RESUMEN

Congenital hypopituitarism is a genetically heterogeneous condition that is part of a spectrum disorder that can include holoprosencephaly. Heterozygous mutations in SIX3 cause variable holoprosencephaly in humans and mice. We identified two children with neonatal hypopituitarism and thin pituitary stalk who were doubly heterozygous for rare, likely deleterious variants in the transcription factors SIX3 and POU1F1. We used genetically engineered mice to understand the disease pathophysiology. Pou1f1 loss-of-function heterozygotes are unaffected; Six3 heterozygotes have pituitary gland dysmorphology and incompletely ossified palate; and the Six3+/-; Pou1f1+/dw double heterozygote mice have a pronounced phenotype, including pituitary growth through the palate. The interaction of Pou1f1 and Six3 in mice supports the possibility of digenic pituitary disease in children. Disruption of Six3 expression in the oral ectoderm completely ablated anterior pituitary development, and deletion of Six3 in the neural ectoderm blocked the development of the pituitary stalk and both anterior and posterior pituitary lobes. Six3 is required in both oral and neural ectodermal tissues for the activation of signaling pathways and transcription factors necessary for pituitary cell fate. These studies clarify the mechanism of SIX3 action in pituitary development and provide support for a digenic basis for hypopituitarism.

Oestrogen is known to be strongly associated with ovarian cancer. There was much work to show the importance of lncRNA SNHG17 in ovarian cancer. However, no study has revealed the molecular regulatory mechanism and functional effects between oestrogen and SNHG17 in the development and metastasis of ovarian cancer. In this study, we found that SNHG17 expression was significantly increased in ovarian cancer and positively correlated with oestrogen treatment. Oestrogen could promote M2 macrophage polarization as well as ovarian cancer cells SKOV3 and ES2 cell exosomal SNHG17 expression. When exposure to oestrogen, exosomal SNHG17 promoted ovarian cancer cell proliferation, migration, invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in vitro, and tumour growth and lung metastasis in vivo by accelerating M2-like phenotype of macrophages. Mechanically, exosomal SNHG17 could facilitate the release of CCL13 from M2 macrophage via the PI3K-Akt signalling pathway. Moreover, CCL13-CCR2 axis was identified to be involved in ovarian cancer tumour behaviours driven by oestrogen. There results demonstrate a novel mechanism that exosomal SNHG17 exerts an oncogenic effect on ovarian cancer via the CCL13-CCR2-M2 macrophage axis upon oestrogen treatment, of which SNHG17 may be a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for ovarian cancer responded to oestrogen.

BACKGROUND: The expression of biological traits is modulated by genetics as well as the environment, and the level of influence exerted by the latter may vary across characteristics. Photosynthetic traits in plants are complex quantitative traits that are regulated by both endogenous genetic factors and external environmental factors such as light intensity and CO2 concentration. The specific processes impacted occur dynamically and continuously as the growth of plants changes. Although studies have been conducted to explore the genetic regulatory mechanisms of individual photosynthetic traits or to evaluate the effects of certain environmental variables on photosynthetic traits, the systematic impact of environmental variables on the dynamic process of integrated plant growth and development has not been fully elucidated. RESULTS: In this paper, we proposed a research framework to investigate the genetic mechanism of high-dimensional complex photosynthetic traits in response to the light environment at the genome level. We established a set of high-dimensional equations incorporating environmental regulators to integrate functional mapping and dynamic screening of gene‒environment complex systems to elucidate the process and pattern of intrinsic genetic regulatory mechanisms of three types of photosynthetic phenotypes of Populus simonii that varied with light intensity. Furthermore, a network structure was established to elucidate the crosstalk among significant QTLs that regulate photosynthetic phenotypic systems. Additionally, the detection of key QTLs governing the response of multiple phenotypes to the light environment, coupled with the intrinsic differences in genotype expression, provides valuable insights into the regulatory mechanisms that drive the transition of photosynthetic activity and photoprotection in the face of varying light intensity gradients. CONCLUSIONS: This paper offers a comprehensive approach to unraveling the genetic architecture of multidimensional variations in photosynthetic phenotypes, considering the combined impact of integrated environmental factors from multiple perspectives.

Pituitary hormone deficiency occurs in ∼1:4,000 live births. Approximately 3% of the cases are due to mutations in the alpha isoform of POU1F1, a pituitary-specific transcriptional activator. We found four separate heterozygous missense variants in unrelated individuals with hypopituitarism that were predicted to affect a minor isoform, POU1F1 beta, which can act as a transcriptional repressor. These variants retain repressor activity, but they shift splicing to favor the expression of the beta isoform, resulting in dominant-negative loss of function. Using a high-throughput splicing reporter assay, we tested 1,070 single-nucleotide variants in POU1F1. We identified 96 splice-disruptive variants, including 14 synonymous variants. In separate cohorts, we found two additional synonymous variants nominated by this screen that co-segregate with hypopituitarism. This study underlines the importance of evaluating the impact of variants on splicing and provides a catalog for interpretation of variants of unknown significance in POU1F1.

INTRODUCTION: Lymph node metastasis is one of the most common ways of tumour metastasis. The presence or absence of lymph node involvement influences the cancer's stage, therapy, and prognosis. The integration of artificial intelligence systems in the histopathological diagnosis of lymph nodes after surgery is urgent. METHODS: Here, we propose a pan-origin lymph node cancer metastasis detection system. The system is trained by over 700 whole-slide images (WSIs) and is composed of two deep learning models to locate the lymph nodes and detect cancers. RESULTS: It achieved an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.958, with a 95.2% sensitivity and 72.2% specificity, on 1,402 WSIs from 49 organs at the National Cancer Center, China. Moreover, we demonstrated that the system could perform robustly with 1,051 WSIs from 52 organs from another medical centre, with an AUC of 0.925. CONCLUSION: Our research represents a step forward in a pan-origin lymph node metastasis detection system, providing accurate pathological guidance by reducing the probability of missed diagnosis in routine clinical practice.

Monolayer (ML) Janus III-VI compounds have attracted the use of multiple competitive platforms for future-generation functional electronics, including non-volatile memories, field effect transistors, and sensors. In this work, the electronic and interfacial properties of ML Ga2STe-metal (Au, Ag, Cu, and Al) contacts are systematically investigated using first-principles calculations combined with the non-equilibrium Green's function method. The ML Ga2STe-Au/Ag/Al contacts exhibit weak electronic orbital hybridization at the interface, while the ML Ga2STe-Cu contact exhibits strong electronic orbital hybridization. The Te surface is more conducive to electron injection than the S surface in ML Ga2STe-metal contact. Quantum transport calculations revealed that when the Te side of the ML Ga2STe is in contact with Au, Ag and Cu electrodes, p-type Schottky contacts are formed. When in contact with the Al electrode, an n-type Schottky contact is formed with an electron SBH of 0.079 eV. When the S side of ML Ga2STe is in contact with Au and Al electrodes, p-type Schottky contacts are formed, and when it is in contact with Ag and Cu electrodes, n-type Schottky contacts are formed. Our study will guide the selection of appropriate metal electrodes for constructing ML Ga2STe devices.

In recent years, the activation of unactivated alkyl chlorides through light-induced processes has emerged as a promising field in radical chemistry, and has led to new transformations in organic synthesis. Direct utilization of alkyl chlorides as C(sp3)-hybridized electrophiles enables the facile construction of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds. Furthermore, recent studies in medicinal chemistry indicate that their presence is associated with high levels of success in clinical trials. This review summarizes the recent advances in the photoinduced activation of unactivated alkyl chlorides and discusses the mechanistic aspects underlying these reactions. We anticipate that this review will serve as a valuable resource for researchers in the field of unactivated chemical bond functionalization, and inspire considerable developments in organic chemistry, drug synthesis, materials science and other related disciplines.

Wounds and the subsequent formation of scars constitute a unified and complex phased process. Effective treatment is crucial; however, the diverse therapeutic approaches for different wounds and scars, as well as varying treatment needs at different stages, present significant challenges in selecting appropriate interventions. Microneedle patch (MNP), as a novel minimally invasive transdermal drug delivery system, has the potential for integrated and programmed treatment of various diseases and has shown promising applications in different types of wounds and scars. In this comprehensive review, the latest applications and biotechnological innovations of MNPs in these fields are thoroughly explored, summarizing their powerful abilities to accelerate healing, inhibit scar formation, and manage related symptoms. Moreover, potential applications in various scenarios are discussed. Additionally, the side effects, manufacturing processes, and material selection to explore the clinical translational potential are investigated. This groundwork can provide a theoretical basis and serve as a catalyst for future innovations in the pursuit of favorable therapeutic options for skin tissue regeneration.

Mounting attention has been focused on defects of the autophagy-lysosomal pathway in sepsis, however, the precise mechanisms governing the autophagy-lysosomal process in sepsis are poorly known. We have previously reported that Erbin deficiency aggravated the inflammatory response and organ injuries caused by sepsis. In the present study, we found that Erbin knockout impaired the autophagy process in both muramyl dipeptide (MDP)-induced bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) and sepsis mouse liver and lung, as detected by the accumulation of LC3-II and SQSTM1/p62, and autophagosomes. Pretreatment with autophagy inhibitor chloroquine (CQ) further aggravated inflammatory response and organ injuries in vivo and in vitro sepsis model. We also observed that the impaired lysosomal function mediated autophagic blockade, as detected by the decreased expression of ATP6V, cathepsin B (CTSB) and LAMP2 protein. Immunoprecipitation revealed that the C-terminal of Erbin (aa 391-964) interacts with the N-terminal of transcription factor EB (TFEB) (aa 1-247), and affects the stability of TFEB-14-3-3 and TFEB-PPP3CB complexes and the phosphorylation status of TFEB, thereby promote the nucleus translocation of TFEB and the TFEB target genes transcription. Thus, our study suggested that Erbin alleviated sepsis-induced inflammatory responses and organ injuries by rescuing dysfunction of the autophagy-lysosomal pathway through TFEB-14-3-3 and TFEB-PPP3CB pathway.

STUDY QUESTION: What are the associations between female-specific reproductive factors and leukocyte telomere length (LTL)? SUMMARY ANSWER: Early menarche, early menopause, short reproductive lifespan, early age at first birth, multiparity, and use of oral contraceptives (OCs) and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) were associated with shorter LTL. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY: Reproductive factors have been associated with age-related diseases, but their associations with cellular aging, as indicated by LTL, are unclear. STUDY DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION: This population-based study included 224 965 women aged 40-69 years from the UK Biobank between 2006 and 2010. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS: Women aged 40-69 were included. Female-specific reproductive factors, including age at menarche, age at natural menopause, reproductive lifespan, number of live births, age at first live birth, history of stillbirth, history of miscarriage, and use of OCs and HRT were self-reported. LTL was measured using a validated polymerase chain reaction method. Multiple linear regression and restricted cubic spline models were applied to explore the association between each reproductive factor and LTL. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE: After adjustment for potential confounders, early menarche (<12 years; percent change, per unit change in LTL Z score: -1.29%, 95% CI: -2.32%, -0.26%), early menopause (<45 years; percent change: -7.18%, 95% CI: -8.87%, -5.45%), short reproductive lifespan (<30 years; percent change: -6.10%, 95% CI: -8.14%, -4.01%), multiparity (percent change: -3.38%, 95% CI: -4.38%, -2.37%), early age at first live birth (<20 years; percent change: -4.46%, 95% CI: -6.00%, -2.90%), and use of OCs (percent change: -1.10%, 95% CI: -2.18%, -0.02%) and HRT (percent change: -3.72%, 95% CI: -4.63%, -2.80%) were all significantly associated with shorter LTL. However, no significant association was found for history of miscarriage and stillbirth. We observed nonlinear relationships of age at menarche, age at natural menopause, reproductive lifespan, and age at first live birth with LTL (Pnonlinear < 0.05). LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION: Considering that the participants were predominantly of European ethnicity, the findings may not be generalizable to women of other ethnic backgrounds. WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS: Our findings suggest that early menarche, early menopause, short reproductive lifespan, early age at first birth, multiparity, and use of OCs and HRT were associated with shorter LTL, which has been linked to various chronic diseases. The accelerated shortening of telomeres may potentially contribute to the development of chronic diseases related to reproductive factors. A divergent reaction of indoline-derived azadienes with α-bromohydroxamates for the selective synthesis of spiro-indolinepyrrolidinones and indoline-fused diazepinones was disclosed. This reaction sequence involved an initial formation of five-membered spirocyclic products followed by an intramolecular ring-opening and ring expansion to produce seven-membered diazepinones. We demonstrated that controlling the reaction time could modulate the reaction pathway for formation of different molecular frameworks for the same set of substrates. Based on the experimental results, the reaction mechanism was also discussed and proposed to explain the phenomena observed in the process.

Spontaneous pattern formation with a well-defined periodicity is ubiquitous in nature. The Liesegang phenomenon is a chemical model of such a spontaneous pattern formation. In this study, we investigated the role of stochasticity in reaction-diffusion precipitation processes by demonstrating the temperature dependence of spontaneous symmetry breaking and helix formation in the Liesegang pattern with CuCrO4 precipitates; experimental analysis and numerical simulations based on reaction-diffusion equations were used. At high temperatures, helices with no, single, and double branches appeared in addition to the discrete parallel band characteristic of the Liesegang phenomenon. The probability of helix formation increased drastically when the experimental temperature during the pattern formation exceeded 20 °C. Moreover, the spacing coefficient, quantitatively representing the periodicity of obtained patterns, increased at high temperatures. Numerical simulations were performed to investigate the temperature dependence of the probability of helix formation and spacing coefficients. The stochasticity of the initial chemical reaction, which can trigger consequent nucleation and crystal growth, critically affected the probability of helix formation and the spacing coefficient. These features were explained in the framework of the prenucleation model by considering the degree of stochasticity in the initial chemical reaction step.

Developing new solid-state electrolyte materials for improving the proton conductivity remains an important challenge. Herein, a novel two-dimensional layered solid-state proton conductor Bi2O2-SiW12 nanocomposite, based on silicotungstic acid (H4SiW12O40) and Bi(NO3)3·5H2O, was synthesized and characterized. The composite consists of a layered cation framework [Bi2O2]2+ and interlayer-embedded counteranionic [SiW12O40]4-, which forms continuous hydrogen bond (O-H···O) networks through the interaction of adjacent oxygen atoms on the surface of the [Bi2O2]2+ and oxygen atoms of the H4SiW12O40. Facile proton transfer along these pathways endows the Bi2O2-SiW12 (30:1) nanocomposite with an excellent proton conductivity of 3.61 mS cm-1 at 90 °C and 95% relative humidity, indicating that the nanocomposite has good prospects as a highly efficient proton conductor.

The excited-state manipulation of the phosphorescent iridium(III) complexes plays a vital role in their photofunctional applications. The development of the molecular design strategy promotes the creative findings of novel iridium(III) complexes. The current molecular design strategies for iridium(III) complexes mainly depend on the selective cyclometalation of the ligands with the iridium(III) ion, which is governed by the steric hindrance of the ligand during the cyclometalation. Herein, a new molecular design strategy (i.e., random cyclometalation strategy) is proposed for the effective excited-state manipulation of phosphorescent cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes. Two series of new and separable methoxyl-functionalized isomeric iridium(III) complexes are accessed by a one-pot synthesis via random cyclometalation, resulting in a dramatic tuning of the phosphorescence peak wavelength (∼57 nm) and electrochemical properties attributed to the high sensitivity of their excited states to the position of the methoxyl group. These iridium(III) complexes show intense phosphorescence ranging from the yellow (567 nm) to the deep-red (634 nm) color with high photoluminescence quantum yields of up to 0.99. Two deep-red emissive iridium(III) complexes with short decay lifetimes are further utilized as triplet emitters to afford efficient solution-processed electroluminescence with reduced efficiency roll-offs.

BACKGROUND: Resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy narrows the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy. Although 4-1BB is a promising drug target as a costimulatory molecule of immune cells, no 4-1BB agonist has been given clinical approval because of severe liver toxicity or limited efficacy. Therefore, a safe and efficient immunostimulatory molecule is urgently needed for cancer immunotherapy. METHODS: HK010 was generated by antibody engineering, and the Fab/antigen complex structure was analyzed using crystallography. The affinity and activity of HK010 were detected by multiple in vitro bioassays, including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), surface plasmon resonance (SPR), flow cytometry, and luciferase-reporter assays. Humanized mice bearing human PD-L1-expressing MC38 (MC38/hPDL1) or CT26 (CT26/hPDL1) tumor transplants were established to assess the in vivo antitumor activity of HK010. The pharmacokinetics (PK) and toxicity of HK010 were evaluated in cynomolgus monkeys. RESULTS: HK010 was generated as an Fc-muted immunoglobulin (Ig)G4 PD-L1x4-1BB bispecific antibody (BsAb) with a distinguished Fab/antigen complex structure, and maintained a high affinity for human PD-L1 (KD: 2.27 nM) and low affinity for human 4-1BB (KD: 493 nM) to achieve potent PD-1/PD-L1 blockade and appropriate 4-1BB agonism. HK010 exhibited synergistic antitumor activity by blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway and stimulating the 4-1BB signaling pathway simultaneously, and being strictly dependent on the PD-L1 receptor in vitro and in vivo. In particular, when the dose was decreased to 0.3 mg/kg, HK010 still showed a strong antitumor effect in a humanized mouse model bearing MC38/hPDL1 tumors. Strikingly, HK010 treatment enhanced antitumor immunity and induced durable antigen-specific immune memory to prevent rechallenged tumor growth by recruiting CD8+ T cells and other lymphocytes into tumor tissue and activating tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes. Moreover, HK010 not only did not induce nonspecific production of proinflammatory cytokines but was also observed to be well tolerated in cynomolgus monkeys in 5 week repeated-dose (5, 15, or 50 mg/kg) and single-dose (75 or 150 mg/kg) toxicity studies. CONCLUSION: We generated an Fc-muted anti-PD-L1x4-1BB BsAb, HK010, with a distinguished structural interaction with PD-L1 and 4-1BB that exhibits a synergistic antitumor effect by blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway and stimulating the 4-1BB signaling pathway simultaneously. It is strictly dependent on the PD-L1 receptor with no systemic toxicity, which may offer a new option for cancer immunotherapy.

BACKGROUND: This study aims to investigate the correlation between Erbin and sepsis, and the role of Erbin on the pyroptosis pathway in acute kidney injury caused by sepsis and NLRP3/caspase-1/Gasdermin D pathway. METHODS: In the study, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) treatment or cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) surgery on mice were used to stimulate the in vitro and in vivo sepsis-induced renal injury model. The male C57BL/6 of wild-type mice (WT) and Erbin-knockout mice (Erbin-/-, EKO) were randomly divided into four groups (WT + Sham, WT + CLP, EKO + Sham, EKO + CLP). Inflammatory cytokine, renal function, pyroptotic cell numbers and the levels of protein and mRNA expression of pyroptosis, including the NLRP3 (all P < 0.05), were analyzed and found increase in Erbin-/- mice with CLP and LPS-induced HK-2 cells. RESULTS: The inhibited of Erbin shows a renal damaged effect by promoting NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated pyroptosis in SI-AKI. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated a novel mechanism by which Erbin regulates NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated pyroptosis in SI-AKI.

BACKGROUND: Arterial stiffness is an important indicator of cardiovascular aging. However, studies assessing the association between metal exposure and arterial stiffness are limited. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to investigate the independent and joint associations of metal exposure with arterial stiffness. METHODS: This cross-sectional study recruited 2982 Chinese adults from August 2018 to March 2019 in Wuhan, China. The concentrations of 20 urinary metals were determined using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer. Arterial stiffness was assessed by brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV). We used generalized linear model (GLM) to estimate the association of single metal exposure with baPWV. We used weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression to estimate the association of metal mixture with baPWV. RESULTS: In GLM regression analysis, each doubling of urinary copper (Cu) and chromium (Cr) concentrations were associated with 6.48 (95 % CI: 2.51-10.45) cm/s and 3.78 (95 % CI: 0.42-7.14) cm/s increase in baPWV, respectively. In WQS regression analysis, each unit increase in WQS index of the metal mixture was associated with a 9.10 (95 % CI: 2.39-15.82) cm/s increase in baPWV. Cu, Zn, and Cr were the dominant urinary metals associated with baPWV. CONCLUSION: Metal exposure, both individually and in mixture, was associated with an increased risk of arterial stiffness. Our findings may provide a target for preventative strategies against cardiovascular aging.

BACKGROUND: Endometriosis is a chronic, inflammatory condition characterised by the presence of endometrial-like tissue outside the uterine cavity. Given the multi-system nature of the disease and the potential for significant negative impact on quality of life, there has been a long-standing recognition of the need for multidisciplinary care for people with endometriosis. However, there is paucity to the data supporting this approach, and much of the evidence is anecdotal. AIM: This systematic review aims to describe recent evidence-based models and patient-centred perspectives of multidisciplinary care for endometriosis, to improve understanding of the role of an integrated, multidisciplinary team in effectively addressing patients' care needs. MATERIALS AND METHODS: PubMed, Medline, Embase and Web of Science were searched for relevant articles published between 1 January 2010 to 7 July 2022. RESULTS: Nineteen studies met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and pinpointed a multidisciplinary team consisting of gynaecologists, pain specialists, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, sex therapists, nutritionists, complementary medicine practitioners, and social workers to be most commonly utilised in holistically managing people with pelvic pain and endometriosis. Furthermore, patient perspectives on care highlighted the need for reliable information, respect and validation of experiences or preferences, discussion of long-term treatment plans and social and emotional supports. CONCLUSION: The trend for multidisciplinary team care for people with endometriosis is growing. Further consumer-driven clinical studies and outcome evaluations need to be conducted to determine the effect of multidisciplinary care on improvements to quality of life for people living with endometriosis and or pelvic pain.

CONCLUSION: Upon wound formation, the wound temperature rises in the first 3-4 days until reaching its peak. It then falls at about one week after wound formation. In the second week after wound formation, the wound temperature decreases steadily to the baseline indicating a good wound condition and progression towards healing. While a continuous high temperature is often a sign of excessive inflammation or infection, which indicates urgent need of intervention and treatment.

This study aimed to assess the relationships between exposure to individual organochlorine pesticides (OCPs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and their mixture and arterial stiffness and explore whether adherence to an ideal cardiovascular health (CVH) could mitigate these associations. The cross-sectional study enrolled 1437 Chinese adults between March and May 2019 in Wuhan, China. OCPs and PCBs concentrations were measured using solid phase extraction coupled with gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Arterial stiffness was evaluated by brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV). CVH was determined by three behavioral and four biological metrics and categorized as ideal, intermediate, and poor CVH. We applied generalized linear model and weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression to evaluate the associations of exposure to individual OCPs or PCBs and their mixture with baPWV, respectively. We found that participants with detectable levels of heptachlor epoxide, PCB-153, and PCB-180 had higher baPWV (ß: 34.25, 95% CI 14.28-54.22; ß: 27.64, 95% CI 7.90-47.38; and ß: 30.51, 95% CI 10.68-50.35) than those with undetectable levels. In WQS regression, the mixture of OCPs and PCBs was related to a higher baPWV (ß: 24.93, 95% CI 2.70-47.15). Compared with participants with ideal CVH and undetectable OCPs or PCBs levels, those with poor CVH and detectable OCPs or PCBs levels had the highest increase in baPWV (heptachlor epoxide: ß: 147.94, 95% CI 112.52-183.55; PCB-153: ß: 150.22, 95% CI 115.40-185.04; PCB-180: ß: 147.02, 95% CI 111.66-182.38). Our findings suggested that individual OCPs, PCBs, and their mixture exposure were positively associated with arterial stiffness, and adherence to an ideal CVH may mitigate the adverse effect.
