RESUMEN

BackgroundNarrative exposure therapy (NET), an integration of narrative therapy and exposure therapy, has been shown to be effective in relieving the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which can help patients gain a deeper understanding of their trauma and is also considered to be quite safe. PTSD is highly prevalent in children and adolescents, while the effectiveness of NET intervention varies among the subjects. ObjectiveTo systematically evaluate the effectiveness of NET for PTSD in children and adolescents, so as to provide references for the clinical application of NET. MethodsOn August 1, 2022, the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, CINAHL, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), SinoMed, VIP and Wanfang database were searched from their inception to June 2022. Search was conducted with the use of a combination of medical subject heading and free text terms, and randomized controlled trials relevant to NET for PTSD in children and adolescents were collected. Then the quality of the controlled trials was evaluated according to the Cochrane Collaboration's tool for assessing risk of bias (2011), and Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4 software. ResultsNine randomized controlled trials involving 394 children and adolescents with PTSD were included. Meta-analysis showed that NET and relaxation therapy reported comparable symptom relief in PTSD patients within 1 to 3 months after intervention (SMD=0.22, 95% CI: -0.84~1.28) and at 6 months after intervention (SMD=0.21, 95% CI: -0.75~1.17), while NET provided greater PTSD symptom relief than routine therapy both within 1 to 3 months after intervention (SMD=-0.66, 95% CI: -1.04~-0.27) and at 6 months after intervention (SMD=-0.77, 95% CI: -1.36~-0.19), with statistically significant differences. Regarding the alleviation of depressive symptoms, the effect was similar between NET and routine therapy within 1 to 3 months after intervention (SMD=-0.39, 95% CI: -0.98~0.21) and at 6 months after intervention (SMD=-0.74, 95% CI: -2.23~0.75). No statistical difference was demonstrated between NET and routine therapy in relieving psychological distress (SMD=-0.54, 95% CI: -2.14~1.07) and suppressing hyperorexia (SMD=-0.17, 95% CI: -0.54~0.19) 1 to 3 months after intervention. ConclusionNET yields a better outcome and a medium- and long-term effectiveness in alleviating symptoms of PTSD in children and adolescents compared with routine therapy, while it does not offer any significant advantages in improving depression symptoms, psychological distress and hyperorexia.

RESUMEN

Objective:To evaluate the effect of different blood pressure control levels on myocardial work by left ventricular pressure-strain loop (LVPSL) in elderly hypertensive patients. Methods:Retrospectively, 158 elderly patients with hypertension in Shanxi Bethune Hospital from January to June 2017 were randomly divided into standard anti-hypertensive group ( n=75) and intensive anti-hypertensive group ( n=83). Another 48 cases of age and sex matched elderly without cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and other diseases affecting cardiac function were selected as control group. All patients with hypertension underwent echocardiography at baseline, 12 and 24 months after antihypertensive treatment. The parameters of myocardial work, including global work index (GWI), global constructive work (GCW), global wasted work (GWW) and global work efficiency (GWE), were obtained by LVPSL. The changes of myocardial work parameters were compared between the standard group and the intensive group after 12 and 24 months of antihypertensive treatment. Results:①At baseline, GWI, GCW, GWW of the standard group and the intensive group were significantly higher than those of the control group (all P<0.05). ②After 12 and 24 months of antihypertensive treatment, GWI, GCW and GWW in standard and intensive antihypertensive groups decreased continuously ( P<0.05). ③The GWI, GCW and GWW of the intensive antihypertensive group were lower than those of the standard antihypertensive group at 12 and 24 months after antihypertensive treatment ( P<0.05). ④After 12 months of antihypertensive treatment, the reductions of GWI, GCW and GWW in standard and intensive antihypertensive groups were greater than those in 24 and 12 months of antihypertensive treatment (all P<0.05), and the reductions of GWI, GCW and GWW in intensive antihypertensive group were greater than those in standard antihypertensive group (all P<0.05). Conclusions:Left ventricular systolic function decreases and myocardial work increases in elderly hypertensive patients. Left ventricular systolic function improves after antihypertensive treatment, and the improvement of intensive antihypertensive is more obvious than that of standard antihypertensive treatment.

RESUMEN

ObjectiveTo explore the mechanism of Renshen Baidusan in repairing intestinal mucosa in ulcerative colitis (UC) by regulating autophagy to scavenge peroxides. MethodThe mouse model of UC was induced by free drinking of 3.0% dextran sulphate sodium (DSS) solution. Sixty male C57BL/6J mice were randomized into normal, model, mesalazine (0.3 g·kg-1), and high-, medium-, and low-dose (12.35, 8.22, 4.11 g·kg-1, respectively) Renshen Baidusan groups (n=10). The mice were administrated with corresponding drugs by gavage for 7 consecutive days. The colon tissue was stained with hematoxylin-eosin (HE) to reveal the pathological changes, and Alcian blue-Periodic acid Scheff (PAS/AB) staining was employed to observe the goblet cell changes. The fluorescence expression of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the colon tissue was detected by the immunofluorescence assay. The activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) were measured by the biochemical methods. Western blot was employed to determine the expression levels of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 (LC3), leucine-rich repeat-containing G protein-coupled receptor 5 (LGR5), and p62. ResultDestroyed mucosal epithelial structure, intestinal gland destruction, loss of goblet cells, and massive infiltration of inflammatory cells appeared in the model group. Compared with the normal group, the model group showed increased tissue damage injury (TDI) score of the colon tissue, decreased SOD activity and LC3Ⅱ/Ⅰ, PCNA value, and elevated levels of p62, MDA, ROS, and LGR5 (P<0.05). Compared with the model group, different doses of Renshen Baidusan decreased the TDI score, promoted the generation of new goblet cells, elevated the levels of PCNA, LGR5, SOD, and LC3Ⅱ/Ⅰ, and lowered the levels of p62, MDA, and ROS (P<0.05). Moreover, the low dose group showed the best performance (P<0.05). ConclusionRenshen Baidusan can promote intestinal epithelial repair by activating intestinal autophagy, alleviating oxidative stress, and promoting intestinal stem cell proliferation and differentiation.

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the expression level of calcitonin gene-related peptide-receptor component protein (CRCP) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissue and adjacent tissue and its association with the clinicopathological features and prognosis of patients. Methods HCC and adjacent tissue samples were collected from 79 HCC patients who underwent surgical resection in Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital, Navy Medical University, from June 2003 to September 2009. Tissue microarray was prepared, and immunohistochemistry was used for quantitative analysis. Related proteins were extracted and measured by Western blot, and the expression of CRCP was compared between HCC tissue and adjacent tissue. The chi-square test was used for comparison of categorical data between groups. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was performed to obtain the area under the ROC curve (AUC), and goodness of fit was evaluated. Youden index was used to determine the optimal cut-off value. and the Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was used to analyze the association of CRCP expression with the recurrence and prognosis of HCC, and the log rank test was used for comparison between the two groups. Results Among the 79 HCC patients, there were 67 male patients and 12 female patients, with an age of 10-72 years, and 20 patients had portal vein tumor thrombus. As for pathological grade, 1 had grade 4 HCC, 61 had grade 3 HCC, and 17 had grade 2 HCC; as for BCLC stage, 5 had BCLC stage 0 HCC, 55 had BCLC stage A HCC, 11 had BCLC stage B HCC, and 8 had BCLC stage C HCC. Western blot showed that the expression level of CRCP in HCC tissue was lower than that in adjacent tissue in 4 patients, and immunohistochemistry showed that the expression level of CRCP in HCC tissue was significantly lower than that in adjacent tissue in 75.9% of the patients. Low CRCP expression was associated with CK19 positivity, incomplete tumor capsule, presence of portal vein tumor thrombus, and high pathological grade ( χ 2 =6.410, 4.829, 9.319, and 9.083, all P < 0.05). Compared with the low CRCP expression group, the high CRCP expression group had a significantly longer overall survival time and a significantly lower recurrence rate ( P < 0.001 and P =0.009). Conclusion Patients with low CRCP expression in HCC tissue tend to have a poorer prognosis than those with high CRCP expression, and CRCP may participate in the development, progression, and metastasis of HCC, suggesting that this molecule can be used as a potential biomarker to predict the prognosis of HCC patients.

RESUMEN

Lipids are important components of living organisms that participate in and regulate a variety of life activities. Lipids in plants also play important physiological functions in response to a variety of abiotic stresses (e.g. salt stress, drought stress, temperature stress). However, most research on lipids focused on animal cells and medical fields, while the functions of lipids in plants were overlooked. With the rapid development of "omics" technologies and biotechnology, the lipidomics has received much attention in recent years because it can reveal the composition and function of lipids in a deep and comprehensive way. This review summarizes the recent advances in the functions and classification of lipids, the development of lipidomics technology, and the responses of plant lipids against drought stress, salt stress and temperature stress. In addition, challenges and prospects were proposed for future lipidomics research and further exploration of the physiological functions of lipids in plant stress resistance.

RESUMEN

The subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) caused by ruptured intracranial aneurysms (IAs) is always a lethality. Increasing evidence suggests a familiar aggregation of IA occurrence, which may relate to genetics and there might be an increasing number of IAs in IA families when mutation of disease genes is aggregating. With the progress in the study of familiar intracranial aneurysms (FIAs), a large number of chromosome fragments are found to be related with IAs, such as 1p36, 5q31, 7q11, 14q22, 17cen, 19q13, Xp22. Further studies indicated that mutation of several genes could be the cause of FIAs, including TNFRSF13B, ANRIL, SOX17, ADAMTS15, RNF213 and LOXL2. The independent genetic epidemiologic study on aneurysm families can be used to discover the related genes more effectively, and to explore the mechanism of occurrence of IAs. It's also the precondition for the prevention of disease.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have revealed that common variants on or near EDNRA, HDAC9, SOX17, RP1, CDKN2B-AS1, and RBBP8 genes are associated with intracranial aneurysm (IA) in European or Japanese populations. However, due to population heterogeneity, whether these loci are associated with IA pathogenesis in Chinese individuals is still unknown. The purpose of this study was to investigate associations among GWAS-identified loci and risk of IA in a Chinese population. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 765 individuals (including 230 IA patients and 535 controls) were involved in this study. Twelve single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of candidate loci were genotyped using the Sequenom MassARRAY platform. Associations were analyzed using univariate or multivariate logistic regression analysis. RESULTS: SNPs in CDKN2B-AS1 (especially rs10757272) showed significant associations with IA in dominant and additive models [odds ratio (OR), 2.99 and 1.43; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.44–6.24 and 1.10–1.86, respectively]. A SNP near HDAC9 (rs10230207) was associated with IA in the dominant model (OR, 1.42; 95% CI, 1.01–1.99). One SNP near RP1 (rs1072737) showed a protective effect on IA in the dominant model (OR, 0.66; 95% CI, 0.46–0.95), while another SNP in RP1 (rs9298506) showed a risk effect on IA in a recessive model (OR, 3.82; 95% CI, 1.84–7.91). No associations were observed among common variants near EDNRA, SOX17, or RBBP8 and IA. CONCLUSION: These data partially confirmed earlier results and showed that variants in CDKN2B-AS1, RP1, and HDAC9 could be genetic susceptibility factors for IA in a Chinese population.

RESUMEN

BackgroundThe pandemic of COVID-19 is causing a crisis in public health, food systems, and employment. Vaccination is considered as one of the most effective ways for containing the pandemic, but widespread vaccine hesitation on social media may curtail uptake progress. Fully comprehending public sentiment towards the COVID-19 vaccine is critical to building confidence on the vaccines and achieving herd immunity, especially in Japan with inadequate vaccine confidence. ObjectiveThis study aims to explore the opinion and sentiment towards the COVID-19 vaccine in Japanese tweets, before and at the beginning of large-scale vaccinations. MethodsWe collected 144,101 Japanese tweets containing COVID-19 vaccine-related keywords between August 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021. We visualized the trend of number of tweets and identified the critical events that triggered a surge and provided high-frequency unigram and bigram tokens. Also, we performed sentiment analysis and calculated the correlation of number of tweets and positive/negative sentiments with infection, death, and vaccinated cases. we also used the latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) model to identify topics of tweets. In addition, we conducted analysis on three vaccine brands (Pfizer/Moderna/AstraZeneca). ResultsDaily number of tweets continued growing and the growth accelerated since the large-scale vaccinations in Japan. The sentiment of around 85% tweets were neutral, and the negative sentiment overwhelmed the positive sentiment in the other tweets. Number of tweets strongly correlated (r[≥]0.5) with infection/death/vaccinated cases, and the number of negative tweets correlated strongly with the number of infection/death cases but weakened after the first vaccination in Japan. LDA identified three public-concerned topics: vaccine appointment and distribution strategy; Different vaccines development progress and approval status of countries; Side effects and effectiveness against mutated viruses. Among vaccines of the three manufactures, Pfizer won the most attention and Moderna the least. ConclusionsOur findings indicated that negative sentiment towards vaccines dominated than positive sentiment in Japan. Changes in number of tweets and sentiments might be driven by critical events related to the COVID-19 vaccine, and negative sentiment continued increasing when numerous adverse accidents occurred at the beginning of large-scale vaccinations. Under the negative sentiment, the concerns of three vaccine brands remains effectiveness and safety with slight differences. The policymakers should provide more evidence about the effectiveness and safety of vaccines and optimize the process of vaccinations.

RESUMEN

BackgroundThe global public health and socioeconomic impacts of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been substantial, making herd immunity by COVID-19 vaccination an important factor for protecting people and retrieving the economy. Among all the countries, Japan became one of the countries with the highest COVID-19 vaccination rate in several months, although the vaccine confidence in Japan is the lowest worldwide. ObjectiveWe attempted to find the reasons for the rapid coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination in Japan under the lowest vaccine confidence in the world by Twitter analysis. Materials and methodsWe downloaded COVID-19 related Japanese tweets from a large-scale public COVID-19 Twitter chatter dataset within the timeline of February 1, 2021 and September 30, 2021. The daily number of vaccination cases was collected from the official website of the Prime Ministers Office of Japan. After preprocessing, we applied unigram and bigram token analysis, then calculated the cross correlation and Pearson correlation coefficient (r) between the term frequency and daily vaccination cases. Then we identified vaccine sentiments and emotions of tweets and used the topic modeling to look deeper into the dominant emotions. ResultsWe selected 190,697 vaccine-related tweets after filtering. By n-gram token analysis, we discovered the top unigrams and bigrams over the whole period. In all the combinations of the top six unigrams, tweets with both keywords "reserve" and "venue" showed the largest r = 0.912 (P < 0.001) with the daily vaccination cases. In sentiment analysis, negative sentiment overwhelmed positive sentiment, and fear was the dominant emotion across the period. For the latent Dirichlet allocation model on tweets with fear emotion, the two topics were identified as "infect" and "vaccine confidence". The expectation of the number of tweets generated from topic "infect" was larger than "vaccine confidence." ConclusionOur work indicated that awareness of the danger of COVID-19 might increase the willingness to get vaccinated; With sufficient vaccine supply, effective vaccine reservation information delivery may be an important factor for people to get vaccinated; We didnt find evidence for increased vaccine confidence in Japan during the period in our research. We recommend policymakers to share fair and prompt information about the infectious diseases and vaccination, and make efforts on smoother delivery of vaccine-reservation information.

RESUMEN

BackgroundCOVID-19 pandemic affected common disease infections, while the impact on hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is unclear. Google Trends data is beneficial in approximately real-time statistics and easily accessed, expecting to be used for infection explanation from information-seeking behavior perspectives. We aimed to explain HFMD cases before and during COVID-19 using Google Trends data. MethodsHFMD cases were obtained from the National Institute of Infectious Disease, and Google search data from 2009 to 2021 was downloaded using Google Trends in Japan. Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated between HFMD cases and the search topic "HFMD" from 2009 to 2021. Japanese tweets containing "HFMD" were retrieved to select search terms for further analysis. Search terms were retained with counts larger than 1000 and belonging to ranges of infection sources, susceptible sites, susceptible populations, symptoms, treatment, preventive measures, and identified diseases. Cross-correlation analyses were conducted to detect lag changes between HFMD cases and HFMD search terms before and during COVID-19. Multiple linear regressions with backward elimination processing were used to identify the most significant terms for HFMD explanation. ResultsHFMD cases and Google search volume peaked around July in most years without 2020 and 2021. The search topic "HFMD" presented strong correlations with HFMD cases except in 2020 when COVID-19 outbroke. In addition, differences in lags for 73 (72.3%) search terms were negative, might indicating increasing public awareness of HFMD infections during the COVID-19 pandemic. Results of multiple linear regression demonstrated that significant search terms contained the same meanings but expanded informative search content during COVID-19. ConclusionsSignificant terms for HFMD cases explanation before and during COVID-19 were different. The awareness of HFMD infection in Japan may improve during the COVID-19 pandemic. Continuous monitoring is important to promote public health and prevent resurgence. Public interest reflected in information-seeking behavior can be helpful for public health surveillance.
