Objective: To explore the molecular mechanism of circDDX17 regulating the proliferation and apoptosis of non-small cell lung cancer cells by targeting the miR-223-3p/RIP3 molecular axis. Methods: The expression levels of circDDX17, miR-223-3p, and RIP3 in human normal lung epithelial cell lines BEAS-2B and non-small cell lung cancer cells H1299, A549, and H446 were detected by reverse transcription-quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). The plasmids of pcDNA, pcDNA-circDDX17, anti-miR-con, anti-miR-223-3p, pcDNA-circDDX17 and miR-con, pcDNA-circDDX17 and miR-223-3p mimics were transfected into H1299 cells. 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was used to detect the cell proliferation. Flow cytometry was used to detect the cell cycle and cell apoptosis. Plate cloning experiment was used to detect cell proliferation ability. The dual luciferase report experiment was applied to verify the targeting relationship between miR-223-3p with circDDX17 and RIP3. Western blot was used to detect the protein expression of cyclinD1, CDK2, cleaved caspase-3 and Bax. Results: The expression levels of circDDX17 and RIP3 mRNA in H1299, A549, and H446 cells were significantly reduced (P<0.05), the expression level of miR-223-3p mRNA was significantly increased (P<0.05) compared with BEAS-2B. The cell viability [(69.46±4.68)%], the number of cell clones (83.49±7.86), the proportion of cells in S phase [(22.52±1.41) %], the protein expression levels of cyclinD1 and CDK2 in PCDNa-CircDDX17 group were lower than those in pcDNA group [(97.54±7.72)%, 205.03±13.37, (28.69±1.49)%, respectively, P<0.05], while the percentage of G0/G1 phase cells [(64.45±3.56)%], apoptosis rate [(18.36±1.63)%], the protein expression levels of cleaved caspase-3 and Bax in pcDNA-circDDX17 group were higher than those of pcDNA group [(51.33±2.76) % and (5.21±0.54) %, respectively, P<0.05]. The viability [(72.64±5.44)%], the number of cell clones (78.16±8.23), the proportion of S-stage cells [(21.34±1.59) %], the protein expression levels of CyclinD1 and CDK2 in anti-miR-223-3p group were lower than those in anti-miR-con group [(103.47±6.25)%, 169.32±14.53, (28.43±1.26)%, respectively, P<0.05]. Percentage of G0/G1 phase cells [(62.86±3.28)%], apoptosis rate [(14.64±1.67)%], the protein expression levels of cleaved caspase-3 and Bax in the anti-miR-223-3p group were higher than those of anti-miR-con group [(51.33±2.71)% and (4.83±0.39)%, respectively, P<0.05]. MiR-223-3p has complementary sites with circDDX17 or RIP3. The viability [(135.45±9.28)%], the number of cell clones (174.64±10.68), the proportion of S-phase cells [(26.39±2.25)%], the protein expression levels of cyclinD1 and CDK2 in pcDNA-circDDX17+miR-223-3p group were higher than those in pcDNA-circDDX17+miR-con group [(101.56±6.68)%, 107.65±7.62, (21.64±1.72)%, P<0.05]. Percentage of G0/G1 phase cells [(56.64±2.76)%], apoptosis rate [(8.34±0.76)%], the protein expression levels of cleaved caspase-3 and Bax in pcDNA-circDDX17+miR-223-3p group were lower than those of pcDNA-circDDX17+miR-con group [(64.03±3.48)% and (15.21±1.18)%, respectively, P<0.05]. Conclusion: circDDX17 could inhibit the proliferation and induce apoptosis of non-small cell lung cancer cells via targeting the miR-223-3p / RIP3 molecular axis.

RESUMEN

The almost all guidelines of allergic rhinitis (AR) diagnosis and treatment in the world agree the strategy of "combination of prevention and treatment, four in one". There are more descriptions about anti-allergic medications and allergen immunotherapy (AIT), but less contents of environmental control and health education. It is necessary to emphasize again that clinicians must attach great importance to environmental control and strengthen health education in order to realize the three-level prevention of AR and reduce its harm.

Objective: To investigate the species, concentration and seasonal trends of main airborne allergenic pollen in 4 districts and 5 counties of Hohhot City. Methods: The Department of allergy, Beijing Shijitan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University conducted a cross-sectional study about monitoring the airborne allergenic pollen from August 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022 by the gravitational method in 4 districts and 5 counties of Hohhot City, which include Yuquan District, Xincheng District, Huimin District, Saihan District, Tuoketuo County, Helingeer County, Tumotezuoqi County, Wuchuan County and Qingshuihe County. Daily pollens were counted and identified by optical microscopy, and the data were analyzed. Results: The airborne allergenic pollen was collected every month all year round in 4 districts and 5 counties of Hohhot city. Through the whole year of the total quantity of pollens ranged from 24 850 to 50 154 grains per 1 000 mm2 and two peaks of pollen concentration in air were observed,which happened in spring (from March to May) and in summer and autumn (from July to September). In spring, the main pollens were tree pollens, which principally distributed in Populus pollen (18.29%), Ulmus pollen (8.36%), Pinus pollen (6.20%), Cupressaceae pollen (5.23%), Betulaceae pollen (2.73%), Salix pollen (1.80%) and Quercus pollen (1.16%). In summer and autumn, the main pollens were weed pollens, which mainly included Artemisia pollen (42.73%), Chenopodiaceae pollen or Amaranthaceae pollen (7.46%), Poaceae pollen (2.26%), Humulus pollen or Cannabis pollen (0.60%). Conclusion: There were two peaks of main airborne allergenic pollen in 4 districts and 5 counties of Hohhot City. In the spring peak of pollen, the main airborne pollens were tree pollens. In the summer and autumn peak of pollen, the main airborne pollens were weed pollens. The Artemisia pollen was the most major airborne pollen in this area.

Objective: To investigate the features of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (HEHE) in order to improve the preoperative diagnosis rate. Methods: CEUS images of 32 pathologically-proven cases of hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma from January 2004 to August 2021 were collected. Lesions were analyzed to observe the features of enhancement mode, enhancement intensity, and distinct enhancement phases. Results: Among the 32 cases, one had a solitary lesion, 29 had multiple lesions, and two had diffuse-type lesions. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound revealed a total of 42 lesions in 32 cases. In terms of arterial phase enhancement, 18 lesions had overall enhancement, six lesions had uneven dendritic enhancement, 16 lesions had rim-like enhancement, and two lesions had just slight peripheral spot enhancement around the lesions. Among the three cases, there were multiple lesions that had overall enhancement and ring enhancement. In terms of the enhancement phase, 20 lesions showed "fast progression", 20 lesions showed "same progression", and two lesions showed "slow progression". During the late arterial or early portal venous phases with rapid washout, all lesions manifested as hypoechoic. With peaked enhanced intensity, 11 lesions had a lower enhancement intensity than the surrounding normal liver parenchyma; 11 lesions had the same enhancement degree as the surrounding normal liver parenchyma; and 20 lesions had a higher enhancement degree than the surrounding normal liver parenchyma. All 16 ring-enhancing lesions had marked hyperenhancement. In the typical enhancing lesions, four showed hyperenhancement, five showed low enhancement, and nine showed isoenhancement. In the dendrite-enhancing lesions, there were two isoenhancing and four hypoenhancing. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound delineated the boundaries of all lesions more clearly than two-dimensional ultrasound. Conclusion: Contrast-enhanced ultrasound has certain value in the diagnosis of hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma.

Objective: To compare the clinical effects of endoscopic thyroidectomy using a modified gasless transsubclavian approach and the traditional neck approach for unilateral papillary thyroid carcinoma (cN0). Methods: The clinical data of 135 patients with cN0 papillary thyroid carcinoma who underwent unilateral thyroidectomy in the Department of Thyroid Surgery, the First Hospital of Jilin University from October 2020 to November 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 37 males and 98 females, aging (43.2±8.8) years (range: 21 to 59 years). There were 51 cases using the modified gasless transsubclavian approach (TS group) and 84 cases using the traditional neck approach (TN group). Comparative analyses were performed between the operative results of the 2 groups by t-test, Wilcoxon rank sum test, and χ2 test. Results: All endoscopic operations were successfully completed without conversion to the traditional neck approach. Compared to the TN group, the TS group had a longer operation time (M(IQR)) (73.5 (22.5) minutes vs. 90.0 (30.0) minutes, Z=-5.831, P<0.01), more postoperative drainage (60 (25) ml vs. 95 (45) ml, Z=-6.275, P<0.01), higher hospitalization costs (22 687 (3 488) yuan vs. 26 652 (2 431) yuan, Z=-6.944, P<0.01), and a higher rate of parathyroid autotransplantation (15.5% (13/84) vs. 60.8% (31/51), χ2=29.651, P<0.01). There was no significant difference in the total exposure rate of the central compartment, postoperative hospitalization time, the number of dissected lymph nodes, the number of metastatic lymph nodes, C-reactive protein ratio before and after operation, and preoperative and postoperative parathyroid hormone (all P>0.05). Conclusion: Endoscopic thyroidectomy using the modified gasless transsubclavian approach is safe for cN0 papillary thyroid carcinoma, with longer operating time, more postoperative drainage, higher hospitalization costs, and more difficulty in preserving the inferior parathyroid gland in situ compared to traditional open surgery.

This study investigates the evolution of superconductivity in K2-xFe4+ySe5 using temperature-dependent X-ray absorption and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering techniques. Magnetization measurements show that polycrystalline superconducting (SC) K1.9Fe4.2Se5 has a critical temperature (T c) of ∼31 K with a varying superconducting volume fraction, which strongly depends on its synthesis temperature. An increase in Fe-structural/vacancy disorder in SC samples with more Fe atoms occupying vacant 4d sites is found to be closely related to the decrease in the spin magnetic moment of Fe. Moreover, the nearest-neighbor Fe-Se bond length in SC samples exceeds that in the non-SC (NS) sample, K2Fe4Se5, which indicates a weaker hybridization between the Fe 3d and Se 4p states in SC samples. These results clearly demonstrate the correlations among the local electronic and atomic structures and the magnetic properties of K2-xFe4+ySe5 superconductors, providing deeper insight into the electron pairing mechanisms of superconductivity.

Controversy still exists as to whether surgical treatment has any impact on the long-term survival of esophageal cancer (EC) patients with coronary artery disease treated with curative esophagectomy combined with off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCABG). Therefore, the aim of this study was to introduce and assess the effect of esophagectomy combined with OPCABG on both short- and long-term outcomes. From January 2010 to January 2015, 1428 EC or esophagogastric junction cancer patients underwent surgical treatment at Henan Chest Hospital, Zhengzhou, China. The clinical data of 25 patients who underwent EC resection through a left thoracotomy following OPCABG and the perioperative characteristics and follow-up results were analyzed. The majority of the patients were male, and the EC stage was predominantly cT2N0-1M0 II. The most common pathological types were squamous cell carcinoma. The EC surgeries consisted of 15 chest anastomosis procedures and 10 cervical anastomosis procedures with aortocoronary graft implantation (mean: 2.36 grafts per patient). The mean total operative time was 330.8 ± 83.5 minutes. The median intensive care unit and hospital lengths of stay were 1.72 and 21.16 days, respectively. Resection without macroscopic residual disease (R0) was achieved in all of the patients. The most frequent complications included pulmonary infections (24%), arrhythmias (24%), pleural effusion (12%), and esophageal anastomotic leakage (8%). There were no postoperative deaths or myocardial infarctions within 30 days after the surgery. The overall 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates were 88%, 40%, and 24%, respectively, with a median survival time of 43 months. In the short-term, radical resection of EC following OPCABG is a safe and feasible treatment with low postoperative mortality rates. In the long-term, simultaneous surgery is acceptable and is associated with favorable overall and disease-free survival.

Cr(VI) can be released into soil as a result of mining, electroplating, and smelting operations. Due to the high toxicity of Cr(VI), its removal is necessary in order to protect ecosystems. Vermiculite is applied in situations where there is a high degree of metal pollution, as it is helpful during the remediation process due to its high cation exchange capacity. The Cr(VI) contained in the vermiculite should be extracted in order to recover it and to reduce the impact on the environment. In this work, adsorption equilibrium data for Cr(VI) in a simulated sorbent for soil remediation (a mixture that included both humic acid (HA) and vermiculite) were a good fit with the Langmuir isotherm model. The simulated sorbent for soil remediation was a favorable sorbent for Cr(VI) when it was in the test soil. An ionic liquid, [C4mim]Cl (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride), was studied to determine its efficiency in extracting Cr(VI) from the Cr- contaminated simulated sorbent in soil remediation. At 298 K and within 30 min, approximately 33.48 ± 0.79% of Cr(VI) in the simulated sorbent in soil remediation was extracted into [C4mim]Cl. Using FTIR spectroscopy, the absorbance intensities of the bands at 1032 and 1010 cm-1, which were attributed to C-O bond stretching in the polysaccharides of HA, were used to detect the changes in HA in the Cr-contaminated simulated sorbent for soil remediation before and after extraction. The results showed that Cr(VI) that has been absorbed on HA can be extracted into [C4mim]Cl. Using 1H NMR, it was observed that the 1-methylimizadole of [C4mim] Cl played an important role in the extraction of Cr(VI), which bonded with HA on vermiculite and was able to be transformed into the [C4mim]Cl phase.

To analyze the sensitization characteristics and significance of airborne allergens in chronic urticaria (CU) with airway allergic diseases (allergic rhinitis and/or asthma). From May to August 2015, the Department of allergy, Beijing Shijitan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University conducted an epidemiological survey of allergic diseases in grassland area of Inner Mongolia by multistage stratified cluster sampling. The results of skin prick test (SPT) for airborne allergens in 191 patients with CU and 1 132 patients with airway allergic diseases were analyzed. The statistical data were tested by chi-square segmentation method, and the stratified trend of rate was tested by Linear-by-Linear. Among the 191 patients with CU, 92 (48.17%) had CU without airway allergic diseases (CU alone), and 99 (51.83%) had CU with airway allergic diseases. The top three air allergens were house dust mite, chenopodium pollen and salix pollen in CU alone (only one is the major local allergen), and artemisia, humulus scandens and chenopodium pollen in CU with airway allergic diseases (All are the main local allergens) and airway allergic diseases. Compared between CU alone and CU with airway allergic disease, the positive rate of allergen SPT and multiple strong positive rate were statistically significant (59.60% vs 38.04%, χ²=13.336;27.12% vs 2.86%, χ²=8.729;P<0.016 7).There was no significant difference in positive rate of skin prick, multiple positive rate, strong positive rate and multiple strong positive rate between CU with airway allergic disease and airway allergic diseases (59.60% vs 57.69%, χ²=0.136, P>0.016 7; 71.19% vs 75.20%, χ²=0.461, P>0.016 7; 54.24% vs 69.68%, χ²=5.969, P>0.016 7; 27.12% vs 37.83%, χ²=2.663, P>0.016 7), but there was significant difference in these between CU without airway allergic disease and airway allergic diseases (38.04% vs 57.69%, χ²=13.336, P<0.01; 51.43% vs 75.20%, χ²=9.745, P<0.01; 28.57% vs 69.68%, χ²=25.624, P<0.01; 2.86% vs 37.83%, χ²=17.620, P<0.01).The strong positive rate and the multiple strong positive rate of allergen increased with the increase of CU with allergic diseases, and the trend difference was statistically significant (38.04%,56.98% and 76.92%, χ²=10.601, P<0.01; 28.57%,46.94% and 90.00%, χ²=12.085, P<0.01; 2.86%,24.49% and 40.00%, χ²=10.077, P<0.01). The allergen sensitization characteristics of CU with airway allergic diseases are similar to airway allergic diseases,and the detection of airborne allergens may have certain clinical value in the screening of risk factors for patients with CU associated with airway allergic diseases.

Objective: To investigate sensitization rate of cow's milk in children, and explore its clinical features. Methods: This study enrolled a total of 818 patients under 18 years old with suspected food allergy who were admitted to the Allergy department in Beijing Shijitan Hospital during June 2018 to November 2020. The ImmunoCAP fluorescent enzyme-linked immunoassay system was used to quantify cow milk-specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE). Mild sensitization to cow's milk was defined as Radio-Allergo-Sorbent-Test (RAST) class 1, moderate sensitization was defined as class 2-3 and severe sensitization was class 4-6. Statistical methods such as χ2 test, independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Spearman correlation analysis were used to retrospectively clarify differences of cow's milk sensitization rate between ages of children and elaborate its clinical features. Results: Overall sensitization rate of cow's milk reached 25.7% (210/818). Positive rate of cow milk sensitization (39.2%), cow milk sIgE levels [0.93 (0.52, 2.62)] kU/L, and moderate to severe sensitization rate (23.5%) were highest in infants aged between 0-3 years old. The sensitization rate and severity of sensitization declined with age. Most common clinical manifestation of cow milk sensitization was skin symptoms (50.0%), followed by respiratory symptoms (38.9%) and gastrointestinal symptoms (36.1%). Skin symptoms were the most common manifestation in 0-3 year-old group (47.3%), and respiratory symptoms were more common in 4-6 and 7-18 year-old groups (58.7%, 56.0%). Multiple-sensitization rate of patients with moderate to severe cow milk sensitization was 74.1%, most of which (70.4%) were co-sensitized by other food allergens, and 31.5% were co-sensitized by inhaled allergens. Conclusions: In population with age under 18 years old, infants aged between 0-3 years old suffered highest cow milk sensitization rate and increased sensitization severity. Then the severity decreased with age increasing. Patients with cow milk sensitization manifested skin symptoms most.

Rotaviruses infection is one of the main causes of diarrhea among infants and children in the world, resulting in rotavirus gastroenteritis, which is very harmful and has caused a huge disease burden and no specific drug treatment. This paper reviews the rotavirus etiology, epidemiological characteristics, disease burden of rotavirus gastroenteritis and rotavirus vaccines. RV in group A is the main cause of acute gastroenteritis in infants, people at all ages are generally susceptible to RV, 3 to 24 months infants have the most severe symptoms of diarrhea, RVGE epidemic is seasonal and peaks in winter, increasing RV vaccination can reduce the incidence and mortality of rotavirus diarrhea in infants to reduce the burden of corresponding disease. This article focuses on RV vaccines currently in use and their effect on preventing RV infection, and put forward thoughts and suggestions on technical issues related to the application of RV vaccine in China. Provide support for improving the RV vaccine immunization strategy and Chinese-specific immunization strategy for eventually incorporating RV vaccine into the national child immunization program.

In 2016, the median of 24-hour urinary sodium, sodium-to-potassium ratio, and sodium intake per capita of residents in Jiaodong area of Shandong Province were 161.7 (IQR:120.5, 218.9) mmol/d, 3.4 (IQR: 2.4, 5.0) and 9.5 (IQR:7.1, 12.8) g/d, all were lower than that of 2011[193.3(IQR:149.2,243.3)mmol/d, 4.5(IQR:3.3,5.9), 11.3(IQR:8.7, 14.2)g/d] (P<0.05); the median of 24-hour urinary potassium was 47.2 (IQR:34.4, 66.5) mmol/d, higher than that of 2011[42.9(IQR:33.6,56.0)] (P<0.05); the proportion of salt intake per capita per day exceeding 5 g (89.9%) was lower than that in 2011 (90.0%). The results of the generalized linear regression model showed that the 24-hour urinary sodium was positively correlated with systolic and diastolic blood pressure [ß values were 0.04 (95%CI: 0.00, 0.07), 0.03 (95%CI 0.01, 0.05), respectively], and the sodium-to-potassium ratio was positively correlated with diastolic blood pressure [ß(95%CI): 0.78 (0.09, 1.47)].

Objective: To investigate the relationship of DNA oxidative product 8-oxo-dGsn and RNA oxidative product 8-oxo-Gsn with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Methods: Between January 2015 and December 2016, 146 cases of CKD (30, 30, 31, 30 and 25 cases of CKD stage 1-5, respectively) were collected in the Department of Nephrology in Beijing Hospital. Among them, 70 cases were male, accounting for 47.95%. The age distribution ranged from 21 to 88 years, with an average age of (56.43±16.79) years. Their fasting blood and morning urine were collected. The levels of 8-oxo-dGsn and 8-oxo-Gsn in plasma and urine were quantified by isotope-diluted liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (MS)/MS (ID-LC-MS/MS). Results: The urine 8-oxo-Gsn/Cr in patients with CKD stage 1-5 was (3.07±1.07) µmol/mol, (3.42±1.34) µmol/mol, (3.72±1.47) µmol/mol, (3.90±1.93) µmol/mol and (3.75±2.26) µmol/mol, respectively. The urinary 8-oxo-Gsn content in CKD stage 4 patients was significantly higher than those of other 4 stages (P<0.05). The serum/urine ratio of 8-oxo-Gsn was 0.02±0.02, 0.03±0.02, 0.06±0.04, 0.10±0.05 and 0.34±0.03, respectively, and in CKD stage 4 and 5 patients, it increased significantly, especially in CKD stage 5 cases (P<0.05). Expression of 8-oxo-Gsn had a good correlation with renal function[the Spearman 's correlation coefficient: serum 8-oxo-Gsn and serum creatinine was 0.629 (P<0.001); urine/serum 8-oxo-Gsn and eGFR was 0.799 (P<0.001); serum/urine 8-oxo-Gsn and serum/urine creatinine was 0.888 (P<0.001)]. With age increasing, CKD patients showed increased RNA oxidation, and 8-oxo-Gsn increased significantly in patients over 60 years (P<0.05). After multiple linear regression analysis, 8-oxo-Gsn was only associated with serum creatinine (ß=0.656, t=8.275, P<0.001). Conclusions: Our finding indicates that the RNA oxidation occurs in patients with renal disease, and its oxidation increased as the disease progressing. The significant increase in the ratio of plasma and urinary 8-oxo-Gsn is of great importance on evaluating renal function.

4-Methylcatechol (4-MC) is a potential neuroprotective drug because it stimulates the synthesis of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF) in neurons. The present study explored the effect of 4-MC on cell growth and testosterone synthesis in the TM3 Leydig cells of mice. 4-MC did not enhance expression of both BDNF and NGF in these cells. However, this compound significantly inhibited cell proliferation and increased the number of apoptotic cells in a dose-dependent manner. The expression profile of Bax/Bcl-2 gene was altered considerably, and mitochondrial activity was significantly decreased in cells. 4-Methylcatechol also inhibited testosterone synthesis in TM3 Leydig cells. The inhibitory roles of this compound in relation to growth and testosterone synthesis in TM3 Leydig cells maybe associated with increased Bax gene expression and decreased mitochondrial activity. As a result, caspase cascade is activated.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of yeast with bacteriocin and Lactobacillus cultures (mixture of Lactobacillus agilis BCRC 10436 and Lactobacillus reuteri BCRC 17476) supplements, alone or in combination, on broiler chicken performance. METHODS: A total of 300, 1-d-old healthy broiler chickens were randomly divided into five treatment groups: i) basal diet (control), ii) basal diet+0.25% yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) (YC), iii) basal diet+0.25% yeast with bacteriocin (BA), iv) basal diet+Lactobacillus cultures (LAB), and v) basal diet +0.25% yeast with bacteriocin+Lactobacillus cultures (BA+LAB). Growth performance, cecal microbiota, cecal fermentation products, and blood biochemistry parameters were determined when chickens were 21 and 35 d old. RESULTS: The supplementation of YC, BA, and BA+LAB resulted in a significantly better feed conversion rate (FCR) than that of the control group during 1 to 21 d (p<0.05). The LAB supplementation had a significant effect on the presence of Lactobacillus in the ceca at 35 d. None of the supplements had an effect on relative numbers of L. agilis and L. reuter at 21 d, but the BA supplementation resulted in the decrease of both Lactobacillus strains at 35 d. The BA+LAB supplementation resulted in higher short chain fatty acid (SCFA) in the ceca, but LAB supplementation significantly decreased the SCFA at 35 d (p<0.05). All treatments tended to decrease ammonia concentration in the ceca at 21 d, especially in the LAB treatment group. The BA supplementation alone decreased the triacylglycerol (TG) concentration significantly at 21 d (p<0.05), but the synergistic effect of BA and LAB supplementation was required to reduce the TG concentration at 35 d. The YC supplementation tended to increase the plasma cholesterol at 21 d and 35 d. However, the BA supplementation significantly decreased the cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterol level at 35 d. In conclusion, the BA+LAB supplementation was beneficial to body weight gain and FCR of broiler chickens. CONCLUSION: The effect of BA and LAB supplementation may be a result of the growth of lactic acid bacteria enhancement and physiological characterization of bacteriocin, and it suggests that the BA and LAB supplementation level or Lactobacillus strain selection should be integrated in future supplementation designs.

Naïve CD4+T cell differentiates into either Th17 or Treg in the microenvironment of various cytokines, among that, Th17 is induced by TGF-ß and IL-6, while differentiates into Treg when there is only TGF-ß. As the mainly transcription factors of Th17 and Treg respectively, RORγt and Foxp3 have important role in maintaining balance of Th17/Treg. Th17 and Treg are function antagonistically, so the balance of Th17/Treg means a lot for human body. Liver-a metabolic organof the body, it is susceptible to factors in vivo and in vitro. From basal hepatis to end-stage malignancy, common liver diseases are mainly including viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, hepatocellualr carcinoma and parasitic disease of liver, besides, the occurrence and development of all the diseases are correlated to the balance of Th17/Treg.

Objective: To study the protective effect of N-acetylcysteine on acute lung injury induced by PFIB inhalation and its mechanism. Methods: Survival experiment: 48 male ICR (CD-1) mice were randomly divided into 4 groups, i. e., PFIB control group, NAC prevention group, NAC treatment group, and NAC prevention + treatment group, each group contains 12 animals. The mice of PFIB C group were exposed to PFIB without any treatment. The mice of NAC P group were exposed to PFIB 30min after NAC administration. The mice of NAC T group were exposed to PFIB 1h before NAC administration, The mice of NAC P+T group were administrated with NAC twice (30 min before and 1h after PFIB inhalation) . 150 mg/kg NAC was given by each time. The 7 days survival rate of mice after lethal dose PFIB exposure was observed. 18 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups i.e., normal control group (N-C) , PFIB control group (PFIB-C) and NAC prevention group (NAC-P) , with each group contains 6 animals in the second experiment. The rats of N-C group received no treatment. The rats of NAC-P group and PFIB-C group were exposed to PFIB 30min after treatment of NAC (420 mg/Kg, i.p.) and saline, respectively. The respiratory functions of animals were tested before and 24 h after PFIB inhalation. The arterial blood gas was analyzed after rats were anesthetized 24 hours post sublethal dose PFIB exposure. Then samples of BALF, plasma and lung tissue were collected. Wet lung/body weight ratio, protein and phospholipid content in BALF, and T-SOD, GSH, GSH-Px in plasma and lung tissue were measured. The expression of Peroxiredoxin 2 was detected by Westernblot assay. Results: NAC prevention can significantly improve the survival of mice exposed to a lethal dose PFIB while NAC treatment is ineffective. Severe lung edema was observed in rats 24 h after PFIB exposure. Compared to N-C group, the wet lung/body weight ratio, protein and phospholipid content in BALF, and respiratory rate of PFIB control group all increased significantly (P<0.01) . The arterial oxygen partial pressure (PaO(2)) reduced significantly (P<0.05) . The GSH-Px activity in lung tissue reduced significantly (P<0.01) while the expression of Peroxiredoxin 2 increased significantly (P<0.01) . NAC prophylaxis significantly reduced the wet lung/body weight ratio, protein and phospholipid content in BALF, respiratory rate of rats exposed to PFIB (P<0.01) . Compared with PFIB-C group, the PaO(2) (P<0.05) and the activity of GSH-Px (P<0.01) and the expression of Peroxiredoxin 2 in lung tissue (P<0.01) were increased significantly. Conclusion: Acute lung injury induced by PFIB inhalation is related to oxidative stress caused by the stimulation to lung. induced and pulmonary subjected to stimulate the generation of exposure, NAC prevention can regulation of the redox system in lung tissue and protect target organ of the treated animals effectively.

We conducted a case-control study to assess the role of the XRCC1 Arg399Gln, Arg280His, and Arg194Trp gene polymorphisms in pancreatic cancer susceptibility in a Chinese population. A total of 152 patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and 264 control subjects were enrolled in this study between March 2012 and October 2014. XRCC1 Arg399Gln, Arg280His, and Arg194Trp were genotyped using the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism method. As determined by the chi-squared test, a statistically significant difference was observed between pancreatic cancer patients and control subjects in regard to the genetic distribution of XRCC1 Arg399Gln (χ(2) = 16.13, P < 0.001). Using an unconditional regression analysis, we found that the TT genotype of Arg399Gln was associated with a significantly increased risk of pancreatic cancer (OR = 2.33, 95%CI = 1.20-4.51), and that the CT+TT genotype also significantly increased pancreatic cancer risk (OR = 1.58, 95%CI = 1.04-2.41), compared to the wild-type genotype. In conclusion, we found that XRCC1 Arg399Gln genetic variations are associated with pancreatic cancer development, whereas the XRCC1 Arg280His and Arg194Trp polymorphisms did not affect pancreatic cancer risk.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to explore the clinicopathological characteristics, diagnosis, multidiscipline therapy and prognosis of bilateral primary breast cancer (BPBC). METHODS: Clinical data of 133 patients with BPBC seen in Cancer Institute and Hospital of Tianjin Medical University from January 2005 to December 2008 were retrospectively analyzed and compared with those of 266 patients with unilateral primary breast cancer (UPBC). RESULTS: BPBC accounted for 2.08% of all breast cancer cases. Compared with UPBC, BPBC patients had earlier menarche, more postmenopause disease and fewer fertility(P<0.05). The T stage, pathological type, histological grade and tumor stage of the second tumor in BPBC patients were significantly different from those in UPBC cases (P<0.05). The ER and HER-2 status of both the two tumors in BPBC and the PR status of the second tumor in BPBC were also significantly different from those in UPBC(P<0.05). Besides, the menopause status when the first tumor happened and the lymph node metastasis status when the second tumor occurred were independent prognostic factors. There was no significant difference between the five-year disease free survival rates of UPBC and BPBC (79.3% and 72.8%, P>0.05), but the 5-year overall survival rates of UPBC and BPBC had significant difference(89.8% and 84.9%, P=0.02). CONCLUSIONS: The prognosis of UPBC and BPBC has significant differences. If the patient is premenopause when the first tumor occurs or had more than ten metastatic axillary lymph nodes in patient with the second one, she has a poorer prognosis. The pationts who underwent unilateral breast radical mastectomy have an increased risk of contralateral breast cancer. In order to have early detection, diagnosis and treatment, we should strengthen the follow-up of the high risk patients.

OBJECTIVE: To improve knowledge about the clinical and pathological features of diffuse alveolar hemorrhage (DAH). METHODS: Six cases DAH with intact clinical and pathological data were retrospectively analyzed during the period from May 1999 to May 2015 in Beijing Hospital. There were altogether 2 males and 4 females, with age ranging from 32 to 68 years (mean 58.8 years). Specimens were obtained by autopsy (3 cases), open lung biopsy (2 cases) and renal biopsy (2 cases), including 1 case of open lung biopsy in 2003, renal biopsy in 2012. RESULTS: Clinically, the patients presented with cough, shortness of breath and dyspnea, including 5 cases of hemoptysis, 4 cases of fever, 3 cases of skin and mucosa bleeding, 2 cases of gross hematuria, 2 cases of microscopic hematuria, 3 cases of renal functional impairment. A total of 5 cases had different levels of elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein, 6 cases had moderate anemia, hypoxemia, diffuse infiltrates with alveolar filling in chest CT. Serum antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody was positive in 3 cases, anti-glomerular basement membrane antibody was present in 1 case. Pathological diagnosis: 2 cases of Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), 2 cases of Microscopic polyangiitis (MPA), 1 case of Goodpasture syndrome, 1 case of pulmonary veno-occlusive disease (PVOD). PROGNOSIS: 3 cases died; 2 cases were discharged; 1 case received symptomatic treatment, follow-up after discharge. CONCLUSION: The mainly clinical characteristics of DAH are varied degree of dyspnea, anemia, hypoxemia, and extensive ground-glass opacification or consolidation in image, with or without haemoptysis; diffuse acute or chronic pulmonary hemorrhage in lung tissue is the main pathological feature.
