RESUMEN

Hybridization drives rapid speciation by shaping novel genotypic and phenotypic profiles. Genomic incompatibility and transcriptome shock have been observed in hybrids, although this is rarer in animals than in plants. Using the newly sequenced genomes of the blunt snout bream (Megalobrama amblycephala [BSB]) and the topmouth culter (Culter alburnus [TC]), we focused on the sequence variation and gene expression changes in the reciprocal intergeneric hybrid lineages (F1-F3) of BSB × TC. A genome-wide transcriptional analysis identified 145-974 expressed recombinant genes in the successive generations of hybrid fish, suggesting the rapid emergence of allelic variation following hybridization. Some gradual changes of gene expression with additive and dominance effects and various cis and trans regulations were observed from F1 to F3 in the two hybrid lineages. These asymmetric patterns of gene expression represent the alternative strategies for counteracting deleterious effects of the subgenomes and improving adaptability of novel hybrids. Furthermore, we identified positive selection and additive expression patterns in transforming growth factor, beta 1b (tgfb1b), which may account for the morphological variations of the pharyngeal jaw in the two hybrid lineages. Our current findings provide insights into the evolution of vertebrate genomes immediately following hybridization.

RESUMEN

AIMS: To improve the comprehensive performances of a one-part room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber(RTV-1 SiR), Nano-SiO2 particles are employed as the reinforcing agent. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The SiO2/RTV-1 SiR composite is prepared using PDMS, ND42, D-60 and HMDS-modified SiO2 particles by mixing method. And then, the mechanical and electrical properties, including shear strength, tensile strength, hardness Shore A and volume resistivity, are investigated using experimental method. RESULTS: The addition of nano-SiO2 particles can improve the properties of the SiO2/RTV-1 SiR composite in different degrees. And, the incorporation of 25~30 phr nano-SiO2 particles is found to be reasonable for silicone rubber composite with the best comprehensive performances. CONCLUSIONS: The significant improvement of mechanical properties and electrical insulation of SiO2 may be contributed to the addition of modified nano-SiO2 particles. Additionally, the excellent comprehensive performances of SiO2/RTV-1 SiR composite guarantee a potential applications as electrical-insulating adhesives.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the energy relieving effect of different thickness of mucosa beneath mandibular complete denture and try to analyze clinical question of prosthodontics using energy analysis methods. METHODS: A 3-DFE model of the mandibular complete denture and its supporting tissue were set up. Their elastic deformed energy and the percentage in the whole system were respectively calculated when mucosal thickness was different. RESULTS: The percentage of mucosal elastic deformed energy grew from 44.53% to 52.91% and 57.91% with its different thickness under static loads. CONCLUSIONS: The energy relieving effect of mucosa grows with its thickness and the approach of energy analysis is one of effective method on oral biomechanics questions.

RESUMEN

Methoxypoly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly-DL-lactide (PELA) microcapsules containing bovine hemoglobin (bHb) were prepared by a W/O/W double emulsion-solvent diffusion process. bHb solution was used as the internal aqueous phase, PELA/organic solvent as the oil phase, and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution as the external aqueous phase. This W/O/W double emulsion was added into a large volume of water (solidification solution) to allow organic solvent to diffuse into water. The optimum preparative condition for PELA microcapsules loaded with bovine hemoglobin was investigated. It was found that homogenization rate, type of organic solvent, and volume of the solidification solution influenced the activity of bovine hemoglobin encapsulated. When the homogenization rate was lower than 9000 rpm and ethyl acetate was used as the organic solvent, there was no significant influence on the activity of hemoglobin. High homogenization rate as 12 000 rpm decreased the P50 and Hill coefficient. Increasing the volume of solidification solution had an effect of improving the activity of microencapsulated hemoglobin. The composition of the PELA had the most important influence on the success of encapsulation. Microcapsules fabricated by PELA with MPEG2k block (molecular weight of MPEG block: 2000) achieved a high entrapment efficiency of 90%, better than PL A homopolymer and PELA with MPEG5k blocks. Hemoglobin microcapsules with native loading oxygen activity (P50 = 26.0 mmHg, Hill coefficient = 2.4), mean size of about 10 microm, and high entrapment efficiency (ca. 93%) were obtained at the optimum condition.
