RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: With the widespread use of CDK4/6 inhibitors, the number of discontinuations and reductions due to adverse events is increasing. Therefore, we examined the risk of dose reduction, discontinuation, and occurrence of serious adverse events and death due to adverse events when CDK4/6 inhibitors are combined with endocrine drugs. METHODS: We searched English-language articles published up to February 10, 2024, using RR values (risk ratio) to indicate the risk of discontinuation, dose reduction, death, and the risk of serious adverse events. RESULTS: When CDK4/6 inhibitors were used in combination with endocrine drugs, abemaciclib resulted in the highest risk of discontinuation, dose reduction, and serious adverse events. Ribociclib caused the highest risk of death. CONCLUSION: When using CDK4/6 inhibitors in the clinical setting, a comprehensive evaluation should be performed to avoid dosage reductions and discontinuations and to choose the most appropriate treatment regimen.

BACKGROUND: The rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has been driven by the latest advances in computing power. Although, there exists a dearth of research on the application of AI in medical education. METHODS: this study is based on the TAM-ISSM-UTAUT model and introduces STARA awareness and chilling effect as moderating variables. A total of 657 valid questionnaires were collected from students of a medical university in Dalian, China, and data were statistically described using SPSS version 26, Amos 3.0 software was used to validate the research model, as well as moderated effects analysis using Process (3.3.1) software, and Origin (2021) software. RESULTS: The findings reveal that both information quality and perceived usefulness are pivotal factors that positively influence the willingness to use AI products. It also uncovers the moderating influence of the chilling effect and STARA awareness. CONCLUSIONS: This suggests that enhancing information quality can be a key strategy to encourage the widespread use of AI products. Furthermore, this investigation offers valuable insights into the intersection of medical education and AI use from the standpoint of medical students. This research may prove to be pertinent in shaping the promotion of Medical Education Intelligence in the future.

BACKGROUND: The incidence of autoimmune diseases and breast cancer is significantly higher in women compared to men. Previous observational studies have not conclusively determined the relationship between these two conditions. This study utilizes the Mendelian randomization approach to investigate the genetic association between autoimmune diseases and breast cancer. METHOD: Two-sample Mendelian randomization was conducted on a European population using the GWAS database. The inverse variance-weighted method served as the primary analytical approach. The MR-PRESSO test was applied to detect horizontal pleiotropy. To ensure result robustness, the FDR correction method was used. RESULT: The study revealed that Sjögren's syndrome lowers the overall risk of breast cancer (OR 0.96, 95% CI [0.93-0.99], p = 0.011). Idiopathic inflammatory myopathy shows a protective effect against overall breast cancer (OR 0.98, 95% CI [0.97-0.99], p = 0.035). An association was identified between rheumatoid arthritis and overall breast cancer (OR 0.98, 95% CI [0.96-1.00], p = 0.050). No causal link was found between systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, and overall breast cancer. The study also suggests that Sjögren's syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, and idiopathic inflammatory myopathy might reduce the risk of developing HER + breast cancer. Specifically, Sjögren's syndrome (OR = 0.90, 95% CI [0.83-0.98], p = 0.02), rheumatoid arthritis (OR = 0.94, 95% CI [0.91-0.98], p = 0.006), and idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (OR = 0.96, 95% CI [0.93-0.99], p = 0.036). Additionally, systemic lupus erythematosus was found to lower the risk of HER- breast cancer (OR = 0.95, 95% CI [0.91-0.99], p = 0.046). The study did not establish a causal relationship between these five autoimmune diseases and ER + or ER- breast cancer. CONCLUSION: This study found that autoimmune diseases may act as protective factors against breast cancer risk.
