acetate (pH 4.5) and (B) acetonitrile as mobile phases. The gradient elution program was as follows: 0-2.0 min, 12%B-30%B; 2.0-7.5 min, 30%B-50%B; 7.5-10.0 min, 50%B; 10.0-10.1 min, 50%B-100%B; 10.1-12.0 min, 100%B; 12.0-12.1 min, 100%B-12%B; The five other target analytes were acquired in MRM mode under negative electrospray ionization (ESI-) conditions using (A) H2O and (B) acetonitrile as mobile phases. The gradient elution program was as follows: 0-2.0 min, 12%B-40%B; 2.0-6.0 min, 40%B-80%B; 6.0-6.1 min, 80%B-100%B; 6.1-8.0 min, 100%B; 8.0-8.1 min, 100%B-12%B. Matrix-matched external standard calibration was used for quantification. The results showed that all the compounds had good linear relationships within their respective ranges, with correlation coefficients of >0.99. The limits of detection (LODs) and quantitation (LOQs) were 0.3-3.0 µg/kg and 1.0-10.0 µg/kg, respectively. The average recoveries of the 31 banned veterinary drugs spiked at three levels (LOQ, maximum residue limit (MRL), and 2MRL) in poultry eggs ranged from 61.2% to 105.7%, and the relative standard deviations (RSDs) ranged from 1.8% to 17.6%. The developed method was used to detect and analyze banned veterinary drugs in 30 commercial poultry egg samples, including 20 eggs, 5 duck eggs, and 5 goose eggs. Enrofloxacin was detected in one egg with a content of 12.3 µg/kg. The proposed method is simple, economical, practical, and capable of the simultaneous determination of multiple classes of banned veterinary drugs in poultry eggs.

Cyhalofop-butyl (CB) poses a significant threat to aquatic organisms, but there is a discrepancy in evidence about hepatotoxicity after prolonged exposure to environmental levels. The aim of this study was to investigate long-term hepatotoxicity and its effects on the gut-liver axis through the exposure of zebrafish to environmental concentrations of CB (0.1,1,10 µg/L) throughout their life cycle. Zebrafish experienced abnormal obesity symptoms and organ index after a prolonged exposure of 120 days. The gut-liver axis was found to be damaged both morphologically and functionally through an analysis of histology, electron microscopy subcellular structure, and liver function. The disruption of the gut-liver axis inflammatory process by CB is suggested by the rise in inflammatory factors and the alteration of inflammatory genes. Furthermore, there was a noticeable alteration in the blood and gut-liver axis biochemical parameters as well as gene expression linked to lipid metabolism, which may led to an imbalance in the gut flora. In conclusion, the connection between the gut-liver axis, intestinal microbiota, and liver leads to the metabolic dysfunction of zebrafish exposed to long-term ambient concentrations of CB, and damaged immune system and liver lipid metabolism. This study gives another knowledge into the hepatotoxicity component of long haul openness to ecological centralization of CB, and might be useful to assess the potential natural and wellbeing dangers of aryloxyphenoxypropionate herbicides.

BACKGROUND: Shunt obstruction is a type of ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VPS) failure. Whether changes in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) parameters can influence shunt outcomes or not is debatable. METHODS: In this study, we retrospectively included adult hydrocephalus patients who received VPS from 6 general hospitals in different provinces of China from November 2013 to September 2021. The inclusion criteria: Patients with hydrocephalus of all etiologies underwent shunt surgery from 6 general hospitals in different provinces of China were included in the study. The exclusion criteria: 1.Patients under the age of 18; 2.Patients who had previous shunt surgery; 3. Shunt failure from other factors; 4.Patients died from other causes; 5. Patients with incomplete data. The CSF of shunt patients had been analyzed at the time of shunt insertion. The CSF samples were collected and analyzed when the shunt was implanted. The relationship between CSF parameters and the incidence rate of shunt obstruction in one year was analyzed. RESULTS: A total of 717 eligible patients from 6 hospitals were included, of whom 59(8.23%) experienced obstruction. Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified that protein level(odds ratio [OR] 1.161, 95% CI 1.005 ~ 1.341, p = 0.043), decreased glucose level(< 2.5 mmol/L)(odds ratio 3.784, 95% confidence interval 1.872 ~ 7.652, p = 0.001) and protein level increase(> 0.45 g/L) (odds ratio 3.653, 95% confidence interval 1.931 ~ 6.910, p = 0.001)were independent risk factors of shunt obstruction. CONCLUSION: This study suggested that increased protein level (> 0.45 g/L) and decreased glucose level (< 2.5 mmol/L) in CSF indicated an increased risk of shunt obstruction in a patient with hydrocephalus. Thus, shunt surgery should be more carefully considered when the CSF glucose and protein were abnormal.

Fewer than 5% glioblastoma (GBM) patients survive over five years and are termed long-term survivors (LTS), yet their molecular background is unclear. The present cohort included 72 isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH)-wildtype GBM patients, consisting of 35 LTS and 37 short-term survivors (STS), and we employed whole exome sequencing, RNA-seq and DNA methylation array to delineate this largest LTS cohort to date. Although LTS and STS demonstrated analogous clinical characters and classical GBM biomarkers, CASC5 (P = 0.002) and SPEN (P = 0.013) mutations were enriched in LTS, whereas gene-to-gene fusions were concentrated in STS (P = 0.007). Importantly, LTS exhibited higher tumor mutation burden (P < 0.001) and copy number (CN) increase (P = 0.013), but lower mutant-allele tumor heterogeneity score (P < 0.001) and CN decrease (P = 0.026). Additionally, LTS demonstrated hypermethylated genome (P < 0.001) relative to STS. Differentially expressed and methylated genes both enriched in olfactory transduction. Further, analysis of the tumor microenvironment revealed higher infiltration of M1 macrophages (P = 0.043), B cells (P = 0.016), class-switched memory B cells (P = 0.002), central memory CD4+ T cells (P = 0.031) and CD4+ Th1 cells (P = 0.005) in LTS. We also separately analyzed a subset of patients who were methylation class-defined GBM, contributing 70.8% of the entire cohort, and obtained similar results relative to prior analyses. Finally, we demonstrated that LTS and STS could be distinguished using a subset of molecular features. Taken together, the present study delineated unique molecular attributes of LTS GBM.

We report the experimental measurement of millijoule terahertz (THz) radiation emitted in the backward direction from laser wakefields driven by a femtosecond laser pulse of few joules interacting with a gas target. By utilizing frequency-resolved energy measurement, it is found that the THz spectrum exhibits two peaks located at about 4.5 and 9.0 THz, respectively. In particular, the high frequency component emerges when the drive laser energy exceeds 1.26 J, at which electron acceleration in the forward direction is detected simultaneously. Theoretical analysis and particle-in-cell simulations indicate that the THz radiation is generated via mode conversion from the laser wakefields excited in plasma with an up-ramp profile, where radiations both at the local electron plasma frequency and its harmonics are produced. Such intense THz sources may find many applications in ultrafast science, e.g., manipulating the transient states of matter.

Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common cancer worldwide. Neural invasion (NI) is considered as the symbiotic interaction between nerves and cancers, which strongly affects the prognosis of GC patients. Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) play a key role in intercellular communication. However, whether sEVs mediate GC-NI remains unexplored. In this study, sEVs release inhibitor reduces the NI potential of GC cells. Muscarinic receptor M3 on GC-derived sEVs regulates their absorption by neuronal cells. The enrichment of sEV-circVAPA in NI-positive patients' serum is validated by serum high throughput sEV-circRNA sequencing and clinical samples. sEV-circVAPA promotes GC-NI in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, sEV-circVAPA decreases SLIT2 transcription by miR-548p/TGIF2 and inhibits SLIT2 translation via binding to eIF4G1, thereby downregulates SLIT2 expression in neuronal cells and finally induces GC-NI. Together, this work identifies the preferential absorption mechanism of GC-derived sEVs by neuronal cells and demonstrates a previously undefined role of GC-derived sEV-circRNA in GC-NI, which provides new insight into sEV-circRNA based diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for NI-positive GC patients.

Cu-SSZ-39 zeolite with 8-membered rings is regarded as a very promising catalyst in the NH3-SCR reaction, but its hydrothermal stability still remains to be improved. One of the solutions to promote hydrothermal stability is the insertion of rare earth elements in the product. Nevertheless, normal ion exchange of rare earth elements limits their contents in the zeolite product due to their large hydrated ionic radius and alkaline environment under hydrothermal conditions. Herein, we for the first time present a new method for the one-pot synthesis of Ce-SSZ-39 zeolite under solvent-free conditions. The key to success is the use of Ce-FAU zeolite as a precursor. The obtained product shows good crystallinity, sheet-like morphology, large BET surface area, and 4-coordinated Al species. Detailed investigations illustrate that Ce species in the Cu/Ce-SSZ-39 zeolite micropore can prevent the dealumination and thus formation of CuAlOx species during hydrothermal aging at 850 °C for 16 h, giving the excellent hydrothermal stability and thus showing the excellent catalytic performance in the NH3-SCR reaction. One-pot synthesis of Ce-SSZ-39 zeolite with excellent catalytic performance might open a new door for developing very efficient selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalysts in near future.

Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) have been considered the most promising separators for all-solid-state lithium metal batteries (ASSLMBs) due to their ease of processing and low cost. However, the practical applications of SPEs in ASSLMBs are limited by their low ionic conductivities and mechanical strength. Herein, we developed a three-dimensional (3D) interconnected MXene (Ti3C2Tx) network and Li6.4La3Zr1.4Ta0.6O12 (LLZTO) particles synergistically reinforced polyethylene oxide (PEO)-based SPE, where the association of Li+ with ether-oxygen in PEO could be significantly weakened through the Lewis acid-base interactions between the electron-absorbing group (Ti-F, -O-) of Ti3C2Tx and Li+. Besides, the TFSI- in lithium salts could be immobilized by hydrogen bonds from the Ti-OH of Ti3C2Tx. The 3D interconnected Ti3C2Tx network not only alleviated the agglomeration of inorganic fillers (LLZTO), but also improved the mechanical strength of composite solid electrolyte (CSE). Consequently, the assembled Li||CSE||Li symmetric battery showed excellent cycling stability at 35 ℃ (stable cycling over 3000 h at 0.1 mA cm-2, 0.1 mAh cm-2) and -2 ℃ (stable cycling over 2500 h at 0.05 mA cm-2, 0.05 mAh cm-2). Impressively, the LiFePO4||CSE||Li battery showed a high discharge capacity of 145.3 mAh/g at 0.3 C after 300 cycles at 35 ℃. This rational structural design provided a new strategy for the preparation of high-performance solid-state electrolytes for lithium metal batteries.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVES: Although studies have indicated that physical activity (PA) is related to cardiovascular disease, the specific association between PA and incident cerebrovascular disease (CBVD) remains uncertain. The current study aimed to investigate the associations between PA levels and the CBVD incidence or all-cause mortality. DESIGN: Prospective cohort study. SETTINGS AND PARTICIPANTS: Older participants (aged >60 years) from the UK Biobank. METHODS: The baseline PA was classified as total, light, moderate, and vigorous PA based on the metabolic equivalent-minutes per week (MET-min/wk) and considered as exposures, whereas CBVD incidence and all-cause mortality were considered as the outcomes. Cox proportional hazards were used to calculate the hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% CIs for the influence of the association between PA and CBVD incidence and all-cause mortality. RESULTS: A total of 146,742 participants aged 60 years and older were included. During a median follow-up period of 13.5 years (interquartile range of 12.8-14.2), 9338 older individuals developed CBVD and 3033 death were recorded (including 767 CBVD-related deaths). High volumes of PA were consistently associated with lower risks of CBVD and all-cause mortality. The lowest risk of CBVD incidence was observed at 2001-2500 MET-min/wk of total PA (HR 0.61, 95% CI 0.53-0.70), and the lowest risk of all-cause mortality was observed at 2501-5000 MET-min/wk (HR 0.52, 95% CI 0.43-0.63) in older adults. Total PA at 2001-2500 MET-min/wk significantly reduced the CBVD incidence in older women (HR 0.57, 95% CI 0.46-0.71), which was more pronounced than that in older men (HR for 2001-2500 MET-min/wk: 0.64, 95% CI 0.50-0.77). CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS: Total PA at 2001-2500 MET-min/wk significantly reduced the risk of incident CBVD and all-cause mortality in adults aged >60 years, although the extents of risk reduction vary in men and women.

It has been established that gut dysbiosis contributed to the pathogenesis of digestive disorders. We aimed to explore the causal relationships between intestinal microbiota, circulating inflammatory cytokines and chronic pancreatitis (CP). Summary statistics of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of intestinal microbiome was retrieved from the MiBioGen study and the GWAS data of 91 circulating inflammatory cytokines and CP were obtained from the GWAS catalog. The 2-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was performed between gut microbiota, circulating inflammatory cytokines and CP, in which the inverse variance weighted (IVW) method was regarded as the primary analysis approach. To prove the reliability of the causal estimations, multiple sensitivity analyses were utilized. IVW results revealed that genetically predicted 2 genera, including Sellimonas and Eubacteriumventriosumgroup, and plasm C-C motif chemokine 23 (CCL23) level were positively associated with CP risk, while genus Escherichia Shigella, Eubacteriumruminantiumgroup and Prevotella9, and plasma Caspase 8, Adenosine Deaminase (ADA), and SIR2-like protein 2 (SIRT2) level, demonstrated an ameliorative effect on CP. Leave-one-out analysis confirmed the robustness of the aforementioned causal effects and no significant horizontal pleiotropy or heterogeneity of the instrumental variables was detected. However, no association was found from the identified genera to the CP-related circulating inflammatory cytokines. Besides, the reverse MR analysis demonstrated no causal relationship from CP to the identified genera and circulating inflammatory cytokines. Taken together, our comprehensive analyses offer evidence in favor of the estimated causal connections from the 5 genus-level microbial taxa and 4 circulating inflammatory cytokines to CP risk, which may help to reveal the underlying pathogenesis of CP.
