[A new 9,19-cycloartane glycoside from Asplenium ruprechtii].

Chemical constituents of water extracts of Asplenium ruprechtii were investigated. Five compounds were isolated by silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 gel column chromatographies and preparative HPLC, and their structures were identified by various spectral analyses as aspleniumside G(1), trans-p-coumaric acid(2), trans-p-coumaric acid 4-O-ß-D-glucoside(3), cis-p-coumaric acid 4-O-ß-D-glucoside(4), and(E)-ferulic acid-4-O-ß-D-glucoside(5). Among them, compound 1 is a new 9,19-cycloartane glycoside.

Modified-Nutrition Index is a Significant Prognostic Factor for the Overall Survival of the Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Patients who Undergo Intensity-modulated Radiotherapy.

PURPOSE: To explore whether the modified-nutrition index (m-NI) is a prognostic factor for the overall survival (OS) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients who undergo intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT). METHODS: Clinical data were prospectively collected from NPC patients who underwent IMRT at our hospital between October 2008 and December 2014. The patient nutritional status before radiotherapy was evaluated using the m-NI, based on eight nutrition indicators including body mass index, arm muscle circumference, albumin, total lymphocyte count, red blood cell count, hemoglobin, serum pre-albumin, and transferrin. The independent prognostic value of m-NI for the OS was evaluated. RESULTS: A total of 323 patients (229 males, 94 females) were included in this study, and the follow-up rate was 99.7% (322/323). The 1-, 3-, and 5-yr OS rates between malnutrition and normal nutrition groups by using the m-NI were 93.0% vs. 96.9%, 76.4% vs. 82.8%, and 61.8% vs. 77.1%, respectively. A regression analysis showed that the m-NI was the significant prognostic value for the OS in NPC. CONCLUSIONS: The m-NI before radiotherapy is a significant prognostic factor for the OS in NPC patients. Further validation of our instrument is needed in other NPC patients.

[Comparison of transurethral detaching resection and plasmakinetic transurethral resection of the prostate for benign prostatic hyperplasia].

OBJECTIVE: To compare the clinical effects of transurethral detaching resection (TUDRP) and plasmakinetic transurethral resection of the prostate (PKRP) for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). METHODS: We collected by the single blind method the clinical data of 81 cases of BPH treated by PKRP (n=41) and TUDRP (n=40), and compared the two groups of patients in their age, preoperative prostate volume, weight of the resected gland, operation time, intraoperative bleeding, time of postoperative Foley's catheter retention, and pre- and post-operative IPSS. RESULTS: The post-operative IPSS was significantly higher in the PKRP than in the TUDRP group (9.95 +/- 1.54 vs. 8.70 +/- 1.13, t = 0.0029, P = 0.0059). CONCLUSION: TUDPR has a better clinical effect than PKRP in the treatment of BPH.

[Discussion on pharmacological mechanism of laosun kangfu tablets].

METHOD: Blood-activating and stasis-removing was tested by establishing cute cold pathogens induced blood stasis rat model and microcirculation disturbance state rat model by means of dripping adrenine on the mensentery. The resisting oxidation was tested by establishing the freely falling body damages models. The kidney-notifying was tested by Acetic acid hydrocortisone-caused kidney asthenia of mice. RESULT: All of the experimental results showed that there were Significant differences between the treatment groups and the control groups, such as promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, resisting the oxidation, the kidney-notifying actions. CONCLUSION: Effects of Huoxue Xiaozhong and Xingqi Zhitong of Laosun Kangfu tablet is because the action of improving microcirculation, antioxidation and regulating endocrine.
