RESUMEN

As the aging continues, China has become the country with the largest older population. In order to ensure the well-being of older adults in their later years, the whole society is increasingly concerned about the mental health of older adults. In 2019, we conduct a questionnaire survey in Shaanxi Province. Stratified random sampling is used to select three representative cities, and 677 samples are selected from the survey results for research. By using the structural equation model, we aim to reveal the mechanism of leisure activities' influence on mental health of the older adults and verify whether social support and perceived stress play a mediating role. The study finds that the older adults' leisure activities have no significant direct impact on mental health. Social support has a significant mediating effect between leisure activities and mental health of the older adults. Leisure activities indirectly affect the mental health of the older adults through social support, and participation in leisure activities can improve the social support of the older adults, thus improving the mental health level of the older adults. Perceived stress plays a significant mediating role between leisure activities and mental health of the older adults. By participating in leisure activities, the perceived stress of the older adults will be reduced, thus improving their mental health. Social support and perceived stress play a sufficient mediating role in the influence of leisure activities on mental health.

RESUMEN

With the increase in aging in China, the health problems of older adults, especially mental health problems, have become a concern for the whole society. This article selected urban and rural older adults and analyzed the impact of social support on their mental health using a binary logistic model. It was found that under the current urban-rural dichotomy, the effects of social support on the mental health of urban and rural older adults are significantly different. In social support, first, the fairness and satisfaction with the social security system only had a significant effect on the mental health of urban older adults and had no significant effect on the rural older adults. Second, the closeness of contact with grassroots community workers had a significant impact on the mental health of older adults in urban and rural areas. From informal social support, the mental health of rural older adults was mainly influenced by the support of their children, reflecting the influence of the traditional culture of "filial piety". Furthermore, the mental health of urban older adults was mainly influenced by neighborhood support, reflecting the importance of "close neighbors are better than distant relatives". Based on the results of the empirical study, this article suggests that to promote the mental health of older adults, we should start by strengthening the formal social support system, establishing high-quality community service facilities, and emphasizing the role of informal social support.

RESUMEN

Oolong tea is famous for its characteristic of durably brewing. To explore suitable brewing cuppages and the scientific methods to brew Oolong tea in multiple steeping process. Dahongpao tea (Zhengyan, Banyan and Zhouyan tea) is well known Oolong tea variety, brewed at 14 times and assessed its chemical composition, infusion colour and sensory quality in different brewing intervals. The results showed that Zhengyan tea (A3) had the best quality of steeping among the chosen tea. It could be brewed up to 10 cuppages with 80% sensory score. The chemical composition and tea infusion colour strength were higher in Zhengyan tea. Though, 70% caffeine leached within first three steeping. The Forest regression model revealed that the suitable brewing time ranges between 4 and 10 in the chosen Dahongpao tea variety. This study provides a scientific method and suitable steeping times for the drinking of different Dahongpao tea through dynamic analysis of quantity of chemical composition, infusion colour strength and sensory quality.

RESUMEN

In the present work, a tubular nano-copper sulfide was successfully synthesized by hydrothermal method. The physical and chemical properties of the prepared materials were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, and BET. The synthesized copper sulfide was used as an adsorbent for removing 17α-ethynyl estradiol (EE2) and exhibited excellent adsorption properties. At 25 °C, 15 mg of adsorbent was applied for 50 mL of 5 mg/L EE2 solution, adsorption equilibrium was reached after 180 min, and the adsorption rate reached nearly 90%. In addition, the kinetics, isothermal adsorption, and thermodynamics of the adsorption process were discussed on the basis of theoretical calculations and experimental results. The theoretical maximum adsorption capacity of copper sulfide was calculated to be 147.06 mg/g. The results of this study indicated that copper sulfide was a stable and efficient adsorbent with promising practical applications.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Getting medical treatment is still difficult and expensive in western China. Improving the equity of basic health services is one of the tasks of the new healthcare reform in China. This study aimed to analyze the parallel and vertical equity of health service utilization of urban residents and then find its influencing factors. METHODS: In August 2011, a household survey was conducted at 18 communities of Baoji City by multi-stage stratified random sampling. Based on the survey data, we calculated a concentration index of health service utilization for different income residents and a difference index of different ages. We then investigated the influencing factors of health service utilization by employing the Logistic regression model and log-linear regression model. RESULTS: The two-week morbidity rate of sampled residents was 19.43%, the morbidity rate of chronic diseases was 21.68%, and the required hospitalization rate after medical diagnosis was 11.36%. Among out-patient service utilization, the two-week out-patient rate, number of two-week out-patients, and out-patient expense had good parallel and vertical equity, while out-patient compensation expense had poor parallel and vertical equity. The inpatient service utilization, hospitalization rate, number of inpatients, days stayed in the hospital, and inpatient expense had good parallel equity, while inpatient compensation expense had poor parallel equity. While the hospitalization rate and number of inpatients had vertical equity, the days stayed in hospital, inpatient expense, and inpatient compensation expense had vertical inequity. CONCLUSIONS: Urban residents' health was at a low level and there was not good health service utilization. There existed rather poor equity of out-patient compensation expense. The equity of inpatient service utilization was quite poor. Income difference and the type of medical insurance had great effects on the equity of health service utilization.
