BACKGROUND: Individual placement and support (IPS) is an evidence-based practice that helps individuals with mental illness gain and retain employment. IPS was implemented for young adults at a municipality level through a cross-sectoral collaboration between specialist mental healthcare, primary mental healthcare, and the government funded employment service (NAV). We investigated whether IPS implementation had a causal effect on employment outcomes for all young adults in receipt of a temporary health-related rehabilitation (work assessment allowance, WAA) welfare benefit, measured at the societal level compared to municipalities that did not implement IPS. METHOD: We used a difference in differences design to estimate the effects of IPS implementation on the outcome of workdays per year using longitudinal registry data. We estimate the average effect of being exposed to IPS implementation during four-years of implementation compared to ten control municipalities without IPS for all WAA recipients. RESULTS: We found a significant, positive, causal effect on societal level employment outcomes of 5.6 (p = 0.001, 95% CI 2.7-8.4) increased workdays per year per individual, equivalent to 12.7 years of increased work in the municipality where IPS was implemented compared to municipalities without IPS. Three years after initial exposure to IPS implementation individuals worked, on average, 10.5 more days per year equating to 23.8 years of increased work. CONCLUSIONS: Implementing IPS as a cross sectoral collaboration at a municipality level has a significant, positive, causal, societal impact on employment outcomes for all young adults in receipt of a temporary health-related rehabilitation welfare benefit.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the Estonian active labor market reform in 2016, which introduced a new policy concerning vocational rehabilitation services. As a research question, we investigate how such services may have affected the employment outcomes of people with mental and/or physical impairments. METHODS: Our sample includes 9244 people from 2016 to 2020, with a mean age of 46 years. Due to multiple entries to the services, we have more than 11,000 cases with over 100,000 monthly observations. We use propensity score matching in combination with fixed effects panel regressions to analyze how the completion of the scheduled rehabilitation plan affected monthly employment duration. RESULTS: Our findings indicate that completing the rehabilitation service results on average in 2.6 months longer post-rehabilitation employment, compared to matched individuals who discontinued the service. This effect was larger when already employed and male participants entered the service, while weaker effects were observed in the case of individuals with only mental disabilities. CONCLUSIONS: Overall, we conclude that while completing the scheduled rehabilitation plan has a positive effect on employment outcomes, still maintaining employment status seems to remain a challenge, based on the relatively modest effect sizes. Thus, we question the economic arguments behind the reform.

There were 9.7 million Native Americans (American Indian, Alaska Native-AI/AN- these acronyms will be used interchangeably with Native Americans throughout the paper) in 2019 comprising 2.9% of the U.S. population. Native American populations have disproportionately higher rates of mental illnesses compared to other racial groups in the U.S. Mental health is a significant public health concern for this population, impacting different areas of their lives including employment. Additionally, Native Americans continue to experience significant disparities in access to Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services and have poor employment outcomes. However, little is known about the relationships among demographic factors, vocational rehabilitation services, and employment outcomes of Native Americans with mental illness. Consequently, the current study examined how demographic factors and VR services are related to successful employment outcomes for Native American VR clients with mental illnesses using data from the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) program year (2019) Case Service Report (9-11). Both descriptive analysis and data mining approaches were used to answer the research questions. Chi-square Automatic Interaction Detector (CHAID) analysis was used to determine which of the VR services could best predict the successful employment outcome of Native Americans with mental illness. The findings of the data mining approach revealed that among all the vocational rehabilitation services, job placement assistance was the strongest predictor of successful employment among Native American clients with mental illnesses. The second most important service predicting successful employment for those who received job placement assistance was shown to be maintenance. Implications for rehabilitation counselors and future research are discussed.

BACKGROUND: Paid employment represents a challenge for people with an intellectual disability and/or autism. This paper analyses the quality of jobs offered by the Engage to Change project and their relationship to the 'typicalness' of the employment offered. METHOD: Data on the quality of 384 paid jobs were collected, including hours worked and wages earned, and reported social integration at work. The typicalness of the employment experience was assessed for 141 young people, using the Index of Typicalness of Placement Questionnaire. RESULTS: The Engage to Change project offered a wide range of jobs. There is no difference in the typicalness of the employment experience in relation to the interactions in the workplace, but there are some differences in the recruitment process for men and women. CONCLUSION: Job coaches should make sure that, despite the procedures being 'atypical' for the workplace, the outcome is 'a typical employment experience' for each employee.

Individual Placement and Support (IPS) has been shown to effectively help people with serious mental illness obtain competitive employment, and IPS programs have been established in over 40 U.S. states and at least 20 other countries. As this expansion continues, the field needs data describing IPS implementation, clients, fidelity, and outcomes in real-world, non-research settings, specifically regarding racial and ethnic disparities and young adults. The goal of this study was to observe the initial three years of IPS implementation, measuring fidelity, client characteristics, and employment outcomes in three mental health agencies in one California county. In 2018, officials in one California county contracted with the IPS Center to provide training and measure IPS program fidelity at three mental health agencies in a large urban area. The goal was to establish and maintain IPS programs with good fidelity and effectiveness. After an initial year of preparation, three mental health programs recruited unemployed clients with interest in employment and implemented IPS. An IPS trainer provided initial training, ongoing consultation, and measured program fidelity. The program clinicians documented client characteristics, IPS service use, and quarterly employment throughout 13 quarters. The project followed 351 mental health clients as they participated in three new supported employment programs over a three-year period. The average client age was 36 years, including 107 (31%) young adults (ages 18-25) and 244 older adults (ages 26+); 177 (50%) identified their gender as female, 173 as male, and 1 as other or declined to answer; 119 (36%) identified as Hispanic, 116 (35%) as non-Hispanic White, 42 (13%) as non-Hispanic Asian, 35 (11%) as non-Hispanic Black, and 20 (6%) as other non-Hispanic. Most clients (78%) had diagnoses of non-psychotic conditions such as anxiety or depression, and 22% had diagnoses of schizophrenia, schizoaffective, or other psychotic disorder. During the project, 312 (87%) engaged in supported employment services, 206 (58%) attained competitive employment, and 177 (50%) found their first job within nine months of enrolling. Hispanics (64%), Asians (57%), and non-Hispanic Blacks (77%) achieved higher employment rates than non-Hispanic Whites (49%). Young adults (73%) achieved higher employment rates than older adults (51%). Engaging in new IPS supported employment programs over several months led to high rates of competitive employment across all groups in real-world, non-research settings, typically within nine months. Hispanics, Asians, and non-Hispanic Blacks achieved higher rates of competitive employment than non-Hispanic Whites, and young adults achieved higher rates than older adults. Further research may explain these differences.

Purpose Common mental disorders have a severe impact on society and individuals; rates of unemployment and disability pensions are high. Knowing which factors facilitate or hinder people's return to work is important when designing effective vocational rehabilitation interventions. Methods We conducted secondary analyses on data from 289 participants with depression or anxiety included in the Individual Placement and Support modified for people with mood and anxiety disorders (IPS-MA) trial. Associations of baseline characteristics and employment or education after 24 months were tested in univariate logistic regression analyses, variables with a p-value below 0.1 were included in multivariate analyses. Results In the univariate analyses, self-reported level of functioning (p = 0.032), higher age (p = 0.070), and higher level of readiness to change (p = 0.001) were associated with the outcome and included in the multivariate analysis. Only age (p = 0.030) and readiness to change (p = 0.003) remained significantly associated with return to work or education after 24 months in the multivariate analysis. Conclusion Higher age and lower readiness to change were associated with a lower chance of having returned to work or education. Factors modifying the effect of higher age should be identified, just as vocational rehabilitation should focus on improving factors related to people's readiness to change.

INTRODUCTION: Although employment is an important part of recovery for individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders, the employment rate for this group remains low. Increasing evidence supports the use of augmented vocational rehabilitation (VR) programs to improve occupational outcome. The aim of this study is to explore 5-year follow-up registry data from the JUMP study, a VR program for individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders, specifically with regard to competitive employment outcome and predictors of competitive employment. The VR was augmented with either cognitive remediation (CR) or elements from cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). METHODS: One hundred and forty eight participants with schizophrenia spectrum disorders from six Norwegian counties received 10 months VR augmented with either CR (n = 64) or CBT (n = 84). Both competitive and sheltered workplaces were used. Assessments were conducted at baseline, at post intervention and at 2-year follow-up. Data on employment status at 5-year follow-up was obtained by registry. RESULTS: At 5-year follow-up 55.4% were engaged in working activity, of which 22.3% had obtained competitive employment. A further 18.2% had work placements in competitive workplaces. Number of received intervention hours and competitive employment at 2-year follow-up emerged as significant predictors of competitive employment. IQ and intervention type in marginal favor of CBT were predictors on trend level. CONCLUSION: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study investigating competitive employment at 5-year follow-up for individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. The results add to existing evidence that competitive employment is attainable for this group.

Semi-structured interviews were conducted with nine Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment specialists who expanded and enhanced the IPS model for the youngest of working age youth with mental health conditions (ages 16-21). Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 100% of the providers delivering IPS-based career services for high school aged youth during an exploratory pilot. Content coding was applied to interview transcripts. Findings reflect the complexities of providing career services to high school age youth, suggesting components needed for effective services. These components include: provision of supports that help youth complete high school and negotiate the transition to college, coaching and skill development to improve executive functioning for work and school, coping skills coaching for mental health symptoms, flexible engagement strategies that assure youth self-determination of goals, longer range career and goal planning, and close collaboration with families.

The Clubhouse model of psychosocial rehabilitation provides several employment opportunities to individuals who experience mental health concerns, including transitional, supported, and independent employment. The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in Clubhouses having to adapt existing programs to online formats. Employment programs were further impacted, as many workplaces in the community closed or reduced capacity. The present study aimed to examine the rates of involvement in transitional, supported, and independent employment across six Clubhouses in Canada throughout the pandemic. 462 members completed surveys at five time points pertaining to participation in Clubhouse employment programs. The data was analyzed using Cochran's Q tests to determine differences in employment rates across time points. The results demonstrated an overall decrease in transitional and supported employment rates throughout the pandemic. Conversely, rates of independent employment were unchanged. It is evident that Clubhouse employment programs assist members in obtaining employment. The results suggest Clubhouses may benefit from exploring novel employment opportunities to support their members, such as remote work.

OBJECTIVE: Test an intervention for individuals with schizophrenia at an Adult Inpatient Unit with employment and social inclusion goals, compared to treatment as usual. METHOD: A single-blind, randomised, controlled trial assigned 25 participants to treatment as usual and 26 participants to receive an Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Disability Employment Service (DES) information pack and an offer of support from a nurse. Outcomes were measured at 6 and 12 months using Job Acquisition, IPS DES employment provider, Activity Participation Questionnaire-Revised, Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale, and Adult Hope Scale questionnaires, and Digit Span and Trail Making tests. RESULTS: The intervention did not result in significant contact with the DES employment provider or paid employment outcomes. Secondary outcomes from combining groups due to high attrition rates: A significant proportion of participants obtained unpaid work from baseline to 6 months follow-up (N = 24, p = 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The 'light touch' intervention did not promote change. More support is required during inpatient admissions and after discharge to assist people with schizophrenia achieve their vocational goals.

BACKGROUND: People with an intellectual disability and/or autism experience low employment rates compared to the general population. This study shows what the determinants of success are in getting this group of young people into paid employment. METHOD: The research is based on data collected on 1008 young people, aged 16-25, participating in the Engage to Change project across Wales, to support young people to achieve employment. A real-time data collection system was used from their engagement and throughout their journey to employment. RESULTS: This research indicates an overall employment rate of 23% for the project to date, based on total referral. Young people who engaged in 'significant work experience', such as paid placement or supported internship, had a greater employment rate of 37%. CONCLUSION: Previous and current real work experiences increased the chances of young people of becoming employed, above the effect of supported employment and job coach support.

BACKGROUND: Deinstitutionalization research shows better services and outcomes relative to institutional life but has not compared formerly institutionalised and never-institutionalised service users. METHODS: We used propensity score matching (PSM) to match formerly institutionalised and never-institutionalised participants on six personal characteristics. Data came from the 2018 to 2019 National Core Indicators In-Person Survey. We excluded current institution residents, and states with 25% + of missing data on former institutionalisation. RESULTS: Overall, 15.5% of participants in the 29-state full sample had lived in an institution for 1 year or more. Findings from the PSM sample showed that former-institution residents were more likely to use congregate living arrangements and less likely to live with family. They experienced more loneliness, less support-related choice, and had a consistent pattern of disability service-focused social connections. CONCLUSIONS: Many former institution residents remain disadvantaged relative to matched peers. There is a need to identify factors to enhance services and outcomes following deinstitutionalization.

PURPOSE: Striking evidence supports the effectiveness of supported employment (SE) in achieving competitive employment in individuals with mental health problems. Yet, little is known whether SE is effective to maintain employment in individuals at risk of job loss. We aimed to descriptively compare SE for employed clients (SE-retention) and unemployed clients (SE-integration) regarding competitive employment. METHODS: We used administrative data from January 2017 to October 2021 provided by a vocational rehabilitation center in Switzerland including all individuals (≥ 18yrs.) with mental health problems who participated either in SE-retention or SE-reintegration. The outcome was the proportion with competitive employment at discharge. Logistic regression was used to assess time trends and to descriptively compare SE-treatments. We used propensity score weighting, including personal, clinical and program-specific information to reduce group differences. RESULTS: A total of 556 participants primarily diagnosed with mood/stress-related, schizophrenia and personality disorders were included (n = 297 SE-retention, n = 259 SE-reintegration) with median age 41 years and 57% female gender. The overall weighted comparison favored SE-retention over SE-reintegration OR 4.85 (95%-CI 3.10 to 7.58, p < 0.001) with predicted employment of 67.3% and 29.9% for SE-retention and SE-reintegration, respectively. While success for SE-reintegration remained stable over time, SE-retention showed an increase in more recent years. CONCLUSION: SE-retention provides an approach for early work-related support that can prevent labor market exclusion. In contrast, reintegration is likely to require more efforts to achieve employment and may result in less favorable outcomes. It is therefore necessary that further research includes appropriate comparison groups to evaluate the effectiveness of SE-retention programs as well as the economic and individual benefits.

Young adults with mental health conditions want to work and advance their education, but many need help attaining these goals. Individual Placement and Support (IPS), originally developed for working-age adults with serious mental illness, is an evidence-based employment model that may benefit young adults. This study is the first systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of IPS for this population. We conducted a systematic review of the effectiveness of IPS for young adults with mental health conditions, supplementing our electronic search of the published literature with secondary analyses of two published RCTs. Using meta-analysis, we evaluated employment rate, job duration, and education rate. Seven studies met the inclusion criteria. Four evaluated IPS for young adults with early psychosis and three evaluated IPS for other young adult subgroups. All found a significantly higher employment rate for IPS than the control group. Overall, 208 (58.3%) of 357 IPS participants and 110 (32.4%) of 340 control participants were competitively employed during follow-up, yielding an overall risk ratio of 1.69 (95% CI 1.43, 1.99), z = 6.24, p < 0.001. Six of the seven studies also reported longer job duration for IPS than the control group, yielding an overall g = 0.34 (95% CI 0.09, 0.58), z = 2.72, p < 0.01. None of four RCTs examining education outcomes found a significant difference favoring IPS, but the overall risk ratio was significant: 1.33 (95% CI 1.06, 1.66), z = 2.51, p < 0.01. Although the empirical literature is limited, IPS appears to be effective in helping young adults with serious mental illness or early psychosis gain and keep competitive jobs. The impact of IPS on education outcomes is unclear. Future research should evaluate the generalizability of these findings to the broad range of young adults with mental health conditions needing help with their employment goals.

Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is a long-standing and innovative employment service for individuals with mental illness with dozens of clinical trials demonstrating effectiveness. Little is known, however, about intentional adaptations to IPS, especially those outside of the context of research studies. Using an implementation science framework, we conducted an exploratory study to better understand the characteristics of stakeholder-reported adaptions to IPS, the impetus for their development, and perceived impacts. We conducted qualitative interviews to analyze and describe these adaptations. Numerous adaptations of IPS were found that address the needs of new and underserved populations both within and outside of the mental health field. Programs reported adapting IPS because of the dearth of other evidence-based employment services, to serve diverse populations in need, and based on financial incentives. Benefits of adaptations were weighed against impacts on fidelity. As evidence-based practices (EBPs) are adapted, developers of EBPs should determine how fidelity of a program or service can be assessed or preserved in light of adaptations. This is critical with the increase in different service delivery methods, new populations, new service recipient needs, and new settings in need of EBPs.

OBJECTIVES: Although complex pain conditions require an interdisciplinary approach, employment services are rarely provided in pain centers. Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an effective approach to increase work participation among patients with severe mental illness, and recent evidence suggests that this method can be successfully repurposed for new target groups. We aimed to investigate the effectiveness of IPS integrated with interdisciplinary treatment as usual (TAU) for patients with chronic pain in a tertiary pain center. METHODS: A randomized controlled trial comparing IPS integrated with TAU (n = 38) with TAU alone (n = 20) was conducted. Participants were patients with chronic pain who were 18-65 years of age and currently on long-term sick leave or disability benefits or unemployed. The primary outcome was employment within 12 months after enrollment, with additional long-term follow-up after 24 months. Secondary outcomes included health and quality of life, measured at baseline, 6 months, and 12 months. RESULTS: During 12-month follow-up, 52.8% in the IPS group and 38.9% in the TAU group had attained employment. The difference increased during 24-month follow-up but did not reach statistical significance. Findings on secondary outcomes were generally nonsignificant. CONCLUSIONS: The IPS in Pain trial is the first study to evaluate the effect of IPS for patients with chronic pain conditions. It shows that IPS can be integrated into the daily practice of interdisciplinary pain treatment, with employment rates exceeding 50% in 1 year and a clear trend in favor of the IPS group. Results did not, however, reach significance. Larger randomized controlled trials are needed to draw clear conclusions about effectiveness.

BACKGROUND: People with mental disorders are far more likely to be unemployed than the general population. Two internationally recognized, evidence-based models of interventions for employment for people with severe mental health problems are Individual Placement Support and the Clubhouse. In Italy, a common model is the 'social enterprise' (SE), which is a programme run by non-profit organisations that help individuals with disabilities to be employed. Despite SEs spread and relevance in Italy, there are no studies about Italian samples. This paper reports on a pilot evaluation of psychosocial and work outcomes of a SE based in Verona, Italy. The study aims to investigate if people with SMI involved in SE job placements may achieve personal recovery and better outcomes over time, and in comparison with a comparable group of users. METHODS: This is a pilot descriptive study with three components. A longitudinal design that comprised a functioning description of 33 SE members with a psychiatric disability in two time-points (when they joined the SE-on average 5 years before the study recruitment, and at the study recruitment-year 2018); and a repeated collection of job details of the 33 members in three time points: 2 years before the recruitment,-year 2016; 1 year before the recruitment - year 2017; and at the recruitment-year 2018. An assessment at the recruitment time-year 2018, of SE users' satisfaction with the job placement, symptoms, functioning, and quality of life (QoL). A cross-sectional study that compared the 33 SE members at the recruitment time-year 2018, with a matched group of people with the following criteria: living in local supported accommodations, being unemployed and not SE members. The two groups were compared on ratings of psychopathology, functioning, and QoL. Descriptive analyses were done. RESULTS: At the recruitment time - year 2018, all SE participants showed a significant better functioning (p < 0.001) than when they joined the SE-when they had been employed for an average of 5 years. In comparison to the matched group, SE members had significantly better functioning (p = 0.001), psychopathology (p = 0.007), and QoL (p = 0.034). According to their SE membership status, participants comprised trainees (21.2%) and employee members (78.8%). Trainees compared to employees had lower autonomies, functioning, QoL and more severe psychopathology. Over the two years prior to study recruitment, trainees showed stable poor autonomies, while employee members showed a variation from average autonomies in the 2 years before the recruitment time - year 2016, to good ones at the recruitment time - year 2018. Over the two years, all SE members set increasing numbers of objectives in all three domains. All SE participants reported high levels of satisfaction with all aspects of the job placement. CONCLUSIONS: SE that provides tailored support to assist people to gain employment skills may be an effective component in helping recovery from SMI.

BACKGROUND: Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an evidence-based, effective approach to help people with severe mental illness (SMI) obtain and maintain competitive employment. The aim of the present study was to examine employment outcomes and associations with an organizational and a financial factor in people with SMI who participated in Individual Placement and Support using a multifaceted implementation strategy (IPS + MIS). The goal of this strategy was to improve IPS implementation by enhancing collaboration among mental health care and vocational rehabilitation stakeholders, and realizing secured IPS funding. METHODS: An observational cohort study including 103 participants was conducted, with a 30-month follow-up. Descriptive analyses were used to examine employment outcomes. Multivariable logistic and linear regression analyses were performed to study associations with an organizational and a financial factor: the level of experience of mental health agencies with providing IPS + MIS and the type of IPS funding (i.e. municipality funding (reference group) and the Dutch Social Security Institute: the Institute for Employee Benefits Schemes (UWV) funding). RESULTS: Forty-six percent of the participants were competitively employed at any time during the 30-month follow-up; the median number of days until competitive job obtainment and in competitive jobs was 201 and 265, respectively. The majority of all jobs obtained (81%) were categorized as 'elementary occupations', 'clerical support workers', and 'service and sales workers'. A higher level of experience of the mental health agencies with providing IPS + MIS was found to be positively associated with job obtainment (OR = 3.83, 95% CI 1.42-10.30, p = 0.01) and the number of days worked in competitive jobs (B = 1.21, 95% CI 0.36-2.07, p = 0.01). UWV funding was found to be negatively associated with job obtainment (OR = 0.30, 95% CI 0.11-0.77, p = 0.01). No association was found for the type of IPS funding and the number of days worked in competitive jobs (B = -0.73, 95% CI -1.48-0.02, p = 0.06). CONCLUSIONS: This study shows that almost half of the people who participate in IPS + MIS obtain a competitive job within 30 months. The results further suggest that both the level of experience of mental health agencies with providing IPS + MIS, and funding may play a role in employment outcomes.

BACKGROUND: To explore the relative impact of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) in patients with personality disorders (PDs) as compared to patients with other mental disorders. METHODS: Data from the Dutch Employee Insurance Agency of participants enrolled in a national IPS trajectory between 2008 and 2018 were linked to corresponding data on employment outcomes, diagnostic and sociodemographic information from Statistics Netherlands. This resulted in a sample of 335 participants with PDs who could be compared with 1073 participants with other mental disorders. RESULTS: Participants with PD just as often found competitive employment as participants with other mental disorders (37.6% vs. 38.0%, ORadjusted = 0.97, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.74 to 1.27). The median time to gaining employment for those gaining employment (37.9%) was 195.5 days (mean number of days 252.5) in the PD group and 178.5 days (mean number of days 234.6) in the other mental disorders group (HRadjusted = 0.95, 95% CI 0.77 to 1.18). Also, total number of hours paid for competitive employment did not differ significantly between groups (median hours 686.5 vs 781.5, IRRadjusted = 0.85 95% CI 0.69 to 1.05). CONCLUSIONS: Based on this study, which includes the largest sample of patients with PDs in any published IPS study, IPS seems to result in an equal percentage of patients with PDs and other mental disorders, gaining and maintaining employment. Although future studies should determine whether PD-specific adaptations to IPS are useful, our findings indicate that IPS could be an effective way to increase employment outcomes in PDs. This is important because the enormous societal costs of PDs are largely driven by loss of economic productivity, and because clinical recovery in PDs is suggested to be enhanced when patients are employed.

ABSTRACT: Deficits in metacognitive capacity are common among people with serious mental illness (SMI), although there is a gap in knowledge regarding how these impairments predict later functioning, especially employment. This study aimed to prospectively examine the relationship between metacognitive capacity and 6-month competitive employment attainment in adults with SMI who were participating in a study testing a cognitive behavioral therapy intervention added to supported employment services. Sixty-seven participants with complete data at baseline and the 6-month follow-up comprised the sample. Data were analyzed using stepwise logistic regression covarying for work history and study assignment. Results indicate that total metacognitive capacity at baseline significantly predicted employment acquisition at 6 months; the final model correctly classified 83.3% of participants who obtained work. In conclusion, these findings suggest that better overall metacognitive capacity may be key for future work functioning. Thus, interventions that target metacognitive capacity may lead to enhancements in community outcomes.
