RESUMEN

Cold and saline-alkali stress are frequently encountered by plants, and they often occur simultaneously in saline-alkali soils at mid to high latitudes, constraining forage crop distribution and production. However, the mechanisms by which forage crops respond to the combination of cold and saline-alkali stress remain unknown. Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) is one of the most essential forage grasses in the world. In this study, we analyzed the complex response mechanisms of two alfalfa species (Zhaodong [ZD] and Blue Moon [BM]) to combined cold and saline-alkali stress using multi-omics. The results revealed that ZD had a greater ability to tolerate combined stress than BM. The tricarboxylic acid cycles of the two varieties responded positively to the combined stress, with ZD accumulating more sugars, amino acids, and jasmonic acid. The gene expression and flavonoid content of the flavonoid biosynthesis pathway were significantly different between the two varieties. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis and co-expression network analysis based on RNA-Seq data suggested that the MsMYB12 gene may respond to combined stress by regulating the flavonoid biosynthesis pathway. MsMYB12 can directly bind to the promoter of MsFLS13 and promote its expression. Moreover, MsFLS13 overexpression can enhance flavonol accumulation and antioxidant capacity, which can improve combined stress tolerance. These findings provide new insights into improving alfalfa resistance to combined cold and saline-alkali stress, showing that flavonoids are essential for plant resistance to combined stresses, and provide theoretical guidance for future breeding programs.

A glucosyl-rich pectin, JMMP-3 (Mw, 2.572 × 104 g/mol, O-methyl % = 3.62%), was isolated and purified from the pericarp of the immature fruit of Juglans mandshurica Maxim. (QingLongYi). The structure of JMMP-3 was studied systematically by infrared spectroscopy, monosaccharide compositions, methylation analysis, partial acid hydrolysis, and 1/2D-NMR. The backbone of JMMP-3 possessed a smooth region (→ 4GalA1 →) and a hairy region (→ 4GalA1 → 2Rha1 →) with a molar ratio of 2: 5. The substitution of four characteristic side chains (R1-R4) occurs at C-4 of → 2,4)-α-Rhap-(1→, where R1 is composed of → 5)-α-Araf-(1→, R2 is composed of → 4)-ß-Galp-(1 → and ß-Galp-(1→, R3 is composed of α-Glcp-(1→, →4)-α-Glcp-(1 → and → 4,6)-α-Glcp-(1→, and R4 is composed of → 5)-α-Araf-(1→, ß-Galp-(1→, → 4)-ß-Galp-(1→, → 3,4)-ß-Galp-(1→, → 4,6)-ß-Galp-(1 → and → 2,4)-ß-Galp-(1 → . In addition, the antitumor activity of JMMP-3 on HepG2 cells was preliminarily investigated.

High-elevation mountains have experienced disproportionately rapid warming, yet the effect of warming on the lateral export of terrestrial carbon to rivers remains poorly explored and understood in these regions. Here, we present a long-term data set of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) and a more detailed, short-term data set of DIC, δ13CDIC, and organic carbon from two major rivers of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, the Jinsha River (JSR) and the Yalong River (YLR). In the higher-elevation JSR with ∼51% continuous permafrost coverage, warming (>3 °C) and increasing precipitation coincided with substantially increased DIC concentrations by 35% and fluxes by 110%. In the lower-elevation YLR with ∼14% continuous permafrost, such increases did not occur despite a comparable extent of warming. Riverine concentrations of dissolved and particulate organic carbon increased with discharge (mobilization) in both rivers. In the JSR, DIC concentrations transitioned from dilution (decreasing concentration with discharge) in earlier, colder years to chemostasis (relatively constant concentration) in later, warmer years. This changing pattern, together with lighter δ13CDIC under high discharge, suggests that permafrost thawing boosts DIC production and export via enhancing soil respiration and weathering. These findings reveal the predominant role of warming in altering carbon lateral export by escalating concentrations and fluxes and modifying export patterns.

The bioavailable diverse dissolved organic matter (DOM) present in glacial meltwater significantly contributes to downstream carbon cycling in mountainous regions. However, the comprehension of molecular-level characteristics of riverine DOM, from tributary to downstream and their fate in glacier-fed desert rivers remains limited. Herein, we employed spectroscopic and high-resolution mass spectrometry techniques to study both optical and molecular-level characteristics of DOM in the Tarim River catchment, northwest China. The results revealed that the DOC values in the downstream were higher than those in the tributaries, yet they remained comparable to those found in other glacier-fed streams worldwide. Five distinct components were identified using EEM-PARAFAC analysis in both tributary and downstream samples. The dominance of three protein-like components in tributary samples, contrasting with a higher presence of humic-like components in downstream samples, which implied that the dilution and alterations of the glacier DOM signature and overprinting with terrestrial-derived DOM. Molecular composition revealed that thousands of compounds with higher molecular weight and increased aromaticity were transformed, generated and introduced from terrestrial inputs during downstream transportation. The twofold rise in polycyclic aromatic and polyphenolic compounds observed downstream compared to tributaries indicated a greater influx of terrestrial organic matter introduced into the downstream during water transportation. The study suggests that the glacier-sourced DOM experienced minimal photodegradations, with limited influence from human activities, while also being shaped by terrestrial inputs during its transit in the alpine-arid region. This unique scenario offers valuable insights into comprehending the fate of DOM originating from glacial meltwater in arid mountainous regions.

Floods in global large rivers modulate the transport of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and estuarine hydrological characteristics significantly. This study investigated the impact of a severe flood on the sources and age of DOC in the Yangtze River Estuary (YRE) in 2020. Comparing the flood period in 2020 to the non-flood period in 2017, we found that the flood enhanced the transport of young DOC to the East China Sea (ECS), resulting in significantly enriched Δ14C-DOC values. During the flood period, the proportion of modern terrestrial organic carbon (OC) was significantly higher compared to the non-flood period. Conversely, the proportion of pre-aged sediment OC was significantly lower during the flood period. The high turbidity associated with the flood facilitated rapid transformation and mineralization of sedimentary and fresh terrestrial OC, modifying the sources of DOC. The flux of modern terrestrial OC transported to the ECS during the flood period was 1.58 times higher than that of the non-flood period. These findings suggest that floods can modulate the sources and decrease the age of DOC, potentially leading to increased greenhouse gas emissions. Further research is needed to understand the long-term impacts of floods on DOC dynamics in global estuaries.

PURPOSE: To investigate whether or not intermittent hypoxia (IH), the main characteristic of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) may affect the myofibroblast differentiation and extracellular matrix (ECM) production of lung fibroblast through the HIF-1α-TGF-ß/Smad pathway and assess the interventional role of a HIF-1α inhibitor, 2-methoxyestradiol (2-ME2). METHOD: The human lung fibroblast MRC5 cells were exposed to normoxia or IH conditions, and the expression of myofibroblast differentiation marker α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and ECM protein collagen I were evaluated. To clarify the underlying mechanism, the expression level of HIF-1α, TGF-ß, and p-Smads/Smads were measured and the effects of inhibiting HIF-1α with 2-ME2 on the α-SMA expression level and ECM production through the TGF-ß/Smad pathway were assessed. Si HIF-1α was applied to genetically inhibit HIF-1α in MRC5 cells, and the related proteins were assessed. RESULTS: IH increased the protein and mRNA expression of Collagen I and α-SMA of MRC5 cells in a time-dependent manner. IH activated the protein and mRNA level of HIF-1α and TGF-ß and increased the phosphorylation of Smad2/Smad3 of MRC5 cells in a time-dependent manner. 2-ME2 inhibited the activation of HIF-1α induced by IH and decreased overexpression of TGF-ß, p-Smad2/Smad2, and p-Smad3/Smad3, which in turn partially reversed the upregulation of α-SMA and Collagen I induced by IH in MRC5 cells. When HIF-1α was successfully silenced by si-HIF-1α, upregulation of TGF-ß induced by intermittent hypoxia was partially decreased. CONCLUSIONS: This study showed that IH contributes to myofibroblast differentiation and excessive ECM production of MRC5 cells through activation of the HIF-1α-TGF-ß/Smad pathway. 2-ME2 partially attenuated myofibroblast differentiation induced by IH by inhibiting the HIF-1α-TGF-ß/Smad pathway.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) production and emissions from inland waters play considerable roles in global atmospheric CO2 sources, while there are still uncertainties regarding notable nutrient inputs and anthropogenic activities. Urban inland waters, with frequently anthropogenic modifications and severely nitrogen loadings, were hotspots for CO2 emissions. Here, we investigated the spatiotemporal patterns of partial pressure of CO2 (pCO2) and CO2 fluxes (FCO2) in typical urban inland waters in Tianjin, China. Our observation indicated that pCO2 values were oversaturated in highly polluted waters, particularly in sewage rivers and urban rivers, exhibiting approximately 9 times higher than the atmosphere equilibrium concentration during sampling campaigns. Obviously, the spatiotemporal distributions of pCO2 and FCO2 emphasized that the water environmental conditions and anthropogenic activities jointly adjusted primary productivity and biological respiration of inland waters. Meanwhile, statistically positive correlations between pCO2/FCO2 and NH4+-N/NO3--N (p < 0.05) suggested that nitrogen biogeochemical processes, especially the nitrification, played a dominant role in CO2 emissions attributing to the water acidification that stimulated CO2 production and emissions. Except for slight CO2 sinks in waters with low organic contents, the total CO2 emissions from the urban surface waters of Tianjin were remarkable (286.8 Gg yr-1). The results emphasized that the reductions of nitrogen loadings, sewage draining waters, and agricultural pollution could alleviate CO2 emissions from urban inland waters.

BACKGROUND: The gefitinib resistance mechanism in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains unclear, albeit exosomal circular RNA (circRNA) is known to possibly play a vital role in it. METHODS: We employed high-throughput sequencing techniques to detect the expressions of exosomal circRNA both in gefitinib-resistant and gefitinib-sensitive cells in this study. The circKIF20B expression was determined in serum exosomes and tissues of patients by qRT-PCR. The structure, stability, and intracellular localization of circKIF20B were verified by Sanger sequencing, Ribonuclease R (RNase R)/actinomycin D (ACTD) treatments, and Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). The functions of circKIF20B were investigated by 5-Ethynyl-20-deoxyuridine (EdU), flow cytometry, Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), oxygen consumption rate (OCR), and xenograft model. Co-culture experiments were performed to explore the potential ability of exosomal circKIF20B in treating gefitinib resistance. The downstream targets of circKIF20B were determined by luciferase assay, RNA pulldown, and RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP). RESULTS: We found that circKIF20B was poorly expressed in the serum exosomes of gefitinib-resistant patients (n = 24) and the tumor tissues of patients with NSCLC (n = 85). CircKIF20B was negatively correlated with tumor size and tumor stage. Decreasing circKIF20B was found to promote gefitinib resistance by accelerating the cell cycle, inhibiting apoptosis, and enhancing mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), whereas increasing circKIF20B was found to restore gefitinib sensitivity. Mechanistically, circKIF20B is bound to miR-615-3p for regulating the MEF2A and then altering the cell cycle, apoptosis, and mitochondrial OXPHOS. Overexpressing circKIF20B parental cells can restore sensitivity to gefitinib in the recipient cells by upregulating the exosomal circKIF20B expression. CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed a novel mechanism of circKIF20B/miR-615-3p/MEF2A signaling axis involving progression of gefitinib resistance in NSCLC. Exosomal circKIF20B is expected to be an easily accessible and alternative liquid biopsy candidate and potential therapeutic target in gefitinib-resistant NSCLC. Exosomal circKIF20B inhibits gefitinib resistance and cell proliferation by arresting the cell cycle, promoting apoptosis, and reducing OXPHOS via circKIF20B/miR-615-3p/MEF2A axis in NSCLC.

Motivated by cuprate and nickelate superconductors, we perform a comprehensive study of the superconducting instability in the single-band Hubbard model. We calculate the spectrum and superconducting transition temperature T_{c} as a function of filling and Coulomb interaction for a range of hopping parameters, using the dynamical vertex approximation. We find the sweet spot for high T_{c} to be at intermediate coupling, moderate Fermi surface warping, and low hole doping. Combining these results with first principles calculations, neither nickelates nor cuprates are close to this optimum within the single-band description. Instead, we identify some palladates, notably RbSr_{2}PdO_{3} and A_{2}^{'}PdO_{2}Cl_{2} (A^{'}=Ba_{0.5}La_{0.5}), to be virtually optimal, while others, such as NdPdO_{2}, are too weakly correlated.

Methane (CH4) is a matter of environmental concern; however, global methane isotopologue data remain inadequate. This is due to the challenges posed by high-resolution testing technology and the need for larger sample volumes. Here, worldwide methane clumped isotope databases (n = 465) were compiled. We compared machine-learning (ML) models and used random forest (RF) to predict new Δ12CH2D2 distributions, which cover valuable and hard-to-replicate methane clumped isotope experimental data. Our RF model yields a reliable and continuous database including ruminants, acetoclastic methane, multiple pyrolysis, and controlled experiments. We showed the effectiveness of utilizing a new data set to quantify isotopologue fractionations in biogeochemical methane processes, as well as predicting the steady-state atmospheric methane clumped isotope composition (Δ13CH3D of +2.26 ± 0.71‰ and Δ12CH2D2 of +62.06 ± 4.42‰) with notable biological contributions. Our measured summer and winter water emitted gases (n = 6) demonstrated temperature-driven seasonal microbial community evolution determined by atmospheric clumped isotope temporal variations (Δ 13CH3D ∼ -0.91 ± 0.25 ‰ and Δ12CH2D2 ∼ +3.86 ± 0.84 ‰), which in turn is relevant for future models quantifying the contribution of methane sources and sinks. Predicting clumped isotopologues translates our methane geochemical understanding into quantifiable variables for modeling that can continue to improve predictions and potentially inform global greenhouse gas emissions and mitigation policy.

The impacts of human activities on the riverine carbon (C) cycle have only recently been recognized, and even fewer studies have been reported on anthropogenic impacts on C cycling in rivers draining the vulnerable alpine areas. Here, we examined carbon isotopes (δ13CDOC and Δ14CDOC), fluorescence, and molecular compositions of riverine dissolved organic matters (DOM) in the Bailong River catchment, the eastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau to identify anthropogenic impacts on the C cycle. Human activities show limited impact on dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentration, but significantly increased the age of DOC (from modern to ∼1600 yr B.P.) and changed the molecular compositions through agriculture and urbanization despite in the catchment with low population density. Agricultural activities indirectly increased the leaching of N-containing aged organic matter from deep soil to rivers. Urbanization released S-containing aged C from fossil products into rivers directly through wastewater. The aged DOC from agricultural activity and wastewater discharge was partly biolabile and/or photolabile. This study highlights that riverine C is sensitive to anthropogenic disturbance. Additionally, the study also emphasizes that human activities reintroduce aged DOC into the modern C cycle, which would accelerate the geological C cycle.

Formaldehyde can cause leukemia and nasopharyngeal cancer in humans, and is a major indoor air pollutant. In this study, to improve the ability of flowering plants to purify formaldehyde, we cloned the CcFALDH gene encoding formaldehyde dehydrogenase (FALDH) from the spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum), which encodes 379 amino acids with the alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) structural domain, and used it to transform the flowering plant gloxinia (Sinningia speciosa). The FALDH activity of transgenic gloxinia was 1.8-2.7 times that of wild-type (WT) with a considerable increase in formaldehyde stress tolerance. The activities of the antioxidant enzymes SOD, POD, and CAT of transgenic gloxinia were 1.5-2.0 times those of the WT under formaldehyde stress; H2O2, O2-, and MDA contents were markedly lower than those in WT. Liquid formaldehyde and gaseous formaldehyde were metabolized at 2.1-2.8 and 2.1-2.7 times higher rates in transgenic gloxinia than in WT. Our findings indicate that overexpression of CcFALDH can enhance the capacity of flowering plants to metabolize formaldehyde, which provides a new strategy to tackle the indoor formaldehyde pollution problem.

BACKGROUND: We aimed to investigate the interaction between serum uric acid (SUA) levels with estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) to low muscle strength (LMS) among older people in China. METHODS: Cohort data were obtained from China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) in 2011 and 2015. A total of 2,822 community-dwelling adults aged 60 and above were enrolled for the follow-up. Serum uric acid was collected after 8 h of fasting, and handgrip strength was measured with a dynamometer. eGFR was calculated with an equation based on the Chinese population. A generalized additive model was employed for interaction analysis and progressively adjusted confounders. RESULTS: During the follow-up, a total of 659 individuals were excluded due to the lack of grip strength data, leaving 2,163 participants for analysis. Despite the protective effect of high uric acid against low muscle strength, especially in older females, it is not statistically significant (OR = 0.69, 95%CI = 0.45-1.04, P = 0.075). Following the progressive adjustment of covariates, the association between higher eGFR and elevated SUA levels remained statistically significant in females, showing a reduced odds ratio with low muscle strength (OR = 0.82, 95%CI = 0.70-0.97, P = 0.021). However, this trend was not observed in male participants. CONCLUSIONS: This Chinese population-based cohort study suggests that among older females, a higher serum uric acid level combined with a higher estimated glomerular filtration rate is linked to a reduced risk of low muscle strength. This implies that the relationship between high serum uric acid levels and the risk of low grip strength might differ by gender.

Aerobic degradation models are important tools for investigating the aerobic degradation behavior of municipal solid waste (MSW). In this paper, a first-order kinetic model for aerobic degradation of MSW was developed. The model comprehensively considers the aerobic degradation of five substrates, i.e., holocellulose, non-cellulosic sugars, proteins, lipids and lignin. The proportion ranges of the five substrates are summarized with the recommended values given. The effects of temperature, moisture content, oxygen concentration and free air space (FAS) on the reaction rates are considered, and the effect of settlement is accounted for in the FAS correction function. The reliability of the model was verified by comparing simulations of the aerobic degradation of low food waste content (LFWC-) and high food waste content (HFWC-) MSWs to the literature. Afterwards, a sensitivity analysis was carried out to establish the relative importance of aeration rate (AR), volumetric moisture content (VMC), and temperature. VMC had the greatest influence on the aerobic degradation of LFWC-MSW, followed by temperature and then AR; for HFWC-MSW, temperature was the most important factor, then VMC and last was AR. The degradation ratio of LFWC-MSW can reach 98.0% after 100 days degradation under its optimal conditions (i.e., temperature: 55 °C, VMC: 40%, AR: 0.16 L min-1 kg-1 DM), while it is slightly higher as 99.5% for HFWC-MSW under its optimal conditions (i.e., temperature: 55 °C, VMC: 40%, AR: 0.20 L min-1 kg-1 DM).

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the difference in intestinal microbiota between preterm infants with neurodevelopmental impairment (NDI) and those without NDI. METHODS: In this prospective cohort study, the preterm infants who were admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from September 1, 2019 to September 30, 2021 were enrolled as subjects. According to the assessment results of Gesell Developmental Scale at the corrected gestational age of 1.5-2 years, they were divided into two groups: normal (n=115) and NDI (n=100). Fecal samples were collected one day before discharge, one day before introducing solid food, and at the corrected gestational age of 1 year. High-throughput sequencing was used to compare the composition of intestinal microbiota between groups. RESULTS: Compared with the normal group, the NDI group had a significantly higher Shannon diversity index at the corrected gestational age of 1 year (P<0.05). The principal coordinate analysis showed a significant difference in the composition of intestinal microbiota between the two groups one day before introducing solid food and at the corrected gestational age of 1 year (P<0.05). Compared with the normal group, the NDI group had a significantly higher abundance of Bifidobacterium in the intestine at all three time points, a significantly higher abundance of Enterococcus one day before introducing solid food and at the corrected gestational age of 1 year, and a significantly lower abundance of Akkermansia one day before introducing solid food (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: There are significant differences in the composition of intestinal microbiota between preterm infants with NDI and those without NDI. This study enriches the data on the characteristics of intestinal microbiota in preterm infants with NDI and provides reference for the microbiota therapy and intervention for NDI in preterm infants.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is still incurable due to its heterogeneity and complexity of tumor microenvironment. It is imperative therefore to understand the molecular pathogenesis of AML and identify leukemia-associated biomarkers to formulate effective treatment strategies. Here, we systematically analyzed the clinical characters and natural killer (NK) cells portion in seventy newly-diagnosis (ND) AML patients. We found that the proportion of NK cells in the bone marrow of ND-AML patients could predict the prognosis of patients by analyzing the types and expression abundance of NK related ligands in tumor cells. Furthermore, MCL1 inhibitor but not BCL2 inhibitor combined with NK cell-based immunotherapy could effectively improve the therapeutic efficiency via inhibiting proliferation and inducing apoptosis of AML primary cells as well as cell lines in vitro. There results provide valuable insights that could help for exploring new therapeutic strategies for leukemia treatment.

Coreopsis tinctoria Nutt. (C.tinctoria) is an annual herb of the Compositae family with many health benefits, such as clearing heat, antioxidant and anticancer activity. In this paper, two polysaccharides were isolated from C.tinctoria, named CTAP-1 and CTAP-2, respectively. Structure of CTAP-1and CTAP-2 were elucidated by high-performance gel permeation chromatography, chemical derivative analyses, GC-MS and NMR techniques. Results reveal that they both CTAP-1 and CTAP-2 consisted of predominant amounts of galacturonic acid residues along with small amounts of arabinose, rhamnose and galactose.Both them contain homogalacturonan and rhammnogalcturan I regions in different ratio, suggesting their pectin-type features. The proliferation activities of CTAP-1 and CTAP-2 on RAW264.7 cells in vitro were detected. Results show both them have the significant proliferation effect on RAW264.7 cells when the concentration from 40 to 200 µg/mL. Given their structural characteristics and proliferation activities, the pectins are expected to be potential natural immune modulators, which need further study.

PURPOSE: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a complex disease in which phenotypic analysis and understanding pathological mechanisms facilitate personalized treatment and outcomes. However, the pathophysiology responsible for this robust observation is incompletely understood. The objective of the present work was to review how respiratory center regulation varies during sleep and wakeness in patients with OSA. DATA SOURCES: We searched for relevant articles up to December 31, 2019 in PubMed database. METHODS: This review examines the current literature on the characteristics of respiratory center regulation during wakefulness and sleep in OSA, detection method, and phenotypic treatment for respiratory center regulation. RESULTS: Mechanisms for ventilatory control system instability leading to OSA include different sleep stages in chemoresponsiveness to hypoxia and hypercapnia and different chemosensitivity at different time. One can potentially stabilize the breathing center in sleep-related breathing disorders by identifying one or more of these pathophysiological mechanisms. CONCLUSIONS: Advancing mechanism research in OSA will guide symptom research and provide alternate and novel opportunities for effective treatment for patients with OSA.

Lignin is the second most abundant natural biopolymer, which is a potential alternative to conventional fossil fuels. It is also a promising material for the recovery of valuable chemicals such as aromatic compounds as well as an important biomarker for terrestrial organic matter. Lignin is currently produced in large quantities as a by-product of chemical pulping and cellulosic ethanol processes. Consequently, analytical methods are required to assess the content of valuable chemicals contained in these complex lignin wastes. This review is devoted to the application of mass spectrometry, including data analysis strategies, for the elemental and structural elucidation of lignin products. We describe and critically evaluate how these methods have contributed to progress and trends in the utilization of lignin in chemical synthesis, materials, energy, and geochemistry.

Objective To investigate the differences of gut microbiota between patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm and atherosclerosis.Methods From December 2018 to June 2019,20 fresh stool samples were collected respectively from the patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm and atherosclerosis treated at the Department of Vascular Surgery,Peking Union Medical College Hospital.The 16S rDNA high-throughput sequencing was employed to compare the composition,abundance,and α and ß diversities of gut microbiota between the two disease groups,and further determine the significantly differential genera.Results The two groups had great similarities in the composition of gut microbiota.There was no statistical difference in α diversity.Although ß diversity did not have statistically significant difference,certain microbial taxa showed differences between the two groups.The LEfSe demonstrated that the abdominal aortic aneurysm group had higher relative abundance of Leuconostocaceae,Ruminococcaceae,Weissella,and Faecalibacterium while lower relative abundance of Firmicuteria,Selenomonadales,and Veillonellaceae.Conclusion The structure of gut microbiota has differences between patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm and atherosclerosis,and sample size should be enlarged to validate the results.
