Classificação da Funcionalidade de idosos de um núcleo de maturescência: a relevância dos aspectos psicossociais / Classification of Functionality of elderly in a maturescense center: the relevance of psychosocial aspects

RESUMO

Buscando operacionalizar o conceito de funcionalidade, a Organização Mundial da Saúde publicou a Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde (CIF), que possibilita o registro de perfis de funcionalidade, incapacidade e saúde e seus domínios relacionados. Objetivo. Conhecer o estado de funcionalidade dos participantes de um serviço de atenção ao idoso utilizando a CIF. Método. A amostra foi composta por 59 participantes, que responderam a dois questionários elaborados, com base na CIF, além do Miniexame do Estado Mental (MEEM). Os dados foram tratados no IBM SPSS Statistics 20. Resultados. Registrou-se idade média de 65,8 anos (± 7,5), prevalência de mulheres, indivíduos com alta escolaridade e com renda familiar de 8 salários mínimos ou mais. Pontuação igual ou superior a 25 pontos no MEEM foi alcançada por 89,8% da amostra. A maioria dos participantes não apresentou deficiência em Funções do Corpo nem dificuldade em Atividades e Participação e considerou seu ambiente como facilitador, o que permitiu inferir que tais sujeitos apresentaram bom estado de funcionalidade. Porém, os que o fizeram relataram dificuldades relativas às funções mentais e atividades relacionadas à cognição. A CIF mostrou-se um importante instrumento para acessar a saúde e seus estados relacionados possibilitando uma leitura das necessidades dos sujeitos, não apenas ressaltando as demandas biológicas, psicológicas e sociais, mas também indicando a interdependência entre as mesmas.(AU)

ABSTRACT

To know the state of functionality of the elderly enrolled in an elderly care service using the ICF. Methods: The sample consisted of 59 subjects who answered two questionnaires developed by the authors, in addition to the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE). Data were treated in the IBM SPSS Statistics 20. Results: The mean age was of 65.8 years (± 7.5), with the prevalence of women, subjects with high educational level and family income of 8 minimum wages or more. In the MMSE, 89.8% achieved scores at 25 point or above. The majority showed no impairments in Body Functions and in Activities and Participation. Participants had considered the environment where they live as a facilitator, allowing inferring that they present a good state of functioning. However, those who did reported difficulties related to mental functions and activities related to cognition. The CIF proved to be an important instrument for accessing health and its related states, allowing a reading of the subjects' needs, not only highlighting the biological, psychological and social demands, but also indicating the interdependence between them. Conclusions: The ICF has been an important tool for access health and the states related to it enabling a reading of the subjects' needs, not only highlighting the biological, psychological and social demands, but also indicating the interdependence between them.(AU)
