ABSTRACT
Atypical fibroxanthoma is a mesenchimal tumour that isconsidered a superficial variant of malignant fibrous histiocytomaassociated with a good prognosis. Among therarest variants is the clear-cell atypical fibroxanthoma, thatshould be differentiated from other clear-cell neoplasms ofthe skin and in particular cutaneous metastasis from neoplasmsfrom internal organs, including renal cell carcinoma. We hope to alert pathologists to this distinctive and unusualneoplasm to avoid under- or over-diagnosis and inappropriatetherapy (AU)
