Results led to the conclusion that deficiencies level is high, mainly when the patients are new hospitalized and the fulfillment of those needs is perceived as very important by them.

A survey made with adult patients, submitted to cardiac surgery, who stayed in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) between 24 to 72 hours. The main point of the survey was to verify the most frequent problems felt by the patients in ICU and their expectations in relation to nursin care. It was found that, the majority of the problems felt and of the expectations related to nursing assistance belong in the basic area, more so than in the technical area.

Experiências sôbre a utilidade da panela de pressäo como autoclave / Experiences on the utility of the pressure pan as an autoclave

Confirmaçäo da possibilidade da utilizaçäo da panela de pressäo como autoclave e estabelecimento do processo a ser adotado para êsse fim. Pesquisa nas fábricas de panelas de pressäo constatou que a pressäo média atingida é de 14,5 1b/pol 2(t.=120,4ºC) a 18 1b/pol 2 (t.=124ºC). Improvisaçöes de suporte para colocaçäo do material adaptam a panela para esterilizaçäo. Experiências na autoclavagem do material de superfície e de densidade em panelas de 3,4 e 4 1/2 litros de capacidade possibilitaram o estabelecimento do processo de esterilizaçäo pela panela de pressäo. Testes microbiológicos verificam a eficiência do processo confirmando que a panela de pressäo doméstica pode ser utilizada como autoclave. A esterilizaçäo de material de superfície é obtida em 15 minutos e ode densidade em 30 minutos. O processo é fácil, prático, econômico e acessível a todos.
