RESUMEN

An efficient synthesis of 3-pyrrolylBODIPY dyes has been developed from a rational mixture of various aromatic aldehydes and pyrrole in a straightforward condensation reaction, followed by in situ successively oxidative nucleophilic substitution using a one-pot strategy. These resultant 3-pyrrolylBODIPYs without blocking substituents not only exhibit the finely tunable photophysical properties induced by the flexible meso-aryl substituents but also serve as a valuable synthetic framework for further selective functionalization. As a proof of such potential, one 3-pyrrolylBODIPY dye (581/603 nm) through the installation of the morpholine group is applicable for lysosome-targeting imaging. Furthermore, an ethene-bridged 3,3'-dipyrrolylBODIPY dimer was constructed, which displayed a near-infrared (NIR) emission extended to 1200 nm with a large fluorescence brightness (2840 M-1 cm-1). The corresponding dimer nanoparticles (NPs) afforded a high photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE) value of 72.5%, eventually resulting in favorable photocytotoxicity (IC50 = 9.4 µM) and efficient in vitro eradication of HeLa cells under 808 nm laser irradiation, highlighting their potential application for photothermal therapy in the NIR window.

RESUMEN

A metal-ligand crosslinked internal self-healing polyurethane is developed using low-cost and commercially available compounds. The mechanical, photoluminescent, and self-healing properties can be governed by incorporating multiple metal-ligand crosslinks with weak and strong coordination bonds and varying the metal ion. In-situ attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy reveals that the metal-ligand bond is cleaved during the damage process while metal ion is still coordinated with the ligand by stronger metal-pyridyl interaction. The multiple metal-ligand coordination facilitates the crosslinks to be fully reformed during the repairing process, leading to the superior self-healing property.

RESUMEN

Micro-/macroangiopathy, neuropathy and prolonged inflammation are common in diabetic wound, however, traditional wound dressing cannot treat these problems in the same time. Herein, we developed a multifunctional hydrogel with promoted angiogenesis, cell proliferation and anti-inflammation ability to treat diabetic wound. The hydrogel was composed of natural polymers, including gelatin and chitosan, which have excellent biocompatibility. Histatin-1 (His-1) was added into the hydrogel to improve the cell adhesion, proliferation and angiogenesis. Besides, polypyrrole based conductive nanoparticles (G-Ppy) were introduced in the hydrogel to enhance the electrical signal conduction between skin and promote the mechanical strength of the hydrogel. The polypyrrole nanoparticles were growth in the chain of methacryloyl grafted gelatin (Gel-MA), leading to a better biocompatibility and water dispersibility. In vivo wound healing experiment proved that the hydrogel accelerated the wound healing rate, down regulation the expression of pro-inflammation factor TNF-α and upregulation the expression of CD31 and α-SMA, indicating the prospects in the application of diabetic wound healing.

RESUMEN

Significant advances have been made in the development of self-healing synthetic polymer materials in recent years. This review article discusses the recent progress in preparation, characterization and properties of different kinds of intrinsic self-healing elastomers based on reversible covalent bonds and dynamic supramolecular chemistry. Healing conditions, mechanical property recovery and healing efficiency are the main discussion topics. Potential applications, challenges and future prospects in self-healing elastomer fields are also discussed in the last part of this review.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: In dentistry, the complete denture is a conventional treatment for edentulous patients. The computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) has been applied on the digital complete denture which is developed rapidly. Tooth selection and arrangement is one of the most important parts in digital complete denture. In this paper, we propose a new method of personalized teeth arrangement. METHODS: This paper presents a method of arranging teeth virtually for a complete denture. First, scan and extract the feature points of the 3D triangular mesh data of artificial teeth (PLY format), then establish a tooth selection system. Second, scan and mark the anatomic characteristics of the maxillary and mandibular cast surfaces, such as facial midline, the curve of the arches. With the enter information, the study calculates the common arrangement lines of artificial teeth. Third, select the preferred artificial teeth and automatically arrange them virtually in the correct position by using our own software. After that, design the gingival part of the dentures on the basic of the arranged teeth on the screen and then fabricated it by using Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) technology, Rapid Prototyping (RP) technology or 3D printer technology. Finally, select artificial teeth were embedded in wax rims. RESULTS: This system can choose artificial teeth reasonably and the teeth placement can meet the dentist's request to a certain extent, whereas all the operations are based on the medical principles. CONCLUSIONS: The study performed here involves computer sciences, medicine, and dentistry, a teeth selection system was proposed and virtual teeth arrangement was described. This study has the capacity of helping operators to select teeth, which improved the accuracy of tooth arrangement, and customized complete denture.
