RESUMEN

Cholesterol metabolism is tightly associated with colorectal cancer (CRC). Nevertheless, the clinical benefit of statins, the inhibitor of cholesterol biogenesis mevalonate (MVA) pathway, is inconclusive, possibly because of a lack of patient stratification criteria. Here, we describe that YAP-mediated zinc finger MYND-type containing 8 (ZMYND8) expression sensitizes intestinal tumors to the inhibition of the MVA pathway. We show that the oncogenic activity of YAP relies largely on ZMYND8 to enhance intracellular de novo cholesterol biogenesis. Disruption of the ZMYND8-dependent MVA pathway greatly restricts the self-renewal capacity of Lgr5+ intestinal stem cells (ISCs) and intestinal tumorigenesis. Mechanistically, ZMYND8 and SREBP2 drive the enhancer-promoter interaction to facilitate the recruitment of Mediator complex, thus upregulating MVA pathway genes. Together, our results establish that the epigenetic reader ZMYND8 endows YAP-high intestinal cancer with metabolic vulnerability.

RESUMEN

Ferroelectricity, which has diverse important applications such as memory elements, capacitors, and sensors, was first discovered in a molecular compound, Rochelle salt, in 1920 by Valasek. Owing to their superiorities of lightweight, biocompatibility, structural tunability, mechanical flexibility, etc., the past decade has witnessed the renaissance of molecular ferroelectrics as promising complementary materials to commercial inorganic ferroelectrics. Thus, on the 100th anniversary of ferroelectricity, it is an opportune time to look into the future, specifically into how to push the boundaries of material design in molecular ferroelectric systems and finally overcome the hurdles to their commercialization. Herein, we present a comprehensive and accessible review of the appealing development of molecular ferroelectrics over the past 10 years, with an emphasis on their structural diversity, chemical design, exceptional properties, and potential applications. We believe that it will inspire intense, combined research efforts to enrich the family of high-performance molecular ferroelectrics and attract widespread interest from physicists and chemists to better understand the structure-function relationships governing improved applied functional device engineering.

The purpose of this study was to explore the differential expression of Pax3, Rad51 and VEGF-C in esophageal gastric junction adenocarcinoma and distal gastric adenocarcinoma and their relationship with cancer occurrence and development. 57 patients with gastric cancer were included and divided into esophageal gastric junction adenocarcinoma group (n=28) and distal gastric adenocarcinoma group (n=29). The positive expressions of Pax3, Rad51 and VEGF-C in the control group were lower than those in the esophageal gastric junction adenocarcinoma group and distal gastric adenocarcinoma group respectively (P<0.05). In esophageal gastric junction adenocarcinoma with low differentiation, positive expressions of Pax3, Rad51, and VEGF-C surpassed those in high/medium differentiation (P<0.05). Serosa-infiltrated cases exhibited higher Pax3 and Rad51 expressions compared to non-infiltrated cases (P<0.05). Rad51 and VEGF-C positivity were notably elevated in cases with lymph node metastasis compared to those without (P<0.05). Distal gastric adenocarcinoma displayed higher VEGF expression than middle/low differentiated adenocarcinomas. Rad51 expression was significantly higher in women than in men (P<0.05). The positive rates of Pax3, Rad51, and VEGF-C were markedly increased in esophageal gastric junction adenocarcinoma and distal gastric adenocarcinoma compared to normal gastric tissue, and these were associated with the degree of differentiation, depth of invasion, and lymph node metastasis in patients. Particularly, Rad51 exhibited a positive correlation with cancer cell differentiation, invasion depth, and lymph node metastasis in cancer tissue.

Multifarious molecular ferroelectrics with multipolar axial characteristics have emerged in recent years, enriching the scenarios for energy harvesting, sensing, and information processing. The increased polar axes have enhanced the urgency of distinguishing different polarization states in material design, mechanism exploration, etc. However, conventional methods hardly meet the requirements of in situ, fast, microscale, contactless, and nondestructive features due to their inherent limitations. Herein, SHG polarimetry is introduced to probe the multioriented polarizations on a nanosized multiaxial molecular ferroelectric, i.e., TMCM-CdCl3 nanoplates, as an example. Combined with the analysis of the second-order susceptibility tensor, SHG polarimetry could serve as an effective method to detect the polarization orders and domain distributions of molecular ferroelectrics. Profiting from the full-optical feature, SHG polarimetry can even be performed on samples covered by transparent mediums, 2D materials, or thin metal electrodes. Our research might spark further fundamental studies and expand the application boundaries of next-generation ferroelectric materials.

Ferroelectric domains and domain walls are unique characteristics of ferroelectric materials. Among them, charged domain walls (CDWs) are a special kind of peculiar microstructure that highly improve conductivity, piezoelectricity, and photovoltaic efficiency. Thus, CDWs are believed to be the key to ferroelectrics' future application in fields of energy, sensing, information storage, and so forth. Studies on CDWs are one of the most attractive directions in conventional inorganic ferroelectric ceramics. However, in newly emerged molecular ferroelectrics, which have advantages such as lightweight, easy preparation, simple film fabrication, mechanical flexibility, and biocompatibility, CDWs are rarely observed due to the lack of free charges. In inorganic ferroelectrics, doping is a traditional method to induce free charges, but for molecular ferroelectrics fabricated by solution processes, doping usually causes phase separation or phase transition, which destabilizes or removes ferroelectricity. To realize stable CDWs in molecular systems, we designed and synthesized an n-type molecular ferroelectric, 1-adamantanammonium hydroiodate. In this compound, negative charges are induced by defects in the I- vacancy, and CDWs can be achieved. Nanometer-scale CDWs that are stable at temperatures as high as 373 K can be "written" precisely by an electrically biased metal tip. More importantly, this is the first time that the charge diffusion of CDWs at variable temperatures has been investigated in molecular ferroelectrics. This work provides a new design strategy for n-type molecular ferroelectrics and may shed light on their future applications in flexible electronics, microsensors, and so forth.

We have developed an improved cyanide-free strategy for the synthesis of glycosyl carboxylic acids, employing stereoselective C-vinyl glycosylation and oxidative cleavage of C-vinyl glycosides as key steps. Compared to our previous work, the amount of NaIO4 required for the oxidative cleavage step is reduced significantly from 18 equivalents to 4.5 equivalents. This modification not only is advantageous in terms of operation and costs but also avoids the over-oxidation problem, thus greatly expanding the substrate scope, which is evidenced by the fact that 10 out of 21 glycosyl carboxylic acids synthesized are undocumented. With differently O5-protected furanosyl acids in hand, we demonstrate that an electron-rich protecting group is beneficial for the decarboxylative arylation of furanosyl carboxylic acids. This represents a rare example of protecting groups affecting the reaction efficiency in radical C-glycosylation. As C-vinyl glycosides can be prepared stereoselectively and the oxidative step is stereoretentive, the approach provides an effective means to access 1,2-trans or 1,2-cis glycosyl acids, which would be a valuable alternative to the cyanide-based synthesis of glycosyl carboxylic acids.

The aim of this study was to solve the frequently occurring rotor-stator rub-impact fault in aero-engines without causing a significant reduction in efficiency. We proposed a fault mitigation scheme, using shape memory alloy (SMA) wire, whereby the tip clearance between the rotor and the stator is adjusted. In this scheme, an acoustic emission (AE) sensor is utilized to monitor the rub-impact fault. An active control actuator is designed with pre-strained two-way SMA wires, driven by an electric current via an Arduino control board, to mitigate the rub-impact fault once it occurs. In order to investigate the feasibility of the proposed scheme, a series of tests on the material properties of NiTi wires, including heating response rate, ultimate strain, free recovery rate, and restoring force, were carried out. A prototype of the actuator was designed, manufactured, and tested under various conditions. The experimental result verifies that the proposed scheme has the potential to mitigate or eliminate the rotor-stator rub-impact fault in aero-engines.

As one of the vital shrubs growing in crusted areas in China, Artemisia ordosica (belonging to the Asteraceae family) is abundant in essential oil, and its aerial part's essential oil has been reported to have some biological activities during the flowering and fruit set stage, and has been used in folk medicine. However, little is known about the biological activities of its aerial part's essential oil during the vegetative period. Thus, the purpose of this work was to determine the chemical composition and evaluate the antioxidant and antibacterial potencies of the essential oil extracted from A. ordosica aerial parts during the vegetative stage. Gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) revealed that spathulenol (9.93%) and α-curcumene (9.24%), both sesquiterpenes, were the most abundant of the 74 chemical constituents detected in the essential oil of A. ordosica. The antioxidant activity of the essential oil was found to be relatively moderate against 2,2-diphenylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS), and hydroxyl radical (OH●) radicals. The essential oil exhibited strong antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella abony and Escherichia coli, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of 2.5, 5, and 10 µL/mL, respectively. The results indicate that the essential oil of A. ordosica possesses notable antibacterial properties as well as antioxidant capability and can thus be employed as a natural ingredient which can be used as a substitute for antibiotics in the animal feed industry. However, in vivo toxicological studies are still required to determine the safety level and beneficial outcomes of the A. ordosica essential oil for future utilization.

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites (OIHPs) hold a great potential for scientific and technological endeavors in the field of ferroelectrics, solar cells, and electroluminescent devices, because of their structural diversity, low cost of manufacture, and ease of fabrication. However, lead iodide perovskite ferroelectrics with narrow band gap have rarely been reported. Here, we present a new two-dimensional (2D) layered lead iodide perovskite ferroelectric, (4,4-DFHHA)2PbI4 (4,4-DFHHA = 4,4-difluorohexahydroazepine), with a spontaneous polarization (Ps) of 1.1 µC/cm2 at room temperature, a direct bandgap of 2.32 eV, and a high Curie temperature Tc of 454 K (beyond that of BaTiO3, 393 K). On the basis of the nonferroelectrics (HHA)I, (4-FHHA)I, and (4,4-DFHHA)I (HHA = hexahydroazepine, 4-FHHA = 4-fluorohexahydroazepine), we assembled them with PbI2 to form lead iodide perovskites. Because the space between adjacent one-dimensional (1D) chains is relatively large and the confinement effect is not obvious, the cations are still in a disordered state, and 1D OIHPs (HHA)PbI3 and (4-FHHA)PbI3 are also nonferroelectrics at room temperature. In the confined environment of the 2D PbI42- framework for (4,4-DFHHA)2PbI4, the 4,4-DFHHA cations become ordered, and their asymmetric distribution leads to the spontaneous polarization. This work offers an efficient strategy for enriching the family of lead iodide perovskite ferroelectrics through the confinement effect and should inspire further exploration of the interplay between ferroelectricity and photovoltaics.

Molecular ferroelectrics are attracting tremendous interest because of their easy and environmental-friendly processing, low acoustic impedance, and mechanical flexibility. Their ferroelectric mechanism is mainly ascribed to the order-disorder transition of molecules such as spherical 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2] octane (DABCO) and quinuclidine. Here, we present two molecular ferroelectrics, [HDABCO][TFSA] and its deuterated one [DDABCO][TFSA] (TFSA = bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)ammonium), whose ferroelectricity is triggered by the proton ordering. This is the first time that the protons show a thermally fluctuated bistability with a double-well potential in DABCO-based ferroelectrics. A large deuterium isotope effect (ΔT = ∼53 K) not only proves that they are hydrogen-bonded ferroelectrics but also extends the ferroelectric working temperature range to room temperature. The superfast polarization switching of 100 kHz and ultralow coercive voltage of 1 V (far less than 5 V required for commercially available ferroelectric devices), benefiting from the low energy for proton transfer, allow [DDABCO][TFSA] a great potential for memory devices with low-voltage, high-speed operation. This work should inspire further exploration of hydrogen-bonded molecular ferroelectrics for flexible and wearable devices with the low-power information storage.

A lytic Pseudomonas aeruginosa phage vB_PaeP_LP14 belonging to the family Podoviridae was isolated from infected mink. The microbiological characterization revealed that LP14 was stable at 40 to 50 °C and stable over a broad range of pH (5 to 12). The latent period was 5 min, and the burst size was 785 pfu/infected cell. The whole-genome sequencing showed that LP14 was a dsDNA virus and has a genome of 73,080 bp. The genome contained 93 predicted open reading frames (ORFs), 17 of which have known functions including DNA replication and modification, transcriptional regulation, structural and packaging proteins, and host cell lysis. No tRNA genes were identified. BLASTn analysis revealed that phage LP14 had a high-sequence identity (96%) with P. aeruginosa phage YH6. Both morphological characterization and genome annotation indicate that phage LP14 is a memberof the family Podoviridae genus Litunavirus. The study of phage LP14 will provide basic information for further research on treatment of P. aeruginosa infections.

Epithelial barrier disruption is a major cause of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD); however, the mechanism through which epigenetic regulation modulates intestinal epithelial integrity remains largely undefined. Here we show that EZH2, the catalytic subunit of polycomb repressive complex (PRC2), is indispensable for maintaining epithelial cell barrier integrity and homeostasis under inflammatory conditions. In accordance with reduced EZH2 expression in patients, the inactivation of EZH2 in IECs sensitizes mice to DSS- and TNBS-induced experimental colitis. Conversely, EZH2 overexpression in the intestinal epithelium renders mice more resistant to colitis. Mechanistically, the genes encoding TRAF2/5 are held in a finely tuned bivalent status under inflammatory conditions. EZH2 deficiency potentiates the expression of these genes to enhance TNFα-induced NF-κB signaling, thereby leading to uncontrolled inflammation. More importantly, we show that EZH2 depletion compromises the protective role of NF-κB signaling in cell survival by directly up-regulating ITCH, a well-known E3 ligase that degrades the c-FLIP protein. Thus, our findings highlight an epigenetic mechanism by which EZH2 integrates the multifaceted effects of TNFα signaling to promote the inflammatory response and apoptosis in colitis.

BACKGROUND: National health surveys, such as the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) and the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), collect data on cancer screening and smoking-related measures in the US noninstitutionalized population. These surveys are designed to produce reliable estimates at the national and state levels. However, county-level data are often needed for cancer surveillance and related research. METHODS: To use the large sample sizes of BRFSS and the high response rates and better coverage of NHIS, we applied multilevel models that combined information from both surveys. We also used relevant sources such as census and administrative records. By using these methods, we generated estimates for several cancer risk factors and screening behaviors that are more precise than design-based estimates. RESULTS: We produced reliable, modeled estimates for 11 outcomes related to smoking and to screening for female breast cancer, cervical cancer, and colorectal cancer. The estimates were produced for 3,112 counties in the United States for the data period from 2008 through 2010. CONCLUSION: The modeled estimates corrected for potential noncoverage bias and nonresponse bias in the BRFSS and reduced the variability in NHIS estimates that is attributable to small sample size. The small area estimates produced in this study can serve as a useful resource to the cancer surveillance community.

The X-site ion in organic-inorganic hybrid ABX3 perovskites (OHPs) varies from halide ion to bridging linkers like HCOO- , N3 - , NO2 - , and CN- . However, no nitrite-based OHP ferroelectrics have been reported so far. Now, based on non-ferroelectric [(CH3 )4 N][Ni(NO2 )3 ], through the combined methodologies of quasi-spherical shape, hydrogen bonding functionality, and H/F substitution, we have successfully synthesized an OHP ferroelectric, [FMeTP][Ni(NO2 )3 ] (FMeTP=N-fluoromethyl tropine). As an unprecedented nitrite-based OHP ferroelectric, the well-designed [FMeTP][Ni(NO2 )3 ] undergoes the ferroelectric phase transition at 400 K with an Aizu notation of 6/mmmFm, showing multiaxial ferroelectric characteristics. This work is a great step towards not only enriching the molecular ferroelectric families but also accelerating the potential practical applications.

It is known that CH3NH3PbI3 is particularly promising for next-generation solar devices; therefore, molecular perovskite structures have recently received extraordinary attention from the academic community because of their potential in producing unique physical properties. However, although great efforts have been made, molecular ferroelectrics with three-dimensional (3D) perovskite structures are still rare. So far, reported perovskite-like molecular ferroelectrics are basically one- or two-dimensional, significantly deviating from the inorganic perovskite ferroelectrics. Thus, their ferroelectric properties have to be greatly improved to meet the requirements of practical applications. Here, we report a 3D molecular perovskite ferroelectric: (3-ammoniopyrrolidinium)RbBr3 [(AP)RbBr3], with a high Curie temperature (Tc = 440 K) beyond that of BaTiO3. To the best of our knowledge, such above-room-temperature ferroelectricity in the 3D molecular perovskite compound is unprecedented. Furthermore, (AP)RbBr3 has great potential for applications due to its high thermal stability, ultrafast polarization reversal (greater than 20 kHz), and fascinating multiaxial characteristic. This finding opens a new avenue to the design and controllable synthesis of molecular ferroelectric perovskites, where the metal ion, halogen ion, and organic cation can be easily tuned.

Although recommended approaches to CKD management are achieved less often in Hispanics than in non-Hispanics, whether long-term outcomes differ between these groups is unclear. In a prospective longitudinal analysis of participants enrolled into the Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort (CRIC) and Hispanic-CRIC Studies, we used Cox proportional hazards models to determine the association between race/ethnicity, CKD progression (50% eGFR loss or incident ESRD), incident ESRD, and all-cause mortality, and linear mixed-effects models to assess differences in eGFR slope. Among 3785 participants, 13% were Hispanic, 43% were non-Hispanic white (NHW), and 44% were non-Hispanic black (NHB). Over a median follow-up of 5.1 years for Hispanics and 6.8 years for non-Hispanics, 27.6% of all participants had CKD progression, 21.3% reached incident ESRD, and 18.3% died. Hispanics had significantly higher rates of CKD progression, incident ESRD, and mean annual decline in eGFR than did NHW (P<0.05) but not NHB. Hispanics had a mortality rate similar to that of NHW but lower than that of NHB (P<0.05). In adjusted analyses, the risk of CKD progression did not differ between Hispanics and NHW or NHB. However, among nondiabetic participants, compared with NHB, Hispanics had a lower risk of CKD progression (hazard ratio, 0.61; 95% confidence interval, 0.39 to 0.95) and incident ESRD (hazard ratio, 0.50; 95% confidence interval, 0.30 to 0.84). At higher levels of urine protein, Hispanics had a significantly lower risk of mortality than did non-Hispanics (P<0.05). Thus, important differences in CKD progression and mortality exist between Hispanics and non-Hispanics and may be affected by proteinuria and diabetes.

Deregulation of c-MYC occurs in a variety of human cancers. Overexpression of c-MYC promotes cell growth, proliferation, apoptosis, transformation and genomic instability. MYC target 1 (MYCT1) is a direct target gene of c-MYC, and its murine homologue MT-MC1 recapitulated multiple c-Myc-related phenotypes. However, the molecular mechanism of MYCT1 remains unclear. Here, we identified the transmembrane (TM) domain of MYCT1, not the nuclear localization sequence, is indispensable to the vesicle-associated localization of MYCT1 protein in the cytoplasmic membrane vesicle. Overexpression of MYCT1, not MYCT1 (ΔTM), decreased cell viability under serum deprivation and increased tumour cell migration ability. We further identified CKAP4 interacted with MYCT1 and contributed to the function of MYCT1. In addition, we found that a mutation, A88D, which is observed in patient sample, changed the localization, and abolished the effect on cell viability and cell migration, suggesting that the TM domain is critical to MYCT1.

BACKGROUND: Concerns about using Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) in national surveys come up frequently in geriatric and rehabilitation medicine due to high rates of non-performance for reasons other than health. We aim to evaluate the effect of different strategies of classifying "does not do" responses to IADL questions when estimating prevalence of IADL limitations in a national survey. METHODS: Cross-sectional analysis of a nationally representative sample of 13,879 non-institutionalized adult Medicare beneficiaries included in the 2010 Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS). Sample persons or proxies were asked about difficulties performing six IADLs. Tested strategies to classify non-performance of IADL(s) for reasons other than health were to 1) derive through multiple imputation, 2) exclude (for incomplete data), 3) classify as "no difficulty," or 4) classify as "difficulty." IADL stage prevalence estimates were compared across these four strategies. RESULTS: In the sample, 1853 sample persons (12.4 % weighted) did not do one or more IADLs for reasons other than physical problems or health. Yet, IADL stage prevalence estimates differed little across the four alternative strategies. Classification as "no difficulty" led to slightly lower, while classification as "difficulty" raised the estimated population prevalence of disability. CONCLUSIONS: These analyses encourage clinicians, researchers, and policy end-users of IADL survey data to be cognizant of possible small differences that can result from alternative ways of handling unrated IADL information. At the population-level, the resulting differences appear trivial when applying MCBS data, providing reassurance that IADL items can be used to estimate the prevalence of activity limitation despite high rates of non-performance.

BACKGROUND: To address the impact of using multiple sources of data in the United States Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS) compared to using only one source of data to identify those with neuropsychiatric diagnoses. METHODS: Our data source was the 2010 MCBS with associated Medicare claims files (N = 14, 672 beneficiaries). The MCBS uses a stratified multistage probability sample design to select a nationally representative sample of Medicare beneficiaries. We excluded those participants in Medicare Health Maintenance Organizations (n = 3894) and performed a cross-sectional analysis. We classified neuropsychiatric conditions according to four broad categories: intellectual/developmental disorders, neurological conditions affecting the central nervous system (Neuro-CNS), dementia, and psychiatric conditions. To account for different baseline prevalence differences of the categories we calculated the relative increase in prevalence that occurred from adding information from claims in addition to the absolute increase to allow comparison among categories. RESULTS: The estimated proportion of the sample with neuropsychiatric disorders increased to 50.0 (both sources) compared to 38.9 (health survey only) and 33.2 (claims only) with an overlap between sources of only 44.1 %. Augmenting health survey data with claims led to an increase in estimated percentage of intellectual/developmental disorders, psychiatric disorders, Neuro-CNS disorders and dementia of 1.3, 5.9, 11.5 and 3.8 respectively. In the community sample, the largest relative increases were seen for dementia (147.6 %) and Neuro-CNS disorders (87.4 %). With the exception of dementia, larger relative increases were seen in the facility sample with the greatest being for intellectual/developmental disorders (121.5 %) and Neuro-CNS disorders (93.8 %). CONCLUSIONS: The magnitude of potentially underestimated sample proportions using health survey only data varied strikingly according to the category of diagnosis and setting. Augmentation of survey data with claims appears essential particularly when attempting to estimate proportion of the sample affected by conditions that cause cognitive impairment which may affect ability to self-report. Augmenting proxy survey data with claims data also appears to be essential when ascertaining proportion of the facility-dwelling sample affected by neuropsychiatric disorders.

BACKGROUND: Previous reports of the longitudinal association between achieved blood pressure (BP) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have not incorporated time-updated BP with appropriate covariate adjustment. OBJECTIVE: To assess the association between baseline and time-updated systolic blood pressure (SBP) with CKD progression. DESIGN: Observational, prospective cohort study. (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT00304148). SETTING: 7 U.S. clinical centers. PATIENTS: Patients in the Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort Study (n = 3708) followed for a median of 5.7 years (25th to 75th percentile, 4.6 to 6.7 years). MEASUREMENTS: The mean of 3 seated SBP measurements made up the visit-specific SBP. Time-updated SBP was the mean of that and all previous visits. Outcomes were ESRD and the composite end point of ESRD or halving of the estimated glomerular filtration rate. Analyses investigating baseline and time-updated SBP used Cox proportional hazards models and marginal structural models, respectively. RESULTS: Systolic blood pressure was 130 mm Hg or greater at all visits in 19.2% of patients. The hazard ratio for ESRD among patients with SBP of 130 to 139 mm Hg, compared with SBP less than 120 mm Hg, was 1.46 (95% CI, 1.13 to 1.88) using only baseline data and 2.37 (CI, 1.48 to 3.80) using time-updated data. Among patients with SBP of 140 mm Hg or greater, corresponding hazard ratios were 1.46 (CI, 1.18 to 1.88) and 3.37 (CI, 2.26 to 5.03) for models using only baseline data and those using time-updated data, respectively. LIMITATION: Blood pressure was measured once annually, and the cohort was not a random sample. CONCLUSION: Time-updated SBP greater than 130 mm Hg was more strongly associated with CKD progression than analyses based on baseline SBP.
