RESUMEN

In this study, the one-pot four-component reaction of aromatic aldehyde, 2-thiobarbituric acid, ammonium acetate in the presence of a catalytic amount of [H-NMP]+[HSO4]- under ultrasonic irradiation in water is reported. In the present procedure, the pyrido[2,3-d:6,5-d']dipyrimidine derivatives were purely produced as valuable products. The process proved to be simple, environmentally friendly, efficient and high to excellent yielding. Moreover, some of the synthetic compounds were investigated and revealed important antimicrobial activity of prepared products.

RESUMEN

Phenolic antioxidants play important role in prevention of oxidation in different industrials. The research objective in the current study was synthesis and evaluate of antioxidant activity of star-shape phenolic antioxidants. The synthetic compounds were prepared in the presence of sulfonated reduced graphene oxide. The antioxidant activity of synthesized compounds was investigated by spectrophotometrically method according to the DPPH assay. Overall, these compounds are potentially important antioxidant and also to limit activity of reactive oxygen species.

RESUMEN

Efficient synthesis of a set of bisphenolic compounds, resulting from the incorporation of 2,4-dialkylphenols and aromatic or aliphatic aldehydes, allowed the discovery of new bisphenols with relative modest to good antioxidant activity. Bisphenolic compounds were prepared via easy and simple approach under ultrasound irradiation in water. Sulfonated graphene nanosheets were employed as a catalyst for the synthesis of bisphenolic compounds. These compounds were obtained in high to excellent yields (88-98%) and relatively short reaction times (4-20 min). Moreover, some of the synthetic compounds were investigated and revealed outstanding antioxidant activity, when examined by a 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH) decolorization assay system. The proposed method has a novel viewpoint in the preparation of potential antioxidant compounds.
