Sexual healthcare experiences of nonbinary young adults.

Nonbinary young adults (who do not identify with a binary male or female identity and may hold diverse gender identities, including genderqueer, nonbinary and agender) may have unique and unmet sexual healthcare needs compared to binary transgender and cisgender people. However, there is limited knowledge about the sexual health and healthcare needs of nonbinary young adults. We conducted 19 semi-structured, in-depth interviews between August and November 2018 with nonbinary people aged 18-30 years in New England. Interview topics included experiences accessing sexual healthcare and engaging in sexual activity. Interviews were transcribed and transcripts were analysed using inductive and deductive thematic analysis. Three main themes were identified. First, participants described barriers to accessing high-quality sexual healthcare at both the interpersonal and institutional level. Second, participants employed strategies to meet their sexual healthcare needs despite encountering barriers. Third, participants articulated the ways nonbinary gender identities affect sexual relationships, with implications for sexual health. These findings underscore the need for research and advocacy - in collaboration with nonbinary persons themselves - to develop best practices to meet the sexual healthcare needs and advance the sexual health of nonbinary young people.

Tenofovir alafenamide as part of a salvage regimen in a patient with multi-drug resistant HIV and tenofovir-DF-associated renal tubulopathy.

We describe a patient with two recent episodes of tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF)-associated acute kidney injury and six-class drug-resistant HIV infection who achieved and maintained viral suppression without worsening kidney function on a regimen including tenofovir alafenamide (TAF) through 48 weeks of therapy. The safety and efficacy of TAF in patients with TDF-associated renal tubulopathy and multiple drug resistant HIV has not yet been described. TAF may represent a useful option to maximally suppress HIV in patients with these complications.

Construcción y validación de la Escala Psiconeurológica en niños aplicada a la familia / Construction and validation of the scale psiconeurologica in children applied to the family

El presente trabajo, tuvo como objetivo la construccion y validación de una Escala Psicológica en niños, aplicada a la familia, basada en el modelo del sistema de la personalidad de Ortiz. C.P (1994, 1997, 1998, 2000), en pacientes con problemas carebrales en el servicio de neurosicología, del Hospital Nacional Edgardo Rebagliati Martins. Se elaboró un conjunto de ítems, con el fin de detectar cambios en la actuación personal de los niños en tres áreas: comportamiento, desempeño y conducta, a través de sus madres informantes. Se determinó la validez de contenido por criterio de jueces competentes calificados, se hizo un análisis cuantitativo mediante la V. de Aiken y luego se pasó a un análisis cualitativo de los ítems. Se aplicó un ensayo piloto, modificándose los formatos de la prueba, se adaptaron algunos términos al uso familiar, así como las instrucciones y tiempo de aplicación. La Escala al final estuvo conformada por 20 ítems en cada área y se aplicó a las madres en forma individual. La muestra clínica estuvo conformada por 70 niños, todos ellos habían tenido un desarrollo normal, hasta antes de la enfermedad, la muestra no clínica fué de 120 niños que acudieron al hospital por enfermedades menores. Ambas muestras tenían una edad de 3 a 13 años, de ambos sexos. Las madres tenían instrucción, secundaria y superior. Se confirma la validez de constructor y se encuentran correlaciones muy significativas en la evaluación que hacian las madres respecto a sus hijos en las tres áreas: a mejor comportamiento mejor desempeño y a mejor desempeño mejor conducta y más significativo en el momento actual.
