RESUMEN

Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor), the fifth most important cereal crop globally, serves as a staple food, animal feed, and a bioenergy source. Paclobutrazol-Resistance (PRE) genes play a pivotal role in the response to environmental stress, yet the understanding of their involvement in pest resistance remains limited. In the present study, a total of seven SbPRE genes were found within the sorghum BTx623 genome. Subsequently, their genomic location was studied, and they were distributed on four chromosomes. An analysis of cis-acting elements in SbPRE promoters revealed that various elements were associated with hormones and stress responses. Expression pattern analysis showed differentially tissue-specific expression profiles among SbPRE genes. The expression of some SbPRE genes can be induced by abiotic stress and aphid treatments. Furthermore, through phytohormones and transgenic analyses, we demonstrated that SbPRE4 improves sorghum resistance to aphids by accumulating jasmonic acids (JAs) in transgenic Arabidopsis, giving insights into the molecular and biological function of atypical basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors in sorghum pest resistance.

Plants have evolved to deal with different stresses during plant growth, relying on complex interactions or crosstalk between multiple signalling pathways in plant cells. In this sophisticated regulatory network, Ca2+ transients in the cytosol ([Ca2+ ]cyt ) act as major physiological signals to initiate appropriate responses. The CALCINEURIN B-LIKE PROTEIN (CBL)-CBL-INTERACTING PROTEIN KINASE (CIPK) network relays physiological signals characterised by [Ca2+ ]cyt transients during plant development and in response to environmental changes. Many studies are aimed at elucidating the role of the CBL-CIPK network in plant growth and stress responses. This review discusses the involvement of the CBL-CIPK pathways in two levels of crosstalk between plant development and stress adaptation: direct crosstalk through interaction with regulatory proteins, and indirect crosstalk through adaptation of correlated physiological processes that affect both plant development and stress responses. This review thus provides novel insights into the physiological roles of the CBL-CIPK network in plant growth and stress adaptation.

OBJECTIVE: Drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) can have devastating consequences for patients and families. Vagal nerve stimulation (VNS) is used as a surgical adjunct for treating DRE not amenable to surgical resection. Although VNS is generally safe, it has its inherent complications. With the increasing number of implantations, adequate patient education with discussion of possible complications forms a critical aspect of informed consent and patient counseling. There is a lack of large-scale reviews of device malfunction, patient complaints, and surgically related complications available to date. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Complications associated with VNS implants performed between 2011 and 2021 were identified through a search of the United States Food and Drug Administration Manufacturer And User Facility Device Experience (MAUDE) data base. We found three models on the data base, CYBERONICS, INC pulse gen Demipulse 103, AspireSR 106, and SenTiva 1000. The reports were classified into three main groups, "Device malfunction," "Patient complaints," and "Surgically managed complications." RESULTS: A total of 5888 complications were reported over the ten-year period, of which 501 reports were inconclusive, 610 were unrelated, and 449 were deaths. In summary, there were 2272 reports for VNS 103, 1526 reports for VNS 106, and 530 reports for VNS 1000. Within VNS 103, 33% of reports were related to device malfunction, 33% to patient complaints, and 34% to surgically managed complications. For VNS 106, 35% were related to device malfunction, 24% to patient complaints, and 41% to surgically managed complications. Lastly, for VNS 1000, 8% were device malfunction, 45% patient complaints, and 47% surgically managed complications. CONCLUSION: We present an analysis of the MAUDE data base for adverse events and complications related to VNS. It is hoped that this description of complications and literature review will help promote further improvement in its safety profile, patient education, and management of both patient and clinician expectations.

Salinity stands as a significant environmental stressor, severely impacting crop productivity. Plants exposed to salt stress undergo physiological alterations that influence their growth and development. Meanwhile, plants have also evolved mechanisms to endure the detrimental effects of salinity-induced salt stress. Within plants, Calcineurin B-like (CBL) proteins act as vital Ca2+ sensors, binding to Ca2+ and subsequently transmitting signals to downstream response pathways. CBLs engage with CBL-interacting protein kinases (CIPKs), forming complexes that regulate a multitude of plant growth and developmental processes, notably ion homeostasis in response to salinity conditions. This review introduces the repercussions of salt stress, including osmotic stress, diminished photosynthesis, and oxidative damage. It also explores how CBLs modulate the response to salt stress in plants, outlining the functions of the CBL-CIPK modules involved. Comprehending the mechanisms through which CBL proteins mediate salt tolerance can accelerate the development of cultivars resistant to salinity.

We previously found that the levels of metabolite N-acetylglutamine were significantly increased in urine samples of patients with heart failure (HF) and in coronary artery ligation (CAL)-induced HF mice, whereas the expression of its specific metabolic-degrading enzyme aminoacylase-1 (ACY1) was markedly decreased. In the current study, we investigated the role of ACY1 in the pathogenesis of HF and the therapeutic effects of 20(S)-ginsenoside Rg3 in HF experimental models in vivo and in vitro. HF was induced in mice by CAL. The mice were administered Rg3 (7.5, 15, 30 mg · kg-1· d-1, i.g.), or positive drug metoprolol (Met, 5.14 mg · kg-1· d-1, i.g.), or ACY1 inhibitor mono-tert-butyl malonate (MTBM, 5 mg · kg-1 · d-1, i.p.) for 14 days. We showed that administration of MTBM significantly exacerbated CAL-induced myocardial injury, aggravated cardiac dysfunction, and pathological damages, and promoted myocardial fibrosis in CAL mice. In Ang II-induced mouse cardiac fibroblasts (MCFs) model, overexpression of ACY1 suppressed the expression of COL3A1 and COL1A via inhibiting TGF-ß1/Smad3 pathway, whereas ACY1-siRNA promoted the cardiac fibrosis responses. We showed that a high dose of Rg3 (30 mg · kg-1· d-1) significantly decreased the content of N-acetylglutamine, increased the expression of ACY1, and inhibited TGF-ß1/Smad3 pathway in CAL mice; Rg3 (25 µM) exerted similar effects in Ang II-treated MCFs. Meanwhile, Rg3 treatment ameliorated cardiac function and pathological features, and it also attenuated myocardial fibrosis in vivo and in vitro. In Ang II-treated MCFs, the effects of Rg3 on collagen deposition and TGF-ß1/Smad3 pathway were slightly enhanced by overexpression of ACY1, whereas ACY1 siRNA partially weakened the beneficial effects of Rg3, suggesting that Rg3 might suppress myocardial fibrosis through ACY1. Our study demonstrates that N-acetylglutamine may be a potential biomarker of HF and its specific metabolic-degrading enzyme ACY1 could be a potential therapeutic target for the prevention and treatment of myocardial fibrosis during the development of HF. Rg3 attenuates myocardial fibrosis to ameliorate HF through increasing ACY1 expression and inhibiting TGF-ß1/Smad3 pathway, which provides some references for further development of anti-fibrotic drugs for HF.

INTRODUCTION: Aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (aSAH) is a condition with significant morbidity and mortality. Traditional markers of aSAH have established their utility in the prediction of aSAH outcomes while frailty markers have been validated in other surgical specialties. We aimed to compare the predictive value of frailty indices and markers of sarcopaenia and osteopaenia, against the traditional markers for aSAH outcomes. METHODS: An observational study in a tertiary neurosurgical unit on 51 consecutive patients with ruptured aSAH was performed. The best performing marker in predicting the modified Rankin scale (mRS) on discharge was selected and an appropriate threshold for the definition of frail and non-frail was derived. We compared various frailty indices (modified frailty index 11, and 5, and the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program score [NSQIP]) and markers of sarcopaenia and osteopaenia (temporalis [TMT] and zygoma thickness), against traditional markers (age, World Federation of Neurological Surgery and modified Fisher scale [MFS]) for aSAH outcomes. Univariable and multivariable analysis was then performed for various inpatient and long-term outcomes. RESULTS: TMT was the best performing marker in our cohort with an AUC of 0.82, Somers' D statistic of 0.63 and Tau statistic 0.25. Of the frailty scores, the NSQIP performed the best (AUC 0.69), at levels comparable to traditional markers of aSAH, such as MFS (AUC 0.68). The threshold of 5.5 mm in TMT thickness was found to have a specificity of 0.93, sensitivity of 0.51, positive predictive value of 0.95 and negative predictive value of 0.42. After multivariate analysis, patients with TMT ≥ 5.5 mm (defined as non-frail), were less likely to experience delayed cerebral ischaemia (OR 0.11 [0.01 - 0.93], p = 0.042), any complications (OR 0.20 [0.06 - 0.069], p = 0.011), and had a larger proportion of favourable mRS on discharge (95.0% vs. 58.1%, p = 0.024) and at 3-months (95.0% vs. 64.5%, p = 0.048). However, the gap between unfavourable and favourable mRS was insignificant at the comparison of 1-year outcomes. CONCLUSION: TMT, as a marker of sarcopaenia, correlated well with the presenting status, and outcomes of aSAH. Frailty, as defined by NSQIP, performed at levels equivalent to aSAH scores of clinical relevance, suggesting that, in patients presenting with acute brain injury, both non-neurological and neurological factors were complementary in the determination of eventual clinical outcomes. Further validation of these markers, in addition to exploration of other relevant frailty indices, may help to better prognosticate aSAH outcomes and allow for a precision medicine approach to decision making and optimization of best outcomes.

BACKGROUND: Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases among children and adults and can lead to a high health and socioeconomic burden. Allergic rhinitis (AR) often precedes the development of asthma. This study aims to clarify the risk factors for cocurrent asthma in patients with AR in eastern China. METHODS: A cross-sectional study of 3739 patients with AR was performed in eastern China. Patients meeting the criteria for AR were evaluated using a skin-prick test (SPT) of 16 common aeroallergens. A logistic regression analysis was used to assess the risk factors of asthma in patients with AR. RESULTS: The prevalence of asthma in patients with AR was 14.23%. The patients sensitive to dust mites (D. farinae and D. pteronyssinus) had the highest prevalence (76.84% and 73.68%). A significant difference was found in sensitization to four types of allergens (D. farinae, D. pteronyssinus, dog dander, Alternaria alternata) in patients with AR with and without asthma. The strongest risk factor for asthma in patients with AR was an allergy to Aspergillus fumigatus (adjusted OR, 2.42; 95% CI, 1.50-3.90), followed by allergy to D. pteronyssinus (adjusted OR, 2.06; 1.30-3.27), and allergy to dog dander (adjusted OR, 1.92; 1.24-2.97). Various risk factors that are independently associated with asthma in patients with AR were found in different age groups. CONCLUSIONS: We observed a difference in risk factors in patients with AR with and without asthma. Clarifying the risk factors for asthma in patients with AR is important and may be beneficial to the optimal interventions of asthma.

In this study, low concentration of ferrous ions (Fe2+) was added into natural molybdenite (MDN) activated peroxymonosulfate (PMS) process to degrade a typical azo dye, orange G (OG). It was found that the addition of Fe2+ promoted OG degradation and simultaneously reduced the leaching of toxic Mo ions significantly. Further, the utilization efficiency of MDN was improved immensely, which was estimated from reuse experiment. MDN mainly acted as the reductant to promote cycling of Fe3+/Fe2+ redox couple through reducible sulfur and Mo(IV) on its surface. Sulfate radicals (SO4•-), hydroxyl radical (•OH) and singlet oxygen (1O2) were verified as the main reactive oxygen species responsible for OG degradation by scavenging tests and electron paramagnetic resonance. Some experiment parameters, such as MDN dosage, Fe2+ concentration, PMS concentration, initial solution pH and coexisting anion, all affected OG degradation efficiency. In a word, this work provides a new method of enhancing PMS activation by MDN using low concentration of Fe2+ for degradation of organic pollutants in water.

Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) is the primary causative agent of porcine circovirus-associated diseases in swine, the most common of which are postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) and porcine dermatitis and nephropathy syndrome (PDNS). To investigate the prevalence and genetic diversity of PCV2 in Hebei Province, Northern China, from 2016 to 2019, a total of 448 suspected cases of PCV2 infection were studied, and 179 samples were positive for PCV2. A pathological and histopathological examination suggested PCV2 to be cause of the observed lesions. Phylogenetic analysis showed that four genotypes were prevalent in Hebei Province: PCV2a, 2b, 2d, and 2e. Analysis of PCV2 strains using RDP4 and SimPlot showed that there were genetic recombination events among PCV2 strains in Hebei Province. A total of 3284 serum samples were screened by ELISA, and the positive rate of PCV2 antibodies was 73.9% (2428/3284). This study provides a scientific reference for the prevention and treatment of PCV2 in Hebei Province.

Chronic heart failure is a common and fatal disease triggered by loss of normal cardiac function. Yiqi Fumai Lyophilized Injection is widely used in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, especially chronic heart failure. In this study, a model of chronic heart failure in mice was established with permanent coronary artery ligation followed by Yiqi Fumai Lyophilized Injection intervention for 14 days. Then, the endogenous metabolites of mice plasma and urine samples were screened through nontargeted metabolomics techniques. The results indicated that Yiqi Fumai Lyophilized Injection treatment changed the metabolic pattern of chronic heart failure and regulated valine, leucine, and isoleucine biosynthesis, taurine and hypotaurine metabolism, histidine metabolism and arginine biosynthesis, etc. Finally, the cardioprotective mechanism of Yiqi Fumai Lyophilized Injection was further verified in the mouse model of chronic heart failure and angiotensin II-induced cardiac fibroblasts based on metabolomics. The results showed that Yiqi Fumai Lyophilized Injection could inhibit myocardial fibrosis to improve chronic heart failure. This study firstly elucidated the metabolic network and pathways regulated by Yiqi Fumai Lyophilized Injection, which might facilitate the realization of the clinically accurate application of Yiqi Fumai Lyophilized Injection in the treatment of chronic heart failure.

Natural chalcocite (NCC) was chosen as a co-catalyst for activation of persulfate (PS) to degrade organic contaminants in this study. A synergistic effect between NCC and ferrous ions (Fe2+) was found in catalyzing PS for degradation of orange G (OG). The main role of NCC in the NCC/Fe2+/PS system was to facilitate Fe3+ reduction back to Fe2+ and thus improve the stoichiometric efficiency of PS. The results of scavenging experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance tests proved that both sulfate and hydroxyl radicals were the primary reactive oxidants in the NCC/Fe2+/PS system. Twelve potential intermediate products of OG were identified, and the degradation pathway was proposed. Experiment parameters, such as NCC dose, Fe2+ concentration, initial pH, and the presence of anions (H2PO4‒ and Cl‒), all had important impacts on OG degradation. NCC had good reusability in synergistic activation of PS with Fe2+ for OG degradation for five cycles. This study demonstrated a natural sulfide mineral as an efficient co-catalyst towards PS activation for destruction of organic contaminants in water.

With its high infection rate, COVID-19 has swept the globe and brought great challenges to social life and economies. As an essential form of public transportation, the Beijing subway plays an important role in transportation systems. In traditional subway organizations, all one-sided doors of a train carriage are employed for passengers' alighting and boarding. A higher risk of COVID-19 infections may be attributed to inevitable bidirectional conflicts at doors with higher passenger volumes. Moreover, quantitative analyses for this problem and corresponding solutions are, limited in recent studies. In this research, conflicts at carriage doors are analyzed using a cellular automaton (CA) based model. Four schemes to separate alighting and passenger boarding into separate doors are investigated. The performances of different schemes with various alighting and boarding passenger ratios are simulated with the software package Legion Studio. Both macroscopic and microscopic parameters to characterize passenger conflicts are obtained for analysis. The separation of alighting and boarding passenger flows yields the desired reduction in bidirectional conflicts, which further limits the probability of infectious disease exposure. This is an important reference to improve current practices and provide specific measurements of passenger organization under abnormal situations.

Recently, metal-coordinated orthogonal self-assembly has been used as a feasible and efficient method in the construction of polymeric materials, which can also provide supramolecular self-assembly complexes with different topologies. Herein, a cryptand with a rigid pyridyl group on the third arm derived from BMP32C10 was synthesized. Through coordination-driven self-assembly with a bidentate organoplatinum(II) acceptor or tetradentate Pd(BF4)2•4CH3CN, a di-cryptand complex and tetra-cryptand complex were prepared, respectively. Subsequently, through the addition of a di-paraquat guest, linear and cross-linked supramolecular polymers were constructed through orthogonal self-assembly, respectively. By comparing their proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) and diffusion-ordered spectroscopy (DOSY) spectra, it was found that the degrees of polymerization were dependent not only on the concentrations of the monomers but also on the topologies of the supramolecular polymers.

Schizandrol A (SA) is an bioactive component isolated from the Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) Baill., which has been used as a remedy to prevent oxidative injury. However, whether the cardioprotective effect of SA is associated with regulating endogenous metabolites remains unclear, thus we performed comprehensive metabolomics profiling in acute myocardial ischemia (AMI) mice following SA treatment. AMI was induced in ICR mice by coronary artery ligation, then SA (6 mg·kg-1·d-1, ip) was administered. SA treatment significantly decreased the infarct size, preserved the cardiac function, and improved the biochemical indicators and cardiac pathological alterations. Moreover, SA (10, 100 M) significantly decreased the apoptotic index in OGD-treated H8c2 cardiomycytes in vitro. By using HPLC-Q-TOF/MS, we conducted metabonomics analysis to screen the significantly changed endogenous metabolites and construct the network in both serum and urine. The results revealed that SA regulated the pathways of glycine, serine and threonine metabolism, lysine biosynthesis, pyrimidine metabolism, arginine and proline metabolism, cysteine and methionine metabolism, valine, leucine and isoleucine biosynthesis under the pathological conditions of AMI. Furthermore, we selected the regulatory enzymes related to heart disease, including ecto-5'-nucleotidase (NT5E), guanidinoacetate N-methyltransferase (GAMT), platelet-derived endothelial cell growth factor (PD-ECGF) and methionine synthase (MTR), for validation. In addition, SA was found to facilitate PI3K/Akt activation and inhibit the expression of NOX2 in AMI mice and OGD-treated H9c2 cells. In conclusion, we have elucidated SA-regulated endogenous metabolic pathways and constructed a regulatory metabolic network map. Furthermore, we have validated the new potential therapeutic targets and underlying molecular mechanisms of SA against AMI, which might provide a reference for its future application in cardiovascular diseases.

Orange G (OG), a typical azo dye in textile wastewaters, has been the subject of intense investigations. This study investigated oxidative degradation of OG in aqueous solution by persulfate (PS) activated with pyrite. A complete destruction of OG was achieved within 60 min in the pyrite/PS system. Lower solution pH, smaller pyrite particles and higher pyrite dosage was beneficial for OG degradation. Higher PS concentration was also in favour of OG degradation, but excess PS would decrease the removal efficiency of OG. The addition of HCO3 - and H2PO4 - but Cl- had inhibitory effects on the destruction of OG. The results of quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance tests proved that SO4 •- and •OH were the dominant reactive species responsible for OG degradation in the pyrite/PS system. The azo bond, naphthalene ring and benzene ring of OG were all destroyed by the generated reactive species. The mineralization rate of OG reached 34.4% after 60 min of reaction. This work will provide information for understanding azo dye degradation by pyrite activated PS.

Damped least square method is one of the popular methods for automatic lens design. Various improvements in this automatic optical design are mainly due to the optimization of the damping factor and the weight factor. Especially in the four stages of lens design, designers pay more attention to the "correction" stage, and recognized the importance of human experience in "correction". The introduction of computer brought the feeling of indescribable about the balance aberration of computer. In fact, the function of computer has not gone beyond the range of balance aberration. In this paper, we discussed how to make the whole process of lens design completely automatic by computer, including the selection, correction and evaluation of the system. To achieve this process, the key step is how to make the computer think like a designer and select the type of lens. The success of lens design depends largely on the type selection. Designers who have a profound understanding of optical design theory and rich practical experience can select the simplest and most suitable one from a wide range of types, therefore, this method can also express a new global search method for optical design. Least squares is added to Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to optimize glass selection in optical system. After comparing and analysing the optimized design solutions, the system performance is well achieved. This method can be conveniently implemented and expands the solution space of the optical system.

Porcine bocavirus (PBoV), which belongs the genus Bocaparvovirus, has been identified throughout the world. However, serological methods for detecting anti-PBoV antibodies are presently limited. In the present study, an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (PBoV-rNP1 ELISA) based on a recombinant form of nucleoprotein 1 (NP1) of PBoV was established for investigating the seroprevalence of PBoV in 2025 serum specimens collected in north-central China from 2016 to 2018, and 42.3% of the samples tested positive for anti-PBoV IgG antibodies, indicating that the seroprevalence of PBoV is high in pig populations in China.

Porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) is a recently identified coronavirus that causes intestinal diseases in neonatal piglets with diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, and post-infection mortality of 50-100%. Currently, there are no effective treatments or vaccines available to control PDCoV. To study the potential of RNA interference (RNAi) as a strategy against PDCoV infection, two short hairpin RNA (shRNA)-expressing plasmids (pGenesil-M and pGenesil-N) that targeted the M and N genes of PDCoV were constructed and transfected separately into swine testicular (ST) cells, which were then infected with PDCoV strain HB-BD. The potential of the plasmids to inhibit PDCoV replication was evaluated by cytopathic effect, virus titers, and real-time quantitative RT-PCR assay. The cytopathogenicity assays demonstrated that pGenesil-M and pGenesil-N protected ST cells against pathological changes with high specificity and efficacy. The 50% tissue culture infective dose showed that the PDCoV titers in ST cells treated with pGenesil-M and pGenesil-N were reduced 13.2- and 32.4-fold, respectively. Real-time quantitative RT-PCR also confirmed that the amount of viral RNA in cell cultures pre-transfected with pGenesil-M and pGenesil-N was reduced by 45.8 and 56.1%, respectively. This is believed to be the first report to show that shRNAs targeting the M and N genes of PDCoV exert antiviral effects in vitro, which suggests that RNAi is a promising new strategy against PDCoV infection.

Optical superoscillatory imaging, allowing unlabelled far-field super-resolution, has in recent years become reality. Instruments have been built and their super-resolution imaging capabilities demonstrated. The question is no longer whether this can be done, but how well: what resolution is practically achievable? Numerous works have optimised various particular features of superoscillatory spots, but in order to probe the limits of superoscillatory imaging we need to simultaneously optimise all the important spot features: those that define the resolution of the system. We simultaneously optimise spot size and its intensity relative to the sidebands for various fields of view, giving a set of best compromises for use in different imaging scenarios. Our technique uses the circular prolate spheroidal wave functions as a basis set on the field of view, and the optimal combination of these, representing the optimal spot, is found using a multi-objective genetic algorithm. We then introduce a less computationally demanding approach suitable for real-time use in the laboratory which, crucially, allows independent control of spot size and field of view. Imaging simulations demonstrate the resolution achievable with these spots. We show a three-order-of-magnitude improvement in the efficiency of focusing to achieve the same resolution as previously reported results, or a 26 % increase in resolution for the same efficiency of focusing.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the outcomes of a magnesium alloy covered stent (MACS) for a lateral aneurysm model in common carotid artery (CCA). METHODS: In 32 rabbits, a MACS (group A, n = 17) or a Willis covered stent (WCS; group B, n = 15) was inserted and the rabbits were sacrificed 1, 3, 6, or 12 months after stenting. Angiography and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) were performed at 3, 6, and 12 months. Scanning electron microscopy was performed for six stents in each group at 1, 3, and 6 months, and histopathology and histomorphology were conducted at 3 (n = 4), 6 (n = 4), and 12 (n = 12) months. RESULTS: Final angiography showed complete occlusion of the aneurysms in 12 cases. IVUS at 6 and 12 months revealed a significant increase in mean lumen area of the stented CCA in group A and also showed greater mean lumen area in group A than in group B. The endothelialization process was quicker in group A than in group B. CONCLUSION: MACS is effective for occlusion of lateral aneurysms and is superior to WCS in growth of the stented CCA and endothelialization. Further work is needed to make this device available for human use. KEY POINTS: • The MACS is an effective approach for occlusion of a lateral aneurysm. • IVUS showed that the CCA could grow following degradation of the MACS. • The lumen area of the stented CCA was excellent in MACS. • HE staining displayed the degradation of the magnesium alloy stent. • Combination of IVUS and DSA were applied in this study.
