RESUMEN

Promoting charge separation, constructing active sites, and improving the utilization of metal atoms are very important for the design of efficient photocatalysts. A simultaneous loading of Ni2 P cocatalysts on the inner and outer surfaces of mesoporous P-doped carbon nitride hollow nanospheres (PCNHS) to construct a Ni2 P@PCNHS@Ni2 P photocatalyst is reported. Ni2 P cocatalysts loading provides enough active sites on both the inner and outer surfaces for proton reduction, and the formed heterojunctions simultaneously promote the migration and separation of the photogenerated charges on the inner and outer surfaces. The photocatalytic reaction proceeds simultaneously on the inner and outer surfaces of Ni2 P@PCNHS@Ni2 P, which leads to a significantly improved photocatalytic water splitting performance and enhanced atomic utilization. Notably, the hydrogen evolution rate of Ni2 P@PCNHS@Ni2 P is 2.4 times higher than that of Pt-loaded PCNHS. The findings guide the design of hollow nanostructured composites with high-boosting photocatalytic performance.

Objective: Early screening contributes to the early detection of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We conducted a longitudinal ASD screening study in a large community setting. The study was designed to investigate the diagnostic rate of ASD screening and determine the effectiveness of ASD screening model in a community-based sample. Methods: We enrolled children who attended 18- and 24-month well-child care visits in Shanghai Xuhui District. Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers, Revised with Follow-up (M-CHAT-R/F) and Binomial Observation Test (BOT) were selected as screening instruments. Screen-positive children were referred to a tertiary diagnostic center for comprehensive ASD diagnostic evaluation. Screen-negative children received well-child checkups and follow-up every 3-6 months until age three and were referred if they were suspected of having ASD. Results: A total of 11,190 toddlers were screened, and 36 screen-positive toddlers were diagnosed with ASD. The mean age at diagnosis for these children was 23.1 ± 4.55 months, diagnosed 20 months earlier than ASD children not screened. The diagnostic rate of ASD was 0.32% (95% CI: 0.23-0.45%) in this community-based sample. In addition, 12 screen-negative children were diagnosed with ASD during subsequent well-child visit and follow-up. The average diagnostic rate of ASD rose to 0.43% (95% CI: 0.32-0.57%) when toddlers were followed up to 3 years old. The positive predictive values (PPVs) of M-CHAT-R/F, M-CHAT-R high risk, and BOT for ASD were 0.31, 0.43, and 0.38 respectively. Conclusion: Our findings provide reliable data for estimating the rate of ASD detection and identifying the validity of community-based screening model. M-CHAT-R/F combined with BOT can be an effective tool for early detection of ASD. This community-based screening model is worth replicating.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE: To investigate impacts of early postnatal macronutrient intakes on growth and body composition of preterm infants within the first 6 months. SUBJECTS/METHODS: One hundred and thirty-three very preterm (VPT) and/or very low birth weight (VLBW) infants were consecutively included. Enteral and parenteral macronutrient intakes during the first 28 days were recorded and average daily intakes were calculated. Growth was measured at birth, term age, and 6 months of corrected age (CA). Body composition was examined by air displacement plethysmograph at term age and 6 months of CA. Associations of nutrient intakes with growth and body composition over time were analyzed using generalized estimating equation. RESULTS: After adjusting for covariates, higher daily protein, lipid, and energy intake during the first 28 days was associated with higher weight at term age for every 1 g/kg/day increment of protein and lipid intake, and every 10 kcal/kg/day increment of energy intake was associated with 0.50 (95% CI 0.04, 0.96), 0.29 (95% CI 0.07, 0.51), and 0.27 (95% CI 0.10, 0.44) higher weight z-score, respectively. Higher protein intake was associated with lower z-score of fat mass (FM, ß = -1.88, 95% CI -3.53, -0.23) and percentage of body fat (PBF, ß = -2.18, 95% CI -3.98, -0.39) at 6 months of CA, but higher lipid and carbohydrate intake was associated with higher FM and PBF z-scores at 6 months of CA. CONCLUSIONS: Macronutrient intakes during the first month of life have impacts on growth and body composition before 6 months of age. Higher daily protein intake is associated with a better growth and healthier body composition for VPT/VLBW infants.
