RESUMEN

In recent years, more and more organic π-conjugated moieties have been screened out to create excellent ultraviolet (UV) and deep-UV nonlinear optical (NLO) crystal materials. However, NLO crystals with organic groups usually exhibit poor thermal stability compared with those of traditional inorganic NLO materials. Herein, the organic group [HCOO], which is similar to traditional planar trigonal π-conjugated anionic groups, was employed to successfully build three UV NLO crystals RE(HCOO)3 (RE = Eu, Gd, and Dy) and two centrosymmetric compounds RE(HCOO)2(OH) (RE = Eu, and Gd) with superior thermal stability. Their structures and properties were further studied and characterized, especially the structure evolutions between noncentrosymmetric RE(HCOO)3 (RE = Eu, Gd, and Dy) and centrosymmetric RE(HCOO)2(OH) (RE = Eu, and Gd), as well as the NLO properties of the three crystals RE(HCOO)3 (RE = Eu, Gd, and Dy).

RESUMEN

The design and syntheses of new birefringent crystals will be of great importance in commercial applications and materials science. A series of ultraviolet (UV) birefringent crystals, AX·(H2SeO3)n (A = K, Cs; X = Cl, Br; n = 1, 2), with large sizes up to 23 × 6 × 3 mm3, was successfully synthesized by simple aqueous solution method. These four compounds belong to three different space groups. Isomorphic KCl·(H2SeO3)2 and CsCl·(H2SeO3)2 crystallize in the P1¯ space group, while CsBr·(H2SeO3)2 and CsCl·H2SeO3 crystallize in the P21/m and P21/c space groups, respectively. They exhibit cocrystal structures composed of [2(H2SeO3)]∞ and [AX]∞ frameworks, ingeniously inheriting the large optical anisotropy of selenite and the wide band gap of alkali metal halide. And it proves that these compounds indeed possess large birefringence (0.1-0.17 at 532 nm) and short UV cutoff edges (227-239 nm), achieving a balance of optical properties. This research affords a simple and viable strategy for the design and syntheses of new UV birefringent crystals. Besides, it is also found that the n value and ionic size (A and X ions) have important influences on the crystal structures and optical properties of AX·(H2SeO3)n. And this will promote further understanding of the alkali metal halide selenite family.

RESUMEN

Planar π-conjugated groups, like CO3, NO3, and BO3 triangles, are ideal functional units for designing birefringent materials due to their large optical anisotropy and wide band gap. The key point for designing birefringent crystals is to select appropriate functional building blocks (FBBs) and the proper arrangement mode. It is well known that the substitution strategy has proven to be a promising and accessible approach. In this work, alkali metals were chosen to regulate and control two different π-conjugated groups, CO3 and NO3, to build new compounds with large birefringence. Subsequently, three new compounds, Na3K6(CO3)3(NO3)2X·6H2O (X = NO3, Cl, Br), were successfully synthesized using the hydrothermal method. The aliovalent substitution between the [NO3]- anionic group and halogen anions [Cl]-/[Br]- has been achieved in these compounds. Na3K6(CO3)3(NO3)2X·6H2O feature the well-coplanar CO3 and NO3 groups in their crystal structure. This coplanar arrangement mode may effectively enhance the anisotropic polarizability of Na3K6(CO3)3(NO3)2X·6H2O. And their experimental birefringence can reach 0.094-0.131 at 546 nm. Diffuse reflectance spectra demonstrate that these compounds exhibit short ultraviolet (UV) absorption edges of ∼235 nm. Meanwhile, Na3K6(CO3)3(NO3)2X·6H2O also have an easily grown capacity under facile conditions. This work not only reports three new potential UV birefringent crystals but also provides a strategy to make the π-conjugated MO3 group coplanar.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Cardiac autonomic function predicts cardiovascular disease risk. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between sensitization to dust allergens and cardiac autonomic dysfunction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and to provide new ideas for the prevention of cardiovascular complications in these patients. METHODS: Immunoassays for sensitization to cats/dogs, cockroaches and dust mites were performed in 840 patients with COPD. Indicators of heart rate variability in these patients were used to assess cardiac autonomic function, including standard deviation of normal-to-normal intervals (SDNN), root-mean square of successive differences between normal-to-normal intervals (RMSSD), low-frequency power (LF), high-frequency power (HF), and LF/HF ratios, which were obtained based on ambulatory electrocardiographic monitoring data. The relationship between sensitization to these dust allergens and heart rate variability was explored using multivariate logistic regression. FINDINGS: The multivariate analyses showed that sensitization to total allergens was associated with reduced levels of SDNN, RMSSD, LF and HF and with increased levels of the LF/HF ratio in the patients with COPD (p < .05). CONCLUSION: Dust allergen sensitization may be associated with cardiac autonomic dysfunction in patients with COPD. Whether desensitization can prevent cardiovascular complications in these patients should be further explored.

RESUMEN

We applied fluorescence staining of Nile red, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and carbon substrate utilization and pressure tolerance analysis to execute three-stage screening for potential polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) producers in the sludge samples of 21 large-scale wastewater treatment plants of city and industrial parks in Taiwan area. Total 35,429 colonies were grown on 196 plates, the screened 30 strains were subjected to 16S rRNA analysis, and 18 identified genera belonged to Proteobacteria (67%), Firmicutes (17%), and Actinomycetota (16%). The PHA accumulation results revealed that nine genera (50% of 18 screened) produced PHAs by limiting the nitrogen source and excess single carbon sources of glucose in an aerobic status. The PHA accumulation percentage was 1.44-58.77% at dry cell weight, and the theoretical yield from glucose was 0.52-58.76%. Our results indicate that our triple-screening method is promising for identifying a high biodiversity of PHA-accumulating bacteria from activated sludge for future industrial applications.

RESUMEN

The discovery of low-cost and efficient electro-catalytic materials for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is very desirable in hydrogen energy technology. Here, a new type of one-dimensional (1-D) organic hybrid selenidostannate [Ni(en)3]n[Sn2Se5]n (SnSe-1, en = ethylenediamine) with an in situ [Ni(en)3]2+ complex was achieved by the solvothermal reaction of Sn, Se, and NiCl2·6H2O in a mixed solvent of en and triethanolamine at 160 °C for 10 days. The crystal structure of SnSe-1 contains a unique 1-D [Sn2Se52-]n chain built up from the sharing-edge connection of a hitherto-unknown tetrameric [Sn4Se12] cluster, which is separated by discrete [Ni(en)3]2+ complexes. SnSe-1 is first combined with Ni nanoparticles supported on conductive porous Ni foam (NF) to constitute a Ni/SnSe-1/NF electrode as the HER electro-catalyst, displaying superior electro-catalytic activity in near-neutral conditions.

RESUMEN

The exploitation of efficient and economical electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is of exceeding interest in renewable clean-energy technologies. Herein, the facile solvothermal reaction of S and chromic acetate in ethylenediamine (en) achieved a novel organic hybrid chromium sulfide [Cr4(µ3-S)4(en)4(SH)4]·0.25H2O (1), which offers a new type of antiferromagnetic cubane-like chromium sulfide cluster with σ-donor en ligands. 1 was utilized in combination with Ni nanoparticles and porous Ni foam (NF) to fabricate a Ni/1/NF electrode as an efficient cathodic catalyst, indicating excellent electrocatalytic property toward HER.

RESUMEN

The development of the most promising electro-catalysts for the high-performance hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in neutral media is exceedingly desirable. Here, the convenient hydrothermal reaction of PbI2, 3-pyrazinyl-1,2,4-triazole (3-pt), KI, and methanol in HI aqueous solution acquired an organic hybrid iodoplumbate [mtp][Pb2I5][PbI3]·0.5H2O (denoted as PbI-1, mtp2+ = 3-(1,4-dimethyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-4-ium-3-yl)-1-methylpyrazin-1-ium), which not only provided an infrequent in situ organic mtp2+ cation that originated from the hydrothermal N-methylation reaction of 3-pt in acidic KI solution but also offered the rare example of organic hybrid iodoplumbate incorporating both one-dimensional (1-D) [PbI3-]n and two-dimensional (2-D) [Pb2I5-]n polymeric anions with one configuration of the mtp2+ cation. PbI-1 was applied for the construction of a Ni nanoparticle decorating the PbI-1 electrode (Ni/PbI-1/NF) via successive coating and electrodeposition onto the porous Ni foam (NF) support. The fabricated Ni/PbI-1/NF electrode that served as the cathodic catalyst showed excellent HER electro-catalytic activity.

RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: The aim of the study was to report 2-year outcomes of intravitreal injection of high-dose conbercept (1 mg 2 + PRN scheme) for subjects with myopic choroidal neovascularization (mCNV) and idiopathic choroidal neovascularization (iCNV) by optical coherence tomography angiography follow-up. METHODS: A total of 38 subjects (38 eyes) were enrolled in this retrospective study, which were divided into group A (mCNV, 20 subjects, 20 eyes) and group B (iCNV, 18 subjects, 18 eyes). All subjects received 1.0 mg of conbercept intravitreally at diagnosis and again 35 days later. Additional conbercept injection was administered upon findings of decreased best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA); metamorphosis aggravation, macular hemorrhage, or edema; increased central retinal thickness (CRT); or leakage observed by fluorescein angiography. The BCVA, CRT, and CNV areas of the two groups were evaluated at baseline and at 1, 2, 4, 6, 12, and 24 months after surgery. RESULTS: The BCVA of group A improved from 0.31 ± 0.16 logMAR at baseline to 0.12 ± 0.03 logMAR at the final follow-up (p < 0.001), while in group B the corresponding improvement was from 0.33 ± 0.16 logMAR at baseline to 0.12 ± 0.03 logMAR at the final follow-up (p < 0.001). Visual acuity improved in 17 subjects in group A and 15 in group B, while it remained stable in 3 subjects in each of groups A and B. CRT decreased from 311.83 ± 30.95 µm in group A and 351.17 ± 37.09 µm in group B preoperation to 229.56 ± 5.75 µm and 227.67 ± 4.98 µm at 24-month follow-up, respectively (p < 0.001 in groups A and B). Metamorphopsia was improved in subjects in groups A and B. CNV had disappeared in the two groups at the last postoperative visit. The BCVA, CRT, and CNV areas showed no statistical differences between the two groups at 6-, 12-, and 24-month follow-up (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Intravitreal injection of conbercept (1 mg 2 + PRN scheme) is effective for treating patients with mCNV or iCNV, which can improve and stabilize vision as well as dramatically alleviate metamorphopsia.

RESUMEN

The study devised a detection process combining Nile red-containing media, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and gas chromatography (GC) to evaluate the possibility of microbes becoming polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) producers. The Nile red and PCR detection steps of designating PHA producers had true positive rates of 39.4% and 40%, respectively, and the use of GC analysis as the final step yielded accurate results for the production types and yields of PHAs. When the number of screening samples was up to 102, connecting all three inspection methods in tandem generated economic benefits. When up to 105 samples were screened, the use of all three detection methods reduced the cost to 3% of the cost and the time consumed 6% of using just Nile red plus GC or PCR plus GC. However, when the sum of samples exceeded 108, the cost of combining the three methods exceeds 1 million US dollars and was excessive; here, the combination of Nile red plus PCR could be considered, even though the true positive rate was only 30.7%.

RESUMEN

The exploration of an excellent triple sensor for monitoring Cu2+, Fe3+, and Cr2O72- ions is of exceeding significance because of their serious effects on the human body. Herein, optically active 1H-3,5-bis(pyrazinyl)-1,2,4-triazole (Hbpt) with triazolyl and pyrazinyl groups was applied for the construction of a new type of organic hybrid cadmium iodide [Cd6I8(bpt)4(H2O)4]·2H2O (1) incorporating a hitherto-unknown [Cd3I4(H2O)2]2+ trimeric-cationic unit, which shows an orange light emission at 589 nm with a large Stokes shift of 246 nm. In virtue of the existence of free bifunctional azole sites as the receptors, 1 exhibits a highly selective and sensitive sensing property toward Cu2+, Fe3+, and Cr2O72- ions in aqueous solution with lower detection limits of 0.70∼4.46 ppm, which offers the sole example of cadmium iodide as an excellent triple sensor for detecting Cu2+, Fe3+, and Cr2O72- ions. Moreover, temperature-dependent luminescent determinations also reveal that 1 can be used as the potential luminescent molecular thermometer.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVES: The diagnosis of sepsis is challenging, the need for sensitive and specific diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers has not been met. Soluble CD25 (sCD25) is a readily available biomarker reported to represent the severity of the disease. This study aimed to assess the association between sCD25 and mortality in patients with sepsis. METHODS: In total, 329 adult patients with sepsis were screened through a prospective, observational study. We investigated the severity scores and sCD25 levels at admission to the intensive care unit (ICU), defined by sepsis (sepsis-3). The prognostic value of sCD25 was assessed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and binary logistic regression models in predicting unfavourable outcome. The correlations between variables and severity of disease were analysed by Spearman correlation tests. RESULTS: After entering the ICU, the sCD25 level and sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) score were significantly higher in nonsurvivors than in survivors. The prognostic values estimated by the ROC curves were 0.678 for sCD25 and 0.945 for SOFA score at ICU admission. sCD25 had a modest ability to predict poor outcome. Logistic regression showed that increased levels of sCD25 were independently associated with unfavourable outcome. Spearman correlation tests showed that sCD25 levels were positively correlated with disease severity. CONCLUSIONS: In sepsis patients, increased sCD25 levels were independently associated with poor clinical outcomes. Further research is needed to improve the understanding of the pathophysiology of this relationship.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND/AIMS: The Nod-like receptor protein-3 (NLRP3) inflammasome signalling pathway is involved in the inflammatory reaction of myocardial ischaemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury. Our previous study showed that miR-330-5p was differentially expressed in both cerebral and myocardial I/R injury, and thus might be a biomarker for I/R injury-related diseases. Another study also indicated that miR-330-5p could promote NLRP3 inflammasome activation in renal IRI. However, the role of miR-330-5p in myocardial I/R injury-induced inflammatory responses is unknown. This study aimed to investigate the role of miR-330-5p in NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated myocardial I/R injury. METHODS: Myocardial I/R injury was induced in mice by occlusion of the left anterior descending coronary artery for 45 min followed by reperfusion. For NLRP3 inflammasome stimulation in vitro, cardiomyocytes were treated with 2 h of oxygen and glucose deprivation (OGD) or LPS (100 ng/ml). Myocardial miR-330-5p expression was examined by PCR at different treatment times. A miR-330-5p antagomir and an agomir were used to regulate miR-330-5p expression. To evaluate the role of miR-330-5p in myocardial I/R injury, 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining, echocardiography, and immunoblotting were used to assess infarct volume, cardiac function, and NLRP3 inflammasome activation respectively. A luciferase binding assay was used to examine whether miR-330-5p could directly bind to the T cell immunoglobulin domain and mucin domain-containing molecule-3 (TIM3). Finally, the role of the miR-330-5p/TIM3 axis in regulating apoptosis and NLRP3 inflammasome formation was evaluated with flow cytometry assays and immunofluorescence staining. RESULTS: Compared to that in the model group, the inhibition of miR-330-5p significantly aggravated myocardial I/R injury, resulting in increased infarct volume and more severe cardiac dysfunction. Moreover, inhibition of miR-330-5p significantly increased the levels of NLRP3 inflammasome-related proteins, including caspase-1, IL-1ß, IL-18 and TNF-α, in both in-vivo and in-vitro models. Furthermore, TIM3 was confirmed as a potential target of miR-330-5p. As predicted, suppression of TIM3 by siRNA ameliorated the anti-miR-330-5p-mediated activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome induced by OGD and LPS, thus decreasing cardiomyocyte apoptosis. CONCLUSIONS: Our study indicated that the miR-330-5p/TIM3 axis was involved in the regulatory mechanism of NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated myocardial inflammation.

RESUMEN

Cherax quadricarinatus is seriously affected by multiple types of pathogens, including bacteria and viruses, and has been widely transplanted around the world. Heat shock proteins (Hsps) are a group of molecular chaperones that play important roles in promoting the proper refolding and blocking the aggregation of denatured proteins. In this study, CqHsp60, CqHsp70 and CqHsp90 from C. quadricarinatus were cloned, and their expression patterns were analysed. The CDS (coding sequence) lengths of the CqHsp60, CqHsp70 and CqHsp90 genes were 1731 bp, 1932 bp and 2199 bp, encoding 576, 643 and 732 amino acids, respectively. CqHsp60 was 99.13%, 98.78% and 88.63% identical to the corresponding sequences of Cherax cainii, Cherax destructor and Eriocheir sinensis, respectively. CqHsp70 showed 99.84%, 92.73% and 91.58% identity to the corresponding sequences of C. cainii, C. destructor and E. sinensis, while CqHsp90 was 98.25%, 98.51% and 91.41% identical with those of C. cainii, C. destructor and E. sinensis, respectively. The expression patterns of the three CqHsps were different between males and females. CqHsp60 and CqHsp70 exhibited the highest expression in the hepatopancreas of males and the gonads of females, and CqHsp90 presented the highest expression in the gonads of males and hepatopancreas of females. After pathogenic inoculation, the death trend of C. quadricarinatus at different time points was the same in association with different pathogens, with most deaths occurring within 6 h post-inoculation. The trend of CqHsp transcription at different time points was the same among the groups treated with Vibrio alginolyticus, Vibrio parahemolyticus and Aeromonas hydrophila, exhibiting upregulation first and then downregulation. The expression of CqHsp60 and CqHsp70 in the gills of living C. quadricarinatus was less than 3.5 times that in the PBS group, but in the gills of dead C. quadricarinatus under A. hydrophila inoculation, its expression was more than 5-9 times that in the PBS group. CqHsp90 expression changed dramatically in the V. alginolyticus, V. parahemolyticus and A. hydrophila groups, in which it exceeded 50 times the level in the PBS group. These results indicated that CqHsps could induce the activation of the immune system within a short time and that CqHsp90 could be used as a more effective molecular biomarker than CqHsp70 and CqHsp60 in a pathogenic bacterium-polluted environment.

RESUMEN

In contrast to the well-investigated halogen-containing borates and carbonates, very few halogen-containing borate carbonate compounds have been reported. Specifically, no example of borate carbonate fluoride has been synthesized successfully until now. Herein, the planar π-conjugated units [BO3 ]3- and [CO3 ]2- and the F- ions are introduced simultaneously into one crystal structure resulting in the first borate carbonate fluoride, Ba3 (BO3 )(CO3 )F, by the high-temperature solution method in the atmosphere. Its structure features a hexagonal channel formed by the [BO3 ]3- and [CO3 ]2- units with the [F3 Ba8 ]13+ trimers filled in the channel. Various characterizations including single crystal- and powder-XRD, EDX, IR, UV-vis-NIR, and TG-DSC, together with the first principles calculation have been carried out to verify the structure and fully understand the structure-property relationships.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: In December 2019, pneumonia cases of unknown origin were reported in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. Identified as the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the number of cases grew rapidly by human-to-human transmission in Wuhan. Social media, especially Sina Weibo (a major Chinese microblogging social media site), has become an important platform for the public to obtain information and seek help. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to analyze the characteristics of suspected or laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients who asked for help on Sina Weibo. METHODS: We conducted data mining on Sina Weibo and extracted the data of 485 patients who presented with clinical symptoms and imaging descriptions of suspected or laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19. In total, 9878 posts seeking help on Sina Weibo from February 3 to 20, 2020 were analyzed. We used a descriptive research methodology to describe the distribution and other epidemiological characteristics of patients with suspected or laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) infection. The distance between patients' home and the nearest designated hospital was calculated using the geographic information system ArcGIS. RESULTS: All patients included in this study who sought help on Sina Weibo lived in Wuhan, with a median age of 63.0 years (IQR 55.0-71.0). Fever (408/485, 84.12%) was the most common symptom. Ground-glass opacity (237/314, 75.48%) was the most common pattern on chest computed tomography; 39.67% (167/421) of families had suspected and/or laboratory-confirmed family members; 36.58% (154/421) of families had 1 or 2 suspected and/or laboratory-confirmed members; and 70.52% (232/329) of patients needed to rely on their relatives for help. The median time from illness onset to real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing was 8 days (IQR 5.0-10.0), and the median time from illness onset to online help was 10 days (IQR 6.0-12.0). Of 481 patients, 32.22% (n=155) lived more than 3 kilometers away from the nearest designated hospital. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings show that patients seeking help on Sina Weibo lived in Wuhan and most were elderly. Most patients had fever symptoms, and ground-glass opacities were noted in chest computed tomography. The onset of the disease was characterized by family clustering and most families lived far from the designated hospital. Therefore, we recommend the following: (1) the most stringent centralized medical observation measures should be taken to avoid transmission in family clusters; and (2) social media can help these patients get early attention during Wuhan's lockdown. These findings can help the government and the health department identify high-risk patients and accelerate emergency responses following public demands for help.

RESUMEN

Substitution of oxygen by fluorine in the borate group offers a materials platform from which intriguing structure and functionality may arise. Herein, we report a new fluorooxoborate, BaB2 O3 F2 , synthesized by introducing the F atoms into the BaO-B2 O3 system. BaB2 O3 F2 exhibits a unique oxyfluoride layer 2 ∞ [B2 O3 F]- and a deep-ultraviolet cutoff edge below 180 nm. The effect of the introduction of F atoms on the structure and optical property of the borate group has been investigated; this should be useful to further expand borate chemistry and materials.

RESUMEN

The first triple-layered borate with edge-sharing BO4 tetrahedra, ß-CsB9 O14 was obtained under vacuum-sealed condition. It represents a new structure type and enriches the structural diversity of borates. Moreover, ß-CsB9 O14 exhibits a short UV cutoff edge and a large birefringence, indicating that it could be regarded as a DUV birefringent crystal.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: To study the effect of early restrictive fluid resuscitation (EFR) on inflammatory and immune factors in patients with severe pelvic fracture (SPF). METHODS: A total of 174 SPF patients in the Department of Orthopaedics, the First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College from July 2015 to June 2018 were involved in this study and divided into EFR group (n = 87) and control group (n = 87) using the random number table method. Conventional fluid resuscitation (CFR) was performed in control group, and EFR was performed in EFR group. The incidences of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) during rescue, successful rescue rate, blood transfusion volume, fluid input, and resuscitation time were compared between the two groups. The parameters including prothrombin time (PT), hematocrit (HCT), platelet (PLT) and blood lactate (BL) at the 4th hour after fluid resuscitation were recorded. The levels of inflammatory factors (TNF-α, IL-6, CRP) and immune factors (CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD4+/CD8+) were compared between the two groups before treatment and 7 days after treatment. The revised acute physiologic and chronic health evaluation system and the sequential organ failure assessment scores were adopted for evaluation before treatment and 7 days after treatment. RESULTS: The incidences of ARDS and MODS during rescue in EFR group were significantly lower than those in control group (p=0.015 and 0.010 respectively), and the successful rescue rate in EFR group was significantly higher than that in control group (p = 0.011). The blood transfusion volume, fluid input, resuscitation time in EFR group were significantly lower than those in control group (p = 0.016, 0.002 and 0.001 respectively). At the 4th hour after fluid resuscitation, PT and BL in EFR group were significantly lower than those in control group (p = 0.021 and 0.003 respectively), while HCT and PLT in EFR group were significantly higher than those in control group (p = 0.016 and 0.021 respectively). On day 7 after treatment, TNF-α, IL-6, CRP and CD8+ in EFR group were significantly lower than those in control group (p = 0.003, 0.004, 0.007 and 0.003 respectively), while CD3+, CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in EFR group were significantly higher than those in control group (p = 0.004, 0.000, 0.007 respectively). On day 7 after treatment, the revised acute physiologic and chronic health evaluation (APACHE) system and the sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) scores in EFR group were significantly lower than those in control group. CONCLUSION: EFR can effectively eliminate inflammatory factors, improve immune function, maintain the stability of blood components, reduce the incidences of ARDS and MODS, and elevate the successful rescue rate in patients with SPF.
