RESUMEN

In January 2021, an acute chemical poisoning incident occurred at a fluorine polymerization plant. Through the analysis of the occupational health situation of the enterprise, combined with the clinical manifestations of the poisoned patients and the laboratory examination results, it was determined that the incident was an acute poisoning incident caused by the inhalation of organic fluorine mixed gas in the fluorine polymerization plant. Subsequently, it was clarified that the accident was caused by the illegal operation of the employees of the fluorine polymerization plant, which caused the discharge of the organic fluorine mixed gas containing high concentration of octafluoroisobutene, resulting in the poisoning of the on-site construction personnel. In order to avoid the occurrence of similar incidents, enterprises should implement the main responsibility of safety production, regularly organize supervision and inspection, eliminate illegal operations, conduct safety education and training for the staff of the unit and outsourced staff, and improve the emergency rescue ability of sudden poisoning incidents.

RESUMEN

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is one of the most common complications of pregnancy, which poses a serious health risk to mothers and infants. In recent years, many studies have revealed the important role of exercise in preventing GDM, regulating blood glucose and ameliorating insulin resistance, as well as its potential value as an emerging therapeutic approach in improving maternal and infant outcomes and long-term health. This review discusses the latest research progress on the effect of exercise on the prevention and treatment of GDM, aims to deepen the knowledge of exercise therapy for GDM and provides guidance and assistance for the clinical treatment of GDM.

RESUMEN

Applying molecular methods to fungi establishing lichenized associations with green algae or cyanobacteria has repeatedly revealed the existence of numerous phylogenetic taxa overlooked by classical taxonomic approaches. Here, we report taxonomical conclusions based on multiple species delimitation and validation analyses performed on an eight-locus dataset that includes world-wide representatives of the dolichorhizoid and scabrosoid clades in section Polydactylon of the genus Peltigera. Following the recommendations resulting from a consensus species delimitation approach and additional species validation analysis (BPP) performed in this study, we present a total of 25 species in the dolichorhizoid clade and nine in the scabrosoid clade, including respectively 18 and six species that are new to science and formally described. Additionally, one combination and three varieties (including two new to science) are proposed in the dolichorhizoid clade. The following 24 new species are described: P. appalachiensis, P. asiatica, P. borealis, P. borinquensis, P. chabanenkoae, P. clathrata, P. elixii, P. esslingeri, P. flabellae, P. gallowayi, P. hawaiiensis, P. holtanhartwigii, P. itatiaiae, P. hokkaidoensis, P. kukwae, P. massonii, P. mikado, P. nigriventris, P. orientalis, P. rangiferina, P. sipmanii, P. stanleyensis, P. vitikainenii and P. willdenowii; the following new varieties are introduced: P. kukwae var. phyllidiata and P. truculenta var. austroscabrosa; and the following new combination is introduced: P. hymenina var. dissecta. Each species from the dolichorhizoid and scabrosoid clades is morphologically and chemically described, illustrated, and characterised with ITS sequences. Identification keys are provided for the main biogeographic regions where species from the two clades occur. Morphological and chemical characters that are commonly used for species identification in the genus Peltigera cannot be applied to unambiguously recognise most molecularly circumscribed species, due to high variation of thalli formed by individuals within a fungal species, including the presence of distinct morphs in some cases, or low interspecific variation in others. The four commonly recognised morphospecies: P. dolichorhiza, P. neopolydactyla, P. pulverulenta and P. scabrosa in the dolichorhizoid and scabrosoid clades represent species complexes spread across multiple and often phylogenetically distantly related lineages. Geographic origin of specimens is often helpful for species recognition; however, ITS sequences are frequently required for a reliable identification. RESUMEN

Objective: To investigate the prevalence and independent risk factors of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and advanced chronic liver disease among the type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) population in the Shenyang community, so as to provide evidence for the prevention and control of T2DM combined with NAFLD. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in July 2021. 644 T2DM cases from 13 communities in Heping District, Shenyang City were selected. All the surveyed subjects underwent physical examination (measurements of height, body mass index, neck circumference, waist circumference, abdominal circumference, hip circumference, and blood pressure), infection screening (excluding hepatitis B and C, AIDS, and syphilis), random fingertip blood glucose, controlled attenuation parameter (CAP), and liver stiffness measurement (LSM). The study subjects were divided into the non-advanced chronic liver disease group and the advanced chronic liver disease group according to whether the LSM value was greater than 10 kPa. Cirrhotic portal hypertension development was indicated in patients with LSM ≥ 15 kPa. The comparison of multiple mean values among the sample groups was performed by analysis of variance when the normal distribution was met. Results: In the T2DM community population, there were 401 cases (62.27%) combined with NAFLD, 63 cases (9.78%) combined with advanced chronic liver disease, and 14 cases (2.17%) combined with portal hypertension. There were 581 cases in the non-advanced chronic liver disease group and 63 cases (9.78%) in the advanced chronic liver disease group (LSM ≥10 kPa), including 49 cases (7.61%) with 10 kPa≤LSM<15 kPa, 11 cases (1.71%) with 15 kPa ≤LSM<25 kPa, and 3 cases (0.47%) with LSM ≥ 25 kPa. Age, body mass, body mass index, neck circumference, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist-to-height ratio, systolic blood pressure, and CAP were all statistically different between the non-advanced chronic liver disease group and the advanced chronic liver disease group (F=-1.983,-2.598,-4.091,-2.062,-3.909, -4.581,-4.295,-2.474, and -5.191, respectively; P<0.05). There was a statistically significant difference in terms of whether or not there was combined cerebrovascular disease (2=4.632, P=0.031); however, there were no statistically significant differences in terms of lifestyle, diabetes complications, and other complications (P>0.05). Conclusion: Patients with T2DM have a higher prevalence of NAFLD (62.27%) than those with advanced chronic liver disease (9.78%). 2.17% of T2DM cases in the community may not have had early diagnosis and early intervention, and they might have been combined with cirrhotic portal hypertension. So, the management of these patients should be strengthened.

RESUMEN

In this study, the East Asian diversity of green-algal Lobaria was evaluated by applying both morphological and phylogenetic approaches. A multi-locus phylogenetic analysis of 72 green-algal Lobaria specimens was performed using a three-locus and time-calibrated species-tree approach. The analyses demonstrate that pairs of sexually and vegetatively reproducing lineages split into highly supported monophyletic clades. Taxonomically, 11 green-algal Lobaria species were identified as new to science, while 10 were previously described species. The species differentiated during the Pliocene and Pleistocene. The coincidence of paleoclimatic events with estimated dates of divergence support a bioclimatic hypothesis for species evolution in the green-algal Lobaria. Molecular phylogenies, a summary of diversity, detailed new species descriptions and geographical analyses are provided. Special recognition of species with a long evolutionary history, which merit high conservation priority, will be critical for preserving geographically restricted endemics in the Himalayas and the Hengduan Mountains, where habitat loss is driving rapid declines.

RESUMEN

One favorable situation for spins to enter the long-sought quantum spin liquid (QSL) state is when they sit on a kagome lattice. No consensus has been reached in theory regarding the true ground state of this promising platform. The experimental efforts, relying mostly on one archetypal material ZnCu_{3}(OH)_{6}Cl_{2}, have also led to diverse possibilities. Apart from subtle interactions in the Hamiltonian, there is the additional degree of complexity associated with disorder in the real material ZnCu_{3}(OH)_{6}Cl_{2} that haunts most experimental probes. Here we resort to heat transport measurement, a cleaner probe in which instead of contributing directly, the disorder only impacts the signal from the kagome spins. For ZnCu_{3}(OH)_{6}Cl_{2}, we observed no contribution by any spin excitation nor obvious field-induced change to the thermal conductivity. These results impose strong constraints on various scenarios about the ground state of this kagome compound: while certain quantum paramagnetic states other than a QSL may serve as natural candidates, a QSL state, gapless or gapped, must be dramatically modified by the disorder so that the kagome spin excitations are localized.

RESUMEN

Optical chaos communication has advantages of high speed and long transmission distance. Unfortunately, the key space of the traditional transceiver, i.e. semiconductor laser with mirror feedback, is limited due to the time delay signature. In this paper, we propose and numerically demonstrate a key space enhancement by using semiconductor laser with optical feedback from a chirped fiber Bragg grating (FBG). The chirped FBG feedback can make feedback delay a key parameter by eliminating the time delay signature. Moreover, the grating dispersion and center frequency can also be used as new keys. As a result, the dimension of key space is increased. By taking a bidirectional communication scheme as an example, numerical results show that the key space is raised by 244 times as against mirror feedback with a data rate of 2.5 Gb/s and a coupling strength of 0.447. As the coupling strength decreases, the key space increases due to the fact that chaos synchronization becomes more sensitive to parameter mismatch.

RESUMEN

We present the ultralow-temperature specific heat and thermal conductivity measurements on single crystals of triangular-lattice compound EtMe_{3}Sb[Pd(dmit)_{2}]_{2}, which has long been considered as a gapless quantum spin liquid candidate. In specific heat measurements, a finite linear term is observed, consistent with the previous work [S. Yamashita et al., Nat. Commun. 2, 275 (2011)NCAOBW2041-172310.1038/ncomms1274]. However, we do not observe a finite residual linear term in the thermal conductivity measurements, and the thermal conductivity does not change in a magnetic field of 6 T. These results are in sharp contrast to previous thermal conductivity measurements on EtMe_{3}Sb[Pd(dmit)_{2}]_{2} [M. Yamashita et al., Science 328, 1246 (2010)SCIEAS0036-807510.1126/science.1188200], in which a huge residual linear term was observed and attributed to highly mobile gapless excitations, likely the spinons of a quantum spin liquid. In this context, the true ground state of EtMe_{3}Sb[Pd(dmit)_{2}]_{2} has to be reconsidered.

RESUMEN

This study was carried out to study multi-slice spiral CT imaging for patients with gastric carcinoma and explore the values of multi-slice spiral CT imaging in staging prior to gastric carcinoma (GC) surgery. Forty-eight patients with GC underwent multi-slice spiral CT, and the scanning results were compared with the pathological results. The similarity of the results was observed, and the accuracy was calculated. Of 48 patients, 8 did not undergo surgery because of metastasis. In the diagnosis of the remaining 40 patients, the sensitivity of multi-slice spiral CT in the diagnosis of staging of invasive depth of GC was 77.5%; κ = 0.642 in the analysis of consistency; there was no significant difference with the pathological results (p >0.05). The overall accuracy of diagnosis for stage N was 80%. The accuracy of multi-slice CT in detecting distant metastasis of GC was 87.5%. Multi-slice spiral CT can determine and evaluate various metastases of GC. The diagnostic results obtained using multi-slice spiral CT was probably consistent with the pathological results.

RESUMEN

The adverse reactions of warfarin that were found mainly occurred in the first month. This study was carried out to observe the effect of gene polymorphisms on the warfarin therapy at the initial stage. Four-hundred and sixty Chinese patients began warfarin treatment with daily 2.5 mg after heart valve replacement operations were enrolled. The daily international normalized ratio (INR) for anticoagulation were recorded till the seventh day. Blood samples were collected and used to detect genotypes for VKORC1 rs7294, CYP2C9 rs1057910, CYP4F2 rs2108622 and ORM1 rs17650. INR and their changes were compared among genotypes. INR was partially correlated with the VKORC1 rs7294, CYP2C9 rs1057910, CYP4F2 rs2108622 and ORM1 rs17650 polymorphisms from the third, fourth and sixth day on, respectively. VKORC1 rs7294 and CYP4F2 rs2108622 carriers responded lower than the wild genotype, whereas CYP2C9 rs1057910 and ORM1 rs17650 carriers responded higher, respectively. Fifty percent of AA/*1*3/CC/*S*S patients and 16% of AA/*1*1/CC/*S*S patients were over anticoagulation treated with INR >4.0 at the third day. Ninety percent of VKORC1 rs7294 carrier patients have INR <1.63, a mark of the 25% of lower responders of the wild genotype. Our study provided another kind of evidence that VKORC1 rs7294, CYP2C9 rs1057910, CYP4F2 rs2108622 and ORM1 rs17650 affected the action of warfarin in different styles. Patients with AA/*1*1/CC/*S*S, AA/*1*3/CC/*S*S should use a less initial dosage to avoid over anticoagulation, and patients with VKORC1 rs7294 should use larger initial dose to proof an effective therapy.

RESUMEN

APOE ɛ4, the most significant genetic risk factor for Alzheimer disease (AD), may mask effects of other loci. We re-analyzed genome-wide association study (GWAS) data from the International Genomics of Alzheimer's Project (IGAP) Consortium in APOE ɛ4+ (10 352 cases and 9207 controls) and APOE ɛ4- (7184 cases and 26 968 controls) subgroups as well as in the total sample testing for interaction between a single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) and APOE ɛ4 status. Suggestive associations (P<1 × 10(-4)) in stage 1 were evaluated in an independent sample (stage 2) containing 4203 subjects (APOE ɛ4+: 1250 cases and 536 controls; APOE ɛ4-: 718 cases and 1699 controls). Among APOE ɛ4- subjects, novel genome-wide significant (GWS) association was observed with 17 SNPs (all between KANSL1 and LRRC37A on chromosome 17 near MAPT) in a meta-analysis of the stage 1 and stage 2 data sets (best SNP, rs2732703, P=5·8 × 10(-9)). Conditional analysis revealed that rs2732703 accounted for association signals in the entire 100-kilobase region that includes MAPT. Except for previously identified AD loci showing stronger association in APOE ɛ4+ subjects (CR1 and CLU) or APOE ɛ4- subjects (MS4A6A/MS4A4A/MS4A6E), no other SNPs were significantly associated with AD in a specific APOE genotype subgroup. In addition, the finding in the stage 1 sample that AD risk is significantly influenced by the interaction of APOE with rs1595014 in TMEM106B (P=1·6 × 10(-7)) is noteworthy, because TMEM106B variants have previously been associated with risk of frontotemporal dementia. Expression quantitative trait locus analysis revealed that rs113986870, one of the GWS SNPs near rs2732703, is significantly associated with four KANSL1 probes that target transcription of the first translated exon and an untranslated exon in hippocampus (P ⩽ 1.3 × 10(-8)), frontal cortex (P ⩽ 1.3 × 10(-9)) and temporal cortex (P⩽1.2 × 10(-11)). Rs113986870 is also strongly associated with a MAPT probe that targets transcription of alternatively spliced exon 3 in frontal cortex (P=9.2 × 10(-6)) and temporal cortex (P=2.6 × 10(-6)). Our APOE-stratified GWAS is the first to show GWS association for AD with SNPs in the chromosome 17q21.31 region. Replication of this finding in independent samples is needed to verify that SNPs in this region have significantly stronger effects on AD risk in persons lacking APOE ɛ4 compared with persons carrying this allele, and if this is found to hold, further examination of this region and studies aimed at deciphering the mechanism(s) are warranted.

RESUMEN

We develop reflective color filters with randomly distributed nanodisks and nanoholes fabricated with hydrogen silsesquioxane and Ag films on silicon substrate. They exhibit high resolution, angle-independence and easily up-scalable fabrication, which are the most important factors for color filters for industrial applications. We uncover the underlying mechanism after systematically analyzing the localized surface plasmon polariton coupling in the electric-field distribution. The agreement of the experimental results with those from the simulation indicates that tunable colors across the visible spectrum can be obtained by simply varying the diameter of the nanodisks, promoting their applications.

RESUMEN

We demonstrate a TE/TM polarization-independent plasmonic subtractive color filtering scheme employing ultrathin two-dimensional Ag nanodisks. These TE/TM polarization-independent subtractive color filters exhibit small feature sizes (below 200 nm) and high transmission up to 70% in the visible spectral region, superior to previously reported plasmonic color filters. Simulated optical transmission spectra and colors are in good agreement with experimental results. The color-filtering behaviors strongly depend on thickness and period of nanodisks. Underlying mechanisms are also discussed in detail.

RESUMEN

Objective: To assess the clinical outcomes of totally endoscopic coronary artery bypass grafting (TECABG). Methods: A systematic review of studies reporting clinical outcomes of TECABG was performed. Twelve studies were included in the meta-analysis. R 3.2.3 was used to perform the statistical analysis. Results: Length of hospital stay of TACABG patients ranged from 3.3 to 8.6 days. The rate of recent conversion to thoracotomy was 0-28.1% (from perioperative period to 2 years after surgery); the rate of anastomotic bleeding was 1.7%-8.5%; the case fatality rate of in-hospital or 30 days after surgery was 0-3.8%; the rate of myocardial infarction was 0-3.4%; the rate of stroke was 0-2.2%; the rate of revascularization was 0-6.8%; the patency rate of recent coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) was 89.5%-100%; the mid-time survival rate of TECABG patients (from 2 to 5 years after surgery) was 92.7%-100%; the rate of revascularization was 2.0%-12.2%; the patency rate of mid-time CABG was 71.4%-97.0%. Conclusions: The current data suggests that TECABG is feasible, safe and effective when proper patients are selected. However, randomized controlled trials of TECABG versus conventional CABG are still required due to lack of long-term outcomes.

RESUMEN

Plasmonic subtractive color filters through patterning periodic nanostructures on ultrathin Ag films deposited on a glass substrate, exhibiting good durability, simple fabrication, and flexible color tunability, have attracted considerable attention due to their tremendous potential applications. While previous studies have mainly focused on their extraordinary physical mechanisms, color purity, which is another key parameter for high quality imaging applications, has been much less investigated. In this work, we demonstrate that the relative position of nanoholes patterned on ultrathin Ag films can largely affect the color purity of plasmonic subtractive color filters. The calculated results agree reasonably well with the experimental data, revealing that the purity of subtractive colors can be improved by changing the nanohole arrays from square lattice to triangular lattice without reducing transmission at visible frequencies. In addition, underlying mechanisms are clarified by systematically analyzing the dominant valley in transmission spectra.

RESUMEN

WHAT IS KNOWN AND OBJECTIVE: Silibinin (Silybin), a major constituent of the milk thistle, is commonly used to treat chronic liver disease in some countries. It has been reported to inhibit the transport activity of ABCB1. This study was carried out to determine whether ABCB1 C3435T polymorphism influenced the pharmacokinetics of silibinin contained in silymarin capsules. METHODS: Twenty-three healthy volunteers (10 ABCB1 CC, 8 CT and 5 TT genotypes) were enrolled in this clinical trial. Each volunteer was given a single dose of 140 mg Silymarin Capsule. Blood samples were then collected up to 12 h. HPLC-MS/MS was used to detect serial blood concentration of silybin. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: The peak plasma concentration (Cmax) in subjects of CC (144·8 ± 60·1 ng/mL) and CT (129·3 ± 50·3 ng/mL) genotypes were 2-fold higher than in subjects of TT genotype (60·1 ± 18·3 ng/mL) (with P = 0·0007 and P = 0·0115 respectively). The area under the concentration-time curve (AUC) extrapolated to infinity [AUC(0-∞)] of CC carriers (347·1 ± 133·8 ng/mL h) was significantly higher than that of TT carriers (228·3 ± 52·9 ng/mL h) (P = 0·0115). WHAT IS NEW AND CONCLUSION: The pharmacokinetics of silibinin was significantly influenced by ABCB1 C3435T polymorphism. Dosage adjustment may be necessary for subjects of different genotypes to ensure comparative exposures. A dose-ranging clinical trial should be undertaken to determine whether the observed differences are clinically significant.

RESUMEN

The interleukin-18 (IL-18) gene -607 C/A polymorphism has been reported to be associated with gastrointestinal cancer, but there are conflicting results from previous studies on said topic. Therefore, the aim of this meta-analysis is to derive a more precise estimation of the association between the -607 C/A polymorphism in the IL-18 gene and gastrointestinal cancer risk. Literature searches of PubMed, Google Scholar, and Web of Science databases were carried out in 2015. Five studies were assessed with a total of 1618 cases and 1155 healthy controls. When results from all eligible studies were pooled into the meta-analysis, we found significant association between the IL-18 gene -607 C/A polymorphism and gastrointestinal cancer risk (CC vs AA: OR = 0.93, 95%CI = 0.72- 1.20; CC vs CA: OR = 0.76, 95%CI = 0.62-0.92; dominant model: OR = 1.25, 95%CI = 1.03-1.50; recessive model: OR = 1.09, 95%CI = 0.87-1.37). In the subgroup analysis, significant associations between the -607 C/A polymorphism and gastrointestinal cancer risk were found in esophageal cancer. However, this polymorphism did not appear to have any influence on gastric cancer and colorectal cancer susceptibility. In conclusion, this meta-analysis suggests that the -607 C/A polymorphism in the IL-18 gene may be associated with susceptibility to esophageal cancer. Further studies with large sample sizes are needed to confirm these conclusions.

RESUMEN

Advanced prostate cancer (PC) still remains incurable. Novel immunogene therapy shows promise as treatment strategy that can target both localized and metastasized PC. In this study, we have developed a PC-specific oncolytic adenovirus (Ad-PL-PPT-E1A) armed with fusion gene of prostate-specific antigen and CD40 ligand, and aimed to evaluate its therapeutic effect in vitro and in vivo. After they were rescued in human embryonic kidney 293 cells, we confirmed that Ad-PL-PPT-E1A could mediate the expression of E1A efficiently and produce abundant progeny viruses in PC cells in vitro. Our data showed that Ad-PL-PPT-E1A induced apoptosis and resulted in specific oncolytic toxicity in PC cells, which was detected by Annexin-V staining and crystal violet, respectively. After stimulation with lysates, immune phenotypes and cytokines expression of human dendritic cells was detected by flow cytometry and real-time polymerase chain reaction, respectively. And, the results showed that the lysate of Ad-PL-PPT-E1A-infected LNCaP cells upregulated the expression of CD80, CD83, CD86 and mRNA level of interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-12, IL-23 and tumor necrosis factor-α significantly. In established PC3M cell-xenografted mouse models, Ad-PL-PPT-E1A treatment improved the survival and suppressed the tumor growth obviously. In conclusion, Ad-PL-PPT-E1A exhibited enhanced antitumor activity is a promising approach for gene therapy of advanced PC.

RESUMEN

This study investigated the in vitro susceptibilities of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) to nine antimicrobial agents in Taiwan. A total of 1,725 isolates were obtained from 20 hospitals throughout Taiwan from 2006 to 2010. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of the nine agents were determined by the agar dilution method. The MICs of mupirocin and tyrothricin were determined for 223 MRSA isolates collected from 2009 to 2010. For vancomycin, 99.7 % were susceptible; however, 30.0 % (n = 517) exhibited MICs of 2 µg/ml and 0.3 % (n = 6) demonstrated intermediate susceptibility (MICs of 4 µg/ml). Nearly all isolates (≥ 99.9 %) were susceptible to teicoplanin, linezolid, and daptomycin. The MIC90 values were 2 µg/ml for ceftobiprole and 1 µg/ml for nemonoxacin. The MIC90 values of mupirocin and tyrothricin were 0.12 and 4 µg/ml, respectively. MIC creep was noted for daptomycin during this period, but not for vancomycin, teicoplanin, linezolid, or tigecycline. For isolates with vancomycin MICs of 2 µg/ml, the MIC90 values were 2 µg/ml for teicoplanin, 0.5 µg/ml for daptomycin, and 0.5 µg/ml for tigecycline. Those values were four- to eight-fold higher than those among isolates with vancomycin MICs of 0.5 µg/ml (2, 0.06, and 0.12 µg/ml, respectively). Of the nine MRSA isolates exhibiting non-susceptibility to vancomycin (n = 6), teicoplanin (n = 1), daptomycin (n = 2), or tigecycline (n = 1), all had different pulsotypes, indicating the absence of intra-hospital or inter-hospital spread. The presence of a high proportion of MRSA isolates with elevated MICs (2 µg/ml) and MIC creep of daptomycin might alert clinicians on the therapy for serious MRSA infections in Taiwan.

RESUMEN

Objective: To understand the current status and its associated factors of dual use of e-cigarettes and cigarettes among adolescents in Shandong Province and explore the reasons for dual use behavior. Methods: A self-administered survey was conducted among 7 999 middle school students who were selected by stratified multi-stage cluster sample method. Data were weighted and analyzed by the SPSS 25.0 complex program. Results: In Shandong Province, the prevalence rates of attempting and current dual use of e-cigarettes and cigarettes among adolescents appeared as 7.7% and 1.3%, respectively. Male, friends smoking, and secondhand smoke exposure in the past 7 days were risk factors for dual use. Compared with cigarette smokers, dual users have no differences in cognition and behavior in quitting smoking (P>0.05). The main reason for dual users to smoke e-cigarettes was curiosity. Conclusions: Dual use of e-cigarettes and cigarettes is common among adolescents in Shandong Province, and its influencing factors are similar to traditional cigarettes. Dual use is not a transitional stage for smoking cessation. Dual users are more likely to continue smoking in the future, which should be paid attention and concern.
