PURPOSE: This study aims to evaluate the morphology of the genial tubercle (GT) and lingual foramen (LF) between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and non-OSA patients for considerations of mandibular advancement surgery. METHODS: Cone beam CT records of 198 patients were retrospectively collected and analyzed. Five variables were measured for genial tubercle; anterior mandible thickness (AMT), the distance from the lower incisors to the superior border of the genial tubercle, the distance from the inferior border of the genial tubercle to inferior border of the mandible, the height of GT, and genial tubercle width. Lingual foramen were classified according to the genial tubercle. The frequencies, distances of lingual foramen to alveolar crest, lower border of mandible (LVDL) and diameter of LF were also measured. RESULTS: Significant differences was found for genial tubercle width, anterior mandible thickness, and the distance of lower mandibular border to the midline lingual foramina between OSA and non-OSA patients (p < 0.05). AMT gets thicker and GT gets narrower in OSA patients (p < 0.05). A linear regression analysis on the apnea hypopnea index with measured anatomical variables showed the LVDL (R = - 0.355*), body mass index (R = 0.254), and age (R = 0.33) showed a statistically significant association (p < 0.05). None of the other variables reached formal significance. CONCLUSION: LVDL is linearly associated with sleep apnea severity. The variable dimensions and anatomy of genial tubercle as well as lingual foramen for OSA patients suggest the need of 3D preoperative radiological evaluation before genioglossus advancement surgery. Cone beam CT can be a powerful low radiation dose tool both for evaluating the anatomy of the upper airway and mandibular structures at the same time for OSA patients.

BACKGROUND: Numb chin syndrome is an uncommon but well-recognized symptom in medical oncology. This condition can be related to metastatic neurological manifestation of malignancy, often with no clinically visible pathology. About 1% of oral cancers, which are located in the soft tissues and jaws, are metastases of primary tumors located elsewhere in the body. The posterior mandible is the most common site of metastasis of the oral region because of its rich blood supply in active areas of hematopoiesis. This article describes prostate carcinoma metastasis located in the mandible and temporomandibular joint of a 78-year-old male. CASE PRESENTATION: A 78-year-old male patient presented to our outpatient clinic with a complaint of numbness and pain on the left site of the mandible. The patient stated that he had been suffering from this numbness for 1 to 2 months. In the medical anamnesis, it was discovered that patient had prostate carcinoma (CA) 5 years previous, and since then, he had visited his doctor periodically for an annual examination. In these examinations and on the basis of tests carried out at the hospital 1 year previous, it was stated that no CA relapse traces were detected. The patient had visited his dentist 2 months previous for pain and numbness of the left molar region. CONCLUSIONS: We report numb chin syndrome, which is an uncommon neurological manifestation of metastatic malignancy. The clinical course and rapid deterioration after the initial presentation of this syndrome is discussed. This clinical situation illustrates the importance of good medical history review prior to all procedures by the medical professions dealing with oncology patients. An awareness of this condition is crucial, especially in symptoms with unexplained facial pain and numbness.

The foramen tympanicum is a persistent anatomic formation of the temporal bone due to a defect in ossification normal bone physiology in neonatal or postnatal period. This study determined the occurrence and location of the foramen tympanicum in a Turkish sample using cone-beam computed tomography. Scans of 370 sites in 185 patients were retrospectively analyzed to determine foramen tympanicum occurrence, sizes, and locations according to their orthodontic malocclusions. Measurements were done on axial and sagittal sections to identify the dimensions. Differences in foramen tympanicum incidence by measurements, sex, side, malocclusions, and location were statistically evaluated. Foramen tympanicum was determined in 42 (22.7%) of 185 patients. No statistical difference was found considering location and sex (P > 0.05), but it was found more bilaterally in female patients within significance level at P = 0.024. Mean sizes did not differ significantly by sex but were found to be greater in females. In axial diameter, the average measurement was found wider on the right side of all patients (P = 0.017). The findings showed a greater foramen tympanicum dimension among class II than among class I and III subjects (P < 0.05). Knowledge about these structures is helpful for the interpretation of imaging (especially cone-beam computed tomography) and provides valuable information especially before orthognathic surgery to avoid intraoperative reconstruction and complications.

OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this study was to clarify the perimandibular neurovascularization with mandibular accessory mental foramina in a children population using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) to avoid complications during anesthetic and surgical procedures. METHODS: This retrospective study evaluated cone-beam CT images for bifid mandibular canals in the mandibles of 63 children (35 girls, 28 boys; age range, 7-16 years; mean age, 12.3 years). Both right and left sides were examined from CT images (n = 126), including axial, sagittal, cross-sectional, and panoramic views as well as reconstructed three-dimensional images, as necessary. The course, length, and superior and inferior angles between canals were classified and measured. RESULTS: Bifid mandibular canals were observed in 34 (27%) of the 126 sides examined. The most frequently encountered type of bifid canal was the retromolar canal (11.1%), followed by the forward (7.14%), buccolingual (6.35%), and dental canal (2.4%). Mean lengths of bifid canals were 10.2 mm on the right side and 10.6 mm on the left side. Mean superior angles were 131 degrees on the right side and 147 degrees on the left side, whereas mean inferior angles were 47 degrees on the right side and 34 degrees on the left side. No statistically significant differences were found in the lengths or angles between the right and left sides or between boys and girls (P < 0.05). The most common position for the mental foramen was between the first and second premolars, and an accessory mental foramen was observed in 4 children (6.34%). CONCLUSIONS: This study utilized CBCT images to identify bifid mandibular canals and accessory mental foramina in children. Cone-beam CT was found to be a useful technique for detecting secondary canals. However, despite the fact that CBCT uses less ionizing radiation than other types of three-dimensional imaging, unless the diagnostic information provided through CBCT improves treatment results, CBCT should not be recommended for use in children or adolescents.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence, height, location and morphology of maxillary sinus septa in dentate, partially dentate and edentulous adults as well as in mixed dentition children using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) for maxillary sinus surgical interventions. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: Five hundred and fifty-four sides in the CBCT scans of 272 patients (30 children and 242 adults) were retrospectively analyzed. The prevalence, location and morphology were assessed in axial, sagittal, cross-sectional and panoramic 3-dimensional images. The height of septa was measured with the angle between the direction of the septum and median palatine suture. The differences among age, localization and measurements were statistically analyzed. RESULTS: The prevalence of maxillary sinus segments with septa was 58%. There were a total of 13 (3.2%) septa of completely edentulous (CE), 198 (53.9%) septa of edentate and 14 (3.8%) septa of the mixed dentition maxillary segments. The location of septa observed in all study groups demonstrated a greater prevalence (69.1%) in the middle region than in the anterior and posterior regions. No statistically significant differences were observed with regard to gender or age, for septum height (p > 0.05). However, maxillary sinus septa are higher in partially edentulous patients than edentate and CE ones (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Septa of various heights and courses developed in all parts of the maxillary sinus, therefore to prevent possible complications during sinus surgery, extensive evaluation with an appropriate radiographic technique was indispensable.

PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to compare vertical and horizontal mandibular alveolar bone resorption by measuring bone morphological variation in Kennedy Class II removable partial denture (RPD) wearers and non-wearers using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). MATERIALS AND METHODS: In total, 124 sites in the CBCT scans of 62 (29 RPD non-wearers, 33 RPD wearers) Kennedy Class II patients were analyzed retrospectively. Three-dimensional representations of the mandible with superimposed cross-sectional slices were developed with the CBCT scans to evaluate the mandibular alveolar height and width by measuring distances between the mandibular canal, mylohyoid ridge, alveolar crest, and lower border of the mandible in four regions (eight sites) of Kennedy Class II non-wearers and wearers of RPDs. RESULTS: Mandibular alveolar bone height and width were significantly lower in edentulous sites when compared with dentate sites in both Kennedy Class II non-wearers and wearers of RPDs (p < 0.05). Additionally, mean vertical and horizontal mandibular bone resorption was significantly higher in RPD wearers than in non-wearers (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Vertical and horizontal alveolar bone resorption was found to be higher in the RPD wearing patients when comparing the dentate and edentulous sites.

BACKGROUND: The aim of our study is to provide successful automatic segmentation of various objects on orthopantomographs (OPGs). METHODS: 8138 OPGs obtained from the archives of the Department of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology were included. OPGs were converted into PNGs and transferred to the segmentation tool's database. All teeth, crown-bridge restorations, dental implants, composite-amalgam fillings, dental caries, residual roots, and root canal fillings were manually segmented by two experts with the manual drawing semantic segmentation technique. RESULTS: The intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) for both inter- and intra-observers for manual segmentation was excellent (ICC > 0.75). The intra-observer ICC was found to be 0.994, while the inter-observer reliability was 0.989. No significant difference was detected amongst observers (p = 0.947). The calculated DSC and accuracy values across all OPGs were 0.85 and 0.95 for the tooth segmentation, 0.88 and 0.99 for dental caries, 0.87 and 0.99 for dental restorations, 0.93 and 0.99 for crown-bridge restorations, 0.94 and 0.99 for dental implants, 0.78 and 0.99 for root canal fillings, and 0.78 and 0.99 for residual roots, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Thanks to faster and automated diagnoses on 2D as well as 3D dental images, dentists will have higher diagnosis rates in a shorter time even without excluding cases.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between orthodontic malocclusion, paranasal sinus (PS) variations, and adenoid vegetation in a group of pediatric patients with chronic rhinosinusitis. Clinical and radiographical data were retrospectively evaluated and 58 patients were diagnosed as having chronic sinus disease. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images were acquired with Newtom-3G. Anatomical variations of the PS were assessed on every section. Additionally, for cephalometric analysis, the images were imported into the InVivoDental software program. A total of 252 anatomical variations, which encompassed 19 different types, were detected in the current study. Concha bullosa was the most common anatomical variation, at 72.4%. Septum deviation was the second most common one, at 67.2%. The Class III group exhibited a significantly higher prevalence of concha bullosa and secondary middle turbinate than the other groups. While adenoid vegetation was most common in the Class III group, sinusitis and antral disease were most common in the Class II group. Overall, Class III subjects exhibited fewer PS variations. In conclusion, concha bullosa emerged as the most prevalent anatomical variation, with distinctive patterns observed across different malocclusion groups. Therefore, CBCT is useful, especially in pediatric patients, due to its low dose advantage.

Vertical root fractures (VRFs) can start at any level of the root and progress longitudinally to the coronal attachment. This study aimed to investigate the effects of different exposure parameters used when obtaining CBCT scans in detecting simulated VRFs. Hence, 80 intact human mandibular single-rooted pre-molar teeth without root fractures were included in the study. No statistically significant difference was found between the filters in terms of VRF detection in the group with the roots with only root canal filling (Groups 1 and 5); however, 100 voxels were found to be more successful in terms of VRF detection than other voxel sizes. Results of this study suggest that using lower voxel sizes leads to an accurate diagnosis of vertical root fracture, in addition, our results revealed that using AR filters did not improve the diagnostic accuracy in detecting VRFs.

BACKGROUND: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is used to provide multiplanar views of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) bone components as well as TMJ pathologies without superposition, magnification or distortion. OBJECTIVES: The study aimed to analyze degenerative changes in the condylar surface, and their relationship with patient age and gender, and the TMJ space measurements by using CBCT images. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A total of 258 individuals were retrospectively analyzed. The degenerative bone changes of the condylar head were evaluated and classified on the right and left sides. The shortest distances from the anterior, superior and posterior parts of the condylar head to the glenoid fossa were measured to represent the TMJ space. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses then evaluated the effect of age and gender on the presence of degenerative changes. RESULTS: Condylar flattening was most frequently observed (413 TMJs, 53.5%). However, the presence or absence of the change types did not differ according to the sides. The mean values of the TMJ space measurements on the right and left sides were narrower in the group with changes than in the group without changes. Nonetheless, no statistically significant difference in the TMJ space was found between the groups (p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: An increased risk of radiographically detectable degenerative alterations in left TMJs was detected for males and for increasing age. Degenerative changes in the condylar surface may affect the dimensions of the TMJ space.

Glioblastoma (GB) has susceptibility to post-surgical recurrence. Therefore, local treatment methods are required against recurrent GB cells in the post-surgical area. In this study, we developed a nanofiber-based local therapy against GB cells using Oleuropein (OL), and rutin and their combinations with Temozolomide (TMZ). The polylactic acid (PLA) core-shell nanofiber webs were encapsulated with OL (PLAOL), rutin (PLArutin), and TMZ (PLATMZ) by an electrospinning process. A SEM visualized the morphology and the total immersion method determined the release characteristics of PLA webs. Real-time cell tracking analysis for cell growth, dual Acridine Orange/Propidium Iodide staining for cell viability, a scratch wound healing assay for migration capacity, and a sphere formation assay for tumor spheroid aggressiveness were used. All polymeric nanofiber webs had core-shell structures with an average diameter between 133 ± 30.7-139 ± 20.5 nm. All PLA webs promoted apoptotic cell death, suppressed cell migration, and spheres growth (p < 0.0001). PLAOL and PLATMZ suppressed GB cell viability with a controlled release that increased over 120 h, while PLArutin caused rapid cell inhibition (p < 0.0001). Collectively, our findings suggest that core-shell nano-webs could be a novel and effective therapeutic tool for the controlled release of OL and TMZ against recurrent GB cells.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of an artificial intelligence (AI) program in identifying dental conditions using panoramic radiographs (PRs), as well as to assess the appropriateness of its treatment recommendations. Material and Methods: PRs from 100 patients (representing 4497 teeth) with known clinical examination findings were randomly selected from a university database. Three dentomaxillofacial radiologists and the Diagnocat AI software evaluated these PRs. The evaluations were focused on various dental conditions and treatments, including canal filling, caries, cast post and core, dental calculus, fillings, furcation lesions, implants, lack of interproximal tooth contact, open margins, overhangs, periapical lesions, periodontal bone loss, short fillings, voids in root fillings, overfillings, pontics, root fragments, impacted teeth, artificial crowns, missing teeth, and healthy teeth. Results: The AI demonstrated almost perfect agreement (exceeding 0.81) in most of the assessments when compared to the ground truth. The sensitivity was very high (above 0.8) for the evaluation of healthy teeth, artificial crowns, dental calculus, missing teeth, fillings, lack of interproximal contact, periodontal bone loss, and implants. However, the sensitivity was low for the assessment of caries, periapical lesions, pontic voids in the root canal, and overhangs. Conclusion: Despite the limitations of this study, the synthesized data suggest that AI-based decision support systems can serve as a valuable tool in detecting dental conditions, when used with PR for clinical dental applications.

The study aimed to generate a fused deep learning algorithm that detects and classifies the relationship between the mandibular third molar and mandibular canal on orthopantomographs. Radiographs (n = 1880) were randomly selected from the hospital archive. Two dentomaxillofacial radiologists annotated the data via MATLAB and classified them into four groups according to the overlap of the root of the mandibular third molar and mandibular canal. Each radiograph was segmented using a U-Net-like architecture. The segmented images were classified by AlexNet. Accuracy, the weighted intersection over union score, the dice coefficient, specificity, sensitivity, and area under curve metrics were used to quantify the performance of the models. Also, three dental practitioners were asked to classify the same test data, their success rate was assessed using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient. The segmentation network achieved a global accuracy of 0.99 and a weighted intersection over union score of 0.98, average dice score overall images was 0.91. The classification network achieved an accuracy of 0.80, per class sensitivity of 0.74, 0.83, 0.86, 0.67, per class specificity of 0.92, 0.95, 0.88, 0.96 and AUC score of 0.85. The most successful dental practitioner achieved a success rate of 0.79. The fused segmentation and classification networks produced encouraging results. The final model achieved almost the same classification performance as dental practitioners. Better diagnostic accuracy of the combined artificial intelligence tools may help to improve the prediction of the risk factors, especially for recognizing such anatomical variations.

Numb chin syndrome, sometimes called numb lip syndrome, is an uncommon but well-recognized symptom in medical oncology. It may be a metastatic neurologic manifestation of malignancy, often with no clinically visible pathologic finding. The authors report a numb chin syndrome as a manifestation possible breast cancer metastasis around dental implants in a 69-year-old woman. The patient was presented with complaint of numbness in the lower jaw. Medical anamnesis revealed a metastatic breast carcinoma (CA). Radiographic imaging with conventional panoramic radiography and cone beam computed tomographic examination, revealed a moth-eaten shape, radiolucent, and radiopaque mixed appearance around the dental implants that was related with possible metastasis of the breast cancer. Numb chin syndrome is almost unknown within the dental and oral and maxillofacial community, despite being well reported in the medical literature. General dentists, oral medicine specialists, and oral and maxillofacial surgeons must be aware of this condition to consider metastatic cancer in patients with unexplained facial hypoesthesia. Moreover, although the development of metastatic lesions around implants is an uncommon pathologic finding, the examination of peri-implant lesion should be performed carefully considering the entire pathologic situations.

PURPOSE: Knowing the anatomic location and also variations of the mandibular canal is especially important for surgical procedures on mandible such as dental implant surgery, impacted molar extraction and sagittal split ramus osteotomy. The purpose of this study was to clarify the incidence and location of bifid mandibular canals in an adult Turkish population to avoid complications during surgical procedures. METHODS: A retrospective study using cone beam CT images was performed to evaluate bifid mandibular canal in mandible of 242 patients. Both right and left sides were studied (n = 484). Axial, sagittal, cross-sectional and panoramic images were evaluated, and three-dimensional (3D) images were also reconstructed and evaluated, as necessary. The course and length of bifid mandibular canals and the superior and inferior angles between canals were measured. RESULTS: Bifid mandibular canals were observed in 225 (46.5%) of 484 sides examined. The most frequently encountered type of bifid canal was the forward canal (29.80%), followed by the retromolar (28.10%) the buccolingual (14.50%) and the dental canal type (8.30%). Mean lengths of bifid canals were 13.6 mm in the right side and 14.1 mm in the left side. Mean superior angles were 139° on the right and 141° on the left side, whereas mean inferior angles were 38° on the right side and 32° on the left side. No statistically significant differences were found in the lengths or angles between the right and left sides and also for gender (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: This study, which utilized CBCT images, uncovered a higher prevalence of bifid mandibular canals than what has been reported in previous studies using conventional radiography techniques.

AIM: Osteonecrosis can affect the mandibular condyle, and bone marrow edema may be a precursor in osteonecrosis development in temporomandibular disorder (TMD) patients. Early detection of bone marrow changes is crucial for occurring osteonecrosis. The purpose of this study was to compare the diagnostic value of fast spin-echo T2 weighted (FSE-T2W), fat-suppressed T2W (FS-T2W), and three-dimensional (3D) fast imaging employing steady-state acquisition (FIESTA-C) MR sequences for early detection of bone marrow changes as well as TMJ soft tissue alterations. METHODS: A total of 60 joints with TMD were included in this study using a 1.5T MR machine (Signa HDxt, GE, Milwaukee, USA) using a dual surface TMJ coil. Qualitatively, the images were interpreted by two observers for disk configuration, disk position, joint fluid, and bone marrow changes. Quantitatively, signal intensity ratios (SIR) in the TMJ condyle, retrodiscal tissue, disk, and muscle were also measured using all tested sequences. Kappa coefficients were calculated to assess both intra- and interobserver agreements for each image set. The SIR of each sequence was compared using a one-way ANOVA Bonferroni-Dunn test. RESULTS: Overall intraobserver kappa coefficients ranged between 0.35 and 0.88 for joint fluid and between 0.22 and 0.82 for bone marrow changes diagnosis, suggesting high intraobserver agreement for FS-T2W and 3D FIESTA-C sequences than FSE T2W sequence (p < 0.05). 3D FIESTA-C showed higher agreement values for disk configuration and position detection than other sequences. CONCLUSIONS: 3D FIESTA-C sequences can be used and incorporated into routine MRI protocols for obtaining high-resolution TMJ MR images due to the short acquisition time and 3D nature of the sequence. Additional studies should be done for dynamic TMJ imaging with this sequence.

In this study, a novel AI system based on deep learning methods was evaluated to determine its real-time performance of CBCT imaging diagnosis of anatomical landmarks, pathologies, clinical effectiveness, and safety when used by dentists in a clinical setting. The system consists of 5 modules: ROI-localization-module (segmentation of teeth and jaws), tooth-localization and numeration-module, periodontitis-module, caries-localization-module, and periapical-lesion-localization-module. These modules use CNN based on state-of-the-art architectures. In total, 1346 CBCT scans were used to train the modules. After annotation and model development, the AI system was tested for diagnostic capabilities of the Diagnocat AI system. 24 dentists participated in the clinical evaluation of the system. 30 CBCT scans were examined by two groups of dentists, where one group was aided by Diagnocat and the other was unaided. The results for the overall sensitivity and specificity for aided and unaided groups were calculated as an aggregate of all conditions. The sensitivity values for aided and unaided groups were 0.8537 and 0.7672 while specificity was 0.9672 and 0.9616 respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between the groups (p = 0.032). This study showed that the proposed AI system significantly improved the diagnostic capabilities of dentists.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate age- and sex-related changes in the anatomical relationships between the roots of the molars and premolars and the mandibular canal using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images. A total of 243 patients (116 males, 127 females) aged 16-83 years for whom previous CBCT scans were available were enrolled in this study. The patients were subcategorized by sex and age (Group I, <21 years; Group II, 21-40 years; and Group III, >40 years). The distances between the mandibular canal and the molars and premolars were measured. The mandibular canal was significantly closer to the root apices of the second and third molars than to the apices of other evaluated teeth (p < 0.05). All measurements were significantly higher in male than in female subjects (p < 0.05). Group I subjects exhibited significantly shorter distances between the mandibular canal and root apices of the first and second premolars, and the molars, than those of Group II and III subjects (p < 0.05). Direct contact relationships were found in 1.6%, 3.3%, 3.3%, 16%, and 32.2% of teeth (running from the first premolar to the third molar, respectively). Age and sex influenced the anatomical relationships between mandibular teeth and the mandibular canal, and these should be considered when planning endodontic and surgical procedures to avoid potential nerve injury.

BACKGROUND/AIM: The aim of this study was to create a database of 3D cephalometric measurements of Turkish Cypriot patients using a 3D rendering software program. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study population comprised 121 subjects who had undergone cone beam CT imaging (CBCT). Invivo 5.1 software was used to generate cephalograms from the CBCT dataset that were then linked to the 3D hard-tissue surface representations. In total, 38 angular and 28 linear widely used measurements were recorded. RESULTS: The results demonstrated that males had significantly larger mean values than females for all linear measurements, except for dentoalveolar parameters (P < 0.05). Additionally, significant differences were found in most of the mandibular anteroposterior and vertical measurements, especially SNB, GoGn/SN, FMA, and MP/SN, between the sexes (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: This is the first population-based study to focus solely on Turkish Cypriots' craniofacial anatomy and orthodontic characteristics. The present findings will produce 3D cephalometric normative data for the Cypriot population and will be valuable for oral and maxillofacial surgeons and orthodontists in Cyprus, the UK, Australia, Turkey, and other European countries who treat a large number of Turkish Cypriot patients.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among the pterygoid hamulus (PH), the maxillo-mandibular complex to the pharynx, the upper airway, and the soft palate and a possible connection to sleep apnea severity as assessed by polysomnography. STUDY DESIGN: A total of 100 left and right sides of the PH were retrospectively measured by two observers from 50 cone beam computed tomography images by using three-dimensional rendering program in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (33 males and 17 females, with a mean age of 56.8 years; range 32-82 years). RESULTS: The mean apnea hypopnea index was 30.2 (range 0-95). A linear regression analysis on the apnea hypopnea index with the total length of the PH adjusted for gender, body mass index, neck circumference, and age showed a statistically significant association: (-0.234(∗); P = .005). None of the other variables reached formal significance. CONCLUSION: The pterygoid hamulus length is inversely associated with sleep apnea severity. Our study provides further insight into the pathophysiology of sleep apnea, with the result that PH length could be a future supplementary measurement to help clinicians to stratify and determine the best treatment options for patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
