Novel C-3-(N-alkyl-aryl)-aminomethyl rifamycin SV derivatives exhibit activity against rifampicin-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis RpoBS522L strain and display a different binding mode at the RNAP ß-subunit site compared to rifampicin.
