RESUMEN

USP25 encodes ubiquitin-specific proteases 25, a key member of deubiquitinating enzyme family and is involved in neural fate determination. Although abnormal expression in Down's syndrome was reported previously, the specific role of USP25 in human diseases has not been defined. In this study, we performed trio-based whole exome sequencing in a cohort of 319 cases (families) with generalized epilepsy of unknown etiology. Five heterozygous USP25 variants including two de novo and three co-segregated variants were determined in eight individuals affected by generalized seizures and/or febrile seizures from five unrelated families. The frequency of USP25 variants showed a significantly high aggregation in this cohort compared to the East Asian population and all populations in the gnomAD database. The mean onset ages of febrile and afebrile seizures were 10 months (infancy) and 11.8 years (juvenile), respectively. The patients achieved seizure freedom except one had occasional nocturnal seizures at the last follow-up. Two patients exhibited intellectual disability. Usp25 was ubiquitously expressed in mouse brain with two peaks on embryonic days (E14‒E16) and postnatal day 21, respectively. Similarly, USP25 expressed in fetus/early childhood stage with a second peak at approximately 12‒20 years old in human brain, consistent with the seizure onset age at infancy and juvenile in the patients. To investigate the functional impact of USP25 deficiency in vivo, we established Usp25 knock-out mice, which showed increased seizure susceptibility compared to wild-type mice in pentylenetetrazol-induced seizure test. To explore the impact of USP25 variants, we employed multiple functional detections. In HEK293T cells, the severe phenotype associated variant (p.Gln889Ter) led to a significant reduction of mRNA and protein expressions but formed a stable truncated dimers with increment of deubiquitinating enzyme activities and abnormal cellular aggregations, indicating a gain-of-function effect. The p.Gln889Ter and p.Leu1045del increased neuronal excitability in mice brain, with a higher firing ability in p.Gln889Ter. These functional impairments align with the severity of the observed phenotypes, suggesting a genotype-phenotype correlation. Hence, a moderate association between USP25 and epilepsy was noted, indicating USP25 is potentially a predisposing gene for epilepsy. Our results from Usp25 null mice and the patient-derived variants indicated that USP25 would play epileptogenic role via loss-of-function or gain-of-function effects. The truncated variant p.Gln889Ter would have profoundly different effect on epilepsy. Together, our results underscore the significance of USP25 heterozygous variants in epilepsy, thereby highlighting the critical role of USP25 in the brain.

Compared to other techniques, RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) has the advantage of having details of the expression abundance of all transcripts in a single run. In this study, we used RNA-Seq to monitor the maturity and dynamic characteristics of in vitro hepatocyte cultures. Hepatocytes, including mature hepatocytes and small hepatocytes, were analyzed in vitro using RNA-Seq and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). The results demonstrated that the gene expression profiles measured by RNA-Seq showed a similar trend to the expression profiles measured by qPCR, and can be used to infer the success of in vitro hepatocyte cultures. The results of the differential analysis, which compared mature hepatocytes against small hepatocytes, revealed 836 downregulated and 137 upregulated genes. In addition, the success of the hepatocyte cultures could be explained by the gene list screened from the adopted gene enrichment test. In summary, we demonstrated that RNA-Seq could become an effective method for monitoring the whole transcriptome of hepatocyte cultures and provide a more comprehensive list of factors related to the differentiation of small hepatocytes into mature hepatocytes. This monitoring system not only shows high potential in medical applications but may also be a novel method for the clinical diagnosis of liver-related diseases.

BACKGROUND: To evaluate the prognosis of acute cerebral infarction at 1-year follow-up in different circulation infarctions. METHODS: Clinical data of 858 consecutive patients with acute cerebral infarction were collected. Of the 858 cases, 21 (2.45%) were lost to follow-up and 837 completed follow-up and thus were enrolled in this study. At 1-year follow-up, death or moderate-to-severe dysfunction (modified Rankin Scale (mRS) ≥ 3 points) was regarded as the poor prognostic endpoint. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic stepwise regression analysis were performed to assess the prognosis. The prediction probability of indicators was obtained for the multivariate model, and the receiver operating characteristic curve was delineated to calculate the area under the curve (AUC) to predict the fitness of the model. RESULTS: The older the age, the greater the probability of a poor prognosis. Patients with previous diabetes and cerebral infarction had a poor prognosis. The higher the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale and mRS scores and the lower the Barthel index at admission, the worse the prognosis of the patients. The longer the hospital stay, the worse the prognosis of the patients. The prognosis of different circulation infarctions was different. The AUC of the multivariate model was AUC = 0.893, and the 95% confidence interval was 0.870-0.913, indicating a good fit. The prognosis of anterior circulation infarction (ACI) was worse than that of posterior circulation infarction (PCI) (P < 0.05). The prognosis of patients with ACI and PCI was not significantly different from that of patients with ACI or PCI alone (P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Diabetes, the Barthel index at admission and previous cerebral infarction are poor prognostic factors of acute cerebral infarction. The prognosis of ACI is worse than that of PCI. Different factors affect the prognosis of different circulatory system infarctions.

There are increasing concerns with regard to spontaneous abortion (SAB), the loss of pregnancy without external intervention before 20 weeks of gestation, among reproductive-aged women. To date, limited evidence is available concerning the association between SAB and air pollutants, especially in developing countries. Daily baseline outpatient data for SAB from January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2018 (1826 days) were obtained in Chongqing, a metropolis of southwest China. The over-dispersed Poisson generalized additive model with control of meteorological conditions and day of week was used to estimate the short-term effects of ambient air pollution on the daily number of SAB outpatients. A total of 42,334 SAB outpatient visits for SAB were recorded. No statistically significant association was observed between SAB and CO, PM2.5, PM10, O3, and SO2. The positive association only appeared for NO2: positive associations between SAB and NO2 were observed in both single-day models (lag 0, lag 1, lag 3, and lag 4) and cumulative exposure models (lag 01, lag 03, and lag 05) and the most significant effects were observed at lag 05 (3.289%; 95% CI: 1.568%, 5.011%). Moreover, the women with higher ages (30-39 and > 39) were more sensitive than those with lower ages (18-29), and the effect estimates were more evident in cool seasons. Collectively, our results suggested that short-term NO2 exposure was associated with higher risk of SAB, especially in elder women and cool seasons, which may contribute to further understand the role of air pollution on SAB and other adverse obstetric outcomes.

CONTEXT: Laurolitsine is an aporphine alkaloid and exhibits potent antihyperglycemic and antihyperlipidemic effects in ob/ob mice. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the pharmacokinetics, tissue distribution and excretion of laurolitsine. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A LC-MS/MS method was established and validated to determine laurolitsine concentrations in the biological matrix of rats (plasma, tissue homogenate, urine and faeces). 10 Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were used for plasma exposure study: 5 rats were injected with 2.0 mg/kg of laurolitsine via the tail vein, and the other 5 rats were administered laurolitsine (10.0 mg/kg) by gavage. 25 SD rats used for tissue distribution study and 5 SD rats for urine and faeces excretion study: rats administered laurolitsine (10.0 mg/kg) by gavage. After administered, serial blood, tissue, urine and faeces were collected. Analytical quantification was performed by a previous LC-MS/MS method. The pharmacokinetics, bioavailability, tissue distribution and excretion of laurolitsine were described. RESULTS: The pharmacokinetic parameters of oral and intravenous administration with Tmax were 0.47 and 0.083 h, t1/2 were 3.73 and 1.67 h, respectively. Oral bioavailability was as low as 18.17%. Laurolitsine was found at a high concentration in the gastrointestinal tract, liver, lungs and kidneys (26 015.33, 905.12, 442.32 and 214.99 ng/g at 0.5 h, respectively) and low excretion to parent laurolitsine in urine and faeces (0.03 and 1.20% in 36 h, respectively). CONCLUSIONS: This study established a simple, rapid and accurate LC-MS/MS method to determine laurolitsine in different rat samples and successful application in a pharmacokinetic study.

BACKGROUND: The effects of historical geology and climatic events on the evolution of plants around the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau region have been at the center of debate for years. To identify the influence of the uplift of the Tianshan Mountains and/or climatic oscillations on the evolution of plants in arid northwest China, we investigated the phylogeography of the Euphrates poplar (Populus euphratica) using chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) sequences and nuclear microsatellites, and estimated its historical distribution using Ecological Niche Modeling (ENM). RESULTS: We found that the Euphrates poplar differed from another desert poplar, P. pruinosa, in both nuclear and chloroplast DNA. The low clonal diversity in both populations reflected the low regeneration rate by seed/seedlings in many locations. Both cpDNA and nuclear markers demonstrated a clear divergence between the Euphrates poplar populations from northern and southern Xinjiang regions. The divergence time was estimated to be early Pleistocene based on cpDNA, and late Pleistocene using an Approximate Bayesian Computation analysis based on microsatellites. Estimated gene flow was low between these two regions, and the limited gene flow occurred mainly via dispersal from eastern regions. ENM analysis supported a wider distribution of the Euphrates poplar at 3 Ma, but a more constricted distribution during both the glacial period and the interglacial period. CONCLUSIONS: These results indicate that the deformation of the Tianshan Mountains has impeded gene flow of the Euphrates poplar populations from northern and southern Xinjiang, and the distribution constriction due to climatic oscillations further accelerated the divergence of populations from these regions. To protect the desert poplars, more effort is needed to encourage seed germination and seedling establishment, and to conserve endemic gene resources in the northern Xinjiang region.

RESUMEN

Raman spectroscopy is a spectroscopic analysis technique that enables rapid qualitative and quantitative detection based on inelastic collision and Raman scattering intensity. This review detailed the generation principle, instrument composition, influencing factors, and common classifications of Raman spectrum. Furthermore, it summarized and forecast the research progress of Raman spectroscopy in the field of drug analysis simultaneously over the past decade, including the identification of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), qualitative and quantitative studies of pharmaceutical preparations, detection of illicit drugs, the identification of Chinese herbal medicines, and the combination with other technologies. The development of Raman spectroscopy in other fields is additionally summarized.

Here, we reported our clinical application of ureterorenoscope (URS) and flexible URS lithotripsy in stone removal on 10 cases of excised living donor kidney graft. After the extraction of donor kidney by retroperitoneal laparoscopy, the donor graft was perfused with 4 °C HCA solution. Calculus between 2-4 mm were removed intact with lithotomy forceps under direct vision of URS. Larger calculi of >4 mm were fractured with flexible URS combining holmium laser lithotripsy. Fragments of the calculus were extracted with basket extractor and lithotomy forceps. All operations were successful. The operation time was 14-31 min (average 21.2 ± 6.3 min). The kidneys were then transplanted to the recipients using routine procedure. The transplanted kidneys functioned well after transplantation. Gross hematuria resolved 1-4 d after operation (average 2.6 ± 0.9 d). The transplanted kidneys functioned well without early complications such as functional recovery delay and acute graft rejection. The donors and recipients were followed for 12 months. The size of the transplanted kidneys was normal and new stones or urinary obstruction was not seen upon urinary color Doppler ultrasound examination. In conclusion, we believe it is feasible, safe and effective to use URS or flexible URS combining holmium laser lithotripsy on extracorporeal living donor kidney.

1 Hypothesis Disabled elders' activities of daily living, caregiver burden, caregiver depression, and caregivers' life satisfaction are significantly related to the life satisfaction of elderly people with disability. 2 Hypothesis There are direct and indirect effects between the life satisfaction of elders, disabled elders' activities of daily living, and family caregivers' factors. This study explored the interrelationships of disabled elders' life satisfaction and activities of daily living, caregivers' factors (burden, depression, and life satisfaction) through a structural equation model. In total, 621 dyads of disabled elders and informal family caregivers completed questionnaires during face-to-face interviews in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region from September 2013 to January 2014. Activity of daily living exerted a direct effect on life satisfaction of disabled elders and 30.4% indirect effect through caregivers' factors. Caregiver burden had a 60.0% direct effect on life satisfaction of disabled elders and a 40.0% indirect effect through the caregiver depression. Caregiver depression showed 76% direct effect on life satisfaction of disabled elders and 24% indirect effect through caregivers' life satisfaction. Direct relationships between activity of daily living and caregiver burden, caregiver burden and caregiver depression, and caregiver depression and caregivers' life satisfaction were observed. Activity of daily living had a 91.3% indirect effect on caregiver depression mediated by caregiver burden; caregiver burden had a 40.0% indirect effect on caregivers' life satisfaction mediated by caregiver depression. Results provide useful information for nurses and policymakers and shed light on the need to consider caregivers' factors in improving care recipients' life satisfaction.

East Asia has been hypothesized to be subdivided into two distinct northern and southern areas, separated by a band of dry climate that was far more severe in the early Tertiary but still exists today. However, this biogeographic hypothesis has rarely been tested using a molecular phylogeographic approach. We genotyped 70 populations throughout the distributional range of Asian butternuts (Juglans section Cardiocaryon) using eight chloroplast DNA regions, one single-copy nuclear gene, and 17 nuclear microsatellite loci, supplemented with paleodistribution modeling of the major genetic clades. The genetic data consistently identified two clades, one northern, comprising Juglans mandshurica and Juglans ailantifolia, and one southern, comprising Juglans cathayensis. The two clades diverged through climate-induced vicariance of an ancestral northern range during the mid-Miocene and remained mostly separate thereafter, with geographical isolation of the Japanese Islands and refugial isolation or secondary contacts in the late Pleistocene producing further subdivision within the northern clade. But beyond all that, we also discovered a role of environmental adaptation in maintaining and/or reinforcing the north-south divergence. Asian butternuts offer a strong case for the existence of a biogeographic divide between the northern and southern parts of East Asia during the Neogene and into the Pleistocene.

The past studies of postglacial recolonization patterns in high latitude regions have revealed a significant role of dispersal capacity in shaping the genetic diversity and population structure of temperate trees. However, most of these studies have focused on species with long-distance dispersal followed by exponential population growth and were therefore unable to reveal the patterns in the case of a gradual expansion. Here we studied the impacts of postglacial range expansions on the distribution of genetic diversity in the Manchurian walnut (Juglans mandshurica), a common tree of East Asian cool-temperate deciduous forests that apparently lacks long-distance seed dispersal ability. The genetic diversity and structure of 19 natural walnut populations in Northeast China and the Korean Peninsula were examined using 17 nuclear simple sequence repeat (SSR) loci. Potential habitats under current and past climatic conditions were predicted using the ecological niche modelling (ENM) method. Bayesian clustering analysis revealed three groups, which were inferred to have diverged through multiple glacial-interglacial cycles in multiple refugia during the Quaternary Period. ENM estimated a southward range shift at the LGM, but high suitability scores still occurred in the western parts of the Changbai Mountains (Northeast China), the Korean peninsula and the exposed seafloor of the Yellow Sea. In contrast to most other cool-temperate trees co-occurring in the same region, the Manchurian walnut did not show any evidence of a population bottleneck, loss of genetic diversity or isolation by distance during the postglacial expansion. Our study clearly indicates that current northern populations originated from one glacial lineage and recolonization via a gradually advancing front due to the lack of a long-distance seed dispersal mechanism led to no latitudinal decrease in genetic diversity.

We propose and experimentally verify a novel approach to achieve phase-coherence orthogonally polarized optical single sideband (OSSB) modulation with a tunable optically carrier-to-sideband ratio (OCSR). In our scheme, the orthogonally polarized OSSB signal is achieved using a dual-polarization quadrature phase shift keying (DP-QPSK) modulator without an optical band-pass filter (OBPF). Therefore, the proposed method is wavelength independent. The DP-QPSK modulator includes two parallel QPSK modulators locating on its two arms. The upper QPSK modulator of the DP-QPSK modulator is driven by two quadrature sinusoidal microwave signals and works at the frequency shifting condition whose bias voltages are optimized to suppress the optical. The lower QPSK modulator of that works at the maximum transmission point and the optical carrier is not modulated. The OCSR is continuously tunable by simply adjusting the bias voltages of the lower modulator. The frequency shifting optical signal from the upper QPSK modulator and the optical carrier from the lower QPSK modulator are combined together at the output of the DP-QPSK modulator. The optical carrier and sideband are polarized orthogonally. The generated OSSB signals could be used to shift and code the phase of the microwave signal and generate ultra-wideband (UWB) microwave pulse. The proposed method is analyzed and experimental demonstrated.

In East Asia, temperate forests are predicted to have retracted southward to c. 30° N during the last glacial maximum (LGM) based on fossil pollen data, whereas phylogeographic studies have often suggested glacial in situ survival of cool-temperate deciduous trees in their modern northern ranges. Here we report a study of the genetic diversity and structure of 29 natural Mongolian oak (Quercus mongolica) populations using 19 nuclear simple sequence repeat (nSSR) loci and four chloroplast DNA fragments. Bayesian clustering analysis with nSSRs revealed five groups, which were inferred by approximate Bayesian computation (ABC) to have diverged in multiple refugia through multiple glacial-interglacial cycles. Analysis of chloroplast DNA variation revealed four lineages that were largely but incompletely geographically disjunct. Ecological niche modelling (ENMs) indicated a southward range shift of the oak's distribution at the LGM, although high suitability scores were also evident in the Changbai Mts. (Northeast China), the Korean Peninsula, areas surrounding the Bohai Sea, and along the coast of the Russian Far East. In addition, endemic chloroplast DNA haplotypes and nuclear lineages occurred in high-latitude northern areas where the ENM predicted no suitable habitat. The combined evidence from nuclear and chloroplast DNA, and the results of the ENM clearly demonstrate that multiple northern refugia, including cryptic ones, were maintained across the current distributional range of the Mongolian oak during the LGM or earlier glacial periods. Though spatially limited, postglacial expansions from these refugia have led to a pattern of decreased genetic diversity with increasing latitude.

STUDY QUESTION: Does a defect in the human sperm-located protein prostate and testis expressed 1 (PATE1) exist in both aged men and young asthenozoospermia patients? SUMMARY ANSWER: A defect in sperm PATE1 exists in both aged men and young asthenozoospermia patients, and an antibody against PATE1 can decrease human sperm motility and zona-free hamster oocyte penetration. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY: Both aged men and young asthenozoospermia patients have poor sperm quality. The PATE1 protein seems to mediate sperm-egg interactions; however, the mechanisms are still unknown. STUDY DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION: This was a case-control study including 60 young fathers (aged 28-32 years) and 60 aged fathers (68-72 years old) who donated semen by masturbation after 7 days of sexual abstinence. Comparative sperm proteome analysis from the young fathers and aged fathers was performed to discover key proteins. The target protein PATE1 was chosen and validated by western blotting and immunohistochemistry. Quantitative assessment of sperm PATE1 protein was performed on sperm from 60 young fathers, 60 aged fathers and 110 young asthenozoospermia patients. Furthermore, an antibody against PATE1 assay was used to test whether PATE1 participated in sperm motility and penetration of zona-free hamster egg. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS: Samples were pooled and separated by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis followed by identification by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry. Western blotting and immunohistochemistry were used to validate the confidence of proteomic data. Sperm immunofluorescence quantification experiments disclosed whether the aged men indeed shared the same PATE1 defect with 110 young asthenozoospermia patients. The sperm motility test and penetration of zona-free hamster egg assay were performed for PATE1. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE: Twenty-two sperm proteins with significant differential expression between young adults and aged men were identified (P < 0.05, mean ratio >1.5), including 13 proteins with decreased expressions with aging. Based on bioinformatics, PATE1 was chosen for further study, and exhibited similar changes in expression level and localization on sperm from aged men and young asthenozoospermia patients. Antibody blocking revealed that PATE1 was involved in sperm-egg penetration and sperm motility. LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION: Before any clinical application of PATE1 as a biomarker for the diagnosis of male infertility, more cases should be used to evaluate confidence in this approach. WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS: This study revealed a common molecular basis underlying the decline in sperm quality in the natural aging process and in young men with asthenozoospermia. The data should greatly contribute to the development of molecular evaluation of sperm quality, and the diagnosis and treatment of asthenozoospermia. Plant phylogeographic studies in East Asia have provided support for the biogeographic hypothesis that the complex landforms and climate of this region have provided substantial opportunities for allopatric speciation. However, most of these studies have been based on maternally inherited chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) markers and were therefore unable to reveal the role of pollen-mediated gene flow in preventing population divergence. Here, we investigate the phylogeography of the Chinese walnut Juglans cathayensis, a temperate deciduous tree widely distributed across disjunct montane sites in subtropical China. We genotyped 19 populations using seven cpDNA fragments and ten nuclear microsatellite loci and modeled the ecological niche of J. cathayensis. CpDNA analysis identified a total of nine haplotypes, and each of the 19 sampled populations was fixed for a single haplotype, displaying a prominent phylogeographic structure. The results of ecological niche modeling indicated that J. cathayensis populations survived the last glaciation in situ, although they were probably more fragmented than today. In contrast, we detected a much weaker, but nonetheless clear, genetic structure based on nuclear microsatellite data. Our study demonstrates how extensive pollen flow can erase the genetic imprint of long-term refugial isolation in maternal lineages, effectively preventing population differentiation in temperate, particularly wind-pollinated, forest trees in subtropical China.

RESUMEN

We propose and demonstrate a photonic-assisted wideband 360° microwave phase shifter based on a conventional dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator (DMZM) and an optical bandpass filter (OBPF). The two arms of the DMZM are driven by the fundamental microwave signal to be phase shifted and its frequency doubled component, respectively. The OBPF followed after the DMZM is used to remove the optical carrier and the sidebands at either side of the optical carrier. As a result, only two sidebands corresponding to the fundamental microwave signal and its frequency doubled component, respectively, are left. Moreover, the phase shift between the two sidebands can be continuously tunable by adjusting the bias voltage of the DMZM. This phase shift is mapped to the fundamental microwave signal which is recovered by beating the two sidebands in a photodetector (PD). The proposed approach is theoretically analyzed and experimentally verified.

We report a novel approach to generating full-duty-cycle triangular waveforms based on a microwave photonic filter (MPF) with negative coefficient. It is known that the Fourier series expansion of a triangular waveform has only odd-order harmonics. In this work, the undesired even-order harmonics are suppressed by the MPF that has a periodic transmission response. A triangular waveform at fundamental frequency can be generated by setting the bias of a Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) at quadrature point. However, it is found that a broadband 90° microwave phase shifter has to be used after photodetection to adjust the phases of odd-order harmonics. Alternatively, a frequency doubling triangular waveform can be generated by setting the bias of the MZM at maximum or minimum transmission point. This approach is more promising because the broadband microwave phase shifter is no longer required in this case but it is more power consuming. The proposed approach is theoretically analyzed and experimentally verified.

We propose a novel approach to generating millimeter-wave (MMW) ultrawideband (UWB) signal based on nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) in a highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF). The MMW UWB signal is background-free by eliminating the baseband frequency components using an optical filter. The proposed scheme is theoretically analyzed and experimentally verified. The generated MMW UWB signal centered at 25.5 GHz has a 10-dB bandwidth of 7 GHz from 22 to 29 GHz, which fully satisfies the spectral mask regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

We propose and demonstrate a compact and cost-effective photonic approach to generate arbitrarily phase-modulated microwave signals using a conventional dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator (DDMZM). One arm (arm1) of the DDMZM is driven by a sinusoidal microwave signal whose power is optimized to suppress the optical carrier, while the other arm (arm2) of the DDMZM is driven by a coding signal. In this way, the phase-modulated optical carrier from the arm2 and the sidebands from the arm1 are combined together at the output of the DDMZM. Binary phase-coded microwave pulses which are free from the baseband frequency components can be generated when the coding signal is a three-level signal. In this case, the precise π phase shift of the microwave signal is independent of the amplitude of the coding signal. Moreover, arbitrarily phase-modulated microwave signals can be generated when an optical bandpass filter is attached after the DDMZM to achieve optical single-sideband modulation. The proposed approach is theoretically analyzed and experimentally verified. The binary phase-coded microwave pulses, quaternary phase-coded microwave signal, and linearly frequency-chirped microwave signal are experimentally generated. The simulated and the experimental results agree very well with each other.
