RESUMEN

Uranium plays a pivotal role in the nuclear industry; however, its inadvertent release has raised concerns regarding health and environmental implications. It is crucial for a prompt warning and accurate tracing of uranium contamination in emergency scenarios. In this study, a novel and simple method was proposed that combines magnetic dispersive solid-phase extraction (MDSPE) with portable X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) for the on-site sampling and determination of trace uranium in real samples. A magnetic covalent organic framework (Fe3O4@COF) composite with excellent chemical stability and a large adsorption capacity of 311 mg/g was synthesized and employed as an efficient adsorbent for the solid-phase extraction of trace uranium. Without the need for a centrifuge or filter requirement, the established method by benchtop wavelength-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (WDXRF) exhibits an exceptionally low limit of detection (LOD) of 0.008 µg/L with a sample volume of 50 mL and a fast adsorption time of 15 min, rendering it suitable for environmental monitoring of UO22+. Consequently, this approach, in combination with a hand-held portable XRF instrument with an LOD of 0.1 µg/L, was successfully implemented for the on-site extraction and quality assessment of real water samples, yielding accurate results and satisfactory spike recoveries.

RESUMEN

Interferon regulatory factor (IRF) family genes play a critical role in colorectal cancer (CRC) development and impact patient survival. This study evaluated the influence of functional single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in IRF genes on CRC survival, including functional predictions and experimental validations. Multivariate Cox regression analysis identified three linked SNPs as significant survival predictors, with the rs141112353 T/T genotype in the 3'UTR region of IRF6 significantly associated with decreased survival (HR = 1.60, P = 6E-04). Expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) analysis indicated that the rs141112353 TA > T alteration reduced IRF6 expression. Dual luciferase assays showed lower activity for the T allele in the presence of hsa-miR-548ap-3p. Data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and other databases confirmed lower IRF6 levels in CRC tissues, correlating with worse survival and inversely with M2 macrophage infiltration. In vitro, IRF6 overexpression inhibited CRC cell proliferation and M2 macrophage polarization by downregulating MIF expression. These findings suggest that the IRF6 rs141112353 TA > T variant significantly affects CRC survival, potentially by enhancing miR-548-ap-3p binding affinity.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: This study aimed to evaluate the association of race/ethnicity, patient care experiences (PCEs), and receipt of definitive treatment and treatment modality among older adults in the United States (US) with localized prostate cancer (PCa). METHODS: Using Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results dataset linked to Medicare Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (SEER-CAHPS) for 2007-2015, we identified men aged ≥ 65 years who completed a CAHPS survey within one year before and one year after PCa diagnosis. Associations of race/ethnicity (non-Hispanic White (NHW), non-Hispanic Black (NHB), Hispanic, non-Hispanic Asian (NHA), and other) and of interactions between race/ethnicity and PCEs (getting needed care, getting care quickly, doctor communication, and care coordination) with the receipt of definitive PCa treatment and treatment modality within 3 and 6 months of diagnosis were examined using logistic regressions. RESULTS: Among 1,438 PCa survivors, no racial/ethnic disparities in the receipt of definitive treatment were identified. However, NHB patients were less likely to receive surgery (vs. radiation) within 3 and 6 months of PCa diagnosis than NHW patients (OR 0.397, p = 0.006 and OR 0.419, p = 0.005), respectively. Among NHA patients, a 1-point higher score for getting care quickly was associated with lower odds (OR 0.981, p = 0.043) of receiving definitive treatment within 3 months of PCa diagnosis, whereas among NHB patients, a 1-point higher score for doctor communication was associated with higher odds (OR 1.023, p = 0.039) of receiving definitive treatment within 6 months of PCa diagnosis. DISCUSSION: We observed differential associations between PCEs and receipt of definitive treatment based on patient race/ethnicity. Further research is needed to explore these associations.

RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: Multiple studies have identified risk factors for readmission in colon cancer patients. We need to determine which risk factors, when modified, produce the greatest decrease in readmission for patients so that limited resources can be used most effectively by implementing targeted evidence-based performance improvements. We determined the potential impact of various modifiable risk factors on reducing 30-d readmission in colon cancer patients. METHODS: We used a cohort design with the 2012-2020 American College of Surgeons' National Surgical Quality Improvement Program data to track colon cancer patients for 30 d following surgery. Colon cancer patients who received colectomies and were discharged alive were included. Readmission (to the same or another hospital) for any reason within 30 d of the resection was the outcome measure. Modifiable risk factors were the use of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) versus open colectomy, mechanical bowel preparation, preoperative antibiotic use, functional status, smoking, complications (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, stroke, infections, anastomotic leakage, prolonged postoperative ileus, extensive blood loss, and sepsis), serum albumin, and hematocrit. RESULTS: 111,691 patients with colon cancer were included in the analysis. About half of the patients were male, most were aged 75 or older, and were discharged home. Overall, 11,138 patients (10.0%) were readmitted within 30 d of surgery. In adjusted analysis, the reduction in readmission would be largest by preventing both prolonged ileus and by switching open colectomies to MIS (28.0% relative reduction) followed by preventing anastomotic leaks (6.2% relative reduction). Improving other modifiable risk factors would have a more limited impact. CONCLUSIONS: The focus of readmission reduction should be on preventing prolonged ileus, increasing the use of MIS, and preventing anastomotic leaks.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: This study compared opioid utilization trajectories of persons initiating tramadol, short-acting hydrocodone, or short-acting oxycodone, and it characterized opioid dose trajectories and type of opioid in persistent opioid therapy subsamples. METHODS: A retrospective cohort study of adults with chronic non-cancer pain who were initiating opioid therapy was conducted with the IQVIA PharMetrics® Plus for Academics data (2008-2018). Continuous enrollment was required for 6 months before ("baseline") and 12 months after ("follow-up") the first opioid prescription ("index date"). Opioid therapy measures were assessed every 7 days over follow-up. Group-based trajectory modeling (GBTM) was used to identify trajectories for any opioid and total morphine milligram equivalent measures, and longitudinal latent class analysis was used for opioid therapy type. RESULTS: A total of 40 276 tramadol, 141 023 hydrocodone, and 45 221 oxycodone initiators were included. GBTM on any opioid therapy identified 3 latent trajectories: early discontinuers (tramadol 39.0%, hydrocodone 54.1%, oxycodone 61.4%), late discontinuers (tramadol 37.9%, hydrocodone 39.4%, oxycodone 33.3%), and persistent therapy (tramadol 6.7%, hydrocodone 6.5%, oxycodone 5.3%). An additional fourth trajectory, intermittent therapy (tramadol 16.4%), was identified for tramadol initiators. Of those on persistent therapy, 2687 individuals were on persistent therapy with tramadol, 9169 with hydrocodone, and 2377 with oxycodone. GBTM on opioid dose resulted in 6 similar trajectory groups in each persistent therapy group. Longitudinal latent class analysis on opioid therapy type identified 6 latent classes for tramadol and oxycodone and 7 classes for hydrocodone. CONCLUSION: Opioid therapy patterns meaningfully differed by the initial opioid prescribed, notably the presence of intermittent therapy among tramadol initiators and higher morphine milligram equivalents and prescribing of long-acting opioids among oxycodone initiators.

RESUMEN

Designing materials capable of adapting their mechanical properties in response to external stimuli is the key to preventing failure and extending their service life. However, existing mechanically adaptive polymers are hindered by limitations such as inadequate load-bearing capacity, difficulty in achieving reversible changes, high cost, and a lack of multiple responsiveness. Herein, we address these challenges using dynamic coordination bonds. A new type of mechanically adaptive material with both rate- and temperature-responsiveness was developed. Owing to the stimuli-responsiveness of the coordination equilibria, the prepared polymers, PBMBD-Fe and PBMBD-Co, exhibit mechanically adaptive properties, including temperature-sensitive strength modulation and rate-dependent impact hardening. Benefitting from the dynamic nature of the coordination bonds, the polymers exhibited impressive energy dissipation, damping capacity (loss factors of 1.15 and 2.09 at 1.0 Hz), self-healing, and 3D printing abilities, offering durable and customizable impact resistance and protective performance. The development of impact-resistant materials with comprehensive properties has potential applications in the sustainable and intelligent protection fields.

RESUMEN

Chiral multi-resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence (CP-MR-TADF) materials hold promise for circularly polarized organic light-emitting diodes (CP-OLEDs) and 3D displays. Herein, we present two pairs of tetraborated intrinsically axial CP-MR-TADF materials, R/S-BDBF-BOH and R/S-BDBT-BOH, with conjugation-extended bidibenzo[b,d]furan and bidibenzo[b,d]thiophene as chiral sources, which effectively participate in the distribution of the frontier molecular orbitals. Due to the heavy-atom effect, sulfur atoms are introduced to accelerate the reverse intersystem crossing process and increase the efficiency of molecules. R/S-BDBF-BOH and R/S-BDBT-BOH manifest ultra-pure blue emission with a maximum at 458/459 nm with a full width at half maximum of 27 nm, photoluminescence quantum yields of 90 %/91 %, and dissymmetry factors (|gPL|) of 6.8×10-4/8.5×10-4, respectively. Correspondingly, the CP-OLEDs exhibit good performances with an external quantum efficiency of 30.1 % and |gEL| factors of 1.2×10-3.

RESUMEN

This Technical Note reports a new UV photochemical hydride generation (PHG) of As(III/V) in a sulfite medium. Combining PHG for sample introduction with sector field inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (SF-ICPMS) for detection, we established a novel and ultrasensitive approach for the determination of total inorganic As. Arsine was generated simply by exposing arsenic solutions containing 2 mM of sodium sulfite to UV irradiation for 10 s with 1 mM of sodium formate for sensitivity enhancement. An impressive limit of detection of 0.2 ng/L for As, suitable for the quantitation of inorganic arsenic at ultratrace levels, was readily achieved. Formation of hydrated electrons and hydrogen radicals was experimentally validated, and this may be responsible for the reduction of the high-valent arsenic species. The PHG may also provide a new and useful alternative to conventional hydride generation and photochemical vapor generation for the determination of other trace elements, such as Se(VI) and Te(VI), and by other atomic spectrometric techniques.

RESUMEN

Circular RNAs participate in the pathogenesis of various tumors, including gastric cancer (GC). In this study, we investigated the role of circBGN in regulating proliferation and invasion of GC cells and elucidated the mechanism. The expression of circBGN was assessed by quantitative reverse-transcription PCR and in situ hybridization. In addition, loss- and gain-of-function investigations in vitro and in vivo were performed to determine the biological functions of circBGN. Luciferase reporter assays and rescue experiments were applied to investigate the interaction between circBGN and miR-149-5p as well as the relationship between miR-149-5p and IL6. Our results showed that circBGN expression was significantly elevated in GC tissues and cells. Knockdown of circBGN dramatically suppressed GC cell proliferation and invasion in vitro. Xenograft experiments revealed that knockdown of circBGN delayed tumor growth in vivo. Furthermore, circBGN can directly bind to miR-149-5p, thereby preventing miR-149-5p from binding to its target mRNA [IL6 mRNA], thus activating IL6/STAT3 signaling pathway. Rescue assays indicated that circBGN regulates GC cell proliferation and invasion by upregulating miR-149-5p/IL6 axis output. Taken together, our investigation indicates that circBGN supports GC progression by activating IL6/STAT3 signaling pathway, thus pointing to a new possible therapeutic target in GC.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVES: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality among US women. Minority women have higher rates of CHD and are more likely to experience adverse outcomes. Because of racial disparities in CHD outcomes, the purpose of this study was to assess CHD knowledge and awareness in African American and Hispanic women. METHODS: Using a survey research design, a convenience sample of African American and Hispanic women was surveyed in their local communities. CHD knowledge, awareness, and demographic data were collected using an online survey. The survey was administered in English and Spanish using an iPad. CHD knowledge was assessed using a 7-item survey based on the American Heart Association's Life's Simple 7 brochure. CHD awareness was assessed using a 7-item survey adapted from the American Heart Association's Survey of Women's Cardiovascular Disease Awareness. CHD knowledge was scored on a scale of 0 to 7, and awareness was assessed based on responses to each question. The data analysis consisted of cross-tabulations and multivariable repeated measures analysis. We assessed differences in CHD knowledge and awareness based on race/ethnicity. We hypothesized that there would be statistically significant differences in CHD knowledge and awareness based on specific demographic factors (eg, age, income, education, health literacy). RESULTS: A total of 100 African American (n=50) and Hispanic (n = 50) women participated in the study. Results revealed that CHD knowledge and awareness were limited for both groups. Seventy-three percent of participants (African American 66%; Hispanic 80%) did not know that CHD is the leading cause of death in women and 75% (African American 60%; Hispanic 90%) were moderately or not at all informed about CHD. CONCLUSIONS: These findings support the need for more research on innovative strategies to improve CHD knowledge and awareness, particularly in African American and Hispanic women who are at highest risk, thereby addressing racial/ethnic and gender disparities in CHD morbidity and mortality.

RESUMEN

Information security has gained increasing attention in the past decade, leading to the development of advanced materials for anti-counterfeiting, encryption and instantaneous information display. However, it remains challenging to achieve high information security with simple encryption procedures and low-energy stimuli. Herein, a series of strain/temperature-responsive liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) are developed to achieve dual-modal, multi-level information encryption and real-time, rewritable transient information display. The as-prepared polydomain LCEs can change from an opaque state to a transparent state under strain or temperature stimuli, with the transition strains or temperatures highly dependent on the concentration of long-chain flexible spacers. Information encrypted by different LCE inks can be decrypted under specific strains or temperatures, leading to multi-level protection of information security. Furthermore, with the combination of the phase transition of polydomain LCEs and the photothermal effect of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), we achieved a repeatable transient information display by using near-infrared (NIR) light as a pen for writing. This study provides new insight into the development of advanced encryption materials with versatility and high security for broad applications.

RESUMEN

Room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) polymers, whose emission can persist for a long period after photoexcitation, are of great importance for practical applications. Herein, dynamic covalent boronic ester linkages with internal B-N coordination are incorporated into a commercial epoxy matrix. The reversible dissociation of B-N bonds upon loading provides an efficient energy dissipation pathway for the epoxy network, while the rigid epoxy matrix can inhibit the quenching of triplet excitons in boronic esters. The obtained polymers exhibit enhanced mechanical toughness (12.26 MJ m-3 ), ultralong RTP (τ=540.4 ms), and shape memory behavior. Notably, there is no apparent decrease in the RTP property upon prolonged immersion in various solvents because the networks are robust. Moreover, the dynamic bonds endow the polymers with superior reprocessablity and recyclability. These novel properties have led to their potential application for information encryption and anti-counterfeiting.

RESUMEN

Modulation of the ligands and coordination environment of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) has been an effective and relatively unexplored avenue for improving the anode performance of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). In this study, three MOFs are synthesized, namely, M4 (o-TTFOB)(bpm)2 (H2 O)2 (where M is Mn, Zn, and Cd; o-H8 TTFOB is ortho-tetrathiafulvalene octabenzoate; and bpm is 2,2'-bipyrimidine), based on a new ligand o-H8 TTFOB with two adjacent carboxylates on one phenyl, which allows us to establish the impact of metal coordination on the performance of these MOFs as anode materials in LIBs. Mn-o-TTFOB and Zn-o-TTFOB, with two more uncoordinated oxygen atoms from o-TTFOB8- , show higher reversible specific capacities of 1249 mAh g-1 and 1288 mAh g-1 under 200 mA g-1 after full activation. In contrast, Cd-o-TTFOB shows a reversible capacity of 448 mAh g-1 under the same condition due to the lack of uncoordinated oxygen atoms. Crystal structure analysis, cyclic voltammetry measurements of the half-cell configurations, and density functional theory calculations have been performed to explain the lithium storage mechanism, diffusion kinetics, and structure-function relationship. This study demonstrates the advantages of MOFs with high designability in the fabrication of LIBs.

RESUMEN

The wide spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has significantly threatened public health. Human herd immunity induced by vaccination is essential to fight the epidemic. Therefore, highly immunogenic and safe vaccines are necessary to control SARS-CoV-2, whose S protein is the antigenic determinant responsible for eliciting antibodies that prevent viral entry and fusion. In this study, we developed a SARS-CoV-2 DNA vaccine expressing the S protein, named pVAX-S-OP, which was optimized according to the human-origin codon preference and using polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid as an adjuvant. pVAX-S-OP induced specific antibodies and neutralizing antibodies in BALB/c and hACE2 transgenic mice. Furthermore, we observed 1.43-fold higher antibody titers in mice receiving pVAX-S-OP plus adjuvant than in those receiving pVAX-S-OP alone. Interferon gamma production in the pVAX-S-OP-immunized group was 1.58 times (CD3+CD4+IFN-gamma+) and 2.29 times (CD3+CD8+IFN-gamma+) lower than that in the pVAX-S-OP plus adjuvant group but higher than that in the control group. The pVAX-S-OP vaccine was also observed to stimulate a Th1-type immune response. When, hACE2 transgenic mice were challenged with SARS-CoV-2, qPCR detection of N and E genes showed that the viral RNA loads in pVAX-S-OP-immunized mice lung tissues were 104 times and 106 times lower than those of the PBS control group, which shows that the vaccine could reduce the amount of live virus in the lungs of hACE2 mice. In addition, pathological sections showed less lung damage in the pVAX-S-OP-immunized group. Taken together, our results demonstrated that pVAX-S-OP has significant immunogenicity, which provides support for developing SARS-CoV-2 DNA candidate vaccines.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of resection of primary lesion and chemotherapy on survival of patients with metastatic colorectal neuroendocrine carcinoma (CRNEC). METHODS: Clinical data of 393 patients with metastatic CRNECs between January 2010 and December 2016 were extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database, including 171 patients who received resection of primary lesion and 221 patients who did not undergo surgery. With the propensity score matching method 172 non-operated patients were selected as controls. Kaplan-Meier method and Log-rank test were used to evaluate the survival differences, while the prognostic factors were analyzed by Cox proportional-hazards model. Metastatic CRNEC patients from January 2001 to December 2021 in Affiliated Jinhua Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine were selected for validation. RESULTS: Compared with non-operated patients, patients who received resection had longer cause-specific survival ( P<0.05). Patients with resected positive lymph nodes>8 had a poorer prognosis compared to those with resected positive lymph nodes≤8 ( P<0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that gender, location of primary lesion and treatments were independent risk factors for cause-specific survival in patients with metastatic CRNEC (all P<0.05). For metastatic CRNEC patients with resection of primary lesion, rectal neuroendocrine carcinoma, positive resected lymph nodes≤8 and resection of primary lesion combined with chemotherapy were associated with better cause-specific survival (all P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Patients with metastatic CRNEC may benefit from resection of primary lesion, and resection of primary lesion combined with chemotherapy might be the better strategy for metastatic CRNECs. The number of positive lymph nodes resected is correlated with the prognosis of patients.

RESUMEN

The Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) cause a huge economic loss around the pig industry worldwide; the NADC30-like PRRSV have attracted much attention outbreaks in China in recent years. Recombination between PRRSV subtypes, point mutations, insertions and deletions that contribute to the emergence of new variants in the genome. In this study, the PRRSV-HB-16-China-2019 strain's full-length genomic sequence shares 93.0% nucleotide similarity to NADC30 PRRSV without any gene insertion. Compared with VR-2332, it has an NSP2 coding region that is different from NADC30, which has a discontinuous 206-aa (111-aa from position 323 to 433 and 95-aa from position 476 to 570) deletion. Compared with other NADC30-Like strains, it has a discontinuous 75-amino acid (75-aa from position 476 to 552) deletion, which was first reported. Notably, the strain, PRRSV-HB-16-China-2019, contained an addition a 1-aa deletion in ORF5 and a unique 3-nt deletion in 3'-UTR similar to NADC30, the strain is recombined between a NADC30-like strain and a vaccine strain named RespPRRS MLV(parental strain VR-2332). Our findings indicate that PRRSV-HB-16-China-2019 is a new NSP2-deletion NADC30-like strain with certain deletions and mutations. Our results show that the emergence of the new NADC30-like strain has increased the difficulty of PRRSV prevention in China.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Porcine vesicular disease is caused by the Seneca Valley virus (SVV), it is a novel Picornaviridae, which is prevalent in several countries. However, the pathogenicity of SVV on 5-6 week old pigs and the transmission routes of SVV remain unknown. METHODS: This research mainly focuses on the pathogenicity of the CH-GX-01-2019 strain and the possible vector of SVV. In this study, 5-6 week old pigs infected with SVV (CH-GX-01-2019) and its clinical symptoms (including rectal temperatures and other clinical symptoms) were monitored, qRT-PCR were used to detect the viremia and virus distribution. Neutralization antibody assay was set up during this research. Mosquitoes and Culicoides were collected from pigsties after pigs challenge with SVV, and SVV detection within mosquitoes and Culicoides was done via RT-PCR. RESULTS: The challenged pigs presented with low fevers and mild lethargy on 5-8 days post infection. The viremia lasted more than 14 days. SVV was detected in almost all tissues on the 14th day following the challenge, and it was significantly higher in the hoofs (vesicles) and lymph nodes in comparison with other tissues. Neutralizing antibodies were also detected and could persist for more than 28 days, in addition neutralizing antibody titers ranged from 1:128 to 1:512. Mosquitoes and Culicoides were collected from the pigsty environments following SVV infection. Although SVV was not detected in the mosquitoes, it was present in the Culicoides, however SVV could not be isolated from the positive Culicoides. CONCLUSIONS: Our work has enriched the knowledge relating to SVV pathogenicity and possible transmission routes, which may lay the foundation for further research into the prevention and control of this virus.

RESUMEN

Organophosphate flame retardants (OPFRs) in both of water and sludge phase of influent and effluent of the STP were investigated in Beijing of China in five seasons. Total OPFRs concentrations in water phase of influent in five seasons were between 600 and 838 ng/L, where total OPFRs concentration was the lowest in summer of 2018. In water phase of influent and effluent, two chlorinated OPFRs (TCEP and TCPP) were major. Alkyl OPFRs decreased the most in water phase from influent to effluent. In sludge phase, the OPFRs amounts in winter were the lowest. The main OPFRs in sludge phase were TEHP and EHDP, which can be explained by the two OPFRs properties (log Kow and log Koc). Higher the values of the log Kow and log Koc of OPFRs, more amounts in sludge phase. The mass flow of OPFRs in influent were analysed by Principal Component Analysis (PCA), indicating that the influent amounts of TCEP, TDCP, TCPP and DCP were main OPFRs in four seasons to influence the characteristics of influent. Compared to OPFRs reduction in some STPs in other countries, alkyl and aryl OPFRs reduction rates were higher than chlorinated OPFRs. TBEP, TEHP and TPHP can always be effectively removed in different seasons and different STPs. The analysis methods of Pearson correlation and linear correlation were processed to check the possible factors affecting OPFRs reduction in STP. OPFRs reduction was related to some STP working parameters. Significant correlation also was found between OPFRs properties and reduction.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To analyse clinical and molecular features in patients with surgically resected patients with lung cancer harbouring anaplastic lymphoma kinase fusion. METHODS: The retrospective study was conducted at Zhejiang Cancer Hospital, Hangzhou, China, and comprised data from November 2013 to August 2015 of lung cancer patients. Anaplastic lymphoma kinase, epidermal growth factor receptor, kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene, v-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog, REarranged during Transfection proto-oncogene, c-ros oncogene 1 receptor kinase, V-Erb-B2 avian erythroblastic leukaemia viral oncogene homolog 2 and mesenchymal epithelial transition factor were noted using next generation sequencing. Clinicopathological parameters were also investigated. All patients were followed up till August 10, 2017. Data was analysed using SPSS 22. RESULTS: Of the 19 patients, 15(79%) were non-smokers. Anaplastic lymphoma kinase rearrangements occurred in the acinar predominant in 6(31.6%), solid predominant 6(31.6%) and mucinous predominant 4(21%) adenocarcinomas. There was 1(5.2%) patient with epidermal growth factor receptor 21 G863D mutation. The 3-year disease-free survival rate in 5(26.3%) cases of anaplastic lymphoma kinase variant 1 was 5(100%), while in the 14(73.7%) cases of non-variant 1 group it was 9(64.3%) (p=0.257). CONCLUSIONS: Anaplastic lymphoma kinase rearrangements did not tend to be accompanied with other driver genes. Difference between variant 1 and non-variant 1 patients was uncertain and needs to be further investigated.

RESUMEN

Low temperature and atmospheric pressure plasma-induced polymerization was demonstrated as a fast and facile strategy for tailoring of packing phase of COF-1 as well as preparing diverse covalent organic frameworks (COFs) including both two-dimensional (2D) COFs and three-dimensional (3D) COFs. By regulating the solvents, the fast construction of well-ordered AB staggered COF-1 and AA eclipsed COF-1 was facilely realized in minutes. The plasma approach presented here led to the rapid preparation of eight classical 2D COFs, including boronate ester-linkage (COF-5, COF-8 and COF-10), azine-linkage (NUS-2), ß-ketoenamine-linkage (TpPa, TPBD), imine-linkage (ILCOF-1, Py-COF), and 3D-COF-102 (boroxine linkage) in less than 1 hour. Different from conventional methods, the proposed methodology required much less time, lower power, no extra heating, inert-gas protection and pressure. The fast nucleation and growth of COFs with good crystallinity, morphology and thermal stability can be achieved under mild conditions.
