RESUMEN

In Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana), stomatal closure mediated by abscisic acid (ABA) is redundantly controlled by ABA receptor family proteins (PYRABACTIN RESISTANCE 1 [PYR1]/PYR1-LIKE [PYLs]) and subclass III SUCROSE NONFERMENTING 1 (SNF1)-RELATED PROTEIN KINASES 2 (SnRK2s). Among these proteins, the roles of PYR1, PYL2, and SnRK2.6 are more dominant. A recent discovery showed that ABA-induced accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in mitochondria promotes stomatal closure. By analyzing stomatal movements in an array of single and higher order mutants, we revealed that the mitochondrial protein VOLTAGE-DEPENDENT ANION CHANNEL 3 (VDAC3) jointly regulates ABA-mediated stomatal closure with a specialized set of PYLs and SnRK2s by affecting cellular and mitochondrial ROS accumulation. VDAC3 interacted with 9 PYLs and all 3 subclass III SnRK2s. Single mutation in VDAC3, PYLs (except PYR1 and PYL2), or SnRK2.2/2.3 had little effect on ABA-mediated stomatal closure. However, knocking out PYR1, PYL1/2/4/8, or SnRK2.2/2.3 in vdac3 mutants resulted in significantly delayed or attenuated ABA-mediated stomatal closure, despite the presence of other PYLs or SnRK2s conferring redundant functions. We found that cellular and mitochondrial accumulation of ROS induced by ABA was altered in vdac3pyl1 mutants. Moreover, H2O2 treatment restored ABA-induced stomatal closure in mutants with decreased stomatal sensitivity to ABA. Our work reveals that VDAC3 ensures redundant control of ABA-mediated stomatal closure by canonical ABA signaling components.

RESUMEN

The increasing influence of technology on education has attracted considerable attention. This study aims to determine the current status and development trends of educational technologies. At first, we used COOC, HistCite, and VOSviewer to systematically review 1562 educational articles published in Computers in Human Behavior (CHB) from 2004 to 2022. Based on bibliometrics, this study identified publication trends, research forces, collaboration, key articles, and research themes. Then, we visualized the technologies predicted by 30 Horizon Reports and combined them with CHB educational research to evaluate the accuracy of the identified trends. The results revealed an immediate influence of AI technology, extended reality and digital resources on education, a moderate influence of educational tools and games, and a delayed influence of data management and maker technology. In addition, human psychology and behavior in technological environment may be important themes in the future. In conclusion, this study not only proposes a comparative analysis of leading reports and representative literature, but also provides guidance for future research and development in educational technology.

RESUMEN

Background: Intraoperative hypotension (IOH) is a common complication occurring in surgical practice. This study aims to comprehensively review the collaboration and impact of countries, institutions, authors, journals, keywords, and critical papers on intraoperative hypotension from the perspective of bibliometric, and to evaluate the evolution of knowledge structure clustering and identify research hotspots and emerging topics. Methods: Articles and reviews related to IOH published from 2004 to 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. Bibliometric analyses and visualization were conducted on Excel, CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Bibliometrix (R-Tool of R-Studio). Results: A total of 1,784 articles and reviews were included from 2004 to 2022. The number of articles on IOH gradually increased in the past few years, and peaked in 2021. These publications were chiefly from 1,938 institutions in 40 countries, led by America and China in publications. Sessler Daniel I published the most papers and enjoyed the highest number of citations. Analysis of the journals with the most outputs showed that most journals concentrated on perioperative medicine and clinical anesthesiology. Delirium, acute kidney injury and vasoconstrictor agents are the current and developing research hotspots. The keywords "Acute kidney injury", "postoperative complication", "machine learning", "risk factors" and "hemodynamic instability" may also become new trends and focuses of the near future research. Conclusion: This study uses bibliometrics and visualization methods to comprehensively review the research on intraoperative hypotension, which is helpful for scholars to better understand the dynamic evolution of IOH and provide directions for future research.

RESUMEN

The disposal of organic waste by the biocomposting of black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) has drawn broad attention. However, the discrepancies in heavy metal immobilization between BSFL biocomposting with different inoculation densities and aerobic composting need to be further researched. In this study, BSFL with inoculation densities of 0.08%, 0.24% and 0.40% was added to swine manure to investigate its influence on heavy metal bioaccumulation and bioavailability. The physicochemical properties, BSFL growth performance and amino acid contents were measured. The results showed that the germination index, total prepupal yield and bioavailable fraction removal rate (%) of Cr and Pb at an inoculation density of 0.40% of BSFL were the highest among all of the BSFL biocomposting groups. Although the bioaccumulation factor and heavy metal (Cd, Cr, Cu and Zn) concentrations of the BSFL body from swine manure with inoculation densities of 0.24% and 0.40% of BSFL were similar, the BSFL inoculation density of 0.40% had the best absorption effect on these heavy metals in terms of total prepupal yield. Therefore, this study provides a basis for exploring the optimal inoculation density of BSFL biocomposting to reduce the harmful effects of heavy metals in swine manure.

RESUMEN

Purpose: This study explored whether instructional characteristics, learner characteristics, family socioeconomic status, and gender influence creativity in the context of programming education in China. Methods: A total of 851 upper-secondary-school students in Beijing, China, were surveyed using the Creativity Scale, Programming Learning Scale, Programming Teaching Scale and Family Socioeconomic Status Questionnaire. SPSS (version 22) was used for correlation analysis, t-test and regression analysis. Results: (1) Teachers' programming teaching method and management; students' programming learning approach, attitude, and engagement; gender; and family economic capital were all significantly associated with creativity. (2) There were significant differences between males and females in terms of creativity, programming learning approach and programming learning attitude. (3) Learner attitudes, engagement, and approach, and their family economic capital, were strong predictors of creativity, with the strongest influence of learners' attitudes to programming learning and weaker influence of family economic capital. Conclusion: The main factors that influence creativity in the context of programming education are programming teaching method, programming teaching management, programming learning approach, programming learning attitude, programming learning engagement and family economic capital. Among these, learner factors (attitude, engagement, and approach) and family economic capital are the key factors influencing creativity. These findings provide a basis for improving the creativity of Chinese programming learners and inspire teachers to consider learner factors and gender differences as they design and manage their instruction. Furthermore, the influence of family economic capital on the creativity of learners cannot be ignored.

RESUMEN

Anaerobic digestion (AD) is regarded as an effective treatment to stabilize organic materials and recycle the energy in pig manure. In this study, 0%, 3%, 5%, and 7% biochar (based on dry weight) were added to pig manure to investigate its influence on improving biogas production and reducing heavy metal bioavailability. The potential ecological risk of heavy metals (namely Mn, Zn, Cu, Ni, As, Cd, Pb, and Cr) in digestates was also assessed. Results show that the methane yield was significantly (P < 0.05) increased by 26.7%, 23.0%, and 26.4% following addition of 3%, 5%, and 7% biochar, respectively. Moreover, there was a significant change in the heavy metal speciation in amendment each group. The 5% biochar group showed the highest passivation rate of Ni, As, and Pb, while the highest passivation rate of Cd, Cr, Mn, and Zn was observed with 7% biochar. Although the anaerobic digestion process slightly increased the ecological risk of heavy metals, all tested digestates were still classified as a moderate risk. Results of this study can provide a reference for the treatment of heavy metal pollution in large- and medium-sized anaerobic digesters treating pig manure.
