RESUMEN

We describe small heterojunction polymer dots (Pdots) with deep-red light catalyzed H2 generation for diabetic skin wound healing. The Pdots with donor/acceptor heterojunctions showed remarkably enhanced photocatalytic activity as compared to the donor or acceptor nanoparticles alone. We encapsulate the Pdots and ascorbic acid into liposomes to form Lipo-Pdots nanoreactors, which selectively scavenge ⋅OH radicals in live cells and tissues under 650 nm light illumination. The antioxidant capacity of the heterojunction Pdots is ~10 times higher than that of the single-component Pdots described previously. Under a total light dose of 360 J/cm2, the Lipo-Pdots nanoreactors effectively scavenged ⋅OH radicals and suppressed the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines in skin tissues, thereby accelerating the healing of skin wounds in diabetic mice. This study provides a feasible solution for safe and effective treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.

To overcome the identification challenge of low-abundance lysine acetylation (Kac), a novel approach based on a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was developed to improve the extraction capacity of Kac peptides in real samples. Green deep eutectic solvents (DESs) were introduced and used as one of the synergistic functional monomers with zinc acrylate (ZnA). Glycine-glycine-alanine-lysine(ac)-arginine (GGAKacR) was chosen as a template and N,N'-methylenbisacrylamide (MBAA) was used as a cross-linker. The obtained GGAKacR-MIP had excellent selectivity for the template with an imprinting factor (IF) of up to 21.4. The histone digest addition experiment demonstrated that GGAKacR-MIP could successfully extract GGAKacR from a complex sample. Finally, the application to the extraction of Kac peptides from mouse liver protein digestion was studied in detail. The number of Kac peptides and Kac proteins identified was 130 and 110, which were 3.71-fold and 3.93-fold higher than those of the untreated sample. In addition, the number of peptides and proteins identified after treatment increased from 5535 and 1092 to 17 149 and 4037 (3.10-fold and 3.70-fold, respectively). The results showed that the obtained MIP may provide an effective technical tool for the identification of Kac-modification and peptide fractionation, as well as a potential approach for simultaneously identifying post-translational-modified proteomic and proteomic information.

Chemical recycling is one of the most promising technologies that could contribute to circular economy targets by providing solutions to plastic waste; however, it is still at an early stage of development. In this work, we describe the first light-driven, acid-catalyzed protocol for chemical recycling of polystyrene waste to valuable chemicals under 1 bar of O2. Requiring no photosensitizers and only mild reaction conditions, the protocol is operationally simple and has also been demonstrated in a flow system. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) investigations and density functional theory (DFT) calculations indicate that singlet oxygen is involved as the reactive oxygen species in this degradation process, which abstracts a hydrogen atom from a tertiary C-H bond, leading to hydroperoxidation and subsequent C-C bond cracking events via a radical process. Notably, our study indicates that an adduct of polystyrene and an acid catalyst might be formed in situ, which could act as a photosensitizer to initiate the formation of singlet oxygen. In addition, the oxidized polystyrene polymer may play a role in the production of singlet oxygen under light.

For the first time a hybrid molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) doped with 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate (γ-MPS)-modified mesoporous molecular sieve SBA-15 for target peptide recognition has been developed. Zinc acrylate and methacrylic acid were used as binary functional monomers, and ethylene dimethacrylate was used as cross-linking agent to prepare an imprinted monolith against Val-Tyr-Ala-Leu-Lys(glutarylation) (VYALKglu). The morphology of the polymers was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, and 1H NMR. The SBA-15-MPS MIP showed high recovery of 87.1% and the IF of 12.9 for the enrichment of the template peptide. When the template peptide concentration ranged from 5 to 90 µg mL-1, the correlation coefficients (R2) for the calibration function obtained was better 0.999. The limit of detection (LOD, 0.30 µg mL-1) and limit of quantification (LOQ, 1.0 µg mL-1) were achieved for signal-to-noise ratios of 3:1 and 10:1, respectively. When other kinds of synthetic peptides were used as analogs, the selectivity of the SBA-15-MPS MIP was much better than the SBA-15-MPS NIP (without template peptides) with relative selectivity coefficients of 52.8-265. In contrast, little quinolones and biogenic amines are adsorbed with the SBA-15-MPS MIP. The SBA-15-MPS MIP could enrich VYALKglu from spiked histone digestion with the average recovery of 87.8% and the relative standard deviation (RSD) of 0.99%. As a conclusion, doping of SBA-15 is an effective approach to the improvement of performance of molecularly imprinted monolith.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to determine the potential role of TLR-4 in the osteoimmunological imbalance of periodontitis. BACKGROUND: Although current evidence supports that TLR-4 plays an important role in the inflammatory response of periodontal tissues triggered by microorganisms, little information is available regarding the function of TLR-4 in the osteoimmune regulation of homeostasis in periodontitis. METHODS: Human gingival epithelial cells (HGEC) were isolated from the gingival tissues of 3 healthy volunteers and the expression of osteoclastogenic cytokines was evaluated by ELISA and real time RT-PCR. In addition, 30 C57BL/6 mice were used and randomly divided into three groups: control group, periodontitis group (CP) and periodontitis+TAK-242 (a specific inhibitor of TLR-4) group (TAK-242) and the expression of osteoclastogenic cytokines and the osteoclast density in the periodontal tissue were evaluated by immunohistochemical staining and tartrate resistant acid phosphatase staining. Moreover, micro-computed tomography (Micro-CT) was used to assess bone resorption. RESULTS: The in vitro results showed that TAK-242 blocked the overproduction of IL-1, IL-6, TNF-α and RANKL in HGEC treated with LPS. The in vivo results revealed that TAK-242 also effectively decreased these osteoclastogenic cytokines in periodontal tissue of mice with periodontitis. More importantly, Micro-CT analysis showed a significant reduction of the alveolar bone loss in the TAK-242 group compared with the CP group. Furthermore, the TRAP staining showed a significant lower density of osteoclasts in the alveolar bone area of the TAK-242 group. CONCLUSION: TLR-4 inhibition decreased the differentiation of osteoclast through the inhibition of the overproduction of osteoclastogenic cytokines and the prevention of the alveolar bone absorption in mouse periodontitis models. Therefore, the use of TAK-242 might contribute to the recovery of the osteoimmunological homeostasis and might provide a potential strategy to treat periodontal diseases.

Cellulose, as a natural polymer with an abundant source, has been widely used in many fields including the electric field responsive medium that we are interested in. In this work, cellulose micron particles were applied as an electrorheological (ER) material. Because of the low ER effect of the raw cellulose, a composite particle of cellulose and Laponite was prepared via a dissolution-regeneration process. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to observe the morphologies and structures of the composite particles, which were different from pristine cellulose and Laponite, respectively. The ER performances of raw cellulose and the prepared composite were measured by an Anton Paar rotational rheometer. It was found that the ER properties of the composite were more superior to those of raw cellulose due to the flake-like shapes of the composite particles with rough surface. Moreover, the sedimentation stability of composite improves drastically, which means better suspension stability.

BACKGROUND: Non-vascularized bone grafting is a promising head-preserving technique for younger patients diagnosed as non-traumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head (NONFH). Among the various types of bone grafting techniques, "light-bulb" procedure grafting with synthetic bone substitute is an attractive option. We aimed to assess the effectiveness of using beta-tricalcium phosphate (ß-TCP) for the treatment of pre-collapse and early post-collapse lesions NONFH. METHODS: From April 2010 to June 2014, 33 patients (47 hips) with NONFH were treated using the afore-mentioned technique. The clinical and radiological outcomes were recorded and compared statistically between pre- and post-operation. Harris hip score (HHS) was used to evaluate the clinical results, and Association Research Circulation Osseous (ARCO) stage was applied to assess the radiological outcomes. RESULTS: The 5-years survival rate of using ß-TCP grafting was accounting for 25.5%. HHS was decreased from 78.47 to 52.87 points, and a very significant worsening of radiological results were revealed (P <  0.05). Two hips collapsed more than 2 mm were awaiting for THA, and 33 of the 47 hips had converted to THAs in an average time to failure of 24.24 months postoperatively. Meanwhile, only 4 hips survived without collapse, and 8 hips collapsed less than 2 mm. After surgery, the time onset of head collapse was 3.65 months on average, and the first conversion to THA was performed at 5 months postoperative. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that "light-bulb" procedure grafting with ß-TCP sticks presented with a high failure rate in the early postoperative period. It is not proposed for the treatment of pre-collapse and early post-collapse lesions NONFH.

One of the main challenges in large-scale applications of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) is the significant amount of template needed in polymer preparation. A new strategy based on room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) was suggested to solve this problem by reducing the amount of template in the polymerization recipe. The MIP was synthesized with a mixture of dimethyl sulfoxide and RTIL (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate) as porogen, in which chlorogenic acid (CGA) was used as template, 4-vinylpyridine (4-VP) as functional monomer, and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EDMA) as cross-linker. The influence of polymerization variables, including CGA concentrations, and the ratio of 4-VP to EDMA on imprinting effect were investigated comprehensively. Moreover, the properties involving the column permeability, the number of binding sites, and the polymer morphology of the CGA-MIP monoliths were studied thoroughly. The MIP monolith had an excellent column permeability (1.53 × 10-13 m2) and allowed an ultra-fast on-line SPE, which dramatically shortens the separation time (< 10 min) and improves the separation efficiency. At high flow velocity (5.0 mL min-1), 50 µL of the extract from Eucommia ulmoides leaves can be loaded directly on the CGA-MIP monoliths and CGA with high purity can be obtained with a recovery of 89.01 ± 0.05%. As a conclusion, the resulting RTIL-induced approach of preparing MIP may be an effective tool in fabricating MIP in a low-cost way. Graphical abstract ᅟ.

The facile fabrication of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs)-doping molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) nanocomposite-based binary green porogen system, room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), and deep eutectic solvents (DESs) was developed for drug delivery system. With fenbufen (FB) as template molecule, 4-vinylpyridine (4-VP) was used as functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross-linking monomer, and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazoliumtetrafluoroborate and choline chloride/ethylene glycol as binary green solvent, in the presence of SWCNTs. The imprinting effect of the SWCNT-MIP composites was optimized by regulation of the amount of SWCNTs, ratio of RTILs and DES, and the composition of DES. Blue shifts of UV bands strongly suggested that interaction between 4-VP and FB can be enhanced due to SWCNT doping in the process of self-assembly. The reinforced imprinted effect of CNT-doping MIP can provide superior controlled release characteristics. Compared with the control MIP prepared without SWCNTs, the imprinting factor of the SWCNT-MIP composites exhibited a twofold increase. In the analysis for the FB release kinetics from all samples, the SWCNT-reinforced MIP produced the lowest value of drug diffusivity. The relative bioavailability of the SWCNT-MIP composites (F %) displayed the highest value of 143.3% compared with the commercial FB tablet, whereas the control MIP and SWCNT-non-MIP composites was only 48.3% and 44.4%, respectively. The results indicated that the SWCNT-MIP nanocomposites developed here have potentials as the controlled-release device.

The combination of molecular crowding and virtual imprinting was employed to develop a cost-effective method to prepare molecularly imprinted polymers. By using linear polymer polystyrene as a macromolecular crowding agent, an imprinted polymer recognizable to punicalagin had been successfully synthesized with punicalin as the dummy template. The resulting punicalin-imprinted polymer presented a remarkable selectivity to punicalagin with an imprinting factor of 3.17 even at extremely low consumption of the template (template/monomer ratio of 1:782). In contrast, the imprinted polymer synthesized without crowding agent, did not show any imprinting effect at so low template amount. The imprinted polymers made by combination of molecular crowding and virtual imprinting can be utilized for the fast separation of punicalagin from pomegranate husk extract after optimizing the protocol of solid-phase extraction with the recovery of 85.3 ± 1.2%.

RESUMEN

This review focused on the developments in the field of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) for CEC since 2009. New preparation techniques of MIP-based CEC, such as, portable microchip with macroporous monolithic imprinted microchannel, and low cross-linking MIPs based on liquid crystalline monomers, were discussed. Using selected cases rather than a comprehensive review of the entire field, our goal is to highlight the studies of the interest with an emphasis on recent work, and offers suggestions for future development in the field of imprinted materials for CEC separation.

Molecular crowding is a new approach to stabilizing binding sites and improving molecular recognition. In this work, the concept was applied to the preparation of imprinted monolithic columns for CEC. The imprinted monolithic column was synthesized using a mixture of d-zopiclone (d-ZOP)(template), methacrylic acid, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) (molecular crowding agent). The resulting PMMA-based imprinted capillary was able to separate ZOP enantiomers in CEC mode. The resolution of enantiomer separation achieved on the d-ZOP-imprinted monolithic column was up to 2.09. Some polymerization factors, such as template-monomer molar ratio, functional monomer-cross-linker molar ratio and the composition of the porogen, on the imprinting effect of resulting molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) monolithic column were systematically investigated. Chromatographic parameters, including pH values, the content of acetonitrile and the salt concentration on chiral separation were also studied. The results indicated the addition of PMMA resulted in MIPs with superior retention properties and excellent selectivity for d-ZOP, as compared to the MIPs prepared without addition of the crowding-inducing agent. The results revealed that molecular crowding is an effective method for the preparation of a highly efficient MIP stationary phase for chiral separation in CEC.

A macromolecular crowding-assisted liquid-crystalline molecularly imprinted monolith (LC-MIM) was prepared successfully for the first time. The imprinted stationary phase was synthesized with polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or polystyrene (PS) as the crowding agent, 4-cyanophenyl dicyclohexyl propylene (CPCE) as the liquid-crystal monomer, and hydroquinidine as the pseudo-template for the chiral separation of cinchona alkaloids in HPLC. A low level of cross-linker (26%) has been found to be sufficient to achieve molecular recognition on the crowding-assisted LC-MIM due to the physical cross-linking of mesogenic groups in place of chemical cross-linking, and baseline separation of quinidine and quinine could be achieved with good resolution (R(s) = 2.96), selectivity factor (α = 2.16), and column efficiency (N = 2650 plates/m). In contrast, the LC-MIM prepared without crowding agents displayed the smallest diastereoselectivity (α = 1.90), while the crowding-assisted MIM with high level of cross-linker (80%) obtained the greatest selectivity factor (α = 7.65), but the lowest column efficiency (N = 177 plates/m).

Three fragmental templates, including 2,4-diamino-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazine (DMT), cyromazine (CYR), and trimethoprim (TME), were used to prepare the fragment molecularly imprinted polymers (FMIPs), respectively, in polar ternary porogen which was composed of ionic liquid ([BMIM]BF4), methanol, and water. The morphology, specific surface areas, and selectivity of the obtained FMIPs for fragmental analogues were systematically characterized. The experimental results showed that the FMIPs possessed the best specific recognition ability to the relative template and the greatest imprinting factor (IF) was 5.25, 6.69, and 7.11 of DMT on DMT-MIPs, CYR on CYR-MIPs, and TME on TME-MIPs, respectively. In addition, DMT-MIPs also showed excellent recognition capability for fragmental analogues including CYR, melamine (MEL), triamterene (TAT), and TME, and the IFs were 2.08, 3.89, 2.18, and 2.60, respectively. The effects of pH and temperature on the retention of the fragmental and structural analogues were studied in detail. Van't Hoff analysis indicated that the retention and selectivity on FMIPs were an entropy-driven process, i.e., steric interaction. The resulting DMT-MIPs were used as a solid-phase extraction material to enrich CYR, MEL, TAT, and TME in different bio-matrix samples for high-performance liquid chromatography analysis. The developed method had acceptable recoveries (86.8-98.6%, n = 3) and precision (2.7-4.6%) at three spiked levels (0.05-0.5 µg g(-1)).

A thermoresponsive imprinted monolith with the ability of molecular recognition for ketoprofen was prepared for the first time. The smart monolith was synthesized in a stainless steel column using acrylamide (AAm) and 2-acrylamide-2-methyl propanesulfonic acid (AMPS) as functional monomers, which can form interpolymer complexation to restrict access of the analyte to the imprinted networks at low temperatures. To avoid a high back pressure of the column derived from neat dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a porogenic solvent that is needed to solve polar AMPS, an ionic liquid, [BMIM]BF4, was introduced into the pre-polymerization mixture. The molecular recognition ability towards ketoprofen of the resulting thermoresponsive molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) monolith displayed significant dependence on temperature compared with a non-imprinted column (NIP), and the greatest imprinting factor was achieved at the transition temperature of 35 °C (above 10). Furthermore, the number of binding sites of the smart MIP monolith at 35 °C was about 76 times as large as that at 25 °C. In addition, Freundlich analyses indicated that the thermoresponsive MIP monolith had homogeneous affinity sites at both 25 and 35 °C with heterogeneity index 0.9251 and 0.9851, respectively.

In this study, graphene oxide (GO) was chemically modified utilizing concentrated nitric acid to produce a nitrated graphene oxide derivative (NGO) with enhanced oxidation level, improved dispersibility, and increased antibacterial activity. A double-layer composite hydrogel material (BC/PVA/NGO) with a core-shell structure was fabricated by utilizing bacterial cellulose (BC) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) binary composite hydrogel scaffold as the inner network template, and hydrophilic polymer (PVA) loaded with antibacterial material (NGO) as the outer network. The fabrication process involved physical crosslinking based on repeated freezing and thawing. The resulting BC/PVA/NGO hydrogel exhibited a porous structure, favorable mechanical properties, antibacterial efficacy, and biocompatibility. Subsequently, the performance of BC/PVA/NGO hydrogel in promoting wound healing was evaluated using a mouse skin injury model. The findings demonstrated that the BC/PVA/NGO hydrogel treatment group facilitated improved wound healing in the mouse skin injury model compared to the control group and the BC/PVA group. This enhanced wound healing capability was attributed primarily to the excellent antibacterial and tissue repair properties of the BC/PVA/NGO hydrogel.

The development of efficacious bone substitute biomaterials remains a major challenge for research and clinical surgical. Herein, we constructed triple helix recombinant collagen (THRC) -based hydrogels loading bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) to stimulate bone regeneration in cranial defects. A series of in situ forming hydrogels, denoted as THRC-oxidized carboxymethylcellulose (OCMC)-N-succinyl-chitosan (NSC) hydrogels, was synthesized via a Schiff base reaction involving OCMC, THRC and NSC. The hydrogels underwent rapid formation under physiological pH and temperature conditions. The composite hydrogel exhibits a network structure characterized by uniform pores, the dimensions of which can be tuned by varying THRC concentrations. The THRC-OCMC-NSC and THRC-OCMC-NSC-BMP2 hydrogels display heightened mechanical strength, substantial biodegradability, and lower swelling properties. The THRC-OCMC-NSC hydrogels show exceptional biocompatibility and bioactivity, accelerating cell proliferation, adhesion, and differentiation. Magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography and histological analysis of rat cranial defects models revealed that the THRC-OCMC-NSC-BMP2 hydrogels substantially promote new bone formation and expedite bone regeneration. The novel THRC-OCMC-NSC-BMP2 hydrogels emerge as promising candidates for bone substitutes, demonstrating substantial potential in bone repair and regeneration applications.

PURPOSE: To study the stability of physicochemical properties and sterilizing effect about two commercially available hypochlorous acid (HClO) products under simulated clinical conditions, and to evaluate the compatibility of HClO on soft and hard tissues and cells in oral cavity. METHODS: Samples of HClO solution with different production processes were prepared, to detect the changes of physicochemical indexes of each sample over time under simulated clinical conditions (shielded from light at 20-25 ℃, open the cover for 5 minutes every day), including free available chlorine, oxidation-reduction potential and pH. Through suspension quantitative germicidal test, the antibiosis-concentration curve of HClO solution was made, so as to calibrate the change of antibacterial ability of disinfectant with the decrease of available chlorine content during storage. Pulp, tongue and dentine were immersed in PBS, 100 ppm HClO, 200 ppm HClO and 3% NaClO. The influence on soft and hard tissues was evaluated by weighing method and microhardness test. The toxic effects of HClO, NaClO and their 10-fold diluent on human gingival fibroblasts were determined by CCK-8 cytotoxicity assay. GraphPad PRIS 8.0 software was used to analyze the data. RESULTS: Under simulated conditions, the free available chlorine (FAC) of HClO solution decayed with time, and the attenuation degree was less than 20 ppm within 1 month. The bactericidal effect of each HClO sample was still higher than 5log after concentration decay. There was no obvious dissolution and destruction to soft and hard tissues for HClO(P>0.05). The cell viability of HClO to human gingival fibroblast cells (HGFC) was greater than 80%, which was much higher than 3% NaClO (P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The bactericidal effect and stability of HClO solution can meet clinical needs, which has low cytotoxicity and good histocompatibility. It is expected to become a safe and efficient disinfection product in the field of living pulp preservation and dental pulp regeneration.

Importance: Electronic cigarettes (ECs) are often used by smokers as an aid to stopping smoking, but evidence is limited regarding their efficacy compared with nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), and no evidence is available on how their efficacy compares with that of varenicline. Objective: To evaluate whether ECs are superior to NRT and noninferior to varenicline in helping smokers quit. Design, Setting, and Participants: This was a randomized clinical trial conducted at 7 sites in China and including participants who were smoking at least 10 cigarettes per day and motivated to quit, not using stop-smoking medications or EC, and willing to use any of the study products. Participants were first recruited in May 2021, and data analysis was conducted in December 2022. Interventions: A cartridge-based EC (30 mg/mL nicotine salt for 2 weeks and 50 mg/mL after that), varenicline (0.5 mg, once a day for 3 days; 0.5 mg, twice a day for 4 days; and 1 mg, twice a day, after that), and 2 mg (for smokers of ≤20 cigarettes per day) or 4 mg (>20 cigarettes per day) nicotine chewing gum, all provided for 12 weeks and accompanied by minimal behavioral support (an invitation to join a self-help internet forum). Main Outcomes and Measures: The primary outcome was sustained abstinence from smoking at 6 months as validated by an expired-air carbon monoxide reading (<8 parts per million). Participants lost to follow-up were included as nonabstainers. Results: Of 1068 participants, 357 (33.5%) were female, and the mean (SD) age was 33.9 (3.1) years. A total of 409 (38.3%), 409 (38.3%), and 250 (23.4%) participants were randomized to the EC, varenicline, and NRT arms, respectively. The 6-month biochemically validated abstinence rates were 15.7% (n = 64), 14.2% (n = 58), and 8.8% (n = 22) in the EC, varenicline, and NRT study arms, respectively. The quit rate in the EC arm was noninferior to the varenicline arm (absolute risk reduction, 1.47%; 95% CI, -1.41% to 4.34%) and higher than in the NRT arm (odds ratio, 1.92; 95% CI, 1.15-3.21). Treatment adherence was similar in all study arms during the initial 3 months, but 257 participants (62.8%) in the EC arm were still using ECs at 6 months, with no further use in the 2 other study arms. The most common adverse reactions were throat irritation (32 [7.8%]) and mouth irritation (28 [6.9%]) in the EC arm, nausea (36 [8.8%]) in the varenicline arm, and throat irritation (20 [8.0%]) and mouth irritation (22 [8.8%]) in the NRT arm. No serious adverse events were recorded. Conclusions and Relevance: The results of this randomized clinical trial found that when all treatments were provided with minimal behavior support, the efficacy of EC was noninferior to varenicline and superior to nicotine chewing gum. RESUMEN

Molecularly imprinted monoliths integrate the high permeability of monolithic materials and the high selectivity and affinity of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP). Thus, in recent years, development of this novel MIP format in HPLC has expanded quickly, particularly use of organic materials. This review focuses on the principal aspects of good practice in polymerization, theoretical studies, and recent developments in molecularly imprinted monoliths. Some thoughts on perspectives of MIP monoliths are also expressed.
