RESUMO

A hierarchical metal-organic framework, H-mMOF-1 (representing hierarchical medi-MOF-1), was successfully synthesized by the coassembly of MOF starting reagents and a triblock copolymer surfactant F127. The obtained H-mMOF-1 retained its microporous structure but also exhibited mesopores with a size range from 3 to 10 nm. The mesopores were able to accommodate protein Cyt c with a loading capacity of 160 mg g-1. The surfactant-assisted synthesis of hierarchical MOFs provides promising applications for enzyme immobilization.

RESUMO

The excellent adhesion of mussels under wet conditions has inspired the development of numerous catechol-based wet adhesives. Nevertheless, the performance of catechol-based wet adhesive suffers from the sensitivity toward temperature, pH, or oxidation stimuli. Therefore, it is of great significance to develop non-catechol-based wet adhesives to fully recapitulate nature's dynamic function. Herein, a novel type of non-catechol-based wet adhesive is reported, which is readily formed by self-assembly of commercially available branched polyethylenimine and phosphotungstic acid in aqueous solution through the combination of electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonding. This wet adhesive shows reversible, tunable, and strong adhesion on diverse substrates and further exhibits high efficacy in promoting biological wound healing. During the healing of the wound, the as-prepared wet adhesive also possesses inherent antimicrobial properties, thus avoiding inflammations and infections due to microorganism accumulation.

RESUMO

Water contamination by emerging organic pollutants, such as pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs), is becoming more and more serious. Porous aromatic frameworks (PAFs) are considered as promising adsorbents to remove the PPCPs. To overcome the limitation of PAFs in their powder forms for large-scale applications, herein, we proposed a strategy to covalently anchor PAFs onto electrospun polymer fiber membranes. Polyaniline (PANI) played the role of aromatic seed layer, which was coated on the electrospun polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fiber membrane first. Then, PAF-45 modification was in situ synthesized in the presence of the PANI-coated electrospun PAN fiber membrane. This study could make the PAF-based materials be handled more easily and improve the surface area of electrospun fiber membrane. The obtained composite adsorbent (PAF-45-PP FM) was applied for the adsorption of three PPCPs: ibuprofen (IBPF), chloroxylenol (CLXN), and N, N-diethyl-meta-toluamide (DEET), which exhibited high adsorption capacity and good recycling ability. According to the Langmuir model, the maximum adsorption capacities of PAF-45-PP FM toward IBPF, CLXN and DEET were 613.50, 429.18, and 384.61 mg/g, respectively. In addition, after ten adsorption-desorption cycles, the adsorption capacities toward the three PPCPs decreased slightly. Through an adsorption comparison test, the adsorption capacity of PAF-45-PP FM almost attributed to the loading PAF-45. The adsorption mechanism analysis illustrated that there were pore capture, hydrophobic interaction and π-π interaction between PPCPs and PAF-45-PP FM. Therefore, the PAF-45-PP FM can be potential adsorbents to purify water contaminated with PPCPs.

RESUMO

Using 1,2-bis(trimethoxysilyl)ethane as organosiloxane precursor and a triblock copolymer surfactant, Pluronic F127, as template, a highly ordered mesoporous organosilica with large cagelike pores has been successfully synthesized. Its structure was resolved to be 3-D cubic Fmm by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The intergrowth of hexagonal close-packed and cubic close-packed phases was observed in this material. The effect of different siliceous precursors on the mesostructure was also investigated.

RESUMO

A layered coordination polymer Co(PDC)(H2O)2.H2O containing two helical chains was synthesized, and the resultant crystals were not racemic as evidenced by the observation of strong signals in vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectra.

RESUMO

Novel quaternary pyridinium-type porous aromatic frameworks, PAF-50, and their composites, AgCl-PAF-50, have been synthesized to effectively and efficiently inhibit the growth of bacteria. Most importantly, both PAF-50 and AgCl-PAF-50 have excellent compatibility with conventional polymers, which lead to great operation flexibility and versatility for antibactrial coatings on various medical devices simply via solution or spray coating.

RESUMO

In this paper, polymer-mesoporous silica nanoparticles have been synthesized by a dual-template technology. Cationic polymer quaternized poly[bis(2-chloroethyl)ether-alt-1,3-bis[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]urea] (PEPU) and anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) were used to form a homogeneous comicelle system to induce mesoporous silica spherical nanoparticles with diameters of 50-180 nm. The formation mechanism was studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), which suggested that PEPU played a cotemplate role in the synthesis process, and no mesoporous structure was generated without it. After removing the anionic surfactant, SDS, by an ion-exchange method, the cationic polymer-mesoporous silica nanoparticles were obtained. Using the materials as the host and ibuprofen (IBU)/captopril (CapH(2)) as the model drugs, the system revealed well-sustained release profiles.

RESUMO

A series of rare earth coordination polymers, M(BTC)(DMF)(DMSO) (M = Tb (1), Ho (2), Er (3), Yb (4), Y (5)), with zeolite ABW topology have been synthesized under mild conditions. They exhibit the same three-dimensional (3D) architecture and crystallize in monoclinic symmetry space group P2(1)/n. Their structures are built up from inorganic and organic 4-connected building units, whose vertex symbols are 4.4.6.6.6.8. The building units link to each other to generate approximate 5 x 8 angstroms2 channels along the [100] direction. The luminescent and magnetic properties of these compounds are investigated, and the results reveal that they could be anticipated to be potential antiferromagnetic and fluorescent materials.
