RESUMEN

A new species, Achalinushunanensissp. nov., is described from middle and western Hunan Province based on the results of molecular systematics and morphological characters. It diverges from known congeners by a significant genetic divergence (p-distance 3.2%-16.9% based on CO1 mitochondrial gene), and it can be distinguished from all known congeners by the following morphological characters: (1) all dorsal scales strongly keeled, 23 rows throughout the body, the outmost one strongly keeled and enlarged; (2) tail relatively short, TaL/TL 0.221 ~ 0.225; (3) maxillary teeth 23; (4) the suture between internasals 2 × as long as that between prefrontals; (5) loreal one, subrectangular, LorH/LorL 0.62 ~ 0.70; (6) supralabials 6, the 4th and 5th touch the eye; (7) the two anterior temporals in contact with eye; (8) ventrals 163-165, subcaudals 69-72, not paired. This raises the number of known species of Achalinus to 24.

RESUMEN

In this study, a new species named Scutigerluozhaensissp. nov. is described from Luozha, southern Tibet, China. Genetic analysis based on two mitochondrial genes 16S rRNA and COI and the nuclear gene RAG1 revealed that the new species belongs to an independent phylogenetic clade close to S.gongshanensis and S.nyingchiensis and shares no RAG1 haplotype with other species. Morphological comparisons based on examined specimens and literatures indicated that it can be diagnosed from congeners by the following combination of characters: (1) body moderate, male body length 47.0-67.2 mm (n = 13), female body length 49.8-66.2 mm (n = 8); (2) maxillary teeth and budding absent; (3) numerous tiny dense nuptial spines present on dorsal surface of fingers I, II and inner surface of finger III of males in breeding condition with similar size; (4) spine patches on belly of males in breeding condition absent; (5) spines on inner surface of forearm and upper arm of males in breeding condition absent; (6) small patches of black spines present near armpit of males in breeding condition absent; (7) adult males without vocal sac; (8) some large warts and tubercles on dorsum gathered into short skin ridges with several spines present on top; (9) space between upper eyelids wider than upper eyelids; (10) spots or irregular cross bands on limbs absent; (11) webbing between toes rudimentary; (12) coloration of dorsal body olive brown to bronze.

RESUMEN

Background: Tracheal stenosis is able to lead to airway obstruction. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety profile of Montgomery T-tube implantation in patients with tracheal stenosis. Methods: Fifty-two patients with tracheal stenosis diagnosed between 2016 and 2019 were included in this retrospective cohort study. The patients were divided into observation group (n = 25 cases) and control group (n = 27). The therapeutic effect, arterial blood gas analysis, arterial oxygen partial pressure (PaO2), arterial carbon dioxide partial pressure (PaCO2), shortness of breath score, airway diameter change, dyspnea score, quality of life, and safety were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: The therapeutic effect of the observation group gained better results than that of the control group (84.00% vs. 62.96%). One week after operation, the pH value, SaO2, PaCO2, shortness of breath score, airway diameter change, dyspnea score, life quality, and incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group exerted better results as compared to the control group. Conclusion: The implantation of Montgomery T-tube has effective function in terms of improving the symptoms of dyspnea and the life quality of patients with safety profile in patients harboring tracheal stenosis.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the volatile oils chemical constituents of roots of Actinidia deliciosa. METHODS: The volatile oils fraction of roots of Actinidia deliciosa. were extracted by water vapor distilling, and then the constituents were separated and identified, by GC-MS. RESULTS: 16 compounds were identified, accounting for 89.37% of all quantity. CONCLUSION: The principal volatile oils chemical constituents are Phenol, 2,4-bis(1,1-dimethylethl)-; 2-Propenoic acid, 3-(4-methox yphenyl)-, ethyl ester; 9-Octadecenoic acid (Z)-, methyl ester; Cyclotetrasiloxane, octamethyl-.

RESUMEN

A new species of the genus Amolops Cope, 1865 is described from Nyingchi, southeastern Tibet, China, based on morphological and molecular data. The new species, Amolops nyingchiensis sp. nov. is assigned to the Amolops monticola group based on its skin smooth, dorsolateral fold distinct, lateral side of head black, upper lip stripe white extending to the shoulder. Amolops nyingchiensis sp. nov. is distinguished from all other species of Amolops by the following combination of characters: (1) medium body size, SVL 48.5-58.3 mm in males, and 57.6-70.7 mm in females; (2) tympanum distinct, slightly larger than one third of the eye diameter; (3) a small tooth-like projection on anteromedial edge of mandible; (4) the absence of white spine on dorsal surface of body; (5) the presence of circummarginal groove on all fingers; (6) the presence of vomerine teeth; (7) background coloration of dorsal surface brown, lateral body gray with yellow; (8) the presence of transverse bands on the dorsal limbs; (9) the presence of nuptial pad on the first finger in males; (10) the absence of vocal sac in males. Taxonomic status of the populations that were previously identified to A. monticola from Tibet is also discussed.
