RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To compare neuronavigation-assisted intracerebral hematoma puncture and drainage with neuroendoscopic hematoma removal for treatment of hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage. METHOD: Ninety-one patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage admitted to our neurosurgery department from June 2022 to May 2023 were selected: 47 patients who underwent endoscopic hematoma removal with the aid of neuronavigation in observation Group A and 44 who underwent intracerebral hematoma puncture and drainage in control Group B. The duration of surgery, intraoperative bleeding, hematoma clearance rate, pre- and postoperative GCS score, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score, mRS score and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. RESULTS: The duration of surgery, intraoperative bleeding and hematoma clearance were significantly lower in Group B than in Group A (p < 0.05). Conversely, no significant differences in the preoperative, 7-day postoperative, 14-day postoperative or 1-month postoperative GCS or NIHSS scores or the posthealing mRS score were observed between Groups A and B. However, the incidence of postoperative complications was significantly greater in Group B than in Group A (p < 0.05), with the most significant difference in incidence of intracranial infection (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Both neuronavigation-assisted intracerebral hematoma puncture and drainage and neuroendoscopic hematoma removal are effective at improving the outcome of patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage. The disadvantage of neuronavigation is that the incidence of complications is significantly greater than that of other methods; postoperative care and prevention of complications should be strengthened in clinical practice.

In sonodynamic therapy (SDT), when Chlorin e6 (Ce6) accumulates in tumor tissues, its anti-tumor effect can be achieved by ultrasound activation. To increase the local drug concentration of Ce6 in tumor cells, we had established a novel drug delivery system, Ce6-loaded sonosensitive magnetic nanoliposome (Ce6/SML), which realized the targeting delivery by the external magnetic field. It was worth mentioning that the targeting release of Ce6/SML and the activation on Ce6 could be achieved simultaneously by ultrasound of SDT. In our study, after Ce6 was loaded into the sonosensitive magnetic nanoliposome (SML), the values of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in vitro and in vivo were determined, indicating the activation on Ce6 of ultrasound. The delivery system also displayed the tumor-targeting ability and anti-tumor activity, which associated with the determined tumor growth and expression levels of angiogenin (ANG), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). In conclusion, the Ce6/SML-SDT-Targeted delivery system could effectively enhance the anti-tumor activity of SDT and had a great potential application for the treatment of malignant tumors located in deep tissues.

The pathogenesis of ferroptosis in traumatic brain injury (TBI) is unclear; therefore, we aimed to identify key molecules associated with ferroptosis in TBI using bioinformatics analysis to determine its underlying mechanisms. GSE128543 dataset was downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, and TBI-associated modules were obtained by weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA). We identified 60 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) by intersecting the modules with ferroptosis and glycolysis/gluconeogenesis gene libraries. The hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) signaling pathway was identified to be critical for ferroptosis post-TBI, and protein-protein interaction (PPI) network identified 20 hub genes, including phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (PGK1), ribosomal protein (RP) family, pyruvate kinase M1/2 (PKM), hypoxia-inducible factor 1α subunit (HIF-1α), and MYC genes. In this study, we further explored the role of PGK1, a gene involved in HIF-1 signaling pathway; however, its role and mechanism in TBI are still unclear. Moreover, we constructed a TBI mouse model and examined PGK1 and HIF-1α expression levels, and the results revealed their expressions increased after cortical injury in mice and they co-localized in the same cells. Furthermore, we examined the expressions of PGK1 in the cerebrospinal fluid of 20 clinical patients with different degrees of brain injuries within 48 h of surgery and examined the cognitive function of patients according to the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS). The results revealed that PGK1 expression level was negatively correlated with the severity of the brain injury. These findings suggest that PGK1 may become a potential hub gene for ferroptosis via the HIF-1 signaling pathway, second to neurological injury after TBI, thereby affecting patient prognosis.

The parameter design of profile control and oil displacement (PCOD) scheme plays an important role in improving waterflooding efficiency and increasing the oil field production and recovery. In this paper, the parameter optimization model and solution method of the PCOD scheme based on deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) are constructed with the half-year increased oil production (Qi) of injection well group as the objective function and the parameter range of PCOD system type, concentration, injection volume, and injection rate as constraints. Using the historical data of PCOD and extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) method to construct a proxy model of PCOD process as the environment, the change rate of Qi of well groups before and after optimization is taken as the reward function; the system type, concentration, injection volume, and injection rate are taken as the action; and the Gaussian strategy with noise is taken as the action exploration strategy. Taking XX block of offshore oil field as an example, the parameters of the compound slug PCOD process (pre-slug + main slug + protection slug) of the injection well group are analyzed, that is, parameters such as the system type, concentration, injection volume, and injection rate of each slug system are optimized. The research shows that the parameter optimization model of the PCOD scheme established based on DDPG can obtain higher oil production PCOD scheme for well groups with different PCOD, and has strong optimization and generalization ability compared with the particle swarm optimization (PSO) model.

The Guangxi Partridge chicken is a well-known chicken breed in southern China with good meat quality, which has been bred as a meat breed to satisfy the increased demand of consumers. Compared with line D whose body weight is maintained at the average of the unselected group, the growth rate and weight of the selected chicken group (line S) increased significantly after breeding for four generations. Herein, transcriptome analysis was performed to identify pivotal genes and signal pathways of selective breeding that contributed to potential mechanisms of growth and development under artificial selection pressure. The average body weight of line S chickens was 1.724 kg at 90 d of age, which showed a significant increase at 90 d of age than line D chickens (1.509 kg), although only the internal organ ratios of lung and kidney changed after standardizing by body weight. The myofiber area and myofiber density of thigh muscles were affected by selection to a greater extent than that of breast muscle. We identified 51, 210, 31, 388, and 100 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the hypothalamus, pituitary, breast muscle, thigh muscle, and liver between the two lines, respectively. Several key genes were identified in the hypothalamus-pituitary-muscle axis, such as FST, THSB, PTPRJ, CD36, PITX1, PITX2, AMPD1, PRKAB1, PRKAB2, and related genes for muscle development, which were attached to the cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction signaling pathway, the PPAR signaling pathway, and lipid metabolism. However, signaling molecular pathways and the cell community showed that elevated activity in the liver of line S fowl was mainly involved in focal adhesion, ECM-receptor interaction, cell adhesion molecules, and signal transduction. Collectively, muscle development, lipid metabolism, and several signaling pathways played crucial roles in the improving growth performance of Guangxi Partridge chickens under artificial selection for growth rate. These results support further study of the adaptation of birds under selective pressure.
