RESUMEN

PURPOSE: To evaluate the effect of visual education based on digital intraoral scanning on postoperative anxiety and treatment confidence in patients with immediate dental implant. METHODS: A total of 266 patients who underwent immediate implantation in Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from January to October 2022 were randomly divided into 2 groups based on the ratio of 1:1, the control group adopted traditional nursing education method, and the experimental group carried out visual education based on digital intraoral scanning on the basis of traditional nursing education. The anxiety self-rating scale (SAS) was used to evaluate the anxiety level after surgery, the numerical score method (NRS) was used to evaluate the patient's confidence in treatment, and visual analogue score(VAS) was used to evaluate the patient's satisfaction with nursing work. SAS 9.4 software package was used for data analysis. RESULTS: After intervention, the SAS scores of the two groups were significantly lower than those before the intervention (P<0.01), and the SAS score of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.01). Pearson Chi-square test did not find significant difference between the two groups in the treatment confidence of immediate implantation after intervention(P>0.05), but the results of Mantel-Haenszel Chi-square test showed that the treatment confidence of the experimental group was significantly increased compared with that of the control group (P<0.05). The VAS score of the experimental group for nursing job satisfaction evaluation was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS: Visual education based on digital intraoral scanning in the immediate implant patient population can significantly improve patients' anxiety, which is conducive to further improving patients' confidence and satisfaction.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: To evaluate the clinical effect of subgingival sandblasting with glycine powder on prevention of peri-implantitis. METHODS: One hundred and eight patients underwent dental implantation at First Outpatient Department from January 2017 to January 2018 were divided into 3 groups, i.e., subgingival sandblasting group(group A,n=60), subgingival ultrasound group (group B, n=60) and control group (group C, n=60). The occurrence of peri-implantitis among 3 groups was compared. Statistical analysis was conducted with SPSS 17.0 software package. RESULTS: Eighteen months after dental implantation, the rate of peri-implantitis in subgingival sandblasting group was significantly lower than that of subgingival ultrasound group and control group (P=0.04). There was significant difference in probe depth, bleeding index and plaque index among the three groups(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Subgingival sandblasting with glycine powder can significantly reduce the occurrence of peri-implantitis, and can be an effective maintenance method for implant denture.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: To summarize the experience and effect of holistic quality nursing during perioperative period of maxillary sinus lateral fenestration. METHODS: From January 2010 to December 2016, there were a total of 26 patients with maxillary sinus lateral fenestration in the First Dental Clinic Department. Through observation and analysis of nursing cooperation combined with psychological nursing in the perioperative period, coordination and postoperative nursing, the overall experience and effect of holistic quality nursing were summarized. RESULTS: All 26 patients received effective bone increment after operations without any complications. Nursing cooperation and psychological nursing were essential and effective during perioperative period of maxillary sinus lateral fenestration. CONCLUSIONS: Modern holistic quality nursing embodied thoughtful preoperative preparation, suitable psychological nursing, accurate nursing cooperation and postoperative meticulous care follow up, which plays an important role in the success of maxillary sinus lateral fenestration.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: To evaluate the effect of one-stop service of dental clinic for old people. METHODS: Before and after the implementation of one-stop service in the First Dental Clinic,120 elderly patients were selected as the study subjects. SPSS19.0 software was used to compare the average time and payment time of the two groups of patients, and the patients' satisfaction with the service. RESULTS: After one-stop service, the average clinical time and payment time were significantly decreased, which had statistical significance (P<0.01). The satisfaction degree from one-stop service was improved significantly (from 90% to 98%). CONCLUSIONS: The results indicated that one-stop service, by optimizing the treating process of oral diseases and improving clinical experience of aged patients, might be a more advanced service pattern to meet the demand of oral diseases and improve oral health level of the aged patients.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: To analyze and evaluate dust pollution in prosthodontic clinic and make proposal for reasonable protection. METHODS: This study analyzed the particle size, element composition and dust concentration of 5 materials which were commonly used in dental restorations (veneering ceramics, cobalt-chromium alloy, photosensitive plastic, hard base resin, advanced artificial teeth) by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS) and dust concentration laser tester, in order to assess the effects of prosthodontic dust posed on medical staff health and put forward reasonable suggestions for prevention and control of dust pollution. RESULTS: The particle size of veneering ceramics, cobalt-chromium alloy, photosensitive plastic, hard base resin and advanced artificial teeth was (2.15±3.00), (33.78±24.33), (7.78±11.86), (31.16±44.35) and (28.45±39.21)µm, respectively. The time weighted average respirable dust concentration of veneering ceramics was 0.393 mg/m2 which was beyond the scope of national security. CONCLUSIONS: Dust pollution is serious in prosthodontic clinic to which we should pay more attention and take appropriate prevention measures.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: To study the influence of disinfectant soaking on the dimensional stability of three kinds of dental gypsum model. METHODS: Three commonly used gypsums ( type III,IV,Vtype) in clinic were used to make 24 specimens for 50 mm×15 mm×10 mm in size. One hour after release, the specimens were placed for 24 h. A digital caliper was used to measure the size of the gypsum model. Distilled water immersion was as used control, glutaraldehyde disinfectant and Metrix CaviCide disinfectant soaking were used for the experimental group. After soaking for 0.5h, the gypsum models were removed and placed for 0.5 h, 1 h, 2 h, 24 h. The size of the models was measured again using the same method. The data was analyzed with SPSS10.0 software package. RESULTS: The initial gypsum model length was (50.07±0.017) mm, (50.048±0.015) mm and (50.027±0.015) mm. After soaking for different times, the size of the model changed little, and the dimensions changed less than 0.01%. CONCLUSION: The results show that disinfectant soaking has no significant effect on dental model dimensions.
